Notes from Home
Both Koko and Moka are doing extremely well and have fully integrated into our home. The time and attention spent by their foster (Debi Austin) has paid big dividends in their becoming loving, sociable kittens. They love attention from everyone, including complete strangers who have been delighted by their friendliness. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know their individual personalities and have had great fun watching them chase each other all over the house and playing with their toys. Could't have asked for more perfect kittens!

We couldn't have asked for more sweet, lovable, gorgeous kittens! Of course they aren't kittens any longer! Moka is now much larger than his sister Koko, probably from his habit of wanting to eat everything in sight! Koko is the reserved lady who gently "cheerups" her desire for attention, but she loves to play with her toys and to play fetch with her favorite mouse. Moka is now a "daddy's boy", spending lots of time in his lap giving him licks and kitty kisses. As you can see from the picture (Moka is the one with his leg over Koko), they still love to groom and sleep with each other, not to mention chasing each other all over the house. Perfect kitties!
It's been a year since my brother, Moka and I came to our furever home and we are loving life! We still love each other and play and groom each other and sometimes play fight but at the end of the day we love snuggling together with Meowmy and Dad in their nice warm bed. Moka is a daddy's boy but I love snuggling on Meowmy's shoulder for a quick hug. I've included some pics of me and my brother so you can admire how beautiful we've become. Purrs and chirps to all at SCRC for helping us to find our perfect home.
Gosh, has it been two years already? Time flies when you're having fun! My brother, Moka, and I are still loving life in our furever home. Not much has changed since last year, except my brother has gotten fatter, actually, he just a big, solid, boy. I, of course, am still a little, trim siamese girl. We have had a little excitement lately, our neighbors have adopted a kitty that they let outside and he visits us everyday. I'd like to make friends but my brother isn't so sure that's a good idea! Hope it doesn't upset him too much. Meowmy and PawPaw are having a wonderful time as Meezer Transporters helping to bring my siamese brothers and sisters to their furever homes. All of us couldn't be happier!
I still can't believe that time has gone by so quickly! It has now been 4 years since we came to our furever home and I couldn't be happier. I'm still a dainty little girl who watches my figure unlike my brother Moka who loves to eat! We still like to play together, but sometimes my brother wants to play too rough, so I have to put him in his place! We still love cuddling together in front of the fireplace, but otherwise I want my space! Meowmy has added some new pictures so that you can enjoy how beautiful I am.

Hunka hunka flaming love!!!!

Looking for a kitty that will settle in instantly? That's me! Change does not bother me at all. I just go with the flow. If you have a busy home or a quiet home or one in between, I will fit right in. Easy peasy.

Be sure to watch my video and watch till the end. Foster mom will keep trying to get some good photos of me so check back often.

I will be ready to go after I see the vet on Friday. How about it?

He is so awesome! Angus acts as if he's always lived here. He is just an affectionate and loving big boy. He sleeps in bed with us and has his spot on the couch. He is also starting to show more of his playful side. I'm so very glad we paired together

I am just like my name - a big cuddly teddy bear with a distinguished air. I love attention, especially cuddling and sleeping with my humans. I also love other animals - dogs and cats! I am polite with the litter box, am friendly and laid back with new people, and even like being picked up and carried around! Sometimes I play with toy mice, but my favorite is cuddling. All I want is my own family to love!

My name is Greenleigh. I was named for the place I was found - but mom calls me 'LeeLee' for short. I was trapped at around 7 weeks old, so I'm a little timid of people until I get to know them. Right now I like playing with my kitty friends instead of mom, but when she does get her paws on me, I LOVE the attention. I purr and roll and meow and headbutt her - I love to be loved. Sometimes I tend to forget how much I love mom in between visits, and we have to start all over again. My roommates are very friendly with people, so I'm learning that people are ok.

UPDATE: My adoption fell through on July 15th (thru no fault of my own), so I'm available again! I've made incredible strides here in Fosterville, and am getting along with the other kittens and am not so scared of my people anymore. As a matter of fact, I talk to mom nonstop in the morning and follow her around. I'd prefer to not have to travel too far to my home. I'm scared and vocal in the carrier and the shorter distance to my new home, the better!
Notes from Home
Our little princess just gets cuter every day. She is finally feeling fit after a battle with tummy troubles. Poor Daddy was the bad guy for meds, so she's definitely Mommy's girl right now. She loves her toys -especially a little canvas fish she carries eveywhere!

