LULU
Young and cute, check out my video for some intense eye gazes and mind melds. I'm ready to go very soon, have some good history about me (just ask!) and while I think I would prefer to be the only cat, I'm friendly, outgoing, smart, curious, interactive, well socialized, fun - shall I go on?

11/1/13 Hi Kathi!
Thanks for the call and checking in. Lulu is doing great and enjoying all her toys!

10/27/14 it's been a great first year LuLu! Thanks so much for everything!

10/27/15 - Lulu is doing great! She gave us a littl scare this year when she had to get a bladder stone removed in May but now she is on a special diet and is back to her normal loving and playful self. We are so happy to have her!

10/27/2016 - Lulu is such a great cat! She loves napping and looking out the window and chirping at the birds in the neighborhood! She brings her humans lots of joy!

10/31/2017 - Lulu is still a fun, loving kitty! She has multiple napping spots at home but loves snuggling up with her humans. Happy Halloween!

MILO
I am bonded to my sister, Millie, so we need to find a home together. We are both scared of our new situation but foster mom says we will come out of our shells with a little time and TLC. Very sweet personalities and affectionate when being held.
Milo

Notes from Home
Milo is doing so well - growing, playing, exploring. He especially enjoys water - not just for drinking! A wet sink is an invitation to play!

May 1, 2017. Milo is just fine. After starting out as a picky eater (think rotisserie chicken) he has become quite happy with cat food! He is active, plays well with Millie, has wonderful litter box habits. Loves to snooze in the guest bedroom - head on the pillow! Shy around strangers but getting more outgoing all the time. A happy, healthy almost 10 months old kitten with a wonderful deep purr.

October 30,2017. Milo remains a happy, healthy, busy boy. He and MIllie are bonded and play together often. Milo is the official household timekeeper - he knows exactly when it is time for a meal to be prepared!

MILLIE
Life started out a bit rough for me and my siblings and we just had one another to cling to for support. My brother, Milo, and I are bonded and rely on one another for moral support, so we need to find a home that will take us as a pair. We are a bit timid but gradually coming out of our shells. We need a little time and patience which will be rewarded with a lot of love and purrs.

Millie is doing great, She is active, becoming more and more talkative and a bit of a ringleader with her sibling, Milo. She loves treats and has a favorite toy that she carries around with her.

May 1, 2017. Millie is doing so well. She is very active - my little acrobat who climbs shelves and "tightrope" walks across the heaboard. She has a healthy appetite and good litter box manners. She is very affectionate - will come and get me when it is time for a good petting. Plays well with her brother - all is well.

Both kittens are doing well and have adapted to a very workable routine.

October 30, 2017. Millie is a happy, playful and healthy young adult. Loves to play with her toys and is very affectionate. SHe is a beautiful young lady.

CURIOUS GEORGE
Hi there! I'm curious George. Meowmy said I was named that because out of the 4 of us royals, I'm the most curious about things. I'm not too shy and want get my nose into everything new to check it out.

I'll let you know how I feel about the other cats here, once she lets me out of the playpen in a week, but go ahead and ask about me. We can decide if I'm a good fit later.

Purrs,

Notes from Home
Cooper's (Curious George) anniversary is at hand and we always remember our road-trip to Jeannes' place to pick him up. We were on the road 10 hours that day, 5 each way. He's no less inquisitive today than he was 4 years ago. He enjoys being outside with us when we work in the yard or garden. We keep both kitties on cord leashes and have tether spots around the property to anchor them. They would get bored staying in any one area too long, when exploring. But when it's time to rest, well, you know...
Cooper is always a hit at the vet. This year he had a 3 yr. Rabies vaccine due to the reaction he had last time. Vet advised giving him 1/2 dose of Benedryl prior to his shot and everything worked out fine.
He still enjoys riding on my shoulder. He now let's me know when he's going to launch, gives a loud meow right before he leaps. My wife now has become his 2nd designated human for shoulder rides. Sue wasn't quite ready for this, but he has her trained now. He always rides the same way, hip on our right shoulder and head on our left. He has become somewhat of a lap-cat for Sue this summer. He seems to like being still and content for longer periods now. But, that being said, he still plays like a kitten and loves climbing some of our trees, even with a leash on.
We happened to be in Hunt Valley, Md this summer and saw a car with a Siamese Rescue sign on the door. A middle aged couple were driving. Would've liked to say hello and let them know they're doing good things.

