This cat is not suitable for children under the age of 5 (ie 5 and over is OK). This is typically a cat that is shy and a child might scare it, or one that has a potential to bite or play too hardNot with kids under 5
This cat will not tolerate any other cats in the home. A dog may still be a possibility though.Must be Only Cat

I can't believe it's been 2 years!!! Sookie Monster is quirky, funny and a lot of love. She has come a long way. When we first got Sookie she would sit arms distance wanting to be pet but would go away if we got too close. Now she sits on my chest every morning, licks my nose and head butts my mouth when she wants kisses. She curious and playful and still loves her solid gold treats, She loves to talk and her different mews make us smile.

OZZY
Hi folks! Settling here nicely but I really want to be outside but that's against the rules. Oh and I'm a little over a year contrary to the initial report and I act my age or YOUNGER!! Ever had a kitten? Well adopt me and you'll know what it's like to have one. I'm everywhere (including your lap) and into everything so be prepared to "Osbourne proof" your house for me. Foster Mom can tell you what I'm talking about and it's not a bad thing but a FUN thing! Are you ready to have some FUN? If so, I'm ready too!!

Love,
Osbourne

Notes from Home
040410 - The following posts are copy and pasted from emails that I have sent to Kathy, folks in the Meeser Express and to Peggy, in an attempt to bring everyone up to date on the entire process.

032010 - We arrived at the home destination around 7:20pm. Construction on I495 screwed up my GPS directions and I missed a turn for I295 miles before I needed to get off and ONLY from a Local traffic lane. That put me on a course around the East side of I495 and a little bit longer journey. Maybe that was meant to be since once on the Northern end of I295 traffic was stop and go a large portion of the trip. Once back in Baltimore, I promised to stop off so that my sister could see the newest addition to the family. He was a real character during the entire trip. The chatter only popped up from time to time, however, he pulled every last trick out of his book to get my attention. The two best trick were a long reach through one of only 2 of the larger openings in the carrier door in an attempt to tap me on the elbow that was resting on the arm rest (His front paw was out of the carrier well beyond his elbow). The other trick, he would grab on to the carrier door and use that to turn himself over, feet up in the air then lay there and wait for me to talk to him. I am sure he would have loved a belly rub at this point but driving made that a little bit of a problem. I was also amazed at his Houdini act after a visit with my sister. Somehow, he managed to get his collar off and then played with it the rest of the trip.

Since home, he has gone absolutely crazy with all of the new hiding places in my bedroom. He has also shown the playful side at home, but I will have to break him from biting on my toes....LOL!!! I have already been able to hold him like a baby which turns that motor on to run nice and loud. While in that position, he also likes to grab hold of the fingers with his sharp little teeth. It is amazing as well how much he is like our first Siamese that was put down several years ago. As I walk through the bedroom, he will grab to the ankles. I have already told my father he will need to be really careful once we let the little guy roam the house. The Siamese playfulness is clearly in this kitty's personality. I am really anxious to see how he handles having the entire run of the house, of course with another feline, Anna. So far, I have been amazed with his behavior. I left his carrier next to the litter box for now. He has been in and out of it several times this evening; maybe it is a safe area for him at this time. He has been bouncing around the room since released, but loves to hide under the bed just to jump out at my toes every now and then. Now that he has slept all day in travel, he will most likely be running most of the night. LOL!!!!

Anna, the Siamese with the current run of the house has not yet seen the new family member, but it seems clear that she is aware that SOMETHING is different.

Thanks to everyone who had a part in the transportation of the little guy! He will clearly be a bright and interesting addition to my daily routine.

032110 - Kathy, funny you should ask about getting any sleep the first night. I had started this email below before I got your email about getting any sleep:

Wow, what a first night for this guy in a new home. I put him in his bed that was sent with him, he smelled around and knew it was his, but didnt stay there long. Once the lights were off, he was in my face and his motor NEVER stopped. In fact he woke me up twice with the motor running. In my ear, it eliminates the 18 wheeler noise going up the main drag in front of our house. I bought a new computer desk that looks sort of like a hospital table that hovers over beds so that I could do some computer work in my bedroom during the next few days of adjustment. Last evening after sending your the email, he laid down on my bed and just hung his head over my leg I had to wake him up so that I could go to bed.

Currently, he is memorized by the traffic outside. I opened the window just a little and he has already perched there watching all the new sights.

He has already eaten dry food and has used his litter box.

I now have white hair over my blue comforter. Looks like he is losing his winter coat. I noticed the brush so it appears he has been losing it for sometime. Based on our other Siamese, he should eventually stop the shedding. Thats what they make those sticky rollers for I suppose.

