Lafitte (nicknamed Lil Bit) had some digestive issues and the sniffles at first, We took him to the vet and he is quite recovered by now. He's enjoying chasing Desi around throughout the house and enjoyed his bath from Big Bro Fuzzie.

Well I guess my 'puter ate my notes, so I'll try again!

Every time we play together, I thank the SRC, foster mom Debra, interviewer Peggy and the drivers in the Meezer Express ... what a great group!

You can reference Desdemona for our activities ... she may be the leader but Lafitte is a willing and creative accomplice. We had a great time bonding during the winter, but now that we have the three season room open more ( a deck with floor to ceiling screens and vinyl windows) they are all hanging out there more. Cat heaven!

BTW, he loves chicken, tuna and ice cream! He always checks out my dinner!

6/28 Look at how big and silky he is! He is still the same creamy color with the flame points.

8/31 We love that tail!

11/15 He's a special guy ... this is him with big bro "Fuzzie" on the cat tree in the living room

2/07/16 On our 1 yr Arrival Day .... Thanks again to the Meezer Express ... Meowmy thinks we may have some rag doll in us

I like to talk - even when eating. A girl's got a lot to say, you know. I have met the dog here and he is OK. I like to run around and play.
Notes from Home
Desdemona is happily scampering around her new home, where she is definitely the princess to the three boys! Both she and Lafitte have favorite spots (on our laps) or around my neck. Our big boys have sniffed them all over and pronounced them acceptable, so integration has gone well. She loves the cat tree and napping by the fireplace. We are having a lot of fun!

Desdemona has acquired the nickname "Miss Imp" ... I wonder why! At 5 mos she and her brother can get into a lot of mischief! I've had to sequester pill bottles that make such a great sound when she chases them around, red Solo cups that get dragged in her mouth, and my fuzzy earmuffs, among other things. Oh, and she plays with wands and balls and mice! But she is so affectionate she can be found sleeping in laps, on shoulders or tummies, and she'll make sure to get between us and the newspaper, book, or Kindle

6/28 -- Desdemona gets bigger and cuter every day! She and brother Lafitte love the three season room (which is essentially a screened porch with windows). Her coat has darkened to a light grey down the back but everyone loves her facial stripe and her fuzzy tail.
11/15 Here they are at their 1 yr birthday in the sun room!

Was your New Year's resolution to firm up those flabby arms? to lose weight? to tone and trim your waist line? Why waste money on hand weights and boring workouts....adopt this gorgeous guy to lift and tote instead. 13 pounds of silky fur is much more fun to lift and carry and he talks back to encourage your efforts even more!

***After discussion with Ghost's vet, the decision has been made to limit Ghost's transport range to within one hour of foster home (Bloomington, IN). Ghost does not do well in carrier, becomes frantic, howls and thrashes to escape to the point of injurying himself. Therefore the shortest transport possible is in his best interest.

Feb. 2016

Sweet Sam has now been my velcro boy for five years and I cant imagine life without him! We had a scare late last summer when we found out he had several cancerous tumors removed. Luckily, we caught the slow growing histamine fed tumors early and all were removed successfully. He incisions have healed well with only a slight scar on his hip, amazing since so much tissue and skin was removed all over his body. Sam has fully recovered and never let this blip change his ever-loving purrsonality.
My best buddy, cuddle bug and soul kitty...sweet Sam!

Always the runner up...the bridesmaid...2nd or 3rd choice. Maybe if I start depositing golden eggs. Well I've been growing up and now.my nickname is "Princess".

So why am I still here? Well, since I wasn't with a mama long enough I didn't learn some manners I needed. Occasionally I will give you a NIP. So...no little children would be best. I just need someone that understands and is patient with me. So now that we've started out our relationship honestly...whew I feel better.

I LOVE playing! No worries because....I have invisible friends and they are coming too. I also adore dogs! I play with cats that I can boss around and luckily foster mom " socializes" kittens and I help her.

I've never met a stranger!

Kiara (whom we call Sassy) is settling in well. She is playful and happy. Her appetite and litter box habits are good. We have found some toys that she really, really likes which keeps her busy. After playtime, Sassy becomes the best lap cat. Amazingly she sleeps through the night in bed with us.

Quince is winter surprise delight just as the first Quince blossoms. A darling sprite of spring. Jees. Foster mom is really overboard.
And it is only January. Check out my new pictures. I am pretty cute.

I tried to check in at the Holiday Inn Express, but they said I needed a bean with me to do that. I tried hard to pick one up outside the front door, but when it came down to it I accepted those Wendy's chicken and burger treats and then got scared. If I had only known how good it was inside I would not have been frightened. I am making up for lost time now. I have made so many biscuits in one day that foster mom says there would be enough to feed the HHI patrons for a week or two.