JOJO
I need a true rescue angel. I hadn't had much human attention, if any, before I was brought to the shelter and then to my foster moms house. It took me almost two months to start letting foster mom pet me and pick me up. I'm still not thrilled with it but it's a start. I still hiss sometimes to remind her that I need more time and space. But I like to follow her around and purr and I LOVE our wand toy play sessions. They are the best part of my day -well that and meal time and treats :). Are you prepared to give me a couple of months to get to know you before I let you pet me? I do need a nice girl kitty as a buddy. I also need to stay inside my transport area and the shorter the trip the better. If you would like a handsome guy like me and you have time and patience to let me settle in on my terms, please ask about me.

Thank you.

Love, Joey

Notes from Home
Joey is doing well. He eats, drinks, and uses the litter box as expected. I continue his Prozac, and will talk to my vet before weaning him off. He explores his room, as I lay on the floor and talk to him. He has played with some of the toys I offer, and watches every move I make. I am encouraged by his demeanor. There seems to be no panic or real fear. He has approached me enough to smell my extended hand, and reached out to touch it gingerly with his paw. No sign of attack. I will update again when there is more to report. We are doing well. Thanks for your help. Gloria

4 Jul 17...Almost afraid to report because I don't want to jinx the progress...... Major breakthrough on the 3rd of July. Between 10 PM & 11 PM Joey became interested in the door to the hall, and while he was occupied with it, I ventured to pet him. He not only allowed, but responded with a very loud purring. He pushed back on my hand almost like a reflex. He must have had someone care for him when he was really little. He allowed skritching to his head, ears and back, along with full body strokes. He allowed again this evening. I have been going into his room, and laying on a body pillow, and reaching my hand over to him. He previously did come close, and touch my hand, as above. I'm so excited with this progress, I don't know what to do. I also spoke with my vet about decreasing his Prozac. Since the pills are so small, and preclude dividing further, he suggested giving every other day for a couple weeks. Will monitor closely to be sure it is OK. I visit him in his room at least 3 or 4 times a day, and use his behavior to determine the length of stay. I'm going to wait and see about the Prozac dose decrease before I attempt to integrate Joey with the three established babies. Thanks for all your support.

12 Jul 17 Joey has become JoJo. He was introduced to Mama Mia (Mia) on 10 Jul, and they spent the day together in his room. On the 11th, the pups had a grooming day, and JoJo was turned loose in the whole house. He has explored well, and he and Mia have had no real hard confrontations. He is not hiding, as I thought he might. He follows her, she hisses a bit but no scraps. He even came to me in the kitchen, and crouched fr a petting. I will send pictures later, but wanted to get this out. He is on every other day Prozac, and I see no changes in his behavior. All seems well at this point. He is well and happy, as is Mia. Thanks again.

VERN
So guess what??? I'm not as shy as I was pretending to be! I'm still a little on the quiet side but I am much braver than I was just the other day. I hop right out of my cage when Foster Mom opens it in the morning, I rub on her legs, I push into her hand when she pets me. Life is good again now that I know I am safe and things aren't so scary any more.

Vern is a delight and very attached to us. Whenever we are around he has to be near, either in the kitchen or watching TV.

He also has his favorite toys that he brings from room to room and to be d with us at night.

He has been to the vet two weeks ago for a check-up and rabies shot. He was about .5 to .75 lbs over weight so he is dieting right now. (I wish I could say the same!)

LAUREN BEAR
Howdy...I'm just a simple little gal looking for a forever family that will allow me to cuddle on their chest while we watch t.v. together & allow me to play with my toys & allow me to sleep with them at night so I can sing my purr lullaby! All I will require is food, loving & a safe & happy forever home.

I must have a friend to play with and if you don't have one, I'm sure my foster mom can help find another kitty on this site to come along too!!!

You can click on that button & ask about me if you want some loving & kisses coming your way!

Purrs,

Notes from Home
Jan 2016: Just wanted to include this in her records - she's allergic to grain/ corn products/peanuts (they cause diarrhea.) I also put a note in her petlink profile.

Sept 2015: Lauren's heartbeat has gotten better recently by increasing one of her meds and she's racing around like a kitten again playing with her toy mice. The other day Bonita wanted to wrestle with her and she bopped Bonita on the head. (No one got hurt) but it was funny. I've taught her to "sit" on command before giving her a (corn and grain free) treat! The other day she hopped up on the dining room table and I said, "Lauren, get down." She promptly sat down on the table, since that's the only command she knows. Her ears perked up and she sat up nice and straight, proud of "obeying the [one] command [she knows.] I just had to laugh. She sleeps next to me every night and still purrs up a storm every day.