I really appreciate all of the items in the Goodie Bag. I wont need to buy toys for a LONG time. When he gets out to the real world, he will be amazed with even more toys as Anna has a lot but seldom plays with them.

On a side note, two days ago, the spring pollen kicked up and is throwing my allergies for a tizzy. Once I get the spring stuff under control, I will be in much better shape!

Finally, his nipping and gnawing on fingers and toes ....is that just a young thing that with time will grow out of or is that a Siamese thing. Any ideas how to at least depress it a little?

040410 - Let me do this update a little in reverse, chronologically, so that I don’t forget to include this information. We have our first vet appointment scheduled for Friday, April 9 for his first general check-up and physical. When I made the appointment, I told them that info about the cat had been faxed to them already and they stated that have nothing. No problem! I have all the links and data that Kathy had sent to me from previous vet visits and I will simply print it out and take it along.

Keeping Ozzy quarantined from Anna was a real chore. It lasted a grand total of about 2 ½ days before he figured out how to get out of my room. Anna was a little help in that she had already learned to open my bedroom door from the outside and surprised Ozzy once or twice, sending him scurrying under the bed. During the night of the 3rd day, I hear my door shaking and rattling, which woke me up, of course. Before I could get to the door, I find Ozzy lying just outside my door, staring at Anna who is laying on the floor staring at him with about 6 feet between them. Fortunately, by this time, I was able to find that he had already used the litter box and was eating his food AND was a very active little guy.

Anna, being queen of the house, so she thought, has this muffled, under her breath growl with an occasional hiss that sounds really nasty (HAHA!!!) but never phased Ozzy at all. Since, they have chased each other up and down the stairs and around the living room in something just shy of a nor-easter. Frequently, the storm ends with Anna having her fill of fun and the normal under the breath growl and hiss. I told Peggy and Kathy that I was waiting for Ozzy to run past Anna and swat her on the butt. That has happened frequently in the midst of the chase. Anna either tires of the play or feels that further play is just totally unnecessary for the queen of the house.

Recently, I have been working 3 days a week. Those 3 days are generally 9 to 10 hour days. When I get home, about 9:30 pm, he is generally on a chair next to my father at the kitchen table. According to my father, he spends a lot of his time there sleeping from dinner time until I get home. When I walk to the door, it is not unusual to be greeted by a little of his talking. I finish my late dinner and he is sitting on my lap while I am checking email. If I get up from the computer, he is now stretched out on the chair and I have to get another chair OR as I sit down, he will jump in the chair behind me and wants to take 2/3s of the chair and graciously allows me to have the front 1/3 of the chair. It is not unusual for us to have a nightly tussle of whether or not he will get up on my computer table or not. A squirt pistol has assisted with that decision a little bit recently. A spray bottle has proven VERY effective in keeping him off the kitchen table. He got sprayed, maybe twice and now when he sees the bottle in my hand he goes scurrying or does not get up at all.

April Fool’s day we made our first trip to the shore. Normally the trip is a 3.5 hour ride to my Eastern Shore home stopping only for personal rest stops (food and bathroom)/leg stretching/gas, etc. This trip took about 5 hours as I had pre-planned to briefly visit with my aunt in the nursing home before leaving the Baltimore area. This was the first time we have traveled with him since bringing him home on March 20th. The ride from home to the nursing home was a little noisy (about 25 minutes). Found out that my aunt had left the facility for a doctor’s appointment so we didn’t stay but a few minutes. Before putting the carrier back into the car, I rearranged the back seat and stacked him and Anna on top of each other. Once he was up so he could see, he laid down and I heard very little from him the rest of the trip.

Since arriving at the Eastern Shore home, Ozzy has been more fascinated than a 3 years old with an Easter-egg hunt. LOL!!!! He is finding sooooooo many more hiding places with a second home to live in. He is amazed with the noises of the birds he is hearing from the screened in porch area and even more places to hide out there. He has also found that I have vertical blinds that make interesting places to play hide and seek.

When he is not sleeping, in addition to hide and seek, pester his adult family and chase the house queen, Ozzy has found a lot of fun times playing in a nylon tunnel I found for him at the local Walmat store ($7.98 for all the fun he has had), chasing any wand we pick up OR chasing in circles after the little red spot on the floor that never stops moving….haha!!!! We found a SmartyKat Loco!Laser at the Walmat for $4.00, another cheap investment to drive him LOCO!!!!!