PS. I love a Millie bed and a window perch.

Our princess Quince is doing fabulous! She is maturing into a wonderful young lady. She still enjoys sitting in the window and watching for birds & squirrels and the outside cats that sneak up onto our back porch. She has had no health issues and all her vet trips -she gets a thumbs up. She has learned to get along with Mister Mister. We rescued him a year ago from Siamese rescue. They play chase and roll around. She loves his baths. It's funny that she does not reciprocate. She is a total "mouser" - she catches any kind of insect that might be crawling along...which Mister Mister has no desire to even look, but Quince is always ready to pounce. We love having our little snow shoe!

It's the 5 yr anniversary and Quince is as wonderful as ever. She is such a great blend of Miss Independence but loves to have her chair time with us on the couch. She continues to have great Vet check ups and no problems. She has such energy when playing around her cat tree - and in the middle of the night chasing her mice. I think adding her brother Mister Mister was wonderful and they have become great friends.

Sweet , shy little boy, looking for a home with another cat he can be buddies with!
Notes from Home
I can't believe it's been 2 years since Biscuit (formerly Dobie) has been with us. Although he is still very skittish and is by no means a lap cat, he has us trained on when he wants us to pet him and has not problem vocalizing his needs. Him and Katie get along fine but since Katie is a senior now she lets him know when she is not interested in playing. Biscuit was diagnosed with an immunity problem and is prone to eye infections, but we were given medications for his eyes and treat it as soon as it appears.
We love Biscuit and are happy to have this be his forever home.

Hi there! My name is Smokey, for my smoldering good looks and satiny smooth personality. I'm looking for a quiet home with just a couple of big cats with opposable thumbs to open those little cans of food, and to pet me and love me. I've been in a busy home before and it's just not my style. I'm just chillin', waiting for you to push that 'adopt me' button.

Here's a 10 month update on Smokey.

Where to begin? To start, we now call him "Smokes" or "Smoke" for short, formally, he is still Smokey. He is quite possibly the BEST kitty in the whole world!! He's a loving, friendly, talkative, gorgeous, playful, sleepy, snuggling, spoiled Siamese boy who loves attention! Sometimes, we will take glamour shots, seriously, just look through the pictures. He's very photogenic.

He's most talkative in the mornings when he craves his Fancy Feast, and as soon as we get home from work, especially when he wants you to sit down so he can start his nightly biscuit making on your belly. He does exceptionally well with his scratching post, and that's the one thing I was nervous about in the beginning, however, he does prefer the rope style posts best. Only not-so-positive thing, he LOVES to pounce on and attack our feet that are under the covers, but will run as soon as I reach for the water bottle. :-)

Best of all, we have potty trained Smokes to use the toilet! When I adopted him, I was informed that he was surrendered due to him not using the litter box, and instead would have accidents all over the house. Clearly, the former owner had something preventing him from using the box. When I first got him, he used the box all the time, and now, as an adult cat, he has easily adapted to using a human toilet. I could not be happier! :-D

We love our blue eyed baby!!

Well, after waiting for what seemed forever, I was finally sprung from the shelter. Meowmy picked me up, gave me a bath, clipped my claws, and loved on me, and I purred the whole time. I was so good for my bath, I just sat in the sink while she rubbed me all over. It felt sooooo good to be clean again.

I don't like the other cats here, so I"ll need to be your only cat. Check out the video meowmy took of me.

So for now........purrs

Notes from Home
Only 4 years? It seems like my Mom and I have been together forever. She told me her goal was to get me under the covers and snuggle....well how could I resist? I still like to test her with my food desires, sending her off to find new types of food for me from time to time. ( I am a Siamese after all)!
My vet gave me another great bill of health. Yippee!
My Mom tells me I am a rascal. I have no idea what that means but I know it must be a good thing cuz she adores me!

Happy 3rd anniversary to me! I am just so relaxed and content. My Mom happens to be away for a few days visiting my human 1 yr old cousin but has a very nice lady cat lover staying with me so I don't get lonely. She keeps telling me I'm a doll baby!
I have already seen my sweet vet for my check up and all is well. weight good, no more lost teeth, my coat looks amazing....my mom brings me for mani-pedis every 6 weeks. I like it better when they do it!

Thank you all for your continued best wishes. You really are so great at what you do....this is what my mom tells me ALL the time.

