I arrived at the shelter in a box of candy! My mama is Abba-Zaba and while she is shy...not me I am playful and very laid back at this point. I was in shelter foster for the past month so I could finish nursing. I do not want to be alone so I need a feline friend---at least ONE.

I am wishing for a forever family of 15- 20 years of loving, close, in your face and underfoot companionship. A snuggle human friend or two...would be ideal too.

Do you want a constant companion who will follow you around the house while you do your chores? I don't get under foot but I do like to be where you are. I will sit at your feet when you are on the couch watching TV or reading a book and I'll probably even join you on the couch. I am a mild mannered little gal with a quiet demeanor. I can tolerate living with another nice kitty that won't expect me to be his friend but I really do prefer people. Since I am on the quiet side I think I would prefer a quiet home. I am in excellent health and all ready to go home. So what are you waiting for?
Notes from Home
June 15th, 2016 - Abby has been renamed Lily and she and I are doing great! I am off work for the week and wanted to take some time to share some pics and thank you all again so much for everything you did to help get us together!!

I am happy to report that Lily is thoroughly a lap kitty - she has gotten over her fear of my recliner chair and hops up on my lap all the time. Sometimes she watches TV with me (she gets pretty fascinated by it from time to time!) and sometimes she just curls up and takes a nap. Every few weeks she finds a new favorite place to nap - at first it was on my dining room chairs, more recently it's on the sofa. But her constant favorite place is my bed - the first time she got up, she couldn't stop kneading and purring - she'd never been on a bed before! She isn't a cuddly sleeper, but has picked out her spot on the bed and sleeps there whether I'm there or not.

She loves to play with toys (and my living room floor now reflects that!). Her absolute most favorite thing to do is chase ping pong balls about, but that doesn't last too long since they end up somewhere she can't reach under furniture in about 30 seconds. In the middle of the night last week, though, she all of a sudden discovered the "ping pong ball trapped in a track" toy - I've had it since the day she got here and she randomly decided that was the night to play with it. I think she batted it around all night! :-)

Health, food and litter box are all doing well. Her coat has gotten super shiny and soft since she's been indoors all the time! I haven't found a scratcher that appeals to her yet - the carpet is still her favorite place - but it's old and needs to be replaced, so she can scratch away until we figure something else out. Doesn't look like she likes catnip, but I just ordered some honeysuckle spray that is supposed to be appealing to cats.

Just wanted to let you know we are doing well! I'll try to upload some pictures and videos!

(Last update: Jun 15th, 2016 2pm)

If you're looking for a lot of loving and snuggling then I'm your girl. I want to be the ONLY...the ONE...and special to you! You will only need me, me, me....you'll see...just ask!

Its final...I have NOT changed my mind. I don't care for other cats in any way, shape or form.

I am fearful of broom and men but we are working on that. Foster mama sweeps the room and I watch from way above on the book shelf. The men here visit and talk softly.

Yes, I have excellent litterbox, grooming, and scratching manners....eat well too :)

Love, Shelley

Foster Notes

This cat will not tolerate any other cats in the home. A dog may still be a possibility though.Must be Only Cat

Notes from Home
It's been 6 months now, and Molly continues settling in. I'm pretty sure she likes us, since she always hangs out wherever we are. Of course, she may just think that improves her odds of getting one of us to play with her. I've never known a cat who wanted to play as much as she does. She often ambushes me when I pass by in hopes of starting a game of chase - one of her favorite games. She also enjoys soccer (There are tiny wads of paper under every piece of furniture by now) and the wand toy her foster sent home with her. Sometimes she plays a little rough (nips at my ankles and hands), so if anyone has advice about that, I'd be interested. She doesn't bite hard enough to draw blood, but she seems to be getting more aggressive, not less.

She's an excellent eater and has great litter and grooming habits. I am able to trim her nails without too much difficulty. She's a very smart cat, and she's learned that the fastest way to get my attention is to take a swipe at the furniture, so I do have to keep her nails trimmed. Other than the scratching and biting issues, she's a perfect little girl. She's not much of a cuddler, but she's come a long way since we first got her. She's sleeping at the foot of the bed now and is very affectionate first thing in the morning. All in all, Molly's a great cat, and we're very happy to have her. Thanks so much!

June 16, 2015: Hello, again. Hard to believe we've had Molly a whole year! She went to the vet for her annual checkup and vaccinations in May and got a good report from her doc. She weighed in at a solid 9.1 lbs, and the vet thought that was a good weight for her. She's petite but quite muscular from all the playing she does!

Molly still isn't a lap cat and doesn't like to be picked up or petted too much, but she tolerates our advances better than she did, especially from Nita. I seem to be her designated playmate! And if I don't play with her enough, she let's me know. If I want peace and quiet for something (I.e., practicing the piano), I always spend a few minutes playing with Molly first - otherwise, she will meow until I stop what I'm doing and attend to her play needs!