Long story short, I must tell you that is this kitty is over a year old, I will eat my fingers instead of letting Ozzy eat them. HAHA!!! I am not upset at the difference in the age, if fact it’s kind of kool. He is constantly nibbling on fingers or toes. He will start off with a heavy duty licking with that rough sandpaper tongue of his and then when he thinks he has put you to sleep or you aren’t paying attention, he will get a little rougher. He has learned that when I say STOP he goes back to licking or dashes off only to return a few minutes later purring his little heart out. He LOVES to play hide and seek when I am making the bed. It ok when you know he’s there, but often times he will appear to leave the bedroom and then come back under the bed and surprise me. Is not nice to fool people!!! LOL!

It is absolutely amazing how many personality traits that this kitty has that mimics the seal point we had to put down 5 years ago due to kidney failure (1 ½ months after mom passed – he was her cat). We hold him like a baby and he purrs his heart out, chasing feet, chasing the laser pointer, I have to fight him off to get into my bean bag chair (he likes to sleep there), and on and on and on. My father has even commented that he has far more personality that Anna, but Anna is still her little Queen!!! LOL!!!

Thank God for an Easter Sunday with lots of free time; that time allows me an opportunity to write this long update for you. Ozzy has become a very interesting part of the family in just 2 weeks. After a very stressful close to 2009, it is so much fun to walk into a room with a kitty who is just looking for ALL the attention you can give him while he is awake.

Have a VERY HAPPY Easter/Holiday weekend!!!!!! Thanks for the help from each and every one of you in Ozzy’s adoption!

040910 - Ozzy just came back from his first vet visit at 9:30am this morning. The little boy is getting to be a big boy already. The vet weighed him in at 7.75 pounds (only about a pound shy of his 5.5 year old "sister" Anna) of squirming kitty flesh. He was squirming so much, the vet could hardly listen to his heart with the stethoscope. Vet says he is in great health and was amazed when I told her that he was originally a stray. Ozzy made a big hit in the office. The vet assistant who checked us in told the rest of the staff about the really pretty kitty and many other staff members had to see him before we left office. The entire staff was amazed that he was a stray but they LOVED his color marking!

041910 - Of all the fantastic and realist information provided for me regarding Ozzy, there was one thing that was omitted. Ozzy has become the purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrfect alarm clock. He has successfully awaked me now as early as 4am, 4:15am, 5:20am and as late as 6:20am. My normal alarm clock time is between 6:30 and 7am so 6:20am is good; too bad that has only happened once. Obviously, he thinks that everyone sleeps when he sleeps. HAHAHA!!!!

We have taken two trips to the Eastern Shore. Both trips, as long as he can see who is in the vehicle, he rides VERY well. If he can’t see us, he is talking/crying constantly. Once at the shore house, he loves the screened in porch. I am waiting for him to have a conversation with the local bird families; I know it is only a matter of time.

Since he was adopted, he has learned a few tricks. He is now dancing really nicely with the help of this little red dot that just seems to chase him all over the room. He has also learned how to slide through a 4 foot long nylon tunnel trying to catch up with that red dot that just appears out of nowhere but always tries to run over his feet. Whenever he sees it in the tunnel, he will start to run and then slides the rest of the way. Amazing how hard we have laughed while he plays with the laser pointer.

050210 - Ozzy is GROWING like a weed! I still agree with Kathy, he was considerably younger than was originally thought, but that was fine for me. He and Annie are getting along, in fact, this morning, I watched Ozzy and Annie lay side-by-side on a clothes hamper looking outside (first REALLY warm weekend to open windows). Ozzy went to put his paw on Annie and she sprung up and "boxed" him with a left jab, and a right hook and took off running. Ozzy laid there wondering what the heck just happened (LOL!!!!) Ozzy has clearly gotten the "lay of the land" in the month he has been here. He will go from one thing to another with the look in his eyes "what can I get into next?”. He still loves to nibble on fingers or ears and even got my sister's nose last weekend. He doesn't bite hard, just enough to let you know that he has nipped you.

Ozzy has been to the beach twice so far; once with Annie and once solo. The weekend of the solo trip, my father called me to tell me that I would have to leave Ozzy home the next time for Annie. Annie was roaming around looking for Ozzy the entire weekend.

Have a great week!
Chuck

April 1, 2018 (This is not an April Fools...haha)

Hello Meezer family!

Hard to believe that the 8th anniversary if Ozzy’s adoption is here already. Boy does time fly!