Marney is a sweetheart! On our way home she purred the entire time. She has adjusted well.
She is officially my alarm clock. ^ am I wake to the sound on little claws on her scratching post and after some petting off we go for a bit of play time before breakfast. She seems to enjoy her quiet time during the day and by dinner her spunk reappears! She loves her feather wand and hiding in her cube.
A good match made possible by the great volunteers!
More stories to come.........
Marney and Leigh

Hi everyone!
I went to meet my new Vet today. She is awesome, very gentle and caring. My Mom sat in the car with me until the office was ready to bring me into the room so I wouldn't have to listen to those annoying dogs. They're SO rambunctious!
I received a clean bill of health and a booster shot. My Mom was so amazed at how sweet I was...didn't whine, sat nice and still and was happy to be back home afterwards.
I am really quite happy here. Had another friend over today to visit. She and her family have two cats and she knows just how to rub me. She also brought me new mice to play with.........what fun!
I had a photo shoot yesterday and hope my Mom can get them "published" for you all to see soon! Watch for my beauty shots........I look amazingly pretty and well groomed. ( My Mom's a hairstylist)!
I'm going to take a power nap now................

I am feeling more at home and love my Mom's kisses. I have found a comfy spot in a basket in the closet filled with soft scarfs where I feel safe and sleep during my down time during the day. I am now inching closer to my Mom at night in bed under the covers. Yeah! I've decided to be a bit of a Diva with my food choices and sending her to the store for all sorts of selections just to see what she brings home.
The feather toy that the Siamese Rescue folks sent home with me is still my favorite! Thanks guys!

Marney's 4 month anniversary is today. She has made so many strides in her sense of security. As hoped, she has made her way up the bed at bedtime and snuggles for a few minutes before heading back to the foot of the bed.
She is clearly feeling much more comfortable in her new surroundings, getting used to the new sounds and daily activities. Now she only hides for 5 minutes after the vacuum is put away! She no longer sleeps in the closet during the day choosing to sleep on a chair basking in the sun instead. She loves watching the birds fly by.
Her favorite toy remains the boa wand Siamese Rescue sent along with her!
Marney is a very sweet girl and with each week I see her becoming more affectionate.

She keeps me laughing at some of her antics........I always know when she's "hit "the fresh catnip mouse!

Cheers to all!
Marney and Leigh

July 4
Happy Fourth of July.
Marney's five month anniversary is today.
She is really such a sweet girl.
Becoming more and more affectionate, I am waking to her face on mine! How I love that feeling.
I am so happy that she has a safe and loving home that she so deserves and that she is clearly feeling at home with me.

August 4
Thanks to Siamese Rescue for your 6 month congrats email!
The honeymoon is not over!
This darling kitty has clearly made great strides. She is now lying on her favorite chair and puts her head back so I can stroke her neck and chin. A sure sign of feeling secure !She does let me know when she's had enough....oh those girls, gotta love them for speaking their minds!
I adore her and can safely say she is feeling quite content with her adopted mom.
She continues to entertain me. Each morning I find a different toy placed on her food tray sometimes 3 or 4.
She somehow found a forgotten tissue insert that comes with new shoes and decided that it made a great toy. The next morning it was in her food dish. So cute.
She spends more time next to me and I'm fairly certain that this winter I may be able to tuck away my electric blanket!
Cheers to all of you devoted volunteers! A special thanks to Emily, Jeanne, Suri and all the dedicated drivers for bringing us together.
Marney and Leigh

P.S. My sister came to feed her while my brother-in-law waited in the car. He became concerned when she took so long...... giving lots of.pets and loves. I'm not sure I want her checking on her anymore, she might kidnap her she thinks Marney is so cute!

August 30th 2012
Almost 7 months together and we are a pair! After learning each others preferences and quirks we have truly bonded. Marney is more loving and trusting as each day passes. I absolutely adore my girl! I actually was allowed to clip all front claws today. Yippee! She is more receptive to pets and holding for longer periods of time. Lucky me!
Thank you all for all of your time committed to these wonderful cats and dedication to their care.
Leigh and Marney

Sept 21
My Mom adores me so I have decided to show my total confidence in her. She kept bringing home new toys which I have NO interest in so she finally stopped and now I can just do what I like best. Run, jump, hide and surprise and play with my aluminum foil balls as well as my mandatory love sessions.

She has figured me out and has given me time to feel completely safe. The game is over and I can relax and be my darling, loving self.
P.S. I am running the house, but don't tell her!