Her biting hasn't been as much of an issue of late. If I put my hand near her while we're playing, she might try to bite it, and she sometimes nips at my ankles in an effort to get me to play with her, but she hasn't tried to bite at other times. And she never bites Nita. She clearly thinks of me differently than she does Nita, and I might think she didn't like me, except that she almost always hangs out where I am and often sleeps at the foot of my bed. So, go figure.

In any case, I just love having Molly around. She's beautiful and so much fun to play with. And I'm still hopeful that she'll become more affectionate as she becomes more trusting. I posted a few new pictures so you can see how great she looks! As always, thanks to all of you for all you do for cats like Molly!

06/15/2016: Molly is just wonderful! She's become gradually more trusting and affectionate, especially over the last few months. She continues to love playing more than anything and is in great shape from all the exercise! She just had her annual checkup, and her vet thought she looked really good. Thanks so much for saving her and sending her my way. I just love her!

I've spent most of my adult life outside in the cold. I've had dogs chase me, kids throw stones at me, people kick me. If I never hear another "SHOOOOOO" it will be soon enough. I'm the MOST appreciative cat ever to grace this Rescue now that I'm in from the cold, all of my teeth (all of which were infected) have been removed, and this long term sinus infection is finally clearing up. When you love on me, I literally do a Happy Dance because it makes me so excited that someone would actually be nice to me. (Watch my Two Step on my video) Move quickly though and I remember all the bad things and shrink back. Move slowly and I absolutely melt into your hands and your heart.

Buster crossed to the rainbow bridge today, he had renal failure. I'm glad we could help him live out his last days in comfort.

Same old story, owner turned me in. Why, I do not know, something about moving, I guess there must be a state that does not allow cats as I am really the most loving cat you will find, just don't try to restrain me. Was it my talkative personality, ok some people like quiet cats, I am not one. I like to tell you about my day. Was it because I liked petting too much, hey that is me. I want to get and give loving. I am a Tonkinese with the most beautiful fur you will ever find. For some of you who do not know what a Tonkinese is it is a cross between a Siamese and a Burmese. We have the best of both in us, we are a little denser body shape and a shorter face but have the Siamese voice. We are firmly convinced that humans are put on earth to love us...... so how is that different than any cat?

Jemima is 11 yrs old now and still playful as ever. We have moved to the Villages in Florida and we both waited patiently for our belongings to arrive after 3 full weeks. But all is well with Jemima now. She has had her annual and shots before the move so we are Good to go. Her records transfer with Banfield.
I continue to consider a companion for her and various cats come and go that I care for some time to find homes but she seems to be OK on her own .

6/14/16. Jemima is 12y now and doing fine. Loves sleeping on the enclosed lanai or on my chest!. Still playful though not s demanding of play time s she us d to be. I belong to the new Villages Cat Crazy club and love how we rescue and help out the cmmty cats. I always wonder if Jemima needs. Companion but she seems fine alone. Have had visitors with dogs and she is not particularly bothered by them. I have a new email and address.

Hi. My name is Danica and I was just returned to Siamese rescue because my human mommy couldn't take care of me any more. She needs an oxygen bottle with her everywhere she goes. She told me that I shouldn't worry because my new foster pops would find the right home for me with a new family who would love me as much as she does. Would that be you?
Notes from Home
Danica is the princess she always wanted to be. She has decided that my ambassador cat, Tony, is better than catnip since he likes to wash her fur, give her head butts, and snuggle with her. In return she will follow him around and gently chew on his ear after he washes her in the morning. I am glad we adopted Danica since she fits right in at "Casa Kuck" with all of our other cats and meezer fosters.
The attached picture is of Danica and Tony on the kitchen counter waiting for their afternoon "Cunchies.

Hey, these humans aren't so bad after all! I was really scared when I got here and the big scary foster Mom came into my room..at least she seemed big and scary. But you know what? Two weeks here has made all the difference. I really think humans are pretty cool. I love sitting next to foster Mom or in her lap, love getting lots of pets and purring, and love love love those treats. I might take just a bit to warm up to you when I come home, but just give me a little time and patience, and I'll show you just how great my big personality really is.

Notes from Home
Farrah is now known as Punkin. She came home on Sunday, and she is already making herself at home. She runs around and plays, loves her wand toy and is getting used to us. She is still a little shy, but is getting closer to me every hour. She climbs up on my chair, but is not yet ready to climb into my lap. When I pick her up, she will purr and let me hold her for awhile.

Thanks to everyone at SRC for their help with bringing her home. We have no doubt she will be a great addition to our family.

