Neutered, declawed and outside! What is that all about. I still can't figure it out myself, but I sure am glad to be back inside where life comes with room service and snuggles. I Love laps and I like to be held on my back. Dogs are okay. I am not bothered by other cats. I am just an all around great guy. I will be your bed buddy and your shadow. I am very polite a true southern gentleman. Ah! Life is so good again.. I would be Purrrfect if you would just pick me.

Notes from Home
Harry continues to emerge as himself as each day passes. I can't imagine my life without him as he is such a presence in my home. He and Henry, my dog, touched noses the other day and that was a milestone. He is eating well. So well that I now have to be careful how much I give him as he is a big boy. I have two bedrooms upstairs and my bedroom is downstairs. If he is not with me when I turn out the light, I call him, and then I hear this great thump from upstairs as he jumps off of the bed and then thump, thump down the stairs. it is quite funny to hear. I can't thank you enough for bringing the two of us together.

Six months have passed since I adopted Harry and I can see why you say to give a cat six months to adapt. Harry was quick to make himself at home but then he decided to cool it for about a month or more. Then slowly he started to be with me more and more. He is now a great companion and has bonded with me. I think he missed his former owner very much and really mourned for that person. I still mourn my cat who died in September, so I know how he feels. He has tried to play with Henry my dog, but Henry is getting old and doesn't want to play. He is not a lap cat and only occasionally will get in my lap. He is so big, about fifteen pounds, that he has a hard time getting comfortable on my small lap. Once again, thank you to all that helped bring Harry into my life.

Harry has been with me a year now and we have become very comfortable with each other. He sleeps with me every night and often feels the need to give me loves several times during that time. I wish he could tell me what happened to him as it was traumatic. It took him such a long time to feel completely secure with me as his person. All of a sudden he has become a lap cat which makes me very happy. As he is such a large cat and I am rather a small person, it takes some maneuvering for him to get settled. I think often of the fosters who took care of him. I enjoyed our conversations and emails back and forth.

Harry has been with me two years now and he has become very dear to me. At the moment he is sitting next to me and, as the sun is shining on him, he is feeling very content. He has become my constant companion which I love. His health remains good. The only problem we have had is with an impacted and infected anal gland. Fortunately, I caught it before it became too bad. He did not like having it treated but was much more comfortable afterwards. Thank you again for my boy.

I am sorry that I am late replying to your email, but my sixteen year old dog died the day I received it and I have been devastated. Harry seems to sense my despair and has been very attentive to me. He had his yearly physical in November and all was well. It is hard to believe that he has been with me three years. I am enclosing a photo that I took recently.

MARIGOLD
I'm Magnolia, or Maggie for short. I've been here for a while now and am ready for my very own family. All the other rescue kitties say that, too, so I know I have competition :) I am affectionate and playful. I can get along fine with other kitties depending on their personality. Sometimes I get a little grumpy and have my own opinion on the way things should be done but I'm a girl and girls can do that sort of thing.
The vet determined that I did not need to have any teeth pulled, but I had really bad tarter causing my gums to bleed. Now that my teeth have been cleaned, I am feeling so much better. I'm running and playing like a youngster.
Foster mom can tell you more if you think you might want me to come live with you.

Purrs,
Maggie

Marigold is just the sweetest friendliest kitty!!!! Foster family must have been super to produce a health friendly outgoing cat. She has someone to supervise now.

Marigold visited her vet last week and for an old lady is OK. Both her current vet and her old vet wish she would eat more, but she eats what she wants and then stops. Don't you wish more humans were like her? Because of people's vacation schedules, she has been supervising a couple of visiting cats with whom she was Not Amused. However things are back to normal now.

CRYSTAL
I am settling in nicely. Life is quiet now without my babies and I can start enjoying playing with toys and being spoiled a little by my foster mom. I am a sweet girl and doing well. I get along fine with other kitties, but I would love to have my own home and share my life with you.

Crystal has been home for a week now. She is a little sweetheart. Still a few half hearted growls at the other cats but doing great. She's a lap cat and loves her toys. Thank you SCRC for saving her and especially her foster Mom Kay C for taking such good care of her.

