TEMMA
I am a little afraid right now but we will be working on that. It is all new and different.

I finally decided that it is time to make myself seen. I just loved all the attention I got and I think it might be OK here. Temporarily anyway. Today should be picture day now that I want to meet the world.

Notes from Home
September 26th, 2015
Temma is doing great at two weeks home with me! I hoped for the best and prepared for the "worst" -- "worst" being she would stay in hiding under the bed for a week or two. That would have been fine; I am a patient person. She surprised me by following me around the first day home and even jumping up on my lap before I tried to pick her up. So it turned out to be the best case scenario, and she is the best! Pretty much immediately, she was a cuddle bug.
She came home with me on September 12th, and her estimated birth date is September 2011. So, her birthday will be celebrated each year on September 12th.
We are a perfect match, and I am grateful to Siamese Cat Rescue Center (SCRC) for that! Honest to goodness, we have similar personalities. The thorough application process was so worth it. Her and my timing seems perfect about when it's a good time to be lovey and when we keep our distance and do our own thing. We always know where the other is, though, when I am home. And it's so awesome... She always comes to greet me when I get home from work or being out for errands. I also love to cook, and she seems to enjoy the smells, curled up on the couch with her nose moving in the air
And, worthy of mention, she is doing great eating the food suggested by SCRC, drinking water, peeing, and pooing.
All my friends and family know one of my favorite things is to be on my screened-in porch. Temma loves it, too. It's a place she can feel the fresh air and take in some different sights, sounds, and smells and be safely contained. Still, I do not let her go out there without me.
One thing that is changing is that she is getting a little more playful. She cracks me up with her little play toys: the mouse, the mouse, the octopus, the mouse, the mouse, the ball, and the mouse. She loves the mice. She also loves the pink play cube, one of the delightful gifts her foster mother Jane sent with her.
She loves to be brushed, and with her beautiful soft coat, that is a good thing. She likes me to brush her first thing in the morning. The challenge is brushing the underneath of her, but we're getting better at that part all the time.
Temma and I are two happy girls!

October 12th, 2015
It is our one month anniversary. It is one month since Temma came home! And only one month, I can hardly imagine my life without her. Talk about gratitude... She is amazing and it is amazing we found our way to each other.
Everything is going well, and the grooming I mentioned above is going even better. She wants to be brushed (and combed!) twice a day. She totally allows me to brush her belly now, and has the cutest little behavior she does when she wants to be brushed. She walks up to me, meows, and then runs like a lightening flash and jumps up on the bed. It was suggested to use a comb as well, and I dreaded that, thinking she would not enjoy it and who knows what. Well, she likes anything that helps keep her beautiful. The comb runs through her silky smooth and soft coat just fine.
They loved her at the first vet appointment, for initial check and examination. Dr. Andersen knew she was a Balinese and said she is perfect. I agree.

August 30, 2016
In less than two weeks, it will be the one year anniversary of Temma coming home with me and the celebration of her 5th birthday! The year has gone by so fast! I missed giving an update at six months, so I'm making sure now that I don't miss it for the special occasion of September 12th. I will never forget these two days: the moment I first saw her come out from under the bed at Jane's house when I visited prior to adoption, and meeting Teresa in Jacksonville - the feeling I had when she handed over the carrier with Temma in it. For me it was an instant bond, and the wonderful feeling has never gone away. In a way it feels like I just adopted her and in a way it feels like I have had her in my life forever.
Everything is so good! I don't think we had much of an adjustment period. Or, perhaps it's that we are going to be on the honeymoon period forever. Honestly! She is just an awesome cat, and the perfect cat for me. I don't mean to say she has no quirks, but I respect them and they amuse me. She has never done anything "wrong" and thankfully, she is healthy. She makes me laugh. We know each other very well and enjoy our routines. The only thing she does not enjoy is rain or thunder, and she knows it's here before I do. She makes a dash for under the bed or to another hiding spot. Her favorite thing is to be on the porch with me and it's a bonus for her when she catches a lizard to play with.
Since I adopted her, I retired, and I enjoy every day home with her. She is my first smile every morning, and I fall asleep to her purring or just her presence every night.
I'm sorry to write such a long update. I guess I am trying to tell all of you at SCRC how much I love this dear little beautiful creature and thank you for giving me the opportunity to adopt her. She made my already-happy life happier, and she has made my life complete. I will upload some recent pictures soon!

