SAM
Sam, I am.

Golly, I've been in my foster home for a year now! What's the problem?! Doesn't anyone want near constant companionship and comedic relief?

In many of my pictures on this web site, I'm with my showshoe "brother," Dean. It would be great if we could go to our forever home together, but our foster mom thinks we would both do well separately. I do put up with Dean's extreme cuteness, even though it detracts attention from ME, but I could adjust to being the center of some human's attention. ;)

If you like "bossy" meezers, I'm your man! I will tell what I want and when I want it (now) & if I don't get it, you'll hear about it. But I'm not obnoxious.

I promise to keep you company & entertain you all the time! And I will eat everything you put in front of me. Then I will eat everything else I can find.

I am a seal point & proud of it! I have a strong meezer purrsonality -- I'm either the meezer someone desperately wants, or . . . There's no middle ground. My foster mom has really come to love and appreciate me for my unique qualities. And she finally realized that I'm a Mensa kitty, but she says I'm too smart for my own good.

I am a very handsome guy. So happy & healthy now. Check out the picture of me carrying around my favorite toy (a ball). If that picture had sound, you'd hear me meowing happily while I carry my toy. Speaking of sound, I am a champion "chirper." Actually, I'm better at communication than many humans.

I'm a very friendly guy, too. I follow my foster mom around like a dog and let her know with my soft but persistent voice that I want attention. Mom calls me "Samella." I love to play and I get along with the resident cats.

BTW, I was confiscated by Animal Control from a hoarder with about 30 cats. Many were Siamese. Dean & I were the healthiest of the lot. We are both healthy now. But because I was ill & thus need to avoid getting too stressed out by a very long trip to my forever home, I need to stay in my transport area.

Sam is doing great and has really become a big daddys boy..It took a couple weeks of adjustment but wow when he finally decided all was good he came out running.

Sam continues to be a daddy's boy. He's healthy and happy and very good. So glad to have been able to adopt him.

TAZMEANA
Hi - My name is Celeste and I am a beautiful seal point girl who just got to my foster home. A nice person found me when I was lost from my family, took me to the shelter and then they helped me get into rescue. The nice lady who found me said that I am a very good girl, very sweet and well behaved. She said that I like laps. Foster mom will tell you more as she learns more about me. Be watching for updates in the next few days. If you have questions, please ask my foster mom, Katie.

AUTUMN
Curious, that's how my foster Mom describes me. I want to know what you're doing. I want to know what everyone else is doing. I want to know what that sound is over there. I haven't been here long, but I really want to know all about everything. I am friendly, playful, and love to sit in your lap or, even better yet, snuggle up under your chin. I have not met the other cats yet, but again, I'm curious. Oh, and I met the big dog, and thought she was the neatest thing ever. Foster Mom laughed, said something about the big dog being scared of the little cat climbing all over her. Anyway, you should ask about me and we can explore my new home together. You can show me all the things I'm curious about, and then we can sit down for a while and snuggle.

Kinoko starting to warm up to our home. She seems more trusting and more comfortable playing. She likes her food and her clean litter box. Now she doesn't sporadically eat her food. She feels comfortable leaving food for later. She loves to be get brushed. Her litter habit is perfect. Her veterinarian gave her a clean bill of health after a small ear infection.

SASHA
Looking for a velcro cat? If you are, I'm your girl!

I'm a little older than my companion, but we are very close, so he has to come with me. I came to foster mom with some health problems, which appear to be corrected with proper nutrition and lots of fluids. I was dehydrated and was being fed dry food, which made things worse. I also need my friend, Sunshine to stay with me, so I can stay happy and healthy for years to come.

I have a good appetite, and enjoy my life! Sunshine and I would like to find our forever home in a quiet household, free from dogs and kids. We are now enjoying the company of the resident cats, but it would be easier if we were the only cats in the household..

Oh yes-did I mention that we are both declawed?

EMERALD
Hello?

Is anyone out there?

I've been at my foster meowmy's house for 5 weeks!! That's a really long time to be waiting for my forever family. I love my foster meowmy and all, but it's time for me to go home. Maybe you're the one!

In case you haven't heard.....

I am a very sweet and social girl. I am affectionate and just love attention. I like to talk sometimes. But playing is my absolute favorite thing to do. I love to play and can be a bit of a crazy kitten at times. Because of this, I will need a (male) kitten or young cat as a playmate.