Little Crystal has been home 2 weeks now. She is doing wonderful. Almost no growls left to her sibs. She fits in so so well. She is playing and follows us everywhere. She is a super little girl. I can't say enough good things about her. Yes we do LOVE her bunches.
1/30/13
Crystal has been here in her forever home for 1 month now. She is such a great cat. She is completely intregrated in the household. She now screams for her breakfast in the morning and is sleeping with us at night. Not much room on the bed for humans! LOL. We could not have asked for a better match for the family. We love love love her.
3/5/13
Crystal has been home for just over 2 months now. She is doing so so great. You would think she had been here forever. She loves us and all the other cats. She screams when she wants something. She plays with Ralphie all the time. Just a super great girl. She waited a long time for her forever home and she found it here! We love her to pieces. Thanks SCRC and my friend and foster Mom Kay C for letting us adopt her.

My baby doll Crystal has been home 6 months today. She is such a delightful kitty. She has discovered she has a voice. We love love love her. She is a super sweet cat and goes with the flow. She has accepted the wide child kitten. She waited 86 days to find her FOREVER home. She is just wonderful. Thank you Siamese rescue and especially her foster Mom Kay C for rescueing her and allowing us to adopt her.
12/30/13
Today marks one year since I drove to Pembroke to pickup my little flame girl. She is just a doll baby of a cat. She's interactive, sweet and fur as soft as a bunny. She plays non stop with her little brother. She also loves her millie bed. Obviously we love her to pieces. Thanks to Siamese Rescue and my friend Kay C for rescueing her. I hope we have many many more years with her.
12/30/14
Why has the time gone. 2 years with our little baby doll. She is still doing great. Allows petting on her terms. Pretty much does what she wants and gets away with it because she's so cute. She is a counter walker and a table sitter. She has her favorite bed too. We loves her so much. Thank you to her super foster Mom for doing such a good job with her.
12/30/15
Oh my 3 years with this wonderful little girl. She is doing great in her forever home. She is such a great cat. We could not be happier with her. She is a little free spirit and pretty much does what she wants. Her lastest trick is she can open the kitchen cabinets. She is super smart. Can you tell we love her to pieces?
12/30/16
Where does the time go. 4 years it just doesn't seem possible. Crystal is a comical little girl. She is her Daddy's baby. He can carry her around like a baby. She sits on the kitchen table & watches him eat breakfast. She is just such a super cute little girl. Yep she is a super cute playful little girl & we love her so much. Thanks to SCRC & her foster Mom for allowing her into our lives.
12/30/17
Oh my goodness how can it already be 5 years. It feels like just yesterday. Crystal is a great little girl. She is a delight to have around. She is playful independent & loves her catnip toys. She will holler at them at times which is so adorable. She still is a counter & table cat but that is just ok with us. She is Daddy’s girl & she lets him carry he around like s baby. Yes we love her so much & can’t imagine not having her in our lives. Thanks again to SCRC & her wonderful foster Mom for letting us adopt her.

CHAI
Hi!

I'm a tenderhearted guy with a lot of love to give. I'd enjoy a laidback environment ....I am integrated with the dogs and other kitties here. I like to play and observe but never cause trouble.

I am confident so being your one an only fellow would work just fine too as long as I have lots of toys!

Great manners of course.... hoping I can bring in the new year in my first real forever and ever home!

Love,

Chili

Notes from Home
Hello rescue angels and friends,

Chili (now Chai) is thriving! I uploaded a picture of what he looked like when the rescue angels got him out of the shelter and what he looks like today. It's a powerful image about the difference that you (and adopters) make. I posted it on my Facebook page with a note asking people to consider adopting a shelter pet.

He's a very sweet guy. There's something very down to earth about him. If he was a person he would wear flannel shirts and secretly watch sappy movies. His tastes are simple; his needs few. He loves attention and immediately rolls over if you say his name. He's a big purr machine. He eats whatever you give him. He seems very grateful for what he has, if you know what I mean.

