A sparkling personality. I'm sweet, I'm playful, I'm chatty, and I will sit in your lap as long as you want me to. Oh, and I have the silkiest softest coat ever! Ok, can you keep a secret? Foster Mom is super nice and takes good care of me, but, well...I'm tired of being a foster kitty! I want someone to take me home and love me forever and ever....Oh, go ahead, tell the secret. Tell my foster Mom you'll take me home forever.

We love Bali ....formerly madam Sparkle!

We met the awesome meezer express in Indy on Feb 27th and learned that Bali had "talked" the 5 hours of her trip. And she then talked most of the 2 hours to her forever home in Cincinnati. Very inquisitive when we got home, checking out the place but always coming back to chirp at us. After dinner she curled up on the sofa between us seemingly very content & knowing she was "home."

Slept in our bed that first night and every night since. She is such a loving cat; very friendly and never far away. She loves a lap, a good brushing, and a nice chat (though she wants to talk - LOL!). She is the perfect cat for us.

We are so appreciative of Joy, Connie, Aimee, Helen, Jennifer, Katrina, and Holly for caring for the lovely little lady, and for all of your help in bringing her to us. Our experience with Siamese Rescue is only surpassed by Bali herself. Thank You!!!!

My life has gotten a little sad but it's already getting better. My owner lost her home and couldn't take me and my brother, Memo, with her to where she'd be staying. Turned into the shelter just before Christmas - Memo and I just had each other. Luckily Siamese Rescue came and got us. We spent a few days in a temporary foster home and now we're all settled in to our new foster home where we'll stay until someone decides that they can't live without us in their lives. Memo and me have been together all of our lives and Foster Mom says that we'll get to stay together!

As you can see I'm very handsome. Foster Mom says that I'm as sweet as I am good looking. I settled in to my new digs really quickly. I love napping in the big soft millie beds and looking out the window at all the birds and animals that go through the yard. I love it when Foster Mom sits with me and scratches behind my ears and under my chin. I show her how much I love it with purrs and lots of head butts.

If you've got a heart full of love for two down on their luck boys and fingers that can scratch and pet us - thumbs are important too so you can open cat food cans - then why don't you ask about me, Maxx, and Memo too!
Notes from Home
tried to upload photos but the error message says I am not the adopter of this cat. Tell that to Maxx!!!!
Both are doing well. After two weeks I have a lapful of cats as of this weekend.

4/1/14: Maxx saw the vet last week. He periodically gets a long-acting antibiotic shot to help control his severe gum disease. The shot helps his "death breath," too. He showed a half-pound weight gain at his last visit, so his renal disease seems stable. Maxx and Memo demand to be under the covers during these cold winter nights. I think we all benefit from this. I usually have a warmer on my back and on my front. I can expect Maxx to be standing on my chest and announcing that he is ready for breakfast about a half-hour before the alarm clock announces the start of day. He and Memo have their same names, same personalities and seem to be glad they are with me.

3/2016 Maxx lives on though he seems to be melting away before my eyes. He has lost more than a third of his body weight as he absorbed muscle to get the protein he needs in his bloodstream. He is weakening and has trouble jumping onto the bathroom sink where he likes to get water.

3/6/2016 MAXX fell today and dislocated his right foot. He could not walk or stand, and could not get to the litter box. He stopped eating three days ago and lost even more weight. Beth and I took him tonight to the emergency vet and he was euthanized. Maxx lived with me for nearly three years with advanced kidney disease. He had a huge appetite and a loud and lusty purr. That, too, stopped three days ago. I have been blessed by his presence, by that purr. My last view of him was those sapphire blue eyes staring out of the carrier. It was time to say good-bye.

Notes from Home
May 7, 2015 - Moony is settling in very well. We have her in her own room and she was willing to come out and eat with us in the room (at the other end) by the end of the first night. By the next morning, she would come out with some coaxing and purr up a storm when we petted her. Last night she started looking like she wanted to play rather than just get attention. I tossed a toy and she pounced on it, I tossed it again and she pounced on it, wrestled, kicked, then carried it off with her. Today we introduced her to a toy on a string on a wand. She LOVED it and when I took it away after a few minutes she spent the next several minutes systematically searching the room for that toy. She seems to not at all be bothered by the trains passing by or the comments from the other cats on the other side of the door. We don't want to introduce them until we get her checked and get everyone's claws trimmed.