If you are looking for a sweet and fun kitten, then I'm your girl. So ask about me!

Check out my new videos!!
Notes from Home
Emerald is loving her new home and new friends, Zeus and Simchah. She is the baby around here and would love it if someone would carry her around all day long or rock her. She still comes running when we call "where's the baby?" She had a bout of Giardia, but the last test came back negative, so hopefully we are done with that. She loves story time and bedtime with the twins. When it's storytime, she runs in the room curls up in the lap of whoever is reading aloud in the rocking chair (so she can see the pictures of course!) and listens to the story. Then when it's over she runs off to play with Zeus until she wears herself out and I tuck her into her cat bed at the foot of Mary's bed. It's like having a toddler all over again! The amazing Squirrel Tail still inspires awe. The twins love to put on kitty shows staring Emerald as she chases her toys and jumps over things. She has become even more of a talker. Such a sweet girl. I still can't believe no one snatched her up, but I'm glad they didn't because she is our baby.

ZEUS
Hello! I'm Zeus :)

I am a very sweet fellow who enjoys purring, pets, and playing. I've just gotten over the ickies, so foster meowmy is still learning about me as my personality begins to shine. But I guarantee you will want to about me because I'm just that cute!

Zeus continues to be our sweet little love bug. He has been diagnosed with inflamatory bowel disease, so we have him on a new food, probiotics, meds and weekly vitamin shots. He purrs through the whole thing and whenever he goes to the vet everyone oohs and ahhhs over how cute and sweet he is. They are right of course. he still has his little tummy pooch, but on his new food it's not quite as large. Only when he sneaks into Emerald's food. He and Emerald have become best buddies and he goes to Simchah for all his babying. Our daughter Emma adores her little guy and declares "I don't care about his pooch, he is the kitty for me." Both of the girls help with his meds and Emma mixes his food. She helped diagnose his digestive problems by listening to his belly and comparing it to the other cats', so we may have a budding vet on our hands. The twins joke that Zeus' pooch is where he stores his purrrs because he never stops purring. He also loves a tummy rub and snuggling with everyone.

CONNOR
I am an exceptionally marked snowshoe boy - but I'm so friendly that foster mom can't get a good picture of me as I come up to her for headbuts and attention. I chirp and trill to talk and have a large vocabulary of sounds. I am very friendly and just love attention! I've been to the vet and pronounced healthy. I've been meeting the other kitties, and so far so good. Not totally sure about them - but not upset about them either. I use the litter box like a good boy, and the cat scratcher things for my claws. I like toys, and especially like to put them in my water dish. Do you have toys that need to be dunked and washed? Then ask about me!
Notes from Home
It's been 4 years since we adopted Connor. He is the coolest cat. He knows his name so well, he will come running from no matter where he is when called. My husband and him are bff. He LOVES my husband. I'm so thankful we adopted him you.

LAUREN BEAR
Howdy...I'm just a simple little gal looking for a forever family that will allow me to cuddle on their chest while we watch t.v. together & allow me to play with my toys & allow me to sleep with them at night so I can sing my purr lullaby! All I will require is food, loving & a safe & happy forever home.

I must have a friend to play with and if you don't have one, I'm sure my foster mom can help find another kitty on this site to come along too!!!

You can click on that button & ask about me if you want some loving & kisses coming your way!

Purrs,
Lauren Bear

Notes from Home
Jan 2016: Just wanted to include this in her records - she's allergic to corn products and peanuts/peanut butter (both cause diarrhea.) I also put a note in her petlink profile.

Sept 2015: Lauren's heartbeat has gotten better recently by increasing one of her meds and she's racing around like a kitten again playing with her toy mice. The other day Bonita wanted to wrestle with her and she bopped Bonita on the head. (No one got hurt) but it was funny. I've taught her to "sit" on command before giving her a (corn and grain free) treat! The other day she hopped up on the dining room table and I said, "Lauren, get down." She promptly sat down on the table, since that's the only command she knows. Her ears perked up and she sat up nice and straight, proud of "obeying the [one] command [she knows.] I just had to laugh. She sleeps next to me every night and still purrs up a storm every day.