He and his two "siblings", Leo and Zuzu, get along very well. Chai's the big groomer of the group and makes sure everybody's face is clean at all times!

As you can probably tell, I love him to pieces. His easygoing nature is a good counterpoint to Zuzu's playful energy and Leo's adventures on the highest objects in the room.

Thanks for bringing us together!

Hello again, Siamese Rescue Angels!

Chai is continuing to thrive. He is such a sweet boy! He waits at the foot of my chair for me to invite him up. He's very smart too. I feed them mostly canned food. In the evening we have a little thing where if the boys finish their food, I will give them some crunchy food, which they think is a big treat. (Zuzu doesn't get to play this game since she is such a chow hound I have to feed her in another room). They finish their dinner, and then Chai comes to me. I ask him if he finished his dinner, and he'll lead me to his dish to check. If he hasn't finished I'll say to him: "You didn't finish your dinner. Eat up your dinner, Chai!" And he does! It's so funny.

He's a mellow guy, something I'm not used to after a lifetime of Siamese. But once in awhile, he channels his inner Meezer and lets out a loud, demanding meow. He's getting better with visitors. He used to disappear, but now he will go up to them, but he doesn't want them to pet him. The pet sitter reports that he now gets in her lap, though.

Chai, Zuzu, and Leo are my little family and I am so fortunate that they get along great and are such wonderful cats.

Thank you again,
Gail

Chai's doing great. He is so sweet and gentle. Wanted to let everyone know that his photo has been selected for the 2018 Siamese rescue calendar. He will be the main photo for the month of September.

December 29, 2017: It's hard to believe that Chai has been with us for 5 years. Since he was adopted, I have a wonderful significant other. The cats adore him and he adores them! Our big news this year is that Chai is "Mr. September" on the 2018 Siamese Rescue calendar.

Mochi (Naomi) is doing great! She loves (and is very loved by) her big brother Beau, as well as Ruby the dog. She acclimated very well and easily with absolutely no issues. She went to the vet last week for her shot and all in the office cooed over her. She is sweet and affectionate and very happy. Thank you so much to everyone! :)

MYA
I'm not sure how all this happened, but earlier this summer I ended up at the animal shelter. I was so scared and unhappy - I was there for a really really long time :-( I thought... this is it. But then I finally got to smell fresh air again and I was so happy! I spent my first day of freedom stretching, and rolling around - it was heaven! I love my fostermom and my furry roommates, but now I'm ready for my own home.

I like all kinds of other kitties as long as they're nice to me. I'm very gentle and not very good at defending myself, so no bullies please. Until I get to know you, I'm a little shy, but we'll be fast friends in no time. My favorite thing is to snuggle under the covers with you. By the way, I am FULLY VETTED already and ready to go home anytime you ask about me.

12/28/2017
Hello Virginia Siamese Rescue friends,

Boxing Day was the two year anniversary of my Gotcha day with Mom, Dad & Louis. I'm so glad that I adopted them! We have fun chasing the mouse-on-a-stick, and sleeping on top of Mom. The meals are good, although sometimes the waitress is a little late with my dinner :( I always have a nice tip for her

I have my annual physical with Dr. Marian next week - I'm sure she'll tell me that I'm in excellent shape... although she might want me to lose a pound or two, just like Mom needs to do.

Mom retires tomorrow, December 28 [2017] so she'll be around more to play with me. Dad has cut down to working four days a week, so there's more time for him to watch Netflix with me on his lap. I'm also busy hanging out with Louis all day long.

I have Cat TV, a huge screen looking out on a yard full of trees. I get to watch deer walking around and eating, and the other day I saw Mr. Fox. When Black Cat comes to visit, my tail gets all bushy and bangs against the wall and Mom & Dad laugh at me. But I can't meet Black Cat because he's outside and I'm snuggly and warm inside.

My dad and I have long conversations; he calls me "Fuzzy Fuzzy Fuzzy" and I reply with my humming or meowing [Mom here - Mya has this funny humming; it's like she's meowing with her mouth shut. She chirps too. And she hums, chirps and talks A LOT! LOL!]