First, I must apologize for not updating more frequently, but it seems that Ozzy’s adoption anniversary falls right before tax time. This is the first time in YEARS that I have taken taxes to the accountant in the middle of March instead of right before the April deadline. Maybe that change is responsible for the 4 consecutive Nor’easters hitting the east coast in the past 3 weeks. Regardless, I wanted to give you a complete update since things have changed immensely since since Ozzy first entered the household. I am sorry in advance for the length.

When Ozzy came home 8 years ago, he became the second in this household. My father had a Chocolate Point Siamese, so Ozzy had a sister to meet when he arrived at his fur ever home. Keeping them separated was literally impossible. Annie, his sister, I believe was more afraid of me than she was of Ozzy (When Annie was adopted, she had a bad eye infection and because of the kitten’s sharp claws, I would hold her in a towel while Dad administered the eye drops. She never forgot that and ran from me always.) Ozzy, however, made a big hit with Dad and i would come home from work to find him holding him sitting at the kitchen table.

I think that Dad even missed Ozzy when he would travel with me to the eastern shore vacation home. There were weekends that Dad would travel along and we always took Annie along as well even though Annie was not an overly friendly cat with Ozzy or I either one.

Fast forward to Christmas Eve of 2010. Dad and I went out to eat and leaving the restaurant Dad fell and broke his hip. That left me to care for a cat who did not want me to be near her and eventually missed Dad immensely.

Dad was in rehab during winter and spring of 2011 and had a room looking at the garden area of the facility. He loved watching one of the residents feed the feral cats that had adopted the facility to be their home. As spring approached, I would hear about these cats daily when I visited. Dad had his eye on one of the female cats and eventually told the staff that mother cat was going to have a litter and he wanted one just like mother. (mother was a beautiful tuxedo). Sure enough, the mother had a litter of 4 and there was a black and white tuxedo in the litter.

Father’s Day, 2011, Dad (or shall I say, me) adopted a cute 6 week old tuxedo kitten to join Annie and Ozzy. The tuxedo was named Sunny and he visited Dad in the rehab and later assisted livings every day he was there. Sunny became well known among the staff at all of the facilities he stayed in for the next few years.

While Dad was in-patient, we experienced health issues with Annie. First she developed dermatology issues that i feel sure had lots to do with Dad’s absence in the long run. It is unfortunate that it took her getting sick to allow me to handle her and love her as Ii was with Ozzy and Sunny. Once Annie’s skin had healed, I began taking her to the vacation home for weekends also since she was now allowing me to pick her up and put her in the carrier. All was good until November 12, 2012. The 3 cats and I were at the vacation home and about 5am I was awakened by a blood curdling meow. I went to find Annie was near my room and had blood on her face but could not find any injury. I found blood on her blanket where she was sleeping in Dad’s room.

Saturday morning, I was able to get an emergency appointment at a local vet. According to her and the staff, Annie’s core temperature had dropped very low and they had her on hot blankets for about 40 minutes and the temperature did not change. The vet felt that the blood at her mouth was most likely the result of a cancer. I explained that i had seen nothing to give warning signs and the vet explained that it was most likely inward until the blood started to appear. The vet said that we could spend lots of money to treat and have no success. She recommended putting her down. That is the hardest thing I ever had to do and it wasn’t even my cat. Sure ruined that weekend! Taking 2 cat carriers home instead of 3 was quite hard.

Taking Sunny to see Dad, like I said was quite popular, even with the other residents. Dad eventually got frustrated with Sunny, since he could not hold him. Sunny, even though I got him at 6 weeks old, he is not one who likes to be held, UNLESS he WANTS to be held. Dad could hold Ozzy, but for him it was not the same.

In early 2015, my sister and I began discussing bringing Dad home from the assisted living. He was confined to a wheelchair so we needed to make adjustments at home, and needed to have a chairlift installed since he wanted NOTHING to do with having a bedroom downstairs. As we got closer to the day of departure from the assisted living, Dad would see cats on TV and say he wanted a lap cat when he gets home. Then he would see a cute dog on TV and want a dog. I had to spoil what I tried to make a surprise but i did not want to talk dogs and cats at the same time.

I had already found a female cat for Dad. June 7, we brought Dad home but there was an understanding that we would not adopt the cat until he had been home for a month. Trying to adjust to having caregivers and Dad at home was enough for Ozzy and Suny. Adding new cat to the mix would create a nightmare all at one time. July 12, 2015, I adopted the calico mother (Gypsie) and when i went to pick her up i fell in love with one of her remaining kittens another calico (Poppy).