December 20th 2012
Marney is well and happy.
We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a New Year of great connections of meezers and their forever homes.
Warm wishes,
Marney and Leigh

February 4th 2013
My first Anniversary! Yippee! It has been an interesting year. Learning each others habits and likes we have become great friends. Snuggles and face rubs are my favorites. I like giving my Mom kisses on her nose and she gives me kisses all over.
November was my Rabies shot...I was sweet as always!
I went to see my Vet last month for a check up. As we already knew, my teeth are not my best quality so Mom had to take me back the next week for cleaning and 3 extractions! I did very well and took my antibiotics for 7 long days.Mom bought me baby food so it was easier for me to eat for a few days. I was so sweet during my recovery. Then Mom brought home Royal Canin oral sensitive dry food and I actually really like it.
Over the last year I managed to drop one pound and the Vet seems to think I am really healthy and have a very soft healthy coat! Pretty and sweet girl is what I hear a lot!
Thank you for your nice Anniversary message.
I am very content and happy in my loving home.

Hello all,
Just a quick update. SO settled in and taken over...Mom is thrilled that I am completely at home and the snuggle bug she knew I truly was. Life is good. Days spent lounging, eating and watching the birds and running crazily around for my cardio workout. My favorite sport, however, is waking Mom between 4 and 6 am with nibbles on her arm, foot or face for food or play depending on the day. She eventually does what I ask....like I said life is good.
Best to all,
Marney and Leigh

I'm Woody and I'm a lover. Just livin' up to my flame point boy reputation! I like to talk and chirp. And I love to cuddle with hoomans. I love other cats too, but I want to tell you about a special girl, Cipria VA4641, we make a great pair of Ringtail bookends. We have SO much fun running and wrestling together. She cleans me up if I get dirty too. We get along so well, please consider having both of us! It's Ringtail Siamese love!

Got a note today for Woody's 9 year anniversary with us. We lost his sister, Lil' Bit, in October and he was soooo very lonely. He'd never been an "only" before. The end of October we drove to GA and picked up Charlie, a little Tortie with only one eye. We are still working on getting these 2 together. Turns out Charlie was a lot older than we first thought and pretty set in her ways. We got her through Siamese Rescue also, and she is teeny tiny and adorable. They both want to be the alpha and so far that's not going too well. But, we keep trying. Woody is now considered a senior, I guess, but still loves to play and sing and talk. All of our friends and family love him and want to take him home with them whenever they visit. Talk about purrrrsonality - Woody is wonderful. We love him so much. He's doing great and his last check-up went really well, too.

Lil' bit? I'm anything but little. I'm one of those old-fashioned apple head meezers that you don't see much any more. More about me soon - but my shelter paperwork said that I liked other cats, small dogs, and older children. So far I'm a freindly, well-adjusted, and purry guy. And quite the good looking one, if I do say so myself. I'll be meeting the other kitties here this weekend, but so far those paws that go under the door to my room don't bother me at all. I go to the vet this week to make sure all's well, but I'll be ready to go home soon. Need a big blue cat? Then maybe you should ask about me. I'm 9 1/2 pounds of nice tempered, good looking Meezer.
Notes from Home
I can't believe it's already been a year! Quinn continues to blossom in our home and is really a very loving, well adjusted mush of a cat. He loves to play with my daughter and torment our dog and he's taken up permanent residence on our bed during the day. We are just thrilled with our sweet Quinn and very thankful for SCRC!

What a wonderful two years it has been! Quinn continues to thrive and enjoy our family and we just adore him. He is basically a quiet soul who would prefer to have relationships on his own terms. He accepts the dog but I would not say that he loves her. We adopted a Siamese mix kitten from our vet who is the most confident, non-stop bundle of lurching reeling energy and I think she is breathing a little life into our quiet man. It’s fun to hear them galloping around the house. He would prefer not to cuddle with her but she just won’t take no for an answer as you can see from one of the pictures. Thank you again for all you do and for helping us to find such a loving, wonderful addition to our family!

It's been three years since we've adopted Quinn and I can't say enough about how we love him. He's a very sweet - but timid - cat who has really come out of his shell since we adopted a kitten last year. Although he likes to be alone, he loves to wrestle and chase her and will even tolerate her laying next to him on occasion. He's not a huge fan of the dog but I think he likes her too deep down inside. Thanks again - we just adore him!

Four years has gone by in a flash! Quinn continues to be a sweet, gentle soul and we just adore him. His personality continues to blossom each year we have him and he continues to be such a wonderful gift to our family! Thanks again.

We just celebrated Quinn's 5th anniversary in his forever home. He is just the loveliest cat and we can't imagine life without him! Thanks again.

I can't believe it's been 6 years since we've adopted Quinn! He's a very sweet boy who continues to bring us much happiness - thanks again!