So I love my life here. Thank you for taking care of me and thank you for helping me find my mom & dad.

Love,
Mya

Mya has settled in very well. She's happy, snuggles up to us when she wants company, drags us to where her mouse-on-a-stick toy is when she wants to play. We love having her around, and she has had a wonderful affect on our son Louis, who is on the autism spectrum (although very functional) but was depressed when our previous cat passed away last September. Mya and Louis are best friends, and they spend a lot of time together, as you can see from the photos. She's fun, she's funny, she and Larry have entire conversations together!

(sorry for all the update emails, I'm still getting the hang of this! Becky)

6/23/2016
Hello everyone, we just wanted to let you all know that Mya is just the best cat! She has a nose that just pushes its way wherever she wants to go, either to poke at my arm so that she gets her head scratched, or to dig her way under the sheets. She knows what she wants! She still gets Louis up off the sofa and makes him play with her, which is good for both of them. She adores sitting at the sliding door off our basement, and she watches the deer and foxes and whatever else wanders by.

We had about 20 people in the house for Memorial Day, and she kept to herself, but wasn't hiding. When we were down to about 10 people, she came upstairs, looked around, and gave me a look like Why are all these people still in MY house?

She also loves my brother, who comes for dinner once a week. She likes to sit on his chair at the kitchen table, lay on his placemat or sit next to him on the sofa.... and of course, he's allergic to cats! They have an agreement: he'll pet her once and then she has to move!

We are so pleased with her, and she seems to be pleased to be with us. She's an awesome girl!

Notes from Home
Beasley (fka George) and his brother, Louie (fka Louis) are thriving, growing like crazy, playing like crazy and have taken over the house. Louie's eye infection looks clear though he has one more week of pills to take. We love them to pieces and Sullivan is gradually learning to cope with them and their enthusiasm. They know their names and have been quick to learn that they aren't allowed on counters or dining tables. We are absolutely thrilled with them! Thanks to all who rescued, treated, fostered and loved them before they came to live with us.

8/26/14 - Louie and Beasley celebrated their one year anniversary with us yesterday. They have grown into gorgeous, smart, entertaining cats and they get along with their big brother, Sullivan, beautifully. Louie gets the Emmy for vocals, Beasley for uniqueness as he entertains us everyday by washing his toys in his water bowl and presenting us with big, wet fuzzy balls! As time goes on, and we continue to experience and observe the SCRC machine that Siri has developed, we never fail to be awed by how smoothly and beautifully the whole thing works to provide these exquisite creatures and lucky people with so much joy! I'm attaching a couple of pictures.

12/27/17 Louie VA9468 and Beasley VA9467 have now been residents of Eagle, Idaho since March of 2015 and have adjusted beautifully. They are smart, playful and as thoroughly spoiled as any Siamese. Photos are below. Louie on the bed with pillows and Beasley 'tight-rope' walking on the balcony railing - which of course he in not supposed to do!

SAVANNA
So with a bit of coaxing, I'll come out and purr and even lap-sit for a bit, but the littlest noise will send my back to my safe place. I am a sweet and lovable girl who will need someone to give me time to adjust to any new situation. A feline buddy would be nice to have someone to play with as long as they are not bullies.

Notes from Home
Today is Valentine’s Day 2017 and Savanna has been with me for nearly two months. She and Eddison – my older male Siamese – have really bonded. At first he was a bit wary of this young frisky kitten, but she won him over in a hurry. He snuggles with her, plays with her, and truly seems to enjoy her companionship. I have so many great pictures of them snuggling together and I post them all the time on Facebook – I am sure my friends are getting tired of seeing them. I’ve tried to upload some here – but I’m not a technically savvy as I could be…

Savanna is very loving with me too – snuggling and purring and letting me hold her. (Eddison flat out refuses to be picked up, so it’s a real treat to have a kitty to cuddle.) However, she does NOT like visitors. Not one smidgen. If I have company, she hides.