We've just passed the one month mark. Zoe still has to have her special prescription food but scarfs it up at mealtimes. She is growing like weed - 5 pounds last check. She has the run of the house now, plays hard then just collapses in a heap ......

Zoe's little brother Mango joined our family in October. She wasn't sure she wanted a brother at first but has decided he can stay. They act like real siblings, arguing one minute and perfectly happy with each other the next. Zoe wishes he had a little less energy, however. One thing that is non-negotiable is Mommy's lap -that is definitely hers!!!

I'm a healthy, playful fella who's looking for a forever home with another cat or kitten to play with. I love to wrestle with them so hopefully your cat will accept my advances.

I'm a bit shy around strangers, but I'm getting braver each day. Meowmy says I can go home around the middle of October.

Do I sound like the guy of your dreams? If so, ask about me and maybe your dreams will come true!

Mango is settling in nicely with his new family. He and big sister Zoe have decided they can coexist. He does try her patience a bit as he is so full of energy. Mango is definitely his Daddy's boy, cuddling up with him in the recliner in the evenings.

I'm Jerry. When I first got here I was so scared and depressed that I wouldn't eat and Meowmy had to syringe food into my mouth. She petted me and loved on me and helped me be brave and now she says I'm a total love bug. I head butt her and rub all over her.

I'm thinking I'd like to be friends with the other cats here, but they others hiss and growl at me when I try to say hello, so I just sit on Meowmys lap and hang out. I also like little dogs. I used to live with a Pug and and MinPin.

If I sound like I'd fit into your family, please ask about me so I can go to a place where the other cats like me.

Jerry has settled in wonderfully. It took him a few months to adjust to his new home but all of his bad behaviors from his previous life are all gone. He is till very skittish but we make him comfortable and I think he really loves it here. He has become much more vocal which is great, his coat has filled out and become super healthy, and he loves our other cat (they are inseparable. They play and sleep together all the time).

This cat will not tolerate any other cats in the home. A dog may still be a possibility though.Must be Only Cat

I know you are probably thinking "why is such a gorgeous young meezer boy hanging out on this website so long" and the answer is that I'm being picky!!

If you are looking for a young man with tons of energy to burn, then I'm your guy. I need to play, I need to race and run about...get out that wand toy, get out that laser pointer and let's have some fun.

Come on, ask about me! Foster Pops really wants to see me be in a home of my own without any feline competition for attention. (I'm tiring the old guy out...so much fun.) I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Gotta run and catch those sunbeams.

On my part I promise to be good to the furniture, to always use the kitty box, and to follow you around when you come home to talk to you about your day.
Notes from Home
Simba is doing great. He is much loved. We are having such a good time with him. He owns this house we are just guest. Now that it is warm and the windows are open he is in every one of them checking out the scene. I can't imagine my life without him. He is such a delight. I am amazed how far he has come. Cuddles with us, talks up a storm. And when Stella my sister-in-law's dog visits Simba is in total control. He is in charge and this is his home. He is just full of it. Fresh fresh fresh and I love that about him. Fun to come home to greet me every night at the door. Best choice I ever made adopting Simba.

A lot has happened this past year. Simba caught his first mouse,we were so proud of him. He spends most nights hunting on mom's side of the house that seems to be where they get in. He has got lucky twice. The second mouse we were able to rescue and release outside. He is up most nights on the prowl comes to bed early morning to cuddle and have his belly rubbed. Loves to be in the kitchen when we are cooking always hoping for a hand out, he has no problem letting us know what he wants. If he thinks he is being ignored he will whack you in the legs then take off it is his form of tag. He had his vet check up and Houdini managed to get out of the carrier and crawl all over the car, use ties to keep the carrier closed on the way home. He seemed OK once we got back in the car to go home I wonder if he thought we were giving him away. Like that is ever going to happen he is family now.

It's hard to believe two years have passed Simba has truly evolved into the cat he was always met to be. He is quite a character. He rules the house and is truly an Alfa male,he is not afraid of Stella my sister in laws sheltie when she is here he keeps her in her place. He has nailed Stella a few times so she is wary of him it is funny to watch them work out their turf. The only time they call a truce is when food is being prepared and they are side by side begging.