If i had it to do over again, I would have gotten 2 kittens instead of mom and a kitten. I love Gypsie, but she has been VERY protective of her kitten, even though the kitten is now near 2 years old. Sunny and Ozzy get along with Poppy relatively well. Gypsie and Ozzy (he is clearly the alpha male in the group) can sometimes get along, but Sunny and Gypsie do not get along well most of the time. Gypsie will go into her crying mode to let me know she is being threatened, even if Sunny is just sitting looking at her from a distance. haha.

Yes, you have done the math correctly! I now have 4 cats in the house. Ozzy, Sunny, Gypsie and Poppy.

Dad was able to hold Gypsie a few times and loved watching Poppy (another young kitten) tumble around while playing. The girls were not home long before we found they had an issue with their bowels and bladder. Lots of inappropriate litter box use after they had been doing fine.

Gypsie started first when I noticed mucus and blood in her very loose stool. A vet visit and blood test revealed that she had Giardia. Fortunately she was rather cooperative taking her antibiotics out of a dropper. Not long afterwards, I had to take Poppy to the vet for the same issue. Because the boys could have caught it, i had to treat Sunny and Ozzy with antibiotics as well. After 3 rounds of antibiotics for the girls and about $1000, the antibiotics finally checked the problem, or so i thought. Gypsie had a recurrence a month or 2 later but thankfully have now been free of the parasite now for over 6 months! YEAH!!!!!

During the time of treating the girls, Dad was hospitalized and eventually passed, unable to shake pneumonia. The night Dad passed, all 4 cats were in the room with me while i was sending messages out on my laptop. It is quite interesting, although Gypsie was only here with Dad for about 5 months, it is amazing how often i find her sitting in Dad’s wheelchair that i have yet to sell. I found her recently playing with one of Dad’s aprons that he used to keep from getting food all over himself at meals.

Now when i travel to the vacation home, i have 3 carriers again to take 4 cats (Gypsie and Poppy get along rather well together.) All 4 of the cats enjoy the vacation home since i have a huge screened porch and they love to watch the squirrels and birds. Gypsie, Poppy and Sunny travel very well. During the past 2 years, Ozzy has not been riding as well. He will make himself sick meowing whether it is going to the vet (about 35 minute ride) or the vacation home (about 3.5 hours). I need to check this out with a vet visit, but i get the impression that he is quite irritated that he has to be in the carrier. It could be too, that while Dad was in assisted living and then home, we did not travel to the vacation home as frequently as we did before Dad fell. Maybe he is just “out of practice” too.

Pictures included are a little old as i have not taken new ones recently. --- The website would not allow me to upload pictures. Pictures are too large according to the message.

Ozzy - you will notice easily.
Sunny - tuxedo
Gypsie - faded blue calico
Poppy - calico and smaller than mom

Sorry for the long update!

Notes from Home
Thanks for asking about me. As with my “brother”, I have sooo much to tell you about me. My Meome and Paw had 50 years of experience with Siamese in their home. However, I am sure from what I hear them say about me that I am the most interesting, challenging, nosey, vocal and loving one they have ever had and that’s saying something. My Indy Foster, Mrs. Katie Smith, told my adoptive family I was a true Diva AND I was a leader. Boy was she right. You see, I was being sheltered with Carson, now Chan, who was scared of every noise, shadow and everything else. My adoptive parents wanted to adopt two and were asked if they would consider taking Carson who needed to go into a family that had experience with Siamese. So we were put together at Mrs. Smith’s home for a month so I could teach Carson a few things before going to our forever home. Now that was a challenge. When my adoptive parents came to see us at Mrs. Smith’s home, I could tell my Paw fell in love with me at first sight. Chan was under the bed as usual. However, it was when I was jumping all over the place to show off for him when I finally got close to him and put my paw up on his cheek in a loving movement, that he laughed and said this cat has just chosen me. We stayed in a bedroom at our new home so we could get adjusted to our new environment and because Chan was so scared. Boy was that hard because I could hear things going on outside that room and I wanted to see it all.

When my Paw opened up the door not just to come in often as they both did, but to let us out permanently, I darted out like a shot. You see, my nature then as well as now, is to see everything, know everything, hear everything, run all over the place. Well, you get the picture. Although I am older, things have not changed. I love being on he scene of everything that is happening. I also love to play with Chan, although I am always leading as we race through the house, jump over furniture and up and down the basement stairs. My Paw says I am a racer, but Chan is a loper. I make up my mind instantly to investigate something or seek attention, but Chan often “ponders” the scene before he decides what he wants to do. One thing about Chan, although we are three months apart in age, I think of him as my brother. We have never fought, or been jealous of one another. We often sleep together for hours. I also love it when he gives me face washes.

