Notes from Home
Odin is settling in well and has adjusted to his new home. He is playful with both Bassie and his toys, and asks for attention, on his terms of course. We enjoy snuggling (both on my lap at the same time) and of course would like to be there when I am reading or working on the computer. He is a joy!

2017- He is just the funniest cat. Odin doesn't like any type of noise and runs as the slightest sound. He is growing more affectionate and actually comes to be scratched and brushed. He loves being brushed and will come when he sees the brush come out. He is becoming more comfortable as time goes by.

1FEB2018

We survived the drive across the country and Odin did very well. I was concerned he would be totally stressed and he wasn't. He is very comfortable in his new environment and is very active in the evenings when we are hanging out or watching some TV. He stills runs at noises and is tentative at times. He comes to visit while I am working, however just to get his ears rubbed or a pat on the back. He is often on my bed at night and will sometimes sleep at the foot on the opposite of side me, where as Bassie is on my chest or neck.

He continues to be a joy and everyone loves him.

BASSIE
Ready made DARLING family. We adore each other, bet you couldn't tell. We have a fairy tale story, fell in love over Rescue, and haven't left each other's side yet.

Notes from Home
I took Bassie to my local vet and Dr. Austin recommended I take her to a specialist dentist in regards to her stomatitis. I have a referral although we have not seen the dentist yet. She is happy, playful and eating well.

I am so happy to have her in my home.

2017 - I have been remiss in updating the site for Bassie. She is a wonderful cat and so much fun to have around. She is very social and warms up to anyone who comes to the house. She is bringing out the best in Odin too.

1FEB2018

Bassie has had a very good year and has been a wonderful addition to my life. She is so friendly and wants to be in the center of it all. She is a real joy to have around, and she is always around. I've nearly tripped over her a couple of times as she has to be right with me.

Prior to our move Bassie saw Dr.Helen and was given a good bill of health. Her stomatitis is under control and she is eating dry and wet food, as well as soft treats. I am still giving her Wei Qi Booster and have added a L-lysine supplement for immune support to assist in reducing inflammation. She is maintaining her weight and doing very well.

We moved to AZ in early January and she traveled very well. She has settled into her new home and is comfortable with everyone in the house. She is sleeping on my bed at night and in any other location she feels like during the day. As I am working at home she will come and go throughout the day to sit on my lap for short periods of time.

I will be looking for a new vet for her and Odin in the near future. There is no small animal veterinarian in my home town so I'll be looking for someone within a hours drive.

I'm going to upload a couple of photos.

Notes from Home
Sofi is such a sweet little girl. She's come a long way in such a short period of time. She has adjusted to our daily routine and knows when to expect meals and family time. She will however let you know when you're a little late with her breakfast.
At first Sofi was a little apprehensive about her new big brother, Mojo. While they didn't really interact much at first, they quickly got use to one another. They now nap together on the cat tree or in Sofi's room on the big bed. They quickly found that they had much in common, feathers, birdies, cardboard boxes, head rubs, and the cat tree.
Sofi and my husband bonded quickly. He plays flying birdie with her and Mojo every morning. Sofi is quite athletic. She climbs the cat tree rather than jumping up to the various levels. We're teaching her to use the cat tree instead of the furniture to sharpen her nails and exercise.

JABRIL
I am a happy boy. I am a little sensitive so a home that is not too boisterous would be best for me. I would love to have another kitty in the home to play with me.

Notes from Home
We have changed Jabril's name to Luther. He seems very happy with it and comes running when called. Especially for treats. Luther and Priscilla have adjusted well and are best buds. They enjoy each others company by playing and even grooming each other. We are very happy with our furbaby family.

Just wanted to say thank you again to everyone involved to help bring Luther home.

Notes from Home
Champ is doing very well on this, his six month anniversary, in his forever home. He is eating well, using his litterbox like the champ he is, and being affectionate, playful, and a bit bossy. He's adjusted to his new home and enjoys nothing better than hurling his toys all around the apartment, and any of Mom's things he can pick up or push off a table. He wakes me up at 6:00, asking for his breakfast, after which he goes to the patio door and checks out any birds, squirrels or chipmunks who are going by. Then it's off to leap around in the bed while Mom tries to make it. In the evenings, he likes to watch the fireflies and occasionally makes a leap at one that gets to close to the screen. He's good with company although he's not too keen on the housekeeper running her vacuum cleaner in his territory! Champ is a champ in every way and he's been a joy since day one.

1/30/2018

Champ is continuing to do well here in his forever home. He just had a check up which showed his kidney disease has progressed somewhat, but is still not requiring more than diet control, though I don't think it will be too long before we may need to supplement that with periodic subcutaneous fluids. However, he had gained a little weight, which indicates he's still not in the phase of the disease where he is beginning to lose ground.