May 17, 2015 - We are experimenting with different names for 'Moony'. She was very well behaved at the vet visit and was up to 6.4 lbs. We have been transitioning her to the food that the boys eat and there seems to be no GI distress. She has settled into her room VERY well. We have let her loose in the house (with the boys locked up and after several hours she was curled up on the clean laundry taking a bath. We have started face-to-face introductions. The first one didn't go well (Touchstone got terrified and I got scratched in his eagerness to get out of town. However, since then things have gone well. She and Feste have gotten the closest and while she warns him to not come too close if he is looking at her. When he isn't looking at her she will approach him. This morning she jumped over the cat tree (on its side for now) to land about 8 inches from him. He looked a little startled but other than that didn't really react. If she hisses, he will hiss back but his posture is very calm. Hers is fairly calm as well she just doesn't want him looking at her from too close a space and he is giving her that space. Touchstone is staying about 8-10 feet back watching with interest. She is very demanding of attention when we are in there with her alone and is starting to want some attention when the door is open. We are still separating them when we aren't at home and today is the first time we are letting them together without one of us right there to watch though I am keeping my ears open.

May 20, 2015 - the 3 cats are now fully integrated. The most worried of the existing cats was playing with one of his favorite toys this morning. She and Feste are getting close to each other and trying to figure out how to play. She ended up taking control of the toy-on-a-string session last night. She is comfortable enough with the boys to turn her back on them to take a bath and comes waltzing through the doorway around them (though she will accelerate a bit). She has been running all over the house and really playing with the various toys when we throw them for her. She is learning our routines and setting herself up for meeting us where we can pet her or play with her as we do things. When my Mom came to let her out a couple of days ago she was willing to play with Mom as well.

June 2, 2015 - The 3 cats are becoming very well integrated. Chris & I were on vacation and my Mom cat-sat for us. 'Moony' quickly learned that Mom had the same rules we do (it rains in the bathroom, it rains if you try to get to our food). She started doing lap sitting with Mom and really latched onto her. To the point that she would shove one of the boys out of the way if Mom was petting them. She and Feste are starting to really play with each other. There is still the occasional hiss to indicate desire for personal space but that is all. She is incredibly athletic and creative in her play (I've never seen any cat bunny-kick a cat tree while climbing the trunk).

June 22, 2015 - the 3 cats are very well integrated now. I have seen some play behavior in all of the 2-cat permutations. Touchstone took the longest but he is now willing to hunker & pounce toward her face (quick paw to the forehead then sit and look). We had some visitors on Friday afternoon and all three came out to say howdy and 'Moony' put on quite a show playing with toys and running around. She has really learned our routines and sets herself up as toll-keeper to insist on attention at strategic locations and times.

November 2015 - we are sticking with the new name we came up with "Schlau Mau" aka clever cat. She is very clever and thinks things through. She has a routine where I am expected to worship her when I come out from taking my middle of the night medication. I can now trim the claws on one complete paw before she says "enough". She is sleeping on the bed with the boys but not in a heap (yet) and it is hard to believe we have only had this wonderful little girl for 6 months.

March 2016 - She is getting more and more comfortable with us and demanding of attention. I have seen her exchange a quick lick with Touchstone. She is often sleeping on the bed with me (though not against me). We still regularly see all combinations of a pair of the cats (and occasionally all three) go flying by.

Oh, I am just living the life of luxury now. I real bed, a real human, all the chow I want to eat, and my teeth got all fixed up. I get to snooze wherever I want -- my cardboard box, the cat perch, the sofa, the bed with the human. It's all good! I don't see out of my one eye, but I get around just fine with one, thank you very much. I tilt my head sometimes, and the vet doesn't know why, and I'm not telling. My fur is getting so soft.

I get along great with all the other cats here, and I even like the dog. A wonderful rescue angel has even sponsored me to help me get adopted. Ask about me and foster mom will tell you more about me! I'm a big hunk o' purring chocolate boy.

Charlie is the absolute purfect cat. He is starting to become a bit more assertive as he gets used to living here. When he wants my attention he pats my hand or will grab it in his teeth. not a nip, but an action to let me know my hand should be petting him instead of what it is doing. He had difficulty getting up on the bed so if he had to get off for some reason he stayed off the rest of the night. now there is an antique child's chair only ten inches high beside the bed. He is up and down all the time and even sleeps there in the day now. He has the chair down pat. He walks around gargeling which I have not figured out what he is talking about yet. An old cat living with an old woman. He is uncomfortable being picked up, having his feet touched, and having his belly touched. He goes to the vet this coming week to meet his new doctor.

Hi, my name is Bunny. I came here quite scared and very skinny, but I am now gaining weight and getting braver.

