I have a really bad cold and don't want anyone looking at me right now, so stay tuned and hopefully there will be new pictures soon. I am very small and need time to gain weight and grow so I will have to stay with foster mom for at least a month and hopefully after that I will be ready to go.

Notes from Home
I finally figured out where this is to update!!! This is way overdue.
Echo is beautiful. Demanding, sassy and has her brothers in line behind her!! What a Diva.
She has fit in wonderfully. She has been to the vet though for sneezing. We did another round of antibiotics but she still occasionally has these sneezing fits. Usually when she smells or tries to purr. Because she is healthy, eating, growing, playing....they are not overly concerned at this point. And it seems to upset Jack and me way more than it seems to bother her.

She loves her toys, playing with the light laser and popping bubbles!! She runs around chasing her brothers and is tiny enough to then dart under the dressers or china cabinets to evade and frustrate them! She enjoys sleeping in our bed, usually behind our knees or at our stomach. She loves to be pet, but only at her initiation and she has no qualms telling you when she has had enough! She really enjoys napping on our laps, especially if there is a warm blanket on them.

We love and adore her so much. And we can’t thank you all enough for choosing us! The entire process of this program is outstanding. Well planned, well organized, well carried out and run by the most compassionate people imaginable. Thank you all for everything.

I will make my next update in a much more timely fashion but until then, please enjoy these photos.

BENTLEY
Outside for quite some time based on my sunburnt fur, I'm a little startled at new things but have a fantastic base purrsonality. Marked as no kids simply because I don't want a very busy or noisy household, I'm going to be the tiniest bit shy at first but I'm definitely well socialized and get over things pretty quickly.

Notes from Home
Mr. Bentley is celebrating his two week anniversary! Hooray!! Already it is impossible to imagine our family without him. He continues to be fond of giving kitty-hugs and climbing up to people's shoulders, but he is becoming more independent--exploring every inch of his new home.

11/10/2016 Today is Mr. Bentley (yes, MR. always Mr. as he's earned it) 4TH ANNIVERSARY as a member of this family. He is now a confident (sometimes swaggering) mature boy with a heart of gold. Yesterday he went for his yearly check up and cooperated like a champ--even with the nail clipping.

11/10/2017 Today is Mr. Bentley's FIFTH Anniversary!!!! He started the day by jumping on my bed and licking my face (sometimes he thinks he is a dog). His special sweet side has really come out lately as his cat-sister (a rescue but not a meezer) has turned 17 and sometimes needs a little tlc. Mr. Bentley grooms her sometimes--until she says "enough." He is truly a wonderful boy and we are thankful always that Siamese Rescue brought him into our lives!

ZAK
Hello All!

I came into rescue as tiny baby, I had a home for a year but my person couldn't keep me and now am back in rescue. Things are pretty good here. There are some nice cats, good food and big windows so I can watch the birds. I've only been here a little while so foster mom doesn't know every thing there is to know about me but she is learning. One thing she knows is that I am great with girl cats.

Purrs,
Zak

This cat will not tolerate being with a male cat. Usually this is a male cat.Not with Male Cats

Notes from Home
Just a quick note, Zak is doing terrific here in his new home. Had to integrate him slowly with our other new female kitty as they are both kind of dominant personalities, but now they are buddies (still somewhat rough and tumble, but great play pals). He didnt eat all that much at first for a few weeks, but now he can't get enough food (EVO dry & quality canned food), he is filling out and thriving (he has no litter box issues whatsoever).

Everyone just loves Zak, he is playful, goofy and loving, you could not find a sweeter cat, Thanks to the volunteers at SCRC, and especially foster Fran who did a great job getting him ready for adoption, thanks so much. Uploaded some pictures, Zak with his new girlfriend Jazzy. -Derrick

11/8/18 - Zak doin great, he loves everybody, still a great big kitten. Last physical had an SDMA kidney test done , it was just outside normal range, so we put him on Blue kidney diet, worked great after 6 months his #s are back down in normal range. Included a picture of him doing his fall chipmunk/squirrel watching from the kitchen door window. Love our boy. His housemate Jazzy is also 8yo.

It's been two years since Miss Georgia came to live with us. She is a little spitfire who rarely slows down. My husband has dubbed her "Little Bit" and lovingly mocks her tubby tummy. She loves to hop in the shower when we're done and drink the water, and her favorite toy is Da Bird - she even plays fetch with it! She is our pretty princess!

JEWEL
So... here I am. I spent the first 3 weeks in rescue under evaluation. I was what is known as an 'angry owner give-up'. I'm just a little girl and all I ever knew was my pop, who rescued me from the woods when I was born. But hard times came his way and I was bounced from one unhappy situation to another until I ended up here. Foster mom has been trying, but it took about 40 days for me to stop being just plain mad at the world.