I have loved my adoptive family from the start, and although I love my Meowme, I am Paw’s girl. I mean I have heard people who come to our home say I stalk, Paw because I just adore him so much. My Meowme speaks to me in loving tones and praises me with love, but Paw, well, I don’t know if it is his soft masculine voice or the way he looks at me, but I just sit back and adore him. Meowme says you can see the love flooding from my huge blue eyes when Paw is around.

I love it when Paw lights a fire in the fireplace. I can sit and enjoy the heat for hours on the ottoman. When he is watching a football game and sitting on the leather sofa, I jump on the place right behind his head and slowly put my paw over the top of his head and with my paw and claws out, I slowly run my paw through his hair from his forehead to the back of his neck just to let him know I am there. He must tell me 50 times a day “You are such a pretty girl”. I never get tired of hearing those words.

Chan does not play much with toys, although he will bat a small mouse around some. However, mice of all sizes are my thing. When I can’t get their attention or during the middle of the night, I stuff usually the largest one in my mouth and carry it around the house letting out strangling “hunting” noises or cries. I almost strangle with the large soft mouse, but I won’t drop it until I find just the right spot. You know, in the middle of the bedroom doorway where they will not fail to notice it, or outside paw’s study even the door is open or on the basement stairs where they have to watch when doing up or down. I am mischievous, but my adoptive parents love me to death.

I do have a few things about my nature that Meowme can’t understand. Although I am a people cat and lover of endless attention, I am not a lap cat. I do not like to be held, but Paw often snatches me up and hugs me to death. I do love that, but he is the only person who can do that. Now Chan loves to be cuddled by Meowme and he loves for Maw to love on him, pet him and talk to him. The other thing I have always done since being in my adoptive home is that when I occasionally jump on Meowme’s legs when she is in her recliner or jump on their bed during the night, I lay down for a few minutes by her legs; however, I do not cuddle or get up by her face. I lay just close enough to her where her hand can barely reach my face and then I let her pet me over and over on my face and ears. If I want to stay longer, I always turn around and face the door with my rear end about a foot away from Meowme’s shoulder or face. I always have to face the door. I have heard my Meowme wonder if that comes from being in a cage in the early stages of my rescue and wanting to be able to see everything that is going on or happening. I am always facing a door.

Although we have a wonderful lady named Cookie who cares for us two times a day when our parents are gone for a few days occasionally, we are so happy to stay in our forever home rather than be boarded. We love to play, sleep in our favorite spots and watch the endless birds, squirrels and chipmunks eating and playing with each other outside the large window where our soft cat bed is on the granite countertop. Last June we really got a treat as Paw put out a Hummingbird feeder on a shepherd hook. Meowme thought it was probably too late in the season, but a few days after it was up, we had a couple of Hummingbirds. Then we had several and one day I heard Paw say Diane we have a flock of Hummingbirds. Boy was the special. They are really fast, but I had my eyes on all of them.

Well, I think that is about all I can tell you about me. I have a wonderful life with parents who just love me to death, are fascinated by my intelligence and the fact I never miss anything new in the house. Meowme loves to decorate for the various seasons and I just love sniffing and touching everything she puts out. Oh yes, when Paw opens up a can of Coke, I race there and he lets me get my nose right up to the open spot. You see I have to listen to the fizz and then I always snap back because the fizz gets in my nose. Paw laughs because he knows what is going to happen, but I can’t help myself.

Thank you for all you did for Carson/Chan and me. We have a truly wonderful life and are surrounded by endless love and affection. I also want to thank you for all you continue to do for other cats, giving them a chance for a wonderful life too. Paw has attached a picture of both Chan and me in our bed. I am on the left. I know he has other pictures of us individually, but he did not have time to look them over and find them on the computer.

Looking for a castle in need of a Princess. I have all of the qualifications: I'm beautiful beyond compare; I hold all other cats in utter disdain; I want lots of attention, but on my terms; and I have the voice of a goddess. What more could you ask for? Please fluff my pillows and we can talk.

My favorite pass time is to be brushed (while being told I'm beautiful, of course), and I even come when you call me more than 50% of the time. I also talk back almost as much as a teenager, but it's much cuter when I do it, trust me.

I have finally decided I can allow the foster mom's dog to continue to exist, mostly because he understands I am the center of the universe, and he gives me my required reverence and 4 feet of personal space at all times.