March 2014: Lauren's new favorite place is a table I put up next to my bedroom window. She likes watching the outside AND the inside of the house from there.

PS Oct 2013: Lauren is a total love bug. She follows Mommy around in the house and gazes into my eyes, smiling. Purrs easily and often. Loves "bear hugs" in which she gets on my lap then leans up, stands on her back feet and puts her front legs on my shoulders and almost tries to climb on my shoulders, like she's in love. She and Bonita STILL snuggle up together. The other day I came home and found them snuggled up together taking a nap. We're a family for sure.

Oct 2013: JUST so that this is in her file in ase anything happens to me and my cats go back to SCRC: Lauren has a slightly enlarged heart (left ventricle) and her ECK is off, so in addition to her reg vet Great Falls Animal Hospital, I take her to Chesapeacke Veterinary Cardiology Associates in Vienna, VA (phone 703) 281-7717. Currently, she is on 1/4 of a 25mg tab of Atenolol twice a day + one 2.5 mg tab of Enalapril/day + 1/4 of a 75mg generic Plavix tab per day. That's in one morning pill pocket, chicken flavored, and 3 evening pill pockets. She's great about taking them in the pill pockets becuase I tell her they're her "treats." She is acting totally normally. We found this in a routine check up. She also can't eat corn, so Natural Balance and Wellness wet foods are best for her. Due to her heart situation, if dental cleanings or any anesthsia is contemplated, contact CVCA first. She should also not be given steroids, nor IV fluids, at least without contacting CVCA first (she has no need for those now). I brush her and Bonita's teeth about once a day in hopes that they won't need major dental work in the future. Lauren will need check ups with exam, lab tetsts and ECGs probbaly every 6 months. Contact Great Falls Animal Hospital and CVCA for the latest. Thank you!

July 2013: Both Lauren and Bonita are still happy and healthy. Lauren is a little shy but purrs OFTEN. Bonita is very curious and full of energy. We have a new large cardboard box that she loves to play in.

Nov 2012: It's been a year since I adopted them! What more to say? I love these girls. Adding pictures.

July 2012: Lauren also likes to burrow under the bed covers like a mole, not for the purpose of hiding, but to get across the length of the bed and jump out the other side. :)

June 2012: Lauren Bear is the biggest purrer and hugger I have ever known! She jumps up on my lap, has a very loud purr, and hugs and hugs me. She's also very expressive- I can always read her. Very, very loving!

4/30/12
I love both Bonita and Lauren!! I tell them every day how adorable they are.

11/11/11It's all good! They seem to really like it here, love their beds, talk to
me especially as I'm prepping dinner, and they're very purry. They love to
play with the many toys we have here. We've been to the vet and are on a
worming protocol. They're still good buddies. Bonita is a tiny little love
machine, and Lauren purrs almost all of the time and is so sweet. Everyone
is happy. :)

Lauren Bear and Little Bonita are WONDERFUL! I love them so much. They are purr machines and so cuddly. They'll have a very happy and long life here with me. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this possible!

Happy Valentine's Day 2012! Lauren is doing great. She is AMAZING at fetching her mousie toys. She'll drop one by my feet and "chirp" at me. Or, if I say, "Lauren, where's your mousie?" and if it's nearby, she will go fetch it. When I hold it up before I throw it she watches my hand INTENTLY, then as I throw it she does some more "chirping" (like a purry meow or a trill) as she dashes off after it and brings it back to me. We do that again and again and again and again. Often that's how I wake up in the morning - with her and her toy mousie chirping at me to play a while before I get out of bed.
Lauren's nick names are "Baby Girl" (I use that for Bonita too) and "Fetches Mice." She loves to purr and jump on my lap and nuzzle me. Often if I'm on the couch both Lauren and Bonita will be there next to me. They're getting along well- they have their special "ribbon wand" time at night when we all play together. Lauren will sometimes go after the feather wand and jump up like a bucking bronco, race around, and stalk the feather again- she really gets into it. :)