March 2014: Lauren's new favorite place is a table I put up next to my bedroom window. She likes watching the outside AND the inside of the house from there.

PS Oct 2013: Lauren is a total love bug. She follows Mommy around in the house and gazes into my eyes, smiling. Purrs easily and often. Loves "bear hugs" in which she gets on my lap then leans up, stands on her back feet and puts her front legs on my shoulders and almost tries to climb on my shoulders, like she's in love. She and Bonita STILL snuggle up together. The other day I came home and found them snuggled up together taking a nap. We're a family for sure.

Oct 2013: JUST so that this is in her file in ase anything happens to me and my cats go back to SCRC: Lauren has a slightly enlarged heart (left ventricle) and her ECK is off, so in addition to her reg vet Great Falls Animal Hospital, I take her to Chesapeacke Veterinary Cardiology Associates in Vienna, VA (phone 703) 281-7717. Currently, she is on 1/4 of a 25mg tab of Atenolol twice a day + one 2.5 mg tab of Enalapril/day + 1/4 of a 75mg generic Plavix tab per day. That's in one morning pill pocket, chicken flavored, and 3 evening pill pockets. She's great about taking them in the pill pockets becuase I tell her they're her "treats." She is acting totally normally. We found this in a routine check up. She also can't eat corn, so Natural Balance and Wellness wet foods are best for her. Due to her heart situation, if dental cleanings or any anesthsia is contemplated, contact CVCA first. She should also not be given steroids, nor IV fluids, at least without contacting CVCA first (she has no need for those now). I brush her and Bonita's teeth about once a day in hopes that they won't need major dental work in the future. Lauren will need check ups with exam, lab tetsts and ECGs probbaly every 6 months. Contact Great Falls Animal Hospital and CVCA for the latest. Thank you!

July 2013: Both Lauren and Bonita are still happy and healthy. Lauren is a little shy but purrs OFTEN. Bonita is very curious and full of energy. We have a new large cardboard box that she loves to play in.

Nov 2012: It's been a year since I adopted them! What more to say? I love these girls. Adding pictures.

July 2012: Lauren also likes to burrow under the bed covers like a mole, not for the purpose of hiding, but to get across the length of the bed and jump out the other side. :)

June 2012: Lauren Bear is the biggest purrer and hugger I have ever known! She jumps up on my lap, has a very loud purr, and hugs and hugs me. She's also very expressive- I can always read her. Very, very loving!

4/30/12
I love both Bonita and Lauren!! I tell them every day how adorable they are.

11/11/11It's all good! They seem to really like it here, love their beds, talk to
me especially as I'm prepping dinner, and they're very purry. They love to
play with the many toys we have here. We've been to the vet and are on a
worming protocol. They're still good buddies. Bonita is a tiny little love
machine, and Lauren purrs almost all of the time and is so sweet. Everyone
is happy. :)

Lauren Bear and Little Bonita are WONDERFUL! I love them so much. They are purr machines and so cuddly. They'll have a very happy and long life here with me. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this possible!

Happy Valentine's Day 2012! Lauren is doing great. She is AMAZING at fetching her mousie toys. She'll drop one by my feet and "chirp" at me. Or, if I say, "Lauren, where's your mousie?" and if it's nearby, she will go fetch it. When I hold it up before I throw it she watches my hand INTENTLY, then as I throw it she does some more "chirping" (like a purry meow or a trill) as she dashes off after it and brings it back to me. We do that again and again and again and again. Often that's how I wake up in the morning - with her and her toy mousie chirping at me to play a while before I get out of bed.
Lauren's nick names are "Baby Girl" (I use that for Bonita too) and "Fetches Mice." She loves to purr and jump on my lap and nuzzle me. Often if I'm on the couch both Lauren and Bonita will be there next to me. They're getting along well- they have their special "ribbon wand" time at night when we all play together. Lauren will sometimes go after the feather wand and jump up like a bucking bronco, race around, and stalk the feather again- she really gets into it. :)

March 2012: I thought of another nick name for Lauren: "mouse monkey." She still fetches her mice and brings them back, like a puppy. Sometimes she'll also burrow under the covers, not really to get warm, but to tunnel through to the other side, like a mole. She purrs a lot. She's started "wrestling" with a blanket: She'll bite it and toss it around from side to side, or roll in it, like a puppy. :)