I'll probably always be a "ghost" cat when you have company, but if you take the time to win my trust, I'll sit next to you and purr and talk to you while you pet me. I still don't like to be held, but do like being close to you.

I know I'm special, and will need a special, patient, adopter. Do you think that might be you? If so, ask about me and maybe I can become your special girl.

Update; I'm finally brave enough to stay out of my playpen all the time. I do ok with all the boys here, too!

Notes from Home
Well, after a week of laying in the floor singing"China Girl" to her,the little fluffer nutter has become more outgoing. She never did answer to Bunny for me so I re-named her Michiko Ame, or Mimi for short. She sleeps with me and lets me know when it's time to get up and fill the food bowl. She loves her wand toy and her cat tree, but under the couch is still her favorite nap spot. Every day is better and better and I couldn't ask for a sweeter kitty. 8-1-15

Four months later and an almost completely different cat has emerged! She is so sweet and playful. She jumps a foot in the air to snatch her wand toy and gets the kitten crazies every night. She's interested in everything and not bothered by noises at all. She has been behind the couch only when I had a weekend guest, who she actually came out to see! In short Michiko has come so far out of her shell that it's amazing. She gets called Queenie more than Fluffernutter these days because she is definitely the queen of the house. I'm so happy to have her.

We've passed the six month mark with flying colors. Not only is she sweet, she has become a real talker. Her assortment of mis and mers and merfs are a kick, except at five in the morning! SHe loves to give me the stare, as though using kitty ESP on me. I don't think it's working that well, or maybe she is always thinking of treats.. The birdfeeder has kept her entertained this winter and Santa brought her some new feather wands to pounce on too. I think she is a happy kitty. I know I'm a happy owner. .

Foster Notes

I'm trying to be patient while waiting for my very own home. I'm not a little kitten like my buddies here, but I am a kitten at heart and run and play and get them to chase me. I love playing. I love people and am a great lap kitty and give lots of headbutts and purrs. I'm curious but foster mom says I am a pest at times but I love to supervise and I do an excellent job. .
Notes from Home
Another year has flown by and Zuzu is still doing great. We had one minor incident with an apparent food sensitivity but after a cortisone shot and switch to a limited ingredient diet, all is well. She has never met a stranger and welcomes all who come to the house.

Zuzu is still doing great. She gets along with her brothers Leo Trout and Chai Pep (aka Chili Pepper). I am thinking of getting her qualified to visit nursing homes. I think she would be a champ at it- loves people, loves attention, and nothing fazes her.

The pic is typical Zuzu. She think's she's found a loophole in the "no cats on the counter" rule. And how can I argue with that face?

March 2015

Zuzu's great. I am so pleased that she has lost 3 pounds since she arrived here (she was overweight). The vet was very pleased with her condition at her recent visit. Of course, she is still trying to convince me that I am starving her to death. :-)

Everybody who comes here loves her. She greets everyone and demands attention from them. She still fetches the little plastic balls with the bell inside. I have to throw it just right down the hallway or she will come back and scold me. So funny!

I am blessed to have three great meezers who all get along. All were cats that somebody else didn't want. Thanks to Siamese Rescue for all that you do!

(Last update: Mar 3rd, 2016 3pm)

I looked pitiful, in my first photo, but that was me in the shelter. Now I'm in a safe place and already had a bath and feel better. I was so good for that, and now I have a soft bed to snuggle into. I'm skinny and need to eat all the good stuff I'm given here so I can be as handsome as I was meant to be.

I had my "education" yesterday and did fine, and now I'm going to eat my time away until Meowmy finds me my forever home.

Ask about me but I won't be ready to go home until around the 22nd of Feb., so for now I'm going to chill out and settle in.

Mac is doing fantastic. He is a very loving and affectionate cat. He has fit right into our family. I can't tell you how much we love him. He gets along with all our pets. Sammi our other cat, has accepted that he is not going anywhere. She is letting him get a little closer everyday. They do play together all the time.

Mac has been the perfect addition to our family. He has built a beautiful relationship with every person and pet in our home. He has just had a check up and his yearly vaccines. All good. He just has such a beautiful personality. My kids tease and say he is my favorite. Because I never have anything negitive to say about him. LOL

This cat will not tolerate any other cats in the home. A dog may still be a possibility though.Must be Only Cat
Must have: Busy household, lots of kids, dogs would be great, lots of playtime and snuggling!
Notes from Home
Roman is doing so well. He is an exceptionally happy, curious, and loving kitty. We dote on him and he returns the favor, following us from room to room and greeting us whenever we come home. He loves to play (we got him Da Bird-- great toy for any kitties reluctant to play!) and is constantly rolling over to ask for belly rubs.