March 2012: I thought of another nick name for Lauren: "mouse monkey." She still fetches her mice and brings them back, like a puppy. Sometimes she'll also burrow under the covers, not really to get warm, but to tunnel through to the other side, like a mole. She purrs a lot. She's started "wrestling" with a blanket: She'll bite it and toss it around from side to side, or roll in it, like a puppy. :)

BOYD
I'm the other half of the pair! I'm a bit more reserved at first, but I follow Lewis's lead. I love to be held, and I talk a bit more than he does. But we are a fabulous pair - doesn't get any better than us! He's dark and handsome, and I'm red and handsome. And like Lewis, my bloodwork is good although I'm painfully thin right now. Turns out that I'm hyperthyroid, but I take my pill like a good boy and should be back up to a good weight soon. And I will come home with a bottle of my medicine (Methimazole if you're curious). Just like my brother there is nothing wrong with us that some time, love, and good food won't cure. Want a ready made family? Ask about us!

Boyd
Boyd Crowder Cremesicle Digger Blonde Bombshell Punkin’ Crispy Creme Love Bug began his life in his forever home as a bedraggled kitty who was all skin and bones. He developed bronchitis and had to be treated for that right after he moved in. Remarkably, even though he was severely neglected, he never lost his ability to trust humans. Boyd is, by far, the most demonstrative loving kitty we’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. He loves cuddling, nuzzling and especially enjoys having his belly held and gently massaged.
Boyd is missing several teeth and has difficulty grabbing food. After much trial and error we have found that cat bowls with the rubber on the bottom work best. Boyd’s nose will probably never completely be covered by fur since he has to push his food against the side of the dish to eat, but he’s such a handsome boy no one really notices the missing fur (except for Mom and she just wants him to be totally healthy).
Boyd’s hyperthyroidism is completely under control with medicine which is taken twice a day. He takes his medicine without any difficulty as long as the pill is completely crushed and mixed with Philadelphia brand cream cheese (no cheap cream cheese – he knows the difference and won’t eat it!). We’ve found that serving his cream cheese smeared on a plate so he can lick it off has been the best delivery “method”. Boyd is a very strong kitty who now has a beautiful fur coat.
Boyd’s strength is readily apparent at two particular times. When he scratches himself, he scratches so hard that he makes a “knocking” sound on the floor. He wears the tips off his nails from scratching so hard. He is allergic to catnip and has had to receive vet attention for this allergy. The other time his strength is very apparent is when he has decided to absolutely, positively bury all trace that he left a deposit in the litter box. He has thrown clean litter as far away as 8 feet! We now are attuned to his habits and assure him that a small amount of digging is sufficient and encourage him to leave the box so we can “finish the job” for him. Luckily this behavior isn’t exhibited daily and seems to be more evident if Boyd is stressed.
Boyd loves being an indoor kitty and never wants to be outside again. Boyd gets along well with Bum, Amigo and Shadow. We are lucky to have such a wonderful kitty in our family!
27 October 2016
Boyd is doing well, however we've received some really bad news. Boys id highly allergic to most food we've been feeding him. He's allergic to beef, pork, chicken, turkey, peas, white potatoes, oats, rabbit, soy bean. So we bought lamb and cooked it for him - he wouldn't eat it. We bought duck - he really likes it ($9.75 for 6 meals - not financially reasonable). We bought fish, cook it (poached) and use a very small amount of butter (not allergic to dairy) he eats it some times. We have found some canned foods that have no grain added and low allergens which we give to him. Boyd is doing well and his nose is finally healing. We thought his nose was raw because of pushing food against the side of the food bowl, but we were wrong. His nose is raw because he has been allergic to what we were feeding him. Boyd does not need any additional medication for addressing the allergy issues.
Boyd is also a very needy kitty. He must have direct human contact for several hours each day. He loves to be held, have belly rubs and nuzzles me. Currently he is a Momma's boy and I'm loving it!