He did give me a little scare a couple of weeks ago when he, despite my best efforts to keep him away from doing so, threw up a segment of Christmas ribbon, necessitating an emergency trip to the vet. Fortunately, there didn't seem to be any more hidden away inside, so sighs of relief all around!

Champ has become a wonderful lap cat and now spends most of his afternoons snoozing on my knees in blissful oblivion. I'm including some photos to support this information but will have to switch to my laptop to do so, as my current device doesn't have enough memory to do it. Be sure and check for them later!

Thanks, as always, for bringing us together.

DAISY MAE
For a little lady, or should I say Princess, she knows what she likes and can be opinionated if unsure of what is going on.

A petite gal with a BIG purr.

No new pictures yet
Notes from Home
Daisy Mae is settling into her new home wonderfully. She is eating well although still a little nervous so Rich or I stay with her in the morning and evening while she eats. She has adjusted well to her cat box and production there is normal. We have opened most of the rooms to Daisy to explore while we are home with her. When we leave, we leave her room and ours open to her. As she has taken to sleeping with us, our room is now hers and she feels safest there. She is still shy around visitors to house and hides when some one new drops by. I feel she will move past this as she adjusts to her home. She is very courteous and follows us around the house.

LEIA
Got the mouse, in the house; on a roll, in a bowl; here and there, everywhere; pounce on your toes, give you nose; talk up a storm, keep you warm; hide and seek, please don't peek; tag you're it, catch the kit; no closed doors, the lion roars; snuggle tight, warm at night; early bird, yes I purred; leap and pounce, balls that bounce; in the sun, then off to run; love to play, could go all day; drop dead pritty, am I your kitty?

Leia is doing great! She is an absolutely joy! She keeps me on my toes-for sure! She no longer has any use for her bed as she finds mine much roomier. She is totally OBSESSED with strings and playing is mandatory on a daily basis.
She is the sweetest little girl and I'm so very happy she is mine!

It has been six months since Leia and I adopted each other. I am convinced she is child in a cat suit. She is the brightest, funniest, most vocal cat I've ever encountered. She absolutely demands my attention, and it is a joy giving it to her. She sleeps in her bed, uses her scratching post and gives kisses-could I really ask for anything more? I cannot imagine my life without her!
Update: Leia and I have been cohabitating for 4 years now. How time flies! She is just the best most beautiful cat ever! She has been and continues to be such a joy. Anyone who has come into my home has fallen in love with her. Meezers are truly a special breed!

FINN
Not sure whether you want a dog or a cat? Well, I could be the answer to your dilemma. I will follow you around like a puppy. I'm outgoing, curious, a little mischievous and playful, but I also enjoy lap time and don't need to be walked when it's cold or rainy outside. The best of both worlds.

Notes from Home
Finn is adjusting well to the new kittens. We have really enjoyed having him in our home.

He has settled down nicely with our kittens, and has been less nippy than when he first came to us, which is why we got kittens! They are all getting along beautifully...and play together, sleep together, groom together. We're so happy Finn is part of our family!

Finn has continued to get along wonderfully with the kittens, and we are so relieved he has settled down with the previous nippiness. Now he's all love and lap sitting!

Finn had a bout of sickness recently, some sort of infection that made his gums and back of his throat red/inflamed, but bloodwork came back normal. An antibiotic shot cleared things up and he's back to his fiesty self. We've so enjoyed having Finn in our house--can't imagine life without him! He plays with the kittens so nicely and they sleep/lick/eat together all the time. But Finn especially loves to sit on our laps, which we love. He's become part of the family and we're so glad we adopted him.

ERNIE
Almost two months inside where it's warm, lots of food and love. Poppa Peter put up a bird feeder outside just so I could watch the birdies!

While I'm still a bit of a shy boy, (Meowm Trish calls me the Turtle kitten-boy), today I discovered what fun it is to play with Dee Dee, the tiny kitten-girl who is also a foster meezerette here at the Italian B&B for Wayward Siamese. We romped around the family room much to Meown Trish's delight. She's so proud that I'm out and about with my tail up exploring. I like to play with the big orange silicon ball that's in my condo - it lights up!

I do speak up when it's time for meals, and use my litter box like the good kitten I am. Late at night, Meown can hear me playing with my toys. And do I love fresh cooked chicken and baked fish- YUM!

Do you have a young girl kitty to be my best friend?