Notes from Home
BÄ“BÄ“ has become a talkative companion. She is very smart and knows when 6:30AM is every day. She turns on her loud purr and starts her wake up routine to get me out of bed to feed her. She is a good communicator and has a story to tell me everyday when I arrive home from work. She continues to watch the birds on the balcony at the bird feeders and lets them know when they should move on by jumping up on the glass with her whole body. She is very athletic and I can see how young she is by her ability to play for long stretches. The laser light, scratching pad and her climbing tree are her favorites. She shows a lot of "attitude" at the vet's office and it is hard to explain that her true nature is much sweeter. I have to restrict her calories and portion out her food as she will eat what ever is in her bowl. She tolerates visits from my daughter's dog but always shows her who is the boss with a swat across the nose. She is very sociable with human visitors but still doesn't like to be held. She sleeps next to me in bed and sits next to me on the couch. I keep a brush in every room so she gets brushed frequently.

BÄ“BÄ“ continues to settle in. She plays more than any cat I've ever had. She is a good companion and is getting more and more affectionate. Not quite a lap kitty, but she does let me hold her now. BÄ“BÄ“ enjoys watching the bird feeder on the balcony and the commuters run for the train across the street. She is social with my adult daughters when they visit but will hide when my 18 month granddaughter visits.

BÄ“BÄ“ has definitely become a companion kitty. She follows me from room to room and usually comes to sit next to me. I had my grand daughter for an overnight and BÄ“BÄ“ was very calm and allowed her to pet her. Previously she hid from any guests in the house. She loves to look at the birds on the balcony feeder and sits by the screen and open windows now that winter is finally moving away.

8/22/2016 BeBe had her first canine visitor and she was quite calm. She hissed and swatted a few times but kept moving to be in the same room with my daughter and her newly adopted 2 year old terrier. She definitely held court and the dog had no problem understanding who was the boss. She continues to be a nice companion. She is very clean, sleeps with me and asks for head rubs throughout the night. She has her moments of real safari by hunting the cat nip mice throughout the house. She has a basket of toys and rotates them regularly.

3/31/2018 Bebe is a lovely companion. I have stopped working and I am home more. She sits next to me but still doesn't like to be held. She is very smart cat. We have worked on her weight and she lost a pound due to the strict diet of one half cup of dry food. She has become very aggressive at the vet's office. She is still a young cat, playful and interested in the outside.I love her.

Ricky and Lucy here at last! I'm the confident one, and Lucy is on the shy side, especially with new people in new places. Since she counts on me to feel safe, we go home together only. So if you're looking for a ready-made fabulous pair of adorableness, look no further because you've found us!

Mattie and Rilla have settled in and taken over! They love running around the house and get into anything. They have explored every closet, cubby, nook and cranny in the house, and have only snuck into in a closets a few times without anyone knowing. They took a nice nap until we figured out where they were. They have truly brought some life into the house and their antics keep us laughing.

PHIL
Love me love me love me love me love me DO NOT stop love me love me love me (what? You have to leave? Nip nip swat swat) love me love me love me love me more....

I'm a very chatty guy who grew up in a cage and then a shed, and it's taking me some time to realize that someone will always be there for me. I talk a lot as I'm pretty concerned about what's going on, and I am overly anxious (can you say desperate) for your attention. I do great a lot of the time, but other times I just can't let it go.... So I'm going to need a special owner who understands that I need some time to settle in, a loving but firm hand, and probably a time out every once in awhile!

Notes from Home
It's been a year since Phil's been here. He is quiet, calm, extrordinarily sociable. He is supremely confident. He sits with the big dogs, he grooms them and permits them to groom him. Our female Traditional seal point has accepted him, and they sit together, play together, and they do not fight. He vocalizes when he wants something, but is quiet otherwise. What a positive change for this beautiful and affectionate fellow. A strong personality, ever present, not a bully at all. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to welcome this lovely boy, and to see him through.

March 2016, two years, and Phil has settled nicely into the family. What a big change he has undergone since first he arrived here. He no longer bites. He does not yowl. He remains an intense but quiet fellow, most gregarious, continuously interactive. He vocalizes a great deal, in quiet tones, and seems to have opinions on everything. His favorite toy is "Da Bird", a feathery wand toy. He "kills" that bird repeatedly and never tires of chasing it.

Phil and our two Rottweilers have become a team. He even mimics their positions when they are in the same room. Phil has developed a tolerable relationship with our older Traditional Siamese Seal Point girl. Even though they run and play together, she is clearly in charge. She is about half his size, and dainty, but she is the boss cat.