10/28/2017
Boyd was being treated for pancreatitus, vet injected subcutaneous fluids which overwhelmed his heart and he died (I don't care WHAT the vet said - she killed Boyd!). We are devastated. Boyd wasn't eating well so we took him to the vet. She recommended we take him to a specialist which we did. After completing an ultrasound the specialist diagnoised 'pancreatitus. Boyd was on appropriate meds for 2 weeks and we returned to the specialist. Another ultrasound and Boyd was pronounced to be 'on the mend'. Two weeks later we took Boyd back to the vet to check his weight and she injected fluid under his skin and gave him a shot for pancreatitus (instead of a pill) we brought him in back-to-back days. Vet wasn't going to be in the office on Friday so on Thursday when I brought Boyd in for his pancreatitus shot the vet instructed the technician to give Boyd a large dose of fluids. We were not told to observe Boyd nor to be aware that there could be any issues related to the fluid injection. My washer broke and after returning Boyd home I went to the laundromat. I was gone for 2 hours. Upon arriving home I found Boyd laying in the itter box, he was alive but limp. We immediately rushed him to the vet. He died just before she examined him. Two days later I requested an appointment to speak with the vet. I had done some research and discovered that cats that have a heart condition (which Boyd did - galloping heart) which she knew about should be treated with subcutaneous fluids carefully because of the additional strain on their hearts. I confronted the vet (Dr. Kourtney Reddick in Lake Placid, FL) with this information and she said that the fluid played no role in Boyd's death. She tried to convince us that Boyd had had a stroke (yet he walked ok) or perhaps threw a blood clot (yet his death was not instantaneous) we no longer go to this vet. We are in shock, we have lost all three of our siamese kitties this year Amigo 20 years 2 months - renal failure; Bum 12 years (only 2 with us) - cancer and now our sweet Boyd 12.5 years. Our hearts are broken. Our DSH Shadow who is 16.5 years old has the beginnings of renal failure. I HATE THE YEAR 2017!

INDIRA
Kiki is a gorgeous seal point lady with medium length fur and penetrating blue eyes.

Now that her kittens are weaned and finding new homes, Kiki is evolving into a more intense and needy girl who craves attention and, while she can interact postitively other cats, may actually also do well as an only in a home where there is constant attention.

She is moderately vocal and will chirp and trill when chatting with her purrson. She has excellent litter box habits and loves to use her scratching posts. She allows her nails to be trimmed and has a sweet and gentle demeanor.

Notes from Home
Indira is the living proof of combined efforts. From the person who placed her in the shelter because they apparently could not keep her to Deirdre who recovered and fostered her from the shelter to Emily who sponsored me and ultimately to Seri's inception for this wonderful Siamese
rescue society that has come to exist today.

Thank you ladies from the bottom of my heart for all your tireless efforts on behalf of these deserving kitties. If it were not for each of you, your combined commitments, all your selfless hours and all your care, our beloved Indira (Sanskrit for Beauty; VA11604) would not be in our heart and home today. She has been a true blessing and we are honored and grateful to be her forever family.

Again, thank you for making our hope a reality.

With sincere gratitude,

Patricia and Geoffrey Meyer

Indira Meyer 6 Month Update:

It is hard to know where to begin regarding the last six months since our adoption of Indira (VA11604)

You have asked me to update you concerning her behaviors and so forth.

Indira has been an absolute gift. She is truly a wonderful girl and we love her to her core and unconditionally.

Since day one, she has demonstrated meticulous litter box and scratching post use, eating habits, human and other feline integration skills and grooming routines.

Regarding favorite toys, she has not yet met a laser light or catnip stuffed toy that she doesn't like !

Again, because you specifically asked for a tell all...only on rare occasions, Indira will scratch the sides of upholstered furniture...but in all fairness it is when she is overdue for a "Manicure" ! By the way, she loves her mani/pedi sessions and never puts up a fight during them.

Her only other slightly devious behavior is when she chases her housemate Etta up the stairs! It is all in good nature on Indira's part , but I'm not sure if Etta would always agree! The good news is this game of chase has lead to weight loss for both girls so its actually a win win situation !!!

Indira has added an immeasurable sense of wholeness, completion and love to our family unit. It is as if she has been with us forever and I believe she feels the same way. As I have said previously, Indira remains living proof of many things and at the six month mark it remains true that the Siamese Rescue Society and all their selfless efforts combined have again...successfully united "a meant to be cat with their meant to be family"

With great gratitude and appreciation,

Well, if we thought we were in love at 6 months then there are no words to describe our feelings for our beloved Indira at one year! She is truly purrfect and we could not be happier regarding our girl.

Indira remains beautiful inside and out. The greatest update at one year is that Indira and her two preexisting kitty housemates have bonded and now are true friends. It was a pleasure to watch such a lovely evolution.

Again, thank you Siamese Rescue Center. All your efforts remain eternally appreciated.

Love and Gratitude,

Pat and Geoff Meyer