At the advice of Nancy – Savanna’s foster – I waited a month to take her to the vet. At Savanna’s first vet visit she let me, the vet tech and Dr. Handley hold her and admire her so I was under the impression that she was cured. Nope. If someone stops by, she hides. As soon as they leave, she comes out for a cuddle and goes on about her business. I guess she is a one person cat.

Speaking of the vet visit – she was given a clean bill of health!

I am so glad that Savanna came into my life and I thank all of the volunteers who made it possible.

PS: I FIGURED OUT THE PICTURE UPLOAD! NEW PHOTOS HAVE BEEN ADDED. :)

Wow! It has been just over a year since I adopted Savanna, and we couldn't be happier. She brings so much joy to me, and to her brother Eddison. She is so full of life and so sweet and cuddly. She is a little like a puppy. She follows me around and she comes when she is called. :)

She and Eddison - my senior seal point - have their little daily routines - and they have learned a lot from each other. For example; Savanna likes to be picked up and cuddled, and now Eddison will let me pick him up briefly. A major win! He was so skittish when I first adopted him from the SPCA he was afraid of being picked up. He has learned by example that good things can come from being picked up - it doesn't just mean veterinary visits and shots.

Savanna has learned from Eddison as well. Eddison insists upon valet service after each litter box visit. To summon me, his servant, he whacks the side of the box with his paw, and won't stop until I scoop. After being exposed to this behavior for about a year, Savanna now she does the same thing. I swear that they wait for me to go to bed before using the box! I can count on getting up at least twice to service their commode!

This year has just flown by and it has been a much sweeter year with Savanna by my side.

We love our Chancellor. He is a lap cat/ snuggling, purr machine, and follows us room to room. We have him on rabbit food alone per our vets directions, as little boy has allergies and has an occasional soft sweet sneeze. He likes to groom, and sometimes over grooms because of the allergies, but he is so much calmer these days, now that he knows he's not going anywhere. We were told he was an Escape artist, but shows no interest in leaving. When we go out to the hot tub in the evening He sits at the window and stares at us. He fits our family so well! One night he sleeps next to my husband, and one night me... He's got plenty of love to go around. We do plan on taking him to an allergist if his allergies don't go away soon. Thank you so much for saving this wonderful boy ! He is perfect, as cost mother Siri said. We feel so lucky to have him!June 2017/ we Have now had our baby 6 months:

Oh we love our Chancellor. He is undisputed prince of his domaine, ( that would be us and our house.

He had the allergies/ nerves thing that made him chew on himself when we brought him home in December.

We tried conventional anti anxiety medications and Royal Canin rabbit food to fix it and it didn't seem to get better,

Then we took him to wholistic vet who did acupuncture and put him on Chinese herbal supplements and a grass fed beef with organic veggies and supplements that I make at home and now he is almost chew free and close to having no sores. She suspected it was his allergies and nerves that she likened to

He hardy has those attacks. We are doing our best to heal his bad life on the street memories with love.

As you can see from the pics, he is so loved and lovable. Thank you so much for our chancellor!

We want to volunteer, but we have to work another three years and are a little busy. He does have a pinch of separation anxiety So we don't travel except one at a time at this point.

We will be in touch when he's finally out of the woods so to speak.

AndThank you again! He really is such a blessing!

Well it's now been a who.e year and chancellor is doing extremely well! Our wholistic vet has him on anherbal supplement dial Yao San that really helps with his anxiety. Which we crush and mix with his food. We use a plug I air freshener called fellaway in the areas he naps, and it's amazing at calming him. He also sees our family vet who has him on 5 mg of amitrptalyn. It sounds like a lot, but he's gone from attatcking his ski and several open sores to no open sores, and he's calm and almost never gets those anxious attacks. He is in love with my husband and waits for him at the door when he gets home from work, then when he puts his feet up in the. Lazy boy chance snuggles right in. He a beautiful little dear! We still only travel one at a time, but we do have a pet sitter to stay overnight when we feel a little more secure he can handle it! He sleeps with us most nights to, which we love!