Notes from Home
The happy family has reached our one-year anniversary with everyone settled in well. We've had a wellness visit to the vet for vaccinations and passed our check-up with flying colors. We’ve also survived a hot summer without melting, belly up under the ceiling fans.

Emma (now Clelia) is still the dominant cat, but lacking in confidence. She tends to be very clingy, and now that her brother is being super-affectionate, can show jealousy. But I try to give her all the reassuring pets and cuddles I can , and the two of them cuddle considerably when I'm not around to compete for (I come home and find them entwined on my bed or in their Millie bed).

Max (now Naaji) as you know was the slower to adapt but by the three-month anniversary had become relaxed and affectionate. Now he is a full lap cap who loves to have his belly rubbed and if he had his way, would be carried constantly. He is often in my arms as I move from room to room. As mentioned, this makes his sister jealous, but luckily my lap is wide enough for two, and they are learning to share.

It’s really interesting that they do get along as well as they do, because their personalities are quite opposite. Max likes soft treats, Emma likes hard treats. Max wants his belly rubbed, Emma wants her head and ears rubbed. He is also quite fond of his vertical sisal scratching post, while Emma prefers the horizontal cardboard scratcher. Max plays with sproings and fur mice and toys that can be batted around, while Emma has several comfort toys (small stuffed animals) that she carries around like children and takes naps with. (They move from her bed to mine and back on a daily basis.) Quite adorable, really, and makes for a living room decked out to please every cat taste.

ZOE
Sweet, Petite, Lilac Meezer girl in search of couch potato, telecommuter, or happy homebody to share hours of snuggling and conversation. I will give lots of hugs and kisses, and only require unlimited time on your lap, your arm, your neck, and your pillow.

Oh, and I will be your biggest cheerleader - my short, bent, fluffy tail looks like a pom pom! You'll never see another one like it!

Please don't keep me waiting - click to ask about me! And watch my videos!
Notes from Home
8/24/15 Murray made the journey without much difficulty- a few meows. She has settled into her room nicely- although she spends a good deal of time under the bed- it hasn't yet been 48 hours. I think I will be changing her name to Zoe. She has been eating both wet and dry food and has been using the litter box. I was treated to a grooming session this morning around 6:30 am. I have slept with her in her room and she has cuddled me and given lots of head butts. The dog got into the room once while I was there with her and she definitely was afraid of him but he just wanted to sniff her butt. I made him leave and she calmed right down. She is interest ed in seeing what's outside her room but we will wait another day before i let her explore another room. She is so sweet!

Murray's name has been changed to Zoe at our vet. Vet gave her a thumbs up! Saying she looked good just need to try to brush her teeth! She was universally admired as pretty and sweet! She doesn't love car rides but did ok- just a lot of complaining. She guesses she's between 1.5-3 y/o. Now back home, she choked down on some food and curled up for a
nap- going to the vet is exhausting!
Zoe continues to do well. She is queen of the castle! She has gone nose to nose and nose to butt with the other cats and the dog. The dog wants to play with her but is still a little cautious. There is a tentative friendship beginning with Will. Lots of stares, sniffs but no hisses which is good. She follows me around when I'm doing house stuff except vacuuming- she and the dog head for the hills together when that noisy machine comes out! She's also a good eater and cuddler.

Zoe is doing very well. Will sleep in the same bed with the other cats!
Zoe is superb. She wold like to rule the roost! She is very verbal. She is a happy cat. She even plays with the dog and some toys. We all love her.

Meowey Christmas! Zoe is a love. She is a talker and sometimes we joke she is a squeak toy. touch her and she meows. She is super, super sweat=always wanting belly rubs. She plays with the dog- they chase each other and play with each other's toys. She is a chow hound- reminding me to feed her at any chance she gets but I am watching her weight for her. Everyone loves her and she is so friendly that everyone gets to pet her. My other two= well Lucy tolerates her (the 18 y/o) and Will is not particularly fond of her but oh well! We muddle on! Thank you so much for letting me add her to our family

Zoe is a wonderful kitty. She loves everyone and has really bonded with her dog. They even play together. She has also finally gotten some love from our other 17 y/o Siamese- Will. They have been witnessed cleaning each other. :) Love her so much she has brought joy into all our lives. One of my friends always jokes that he and Zoe are having an affair- don't tell his wife...:)

THOMAS
From a hoarding group of cats, I am TERRRRRIFIED of people. It's been several months and I'm making very very slow progress in that regard, although I sure do a lot of slow blinking to try to make friends.