Simba now ventures out when we have guest,he even lets of them pet him, he has come a long way and feels very safe in his home. He now cuddles with both of us sleeping between us at night. Bird watching is still his favorite pass time,he loves it when the turkeys come close to the house, tail twitching and chirping. We both truly enjoy him.

(Last update: Nov 27th, 2016 9pm)

I came from a hoarder home where none of us got much attention - there were 50 of us. I'm not scared of people, but I haven't yet figured out that people can be good things. I love other cats - every sex, every shape, every color. I am very playful, and really love to romp and play with toys. I am neat in my litter box. I love sitting in the sun in a cat tree. I love my food, especially the canned kind with chunks and gravy (oh, how I love the Fancy Feast gravy lovers but I also eat the good kinds too, like Blue Buffalo flaked chicken in sauce). I do not scratch inappropriately. I talk to foster mom, and do not run away from her. However I do prefer that she only pets me a little, and only when I am in the cat tree. Why? Because, that's why! I do talk to her, especially if she is late with breakfast.

I am very happy here, and slowly getting more social. Do you have a cat that needs a friend? Then maybe I am the friend he or she needs, as I love everyone and I am sure I would like your lonely kitty too. Ask about me - take a chance! I am not one of those needy kitties that has to be draped on you every waking moment, I do not get jealous if you pet your other kitties instead of me. I will play with all those toys that your picky cats have scorned. I am a very pretty and petite darker seal point, but love to tease foster mom into thinking she can get a nice picture of me and then I move.

So - take a chance, and ask about me! Who knows, I might be just what you and your other cat or cats are looking for.

No pictures yet, but Madalena has taken over. Who would have thought that she would be such a diva? She is extremely active and now knows the house from top to bottom. She approaches me of her own free will, but still won't let me touch her. That's fine with me; what's important is that she is interacting with Jeremiah, as I had hoped she would. I love that she is very vocal, especially because Jeremiah essentially has no voice (chirps and squeaks). I am hoping that by February they will be so used to each other that I can bring in another...

This foster home a pretty good gig. Plenty of food and lots of love. Speaking of love, I really like to be petted, and I don't mind being held. I'm a pretty laid back kinda guy, and I even have a few words of conversation now and then. I was a stray but foster mom says I must have belonged to somebody because I'm so nice! I met the dog here, and she's not so bad. I get along with all the cats too! Do you have room in your heart for a handsome boy with big blue eyes to gaze into? That's me!
Notes from Home
11/26 @ 6.5 months
Everyone is lovely here. George Orwell is happy and feels more and more secure every day.

Even though Georgie integrated very quickly, it's interesting that I can still see little bits of additional relaxation with each passing day. He used to always stand up when petted him. Now, he is comfortable remaining lying down and just lifting his head. He now loves to stretch out and have his chin and neck rubbed whereas he used to be more comfortable sticking with head petting and behind his ears. He used to trot fast when traveling between rooms. Now he is more likely to saunter or pause in the hallway if he feels like it. He still loves to groom but is slightly less obsessive about it.

We had a breakthrough in nail clipping thanks to Maggie. One day, Maggie saw that Georgie was nervous when I was clipping his nails. So, she came over and inserted herself to have hers done. She sat purring and blinking her eyes at Georgie while I clipped her nails. He watched the process very intently. Then, when her turn was over, he came over to have his finished too. Since then, it's been much easier. I can't say he likes it, but he's much less anxious about it since she showed him that it is ok.

Georgie likes to be close to both Maggie and me when resting. He often sits with a paw or his tail touching one of us. If I go out, i usually come home to find Maggie and Georgie sleeping along side each other on the bed. Overall, Georgie would like the whole family to hang out in the same room all the time. If Maggie has gone to sleep in the bedroom and I am out in the living room, Georgie will check both places and rub up against me demanding attention. If I then go move to the bedroom to read my book, Georgie settles down next to us and purrs and purrs with the joy of having his whole family together.

Georgie still has his pot belly but since his digestion is stable and he seems otherwise healthy and unbothered, we're just letting it ride. Not worth risking further tests with his heart murmur.

The two kitties and I are a great team. Georgie just wants to belong. Maggie wants everyone to be happy. And I want us all to get along. It makes for a happy and harmonious household.