Jim and Diana

We have had a long 6 months with Punkin. She was quite ill in January and after weeks of antibiotics and blood draws, we found out she is in end stage renal failure. She picked up e-coli when living on he streets and it has affected her kidneys.
That being said, she is a fabulous addition to our family. We love her so much, and she is such a sweetheart. She has decided that I have a wonderful lap and when not in my lap, she is sitting by me. She is a big head butter and will tell me when she's hungry. She doesn't talk much, but when she does, you better listen!! She is eating well, and plays with Poppy, our other Siamese. She lets him know when she has had enough, and he backs off. She is still quit small, about 6 1/2 pounds, but loves to eat and no issues with upset tummy or the litter box.
We are just keeping her happy and loving her for now. Our vet says she will do well for awhile, so we are living life and loving our girl.
Thanks to Nancy for all her support during her illness and for pointing m in the right direction for support.

Needed: at least one cat buddy. Regular meals of any variety. An understanding human who will talk lovingly to me and let me adjust at my rate to a new home.

Ready to go home now. Very sweet, not a lap cat yet but loves to be petted and especially to spend time playing feathers with you.

Notes from Home
June 2016:
Juliet had an aggressive tumor in her mouth (it increased in size 25% in a week and was affecting her ability to eat/groom since it was under her tongue). We declined surgery and chemo since she hated being handled (pettings only on HER TERMS tyvm!), and euthanized her last week.
We miss her very much.

7/25/2015: In Sept 2014, we added another member to the family, Romeo (VA10242). They often wrestle and snuggle together. She's still improving in her shyness, she has started letting strangers pet her (if they're real quiet and still). Loud voices and fast movement are still super scary, but otherwise she's okay.

Ginger and Juliet seem to have finally settled their differences, and Ginger no longer hisses at her unless she really gets in Ginger's face. Juliet seems happy to have Romeo for company. :-)

Added 5/29/12: She's still really shy about people. We try to catch her once a month to make sure she's okay (check her over for any injuries, trim her claws, etc), but other than that just pet her when she wants attention from us (usually when she's hungry).

She loves playing with the ball-in-track toys, and we've gotten a few different types with expandable/changable tracks to provide her with variety.

She gets along with the boys well, and will often join one of them in a Millie bed or the box under the cat tree (that has a heated pad in it). Ginger doesn't hiss at her unless she tries to headbutt Ginger, so that's progress (they can walk past each other in the hallway at least).

Added 4/1/11: Ginger still doesn't like her, and I think she's sad about being rebuffed by the alpha cat in the household (Ginger has been hissing and swatting whenever Juliet comes in range, and after that Juliet will go sit in the corner behind the couch). While Juliet and Hunter get along, I find myself wondering if I should get a buddy for Juliet who will bond with her (but who would be confident enough to show Juliet how nice people can be).

She is making progress in being less afraid of people, but slow. She comes to us for attention when she's hungry (even occasionally jumping on the bed and headbutting me in the face), but otherwise she has a few hiding places that she likes to hang out in and watch everyone.

Added 4/15/10: She's been more skittish since we brought Ginger (VA6666) home (02/14/10). She's settling in slowly. She keeps trying to make friends with Ginger but Ginger isn't really interested. Juliet is such a sweet girl and Ginger is tolerating her now (when she first moved in she hissed) so hopefully they'll become friends with time.

Juliet and Hunter still run and play chase, but when Hunter isn't paying attention to her, Juliet is mostly hiding. She's just the lowest on the totem pole and trying to figure out her place, I guess.

She always comes out for food, though, and loves to get attention from us at meal times. We see her in bed occassionally, but not as much as we used to.

Making lots of progress in learning to trust people. Regularly jumps on the bed with us in the mornings and night for attention. Still a little skittish around the house and does NOT want to be picked up. Very lovey as long as she can choose the time and place.

Just an FYI. Bogie is a very sweet boy and we just love him. He had a mild setback and went into hiding so we confined him back to our room for a few days but he began coming out again and he is now staying out and about and giving us both head butts and kisses all the time. He likes to watch the birds and rabbits from the game room door and windows and lets us know when we didn't feed him on time. Lol. Wherever we are he is there. He is truly everything we wanted!!! He went to the vet on Thursday and acted like a champ. I thought it would make him hide again but he has been even more close ever since we got back home.

6/9/2016- just in FYI we have had bogie now for three years and it has been the best three years of our lives we thought that he would not like other cats but a friend of mine had a kitten that he fell just absolutely in love with and her name is Ruby she's a red point Siamese the infatuation got to be so much that she gave Ruby to us and they have since bonded and they are in separable. Bogie was just to the vet a few weeks ago and everything is perfect except he had a UTI which he took medicine for and it is now gone. Wherever I go they go they are both the sweetest for babies alive and I will add a picture a few of them at the bottom for you all to see.