I am cat friendly and totally non political and would be fine with another cat. But touch me? That isn't happening for a very long, long time. Hopefully before you're old and gray, but I can't promise. No fees, just looking for a home where I can hang out. Litterbox and food habits are good, not fussy in either department.

Thomas is a wonderful cat. He's turned into a really social cat with us. Loves to be pet, fed treats. He is all over the house, no fear of anything, including our dog Jake, who is 90 pounds. Loves to eat, play, good habits. We'll probably never be able to clip his nails! And he does not like to be picked up. But he is a real sweetheart. He's made such good progress getting over his fear of people

BLAZE
Hello! I'm Blaze and I'm going to blaze a path to my forever home!

I was dumped at a vegetable farm with my littermates. There were some dogs on the farm that were not cat friendly, so the people found someone to take us. Siamese Rescue was called for me and other rescues for my non-Siamese littermates. I've only been here 1 week, but foster mom says I have a huge Purrsonality! I'm pretty sure that's a good thing.

I love to play, play, play! Give me a toy or toilet paper or even a towel and I can entertain myself for a good long while....and entertain you, too! I also love to purr, purr, purr! I make lots of biscuits and purr the entire time I'm not playing! But there's lots to do, so I'm a typical wiggly kitten. I also will tell you in no uncertain terms when I'm unhappy or need something. Foster meowmy says I'm just too cute!

So what are you waiting for? Ask about me!!!!
Notes from Home
Stewart (Blaze- we have renamed him) got used to his new home quickly. He is a very playful, loving, quick energetic kitten and is a wiggleworm, too. He is a quick learner and is eating well. Stewart and his stepsister, London, are playing everyday. He is slowly being introduced to his older Aunt star (cat).

9/30/15- Stewart is doing very well and enjoys playing with "London" (his stepsister), and is also learning to live with his Aunt Star. He is now aware that everything is not a toy but has to be reminded from time to time. He is a joy to have around, loves to purr and is the lap cat around here.

8/29/16 - Well it has been about a year since adopting Stewart and he has become a handsome young flame adult. At his recent yearly vet visit he did well and is now 11 lbs, He is a very outgoing friendly cat to anyone who comes in our house . He is affectionate w his family and gets along well with adopted sister -London and older "Aunt" Star. He makes a good companion for London who is just about 1 1/2 yrs old now. He loves to play with throw toys and on stairs. He enjoys looking out the back window at the squirrel and birds outside which he may meow at occas.

LONDON W.
Okay I realize that I am not the top choice here but foster mom says you don't know what you are missing. I am a fun loving girl who just can't get enough of those wand toys. Sure I am a bit shy at first and I really don't like loud and noisy and too busy but I will follow you around to see what you are up to and sit close by to watch you. Sometimes I even sit right next to foster mom and ask for pets. So please give me a chance and ask about me.

Notes from Home
Hello, this is a 2 week update on London (formerly Willy). London is doing very well, she is a very pleasant, playful cat and we are just starting to introduce her to Blaze (2nd kitten adopted). She had a good vet visit and is a good eater and loves to play with the wand toy and look out the window. She can be very entertaining and makes us laugh.

HI , we have had London 4 wks now (how time flys). She continues to do well here and definitely enjoys playing with Stewart (formerly Blaze) everyday. She loves all the toys and can be quick when she wants a toy or her dinner! If she were a person she would be a type B - more laid back and usually quieter than her buddy Stewart (Type A). We are enjoying having London as part of our family.

3/5/16- Well it has been a little over 6 mo.s since we adopted London and time flies when you are having fun. She should be coming up to her 1st birthday soon (we will just estimate) and has grown into a beautiful young feline. She is the most inquisitive and active of the cats I have and is getting along spledidly with her "brother" Stewart. They enjoy playtime and chase, hide behind the doors, nap together etc.. London is very acrobatic and is a high jumper too! She likes to turn her head sideways and vocalizes in a chirplike manner (light talker). So glad we were able to adopt her, she is a joy to have.

8/29/16 London continues to be doing well here, she had her yearly vet visit and is about 12 lbs so we have adjusted feeding amts accordingly. She is comfortable with family but when we get visitors she is shy and usually goes upstairs. She likes to sit w/ us when we are watching TV at night time. She continues to enjoy playing w Stewart (cat), she likes the wand toys, playing on the stairs and watching the wildlife out the windows. She is a lovable cat and we are glad she is with us.