9/19 @ 4.5 months
Georgie is doing splendidly. His protein counts on his last vet visit were normal and his pot belly, although not gone yet, has reduced slightly. He's gained more than a pound and a lot of it is muscle. His neck, shoulders and spine are not as boney and he seems stronger too. His fur has also grown thicker, plush and soft. His poo is still quite stinky and tummy rather gurgley compared to any other cat I've known. I was considering trying one of the probiotics to see if that helps.

He and Maggie are friends now. They don't nap touching each other, but they like to be nearby. Georgie is still a bit possessive about human attention and toys and Maggie is still trying to convince him to wrestle more often and more gently, but their interactions are all positive. Lots of mutual grooming is always occurring. I'm still using the Feliway multicat diffuser, but I plug it in in nights only -- mostly because I think it helps make Georgie a bit less possessive.

Georgie is such a sweet soul and loves to get pets from everyone who comes over. Maggie and I love him very much.

Sat 6/25 @ 7 weeks
Our household has settled into a nice rhythm. Georgie really is a wonderful match for Maggie and he makes me so happy.

Georgie is a very enthusiastic groomer. He likes to give sweeping sloppy wet licks, which Maggie finds a bit much. Maggie thinks aggressive grooming means playtime and sometimes rolls over to try and play which confuses him. But other times, Maggie will only let him get in a couple good licks before she walks away. They are still figuring each other out.

Georgie gets a few twinges of jealousy - particularly around human attention or playtime. He's still food insecure from being a stray and his unsettled tummy issues, but since Maggie always lets him eat first, no more competition around food. Litter box has also not been a point of concern. Both cats now prefer Georgie's bathroom box but I occasionally find something in the other one so it's good to keep both.

Georgie is squirmy when picked up but we're working on that. He really likes it once he's up on the shoulder, but he is unsure of the getting there part. He also really hates getting his nails clipped, so we're slowly moving towards that too. Otherwise, he loves to be petted and purrs at even the slightest touch. He always goes to get a quick snack after any petting/attention so there's some psychological connection there from before rescue.

Unfortunately, the fluid in his abdomen is still there. He's had a few times of wet poo and puking from time to time but I can't quite see a pattern in what is setting it off. His stomach is significantly less gurgley on 100% wet food and anything with fish seems to be a no-no. But the rest is still a mystery. We go to the vet next week for a blood test to see if there has been any progress in the protein numbers. Fingers crossed.

Sat 5/14 @ 1 week
Integration is progressing beautifully. I got Georgie to play in front of Maggie, and that has made a huge difference. Georgie is motivated by food but Maggie is motivated by play. Once Maggie saw that he plays, she got a lot more interested fast.

They can now be together for an hour or two at a time. I'll keep him away from the bedroom a couple more days because Maggie has been backing down anytime he acts too forward, but she hissed and got upset when she saw him on the bed.

This morning, I woke up to find that Georgie escaped his isolation room and was sitting calmly on the couch. The stacked baby gates were still in place so he has obviously figured how to climb them and squeeze through the small gap near the top of the door. So much for that strategy. I'll have to go back to a closed door for time outs.

Things are mostly calm with some tension over resources. They can be in the same room hanging out - except during meal times and litter box needs. Georgie is a possessive of food so I need to separate them for Maggie to eat or Georgie won't let her. I'm leaving a few extra plates of food around to alleviate that as a resource issue. Also, they both get a bit hissy if either of them tries to go near each other's box.

Not completely integrated, but progress has been excellent. After all, it's only been a week!

Mon 5/9
Georgie (Linc) has been home just over a day and things are going splendidly. He's eaten, had lots of water and used his box. He's very affectionate and loves his new mille bed (thanks SR!). So far, he's much more interested in food and petting than toys.

Georgie and Maggie have already made eye contact through the baby gate and both are reacting positively and interested. I hadn't intended to let them catch sight of each other so quickly but both cats are already willing to be petted and purr while sniffing at the door and to eat right next to the door. Since both seemed eager to see each other, I'm giving them a visual for a minute through the baby gate as I go into the room. Not a single hiss or growl so far. Maggie is sitting calmly and giving eye blinks and Georgie is lowering his head and rubbing it against the door.

I can't believe they so friendly towards each other after just 24 hours. Amazing. I'm very encouraged!