He adjusted within a day and now he owns the place. And us. He is the most loving and caring cat and is already tuned in with how we are feeling! He likes to do things the same time that we do them-- eat when we eat, sleep when we sleep, etc. It's very endearing.

We couldn't have asked for a better cat. Absolutely no behavioral or medical issues. Just pure love.

We decided to keep his name because it fits him. He's 15 pounds of handsome, adoring Siamese kitty, and the name Roman just works. We've renamed our apartment The Empire in his honor. :)

Notes from Home
Hi, all. This is Simon, checking in at the 2 year mark. I am a very happy boy. I love laps - anyone who is sitting on the sofa, the floor, the bed is fair game for me. I saw the vet yesterday for my check-up, and he raved about what a sweet, beautiful boy I am. I am still big at 15 lbs, but lost some weight from last year and I'm still working on it. I'm a busy guy though, and spend lots of time chasing my gal pal Fiona around the house. She gets a bit hissy about it sometimes, but then she'll turn around and chase me, so I know she really likes me.

I have identified all the good sunning spots in the house, have a hidden stash of de-tailed furry mice somewhere (none of the humans seem to know where.) I no longer eat out of anxiety (from my kitten days) and love my people. I don't like to get picked up - I'll mew in my tiny little voice - but I will be all over you once you put me down!

I am so happy here in Harrisburg! My family loves me and are so glad I came to stay. My pictures do not do me justice, but here are a couple just to give you an idea of how I look now.

Hello to Everybody at SCRC! I'm updating you on my happy self. I am the ruler of my household. I sit on laps, I take over the beds, I sprawl on the couch and snooze in the sun. I love my boys (teenagers have comfy beds, don'cha know) and sleep on Mom's feet every night.

My annual check-up went great, and (as usual) everyone at the vet's raved about how handsome and sweet I am. Don't like that thermometer, though. I was totally calm about getting in my carrier to go, but Fiona had to kick up a big fuss and got me riled up. I don't usually meow, but I sang all the way to the vet's!

Still a big boy, but healthy. I'm a happy lug here in Harrisburg. Sure am glad I made it to Siamese Rescue as a kitten. Shout-out to Jen, who was my awesome foster mom! Make sure you check out my new close-up!

Simon 3/19/11

Happy 4 Year Anniversary! Simon here, checking in to let you know that I continue to be happy, healthy, and thriving in Harrisburg, PA! Everyone knows I am top cat here. I was driving Miss Fiona a little crazy by wanting to chase her, so in June I got my very own kitten, Boomer.

Boomer was the runt of his litter of barn cats. His head was twisted sideways, but the dad of the family that rescued him is a chiropractor and worked on him until he was all fixed. You'd never know he had a problem. He came to live with me when he was 9 weeks old, and I spent almost 2 weeks wondering what was behind that door! Now Boomer is my buddy. We play chase and wrestle, and I have even lost a little weight from the exercise! We hang out together and I let him groom me, which is very nice.

Everybody loves me. One of my boys will be going to college in the fall - I don't know how I will feel about this, but his bed will continue to be MINE. At night, I am part of the 3 Cat Wall Box around meowmy.

Thanks to everybody at SCRC who helped me to find my way home. This is the BEST!

Simon 3/15/12

Hello Everybody! Simon here, celebrating my 8th anniversary of coming home!

I am a big, happy, snuggly bundle of Siamese love. Just had my yearly check up and got a full dental cleaning. My teeth look gorgeous! I have all my favorite lounging spots, and none of my feline siblings dare to take them without asking first. For the first time in the 4 years since Boomer came to live with me, I have discovered that it is really, really nice to cuddle with him. Mom is surprised every time she finds us together, but she's so happy for us to have found a new bond. I still bother Fiona, but even she is willing to hang out with me sometimes.

I love my home and my people. I will always be grateful to SCRC for helping me find my way home.

I'm not a girl after all! I'm a really nice guy!!!! Foster Mom took me in for my exam today and boy was she surprised! It's amazing I'm still so sweet because I was walking around with a 22 caliber bullet under my right front leg but the doctor took it out. Foster mom still has it if you don't believe me! I also limp on my back right leg. Know why? It was broken by another gun shot wound but it was a long time ago and it's all healed but it healed a little crooked so that's why I limp. It doesn't hurt or keep me down or anything like that. It just makes me more charming. So, if you weren't asking about me because you thought I was a girl, ask about me now if you're looking for a really great guy!