But August 1st was my turnaround day. That morning I let mom touch me for just a few seconds, and then I decided to eat the wet food she brought me. I hadn't done either until then. Everybody has to start somewhere. As you can see now, I'm starting to trust foster mom and I really look forward to her visits. Wow...it feels good to be loved again.

Notes from Home
Jewel is thriving! She has blossomed so much in such a short time. Jewel has claimed the Master bathroom as her “home base” but she is not afraid to explore the rest of the house. She has definitely taken up residence here and knows she is here to stay. Jewel loves to sit in the various windows of the house and lets me know if she wants a particular one open. She loves to eat, but Belinda warned us about that 😊 She is affectionate, and will allow me to pick her up for a short period of time, although I know it’s not her preference. I have seen her playful side too! At times she spooks herself and starts racing around. She has also engaged in a couple of games of hide and seek. She is truly an awesome cat. We love her so much!!

CHESS
I am a climber! Of people that is. I love to climb up on foster mom's shoulder so I can purr in her ear. And she says I have a great little motor. So if you want your own personal purring shoulder rider, than ask about me.

Chess is doing great. He loves kisses and snuggles. He sleeps with me and his brother Shire every night and follows me around the house. He is a very active boy and loves springs and rough housing with Shire. He did have a cold and his eyes where infected after we adopted him, but antibiotics and some eye drops cleared it up. And now he is just the most perfect addition to our family.

Notes from Home
11/7/17 - I just wanted to send a note and some pictures of Mia. She is doing great! We followed a slow integration plan that includes allowing her to explore the house when the other cats are confined. She has selected my youngest daughter Sophie's bed as her favorite. The picture is not great, but that is her relaxing in it this morning. She also is adorable to watch on the stairs given her little legs. She loves being pet and is super with our three kids. She has seen the other two cats and growls, but they are very tolerant and do not hiss or growl back. I am sure that it is a lot to see two other cats, so we are taking it slow. Mia is doing great!! Thank you all so much! Rachel

SIRI
I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE older men. I prefer they be handsome older men, but as long as they will cuddle with me, I'm happy. So if you know of a lonely older guy, or you are a lonely older guy, and particularly if you know of someone like my buddy Gummy Bear here, please ask about me, and I'll come to your house and cuddle for no charge (adoption scholarship offered).

Notes from Home
I Changed her name to Siri because that was the only name she responded to.
This last year Siri had a medical crisis. After a week the emergency veterinary doctors determined that she has Addison's disease. It is especially hard to diagnose because while it is rare in dogs, it is nearly unheard of in cats. I found one other case on line, a Persian in England.
She is doing better now with her prednisolone. But it is causing functional diabetes, so she is on a very special diet.
She is a very sweet little lady, and very beautiful according to everyone who sees her. Over the years she has become very loving and enjoys lap time, sleeping beside me, and bossing the "boys" ( Dave and Marmelade). They acknowledge that she is the Mama, She loves her Millie beds, but will let Dave sleep in one. Maybe she will write when she is stronger.

T.J.
I don't like loud scary noises like the clang of cage doors. When you see my tail and see the streak of fire down my tail, you will see where I got my name. I love to be pet and will come demand them so get ready! I should be ready to home by 4/29/17.

Notes from Home
Hi Amy and Julie. Well, TJ has successfully wound us around his little paw and
we now belong to him instead of the other way around, and he calls all the shots. He is active, but not a terror. A very curious, active, sweet, purring and loving kitten. His ear problem is healed, his eyes are much better (I guess he will always have "dirty eyes" (dark matter in the inner corners) like Beau has always had but I think that's because they are white cats so the matter always shows. In any case, both the boys submit to having their eyes wiped everyday so they look beautiful and handsome. We are completely happy with our sweet little guy (both of them, actually) and we want to thank you and the SCRC for all that you do to find good homes for these wonderful creatures. I'm sending some pictures.

Dear Amy and Julie, just want to let you know that both T J and Beau are well and happy in our new home. In August my husband (who has Parkinson’s disease) and I, along with both cats and Phan, our Whippet, moved to Ashby Ponds, in Ashburn VA, a retirement community. Having full responsibility for a big house, a big yard, AND being my husband’s caregiver, was getting to be too much for me to deal with. So now we’re settled, everyone is much more relaxed (especially me) and we’re all happy to be here.
You can’t imagine how much we both love the sweet T.J. He spends a lot of time on Richard’s lap and makes us laugh out loud at the way he flies around the house and jumps from one bed to another, but then comes to sit on Richard’s chest when I feed him hoping to be able to “share” with Daddy. He and Beau are best friends with an occasional spat, but very quickly over and licking each other’s ears the next minute. If you remember, he had that big flufffy tail that made him look like he was hauling a tail that was meant for a larger cat. Well, he grew into that tail so that now he just has a tail that fits him. He is a semi-long haired cat. I keep telling him that the only Siamese thing about him is his blue eyes, but we’re going to keep him anyway. He’s not really worried!
Thank you both again for all your help and for your dedication to these beautiful animals.