Your boy Ernie

(note from Foster Meown Trish: Ernie is a bit under-socialized from living outside for nearly 6 months - His new family will need to very very patient and let him develop his social skills on his terms - he's making progress each day - his littermates are love bugs, so I think Ernie will be too, just on his own schedule! )

No new pictures yet
Notes from Home
Ernie was a withdrawn, scared little fellow, missing his best friend, little DeeDee. I slowly gained his trust by keeping him in his "safe"room, where he could survey the world from up on a perch in the towel closet. After a few days of feeding him favorite foods off my fingers, he let me pet and stroke him, rolling over and purring. I then allowed him to roam in the living room, and kept him from finding hiding places by putting his favorite sleeping Tee-Pee in the LR. Unfortunately, we had a vet appointment, I had to scruff him to get him to get into the carrier. He was good at the vet and deemed healthy, but we lost some of the trust-relationship that was so hard to achieve.
Ernie has evolved day by day... he has blossomed into a cuddler, a completely relaxed boy, who initially required time and patience and some trust gaining interventions using his favorite feather-toy to stroke him, then working my hand in instead of the feather! We still have a way to go, but he and Taylor are sleeping on my bed the last two nights. Ernie also attacks my Boston fern, which I in effect have given to him. More to come....Abi. See Utube video of Ernie and Taylor on their first night at "mau4meezers"

Three weeks later Ernie has grown, is a sleek muscular strong "teenager". He is very energetic, I need to play with him and his sister to diffuse some of their energy. He has taken to bullying Taylor, who is about half his size. She can stand up for herself, but sometimes I am afraid she'll be traumatized by it. Generally, they play together very well and share their food without territorial battles. (see Taylor's update)

Ernie and I are best buddies now. Its already been 6 months! With me he is so gentle and loving. He never gets enough playtime. Taylor, his sister is smaller and slightly younger and she tends to barge into Ernie's playtime and overtake everything. I try to keep Ernie feeling special by playing with him while Taylor is busy sleeping (or other things). Ernie dominates the food bowl and has a great appetite. Both kitties love to play in water, and I bought them a Drinkwell fountain for Ernie's birthday. You'll see from the pics that Ernie's eyes are vivid blue. My biggest problem is I want to show him off, and share him with friends. He has such severe stranger anxiety that very few friends have even seen him. He runs and hides under the bed. I really except Ernie as is....and he has come so far with me over the past 6 months that I'm hoping over time, this too shall pass.

This is the 1 Year anniversary of the day my boy came to me. We got to be best buddies and he shadows me everywhere except when he wants to get some daytime catnaps. He curls up on the fluffy down quilt every night, he actually sinks down into it so he's nice and warm. He still is shy with strangers but has come to trust some of my friends and my Dad the operative word is speak softly, no scary fast moves and Play, Play, Play! Ernie is not the kind of guy that can be bought with a good meal!
As for his playmate and sister Taylor.....the two of them are incorrigible! They chase each other around at night when I get home (want to play and eat) and wake me like good alarm clocks at 5AM every morning. Even on Sunday. They are evenly matched now in weight, although Ernie is a bigger cat. That means Taylor is too fat!
Ernie is very healthy, sleek and gorgeous. His back fur had darkened to a tawny-taupe color. his points and mask are nearly coal black, although he is technically "sable". I love him sooooo much and thank and bless the day he came to me.

It is the 2 yr anniv of Ernie arriving into my life and heart. His eyes are deep blue against his stunning, shiny black-seal pint mask. His last check up was excellent......no more tooth extractions needed. (During the fist year, E developed severe gingivitis and required all his molars to be extracted.) He eats quite well, and for a male cat prefers wet food over dry although does snack on Taylor's kibble. Ernie's favorite toy is the laser wand. I am carefully to keep it out of his eyes. He likes Da Bird and a wire wand toy that has sparkly Mylar and feathers. Some newer pictures.

Today Ernie is 3 yrs old. He is beautiful, sleek with a tawny back and dark sable points. His underside is a light buff/white with the black midline stripe. Eyes are deep blue. He is a one person cat and showers me with affection but gives all my friends a scared cold shoulder. I think we share a mutual admiration and I love to play with him. he even cuddles, which is very unusual for a feral cat. We have an affection seeking competition going on between Ernie and Taylor (my other rescue). In general they sleep together and play, but sometimes the play gets rough and one or the other will stalk their prey. At least they take turns. I am so fortunate to have Ernie. There is never a dull moment...Happy Bithday Dear Boy!
1/28/15- Its been 3 years with Ernie now.....My boy has become a loyal, faithful companion, so uniquely himself and a one-person-cat. He loves dogs but is so shy of other people. Ernie's antics keep me laughing and he loves to eat. I had his molars removed during his second year of life due to bone loss around his teeth, and that has not changed his eating habits. I am careful that he doesn't get large chunky food but he manages most everything else. He is sneaky and I have to keep him away from chocolate ice cream which is bad for him. He is a great companion for my little Taylor who teases him by playing coy. She sometimes has to fend off amorous advances (odd because they are both neutered). My Ernie and Taylor make my family complete. Thank all of you at the Siamese Rescue for bring Ernie to me, and a special appreciation to Trish Manfredi and Peter Kuck on this 3rd year anniversary!
6 year anniversary: Ernie is a true love. He is a good playmate for his sister and keeps me laughing everyday. Still a one person cat, he greets me at the door and curls up next to my legs at night. Taylor and I love him to pieces