7/3/09 I just arrived after being sprung from a few days in the shelter. I was wandering around the streets and got busted. My past is a mystery to everyone but my future is bright! Even though foster mom doesn't know much about me she does know that I'm a really nice laid back gal. I took my bath and nail trimming like a champ. Check back for more updates as foster mom and dad get to know me but please feel free to ask about me and get on my list and foster mom will keep you updated with all the news about me.

Notes from Home
Dillinger lost his playmate Carina (previously Calypso) in May 2015. It took him 5 months before he would go to the window area where they both slept and looked out the window after she passed away. I wanted to see how he would do without her before determining whether he would like another playmate. He is very affectionate (always has been). He takes advantage of me by manipulating more food when he wants it as to when a logical schedule would allow. He loves to play with his squishy sparkly balls and wand toy. He is such a love bug that it is difficult to wake up for work because that would mean I would have to separate from his arms around my neck and his face on my cheek. He likes to be wherever I am and prompts me if I am not giving him 100% of my attention (he is so right!) If not with me he likes to have a sight line of me in the apt. He has always been a little soldier/sentry. In the evenings and mornings he would usually do his paces through the hallway like he was checking the area out before all of us emerged from the bedroom or bathroom.

Joey is now DILLINGER and he is such a sweetheart! He loves spooning...as I do with him. Carina sleeps in between my legs under the covers and as long as she is unawre of his presence on the bed, he will nest himself next to my head and chest. If Carina comes up for air from under the covers and discovers him, he will quickly get down and she will assume the sentry position on the bed.

They take turns chasing each other and yesterday Carina was roosting on the bathtub ledge between the shower curtain and liner. Dillinger got on his hind legs as best he could and forcefully shoved her shadow with his front paws. She flew into the tub. She was physically fine and when I looked in the tub, she had an expression that said, "What the h*** was that sh** about?!" Dillinger has amazingly strong arms...I suspect from when he was healing from his gunshot wound, he was using his upper body and arms entirely.

October 2009 - Carina is now allowing Dilinger to sleep on the bed at nights! Of course, there are conditions - my body has to serve as an island between them (Carina to my left, Dillinger to my right) and only Carina is allowed under the covers with me...unless we can sneak him under the covers after she has drifted off to sleep.

I was cooking late Friday night for a dinner party and was pleased and surprised to find them both lying at my feet in the kitchen playfully flittering their paws together...needless to say the little spats crop up every now and then, but it does get better and better between them every day.

I see them in my bay window when I come home at night with Dillinger sometimes trying to hide part of himself behind the curtain - as if I won't see him. I can now even have them both each together on teh kitchen floor instead of having Carina eat on the counter.

July 2013 Update:

Carina and Dillinger their friendliness to each other. Carina more often goes to Dillinger and tucks in under his paws and awaits him licking her head and ears. She accepts his bear hugs and occasionally when it si far too much together time, Carina and Dilinger will give each other slaps and move on.

A coupl e of years ago Carina required the remainder of her teeth to be removed. What an improvement it made to her disposition.

Dillinger has always been a practical guy and loves breaking down boxes and shredding newspapers recently. The newspaper shredding happens when he feels he needs to be fed again (usually within a coupl e of hours from a previous feeding). At times I think Carian and Dillinger are working together - if they are not getting what they want immediately and there is nothing for Dilinger to shred on the floor or within his reach, Carina accommodates him by knocking over my mail from a higher table in ordetr fo rhism to have something to shred.

Dillinger is like a soldier (I suspect from his on the street days). In the mornings, he likes to patrol the apt - wlaking back and forth, keeping an eye on where me and Carina Jr. are with the usual lying in doorways that afford him full view of the majority of the apt. The chasing he and Carina do has improved his agility despite his weight gain (of which I am trying to reduce). He hops up on coffee table he wasn't savy doing so in the past. I wouldn't be surprised if he does push ups while I am work.

As Carina is leaner and more agile than he, he can get seemingly jealous if he feels she is getting more food than he does. They will be going for their annual vet visit (shots, etc) in about a week. I will need to prepare early in order to get them in their carriers (Dillinger more so). He is something of a stratgegist who is always wise to my tactics (including somet pictures).

(Apologies...I had submitted the following update at the top of all the comments - was doing it from iPad and it was difficult to scroll down so I wanted to include properly— I noticed it shows Number of Cats 0 in the Application Progress. I still have 1 cat (Dillinger; the 2nd cat I had, Carina passed away last year) Dillinger lost his playmate Carina (previously Calypso) in May 2015.