TWINKIE
Little bitty gal, I did little but purr when I got here, and am looking forward to lots of good things! I'm nervous at first and learning about playing, I like to lap sit for a short time, but I'm a bit inexperienced with lots of attention, so while I like it, you have to show me! I LOVE to play and that crinkle tunnel? Well that's the BOMB!!!! I think I'd love someone to play with, any cute young men out there?
Notes from Home
Teqa continues to be a perfect kitty! She and Sam are now best buds and they can usually be found curled up on the bed together, which is the only time she slows down enough for me to get a picture. We have dubbed her "the princess" as she is just so darn adorable!

MISTY
I'm finally on the mend and ready to find my furrever home. I am slightly shy at first, but if you come to me I will love it and will snuggle and purr. I'm a lovely lynx girl with the softest fur and oh so hopeful eyes.

I have found my best friend here at Meowmy's house and I want to go home with Loren, (VA10940). So if you ask about me you will be asking about him as well. We are a pair.

Notes from Home
Misty was very shy when we got her. We have been working with her to get her to be less timid but she does run away and prefers quiet surroundings. She does not like loud noises which startle her. She gets along well with Hershey. Misty is adjusting well and is starting to come around. She can be very friendly and lovable once you start scratching her head and patting her back or brushing her. She playfully nips at your hand or arm and nibbles on you. She is not running away from us as much and is getting used to interacting with us. Misty and Hershey fight from time to time, but they also play well together. Hershey wrestles with Misty a lot, but most of the Misty wins and knocks Hershey off of her. Misty loves to sleep in our cat tower. Misty is very lovable and we are thankful we adopted her with Hershey.

It is hard to believe that it has been a year since we had Misty. She has grown up. She was bigger than Hershey when we got her. Hershey is definitely bigger than her now. Both Misty and Hershey eat very well and love Fancy Feast, cat treats and are pampered by all of us. Our daughters adore them. We were just away on vacation for 2 weeks and had a pet sitter care for them who took excellent care of them in our home while we were away. The cats did miss us very much and were so glad when we came home on 8/27. Misty is a good girl and she rarely gets into trouble and loves to be brushed. Misty is no longer shy and is very friendly and outgoing and no longer hides on the kitchen chair for safety. She often sleeps on our bed and looks for our company. She gets along well with Hershey. They have been to our vet, Banfield Pet Hospital numerous times and were last seen in 7/16 for some shots. Hershey is much better in the car when going to the vet. he is very quiet and he is usually the vocal one. Misty meows a few times but is generally calm as well. She does not like going in the cat carrier and we have to sneak up on her to get her in the carrier now. They are both healthy with no medical problems. They are due to be seen again in 10/16 for a full regular checkup. The vet says that both Hershey and Misty look great. Both cats are active and play regularly and they fight occasionally. I am uploading some current pictures of both of them. We are so glad that we adopted them from Siamese rescue and would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks to our interviewer Alexis for helping us with the adoption and our adoptive pet parent.

We also want to thank all the volunteer drivers and coordinators who helped transport both Hershey (Loren) and Misty to us from Williamsburg, VA.

I'm a Sweet, Loving, Gentle little BOY!!!

I found my best friend here at Meowmy's and I want to go home with Misty,(VA10948).. If you ask about me you will be asking about her as well. We are a pair!

Loren

Notes from Home
Loren was a very active little kitten who we renamed Hershey. He is lovable, very affectionate and gets into everything. He opens cabinet doors in our kitchen and has scaled the pet gates and gotten past them. Both Hershey and Misty were confined to our living room and kitchen area and part of the laundry room where the litter boxes were located. Hershey and Misty have adjusted very well to their new home. Hershey is very outgoing and purrs even in his sleep. He is a great cat and we love him very much. I uploaded some pictures of him and Misty. Hershey is getting bigger. Hershey has a great appetite as well.

It is hard to believe that it has been a year since we had Hershey. He has grown up and is a big boy now. He gets into a little trouble though from time to time but does things that make us all laugh. He thinks he is a dog and chews on our shoes , belts and school bag straps, but is very lovable, friendly and outgoing and keeps us on our toes. He gets along well with Misty. They have been to our vet, Banfield Pet Hospital numerous times and were last seen in 7/16 for some shots. They are both healthy with no medical problems. They are due to be seen again in 10/16 for a full regular checkup. The vet says that both Hershey and Misty look great. Both cats are active and play regularly and they fight occasionally.