Phil displays anxiety when a person is behind a closed door, and when he is behind a closed door, for instance, when being fed. Phil is anxious when a person leaves the room, and runs to be with them. When I leave the house, Phil spends time sitting with the dogs or with our female cat, Lily. He is calm when I return home. Phil now sleeps on the bed with us, frequently at the foot, and sometimes between us or in my arms. He wakes us early, first purring, then tapping us, then talking loudly. Phil likes to be held after he eats. He always seeks the available lap, and travels from lap to lap, always being happily accepted. Phil enjoys riding on shoulders. He holds on tight, and purrs.

Phil enjoys breakfast time with Mel. When I play guitar, no matter what I am playing, Phil sits on the couch with me and puts his head on my other knee. Lily sits on the back of the couch. The dogs lie on the floor nearby. It is a peaceful kingdom. Thank you again for rescuing Phil, nursing him back to health, and for making him available to us.

2018
Hey,

It's Phil, Phil I Will, King of the Hill, Mr. Opportunity, but Punxysutawney Phil to you, buddy.

Yes, I do love to eat. Kibble, of course, I also have breakfast with Dad, salmon or tuna and yogurt. After I eat I like a belly rub and I want to be picked up and carried around. I will use my soft paws on you. Then put me back on the floor. I love to chase and catch and chew my Da Bird wand toy. Every day I chase and catch and chew that thing. I have had a few Birds toys. I chew them up, but a new one always ends up on the end of that wand toy. I sleep on the big bed. First at my People's feet, but I always end up in Mom's arms. I purr. I chortle.

And I have very important routines. They give me security. If the routines are changed I become anxious, I talk a lot and sometimes yowl. I am always alert, interested in what is going on, and interactive with everyone, people, dogs, the female cat. I do new things all the time. If a new person comes to the house, I check 'em out at a distance. If they are worth my time, I will announce myself, present myself and interact. If they are not worth my time, I will not even come into the room. Let the dog interact.

I abhor the closed door. No door can ever be closed, I must have access to every room at all times. I accompany my people to the bathroom and they close the door - but they are in there with me, so it is OK. I will work the door handle or yowl to be let out.

The People feed us cats separately because I gobble my food down and then I will want to take Lilly's food. So they feed us in separate rooms. I yowl to come out of the room when I am done eating and then I yowl at Lilly's door so I can get at her food. Then I sit quietly, waiting for her to finish her food and the People will open her door. Lilly is a normal eater, not like me.

I wake my People in the morning. I put my face next to their faces and purr loudly. They open their eyes and look into my eyes and wake up. If they don't get up right away, no more Mr. Nice Cat, I will stomp on their stomachs. Then they will get up!

I comment on everything, I have a lot to say. I talk to the big girl Rottie. I make my sounds and I sit with her. We do body language. I don't let Mom out of my sight. When she plays guitar, I sit on the guitar case. No one but Dad can sit in Dad's chair. Better not! I greet Dad when he comes home. Both of us cats watch TV with Dad. I see lots of little animals running across the screen., I alert to them, I would like to chase and catch and chew them.

Sometimes I see a small bug in the house. Lilly and I hunt together at night.

When my People make the bed, I take a flying leap on the covers and make a big dent in the pillows. Thusly do I put my mark of ownership upon the bed. I am a dominant male cat, but I am not dominant to anyone in this house. I do my best, I understand the hierarchy here, and my place in it.

My best buddy in this house, the kind, big male Rottie who always sat quietly with me, died suddenly in mid-December. I sit on or near his crate sometimes. I wanted to be the Chief Animal when he died, but no, the girl Rottie became Chief Animal. The Seal Point girl, Lilly, is still the Chief Cat. I make a lot of conversation but I am still not the boss. I understand that a puppy will arrive in the family soon. I don't know what a puppy is, but one will come here. What am I supposed to do about that? Stay tuned for further adventures.

MOCHA
What a life! Compared to what I had this is most wonderful. I can't get over having good food and lots of love and affection. I thought living a cats life meant unkind words and no love. I won't tell foster mom about other things that happened to me but she has heard a little about it. I love Avia and she loves me so we would like to stay together please. Foster mom says our life from now on will be much better than it ever has been.

Notes from Home
What a lover boy. Mocha has settled in and taken possession of "his" house and "his" people. He spends most of his time on the patio surveying the yard and monitoring the goings on of the squirrels and the birds. He doesn't wait for an invitation to a cozy lap, he just jumps right up. We never know where we're going to find him, he loves to get into cabinets and closets or high places like the top of the kitchen cabinets and watch us from above. He knows when it's bedtime and recently beats me to the bedroom and calls me to bed! We have to pick him up to make room for us in the bed because once he gets comfortable, he's NOT moving! We are so happy with Mocha.

March 29,2012. Mocha has been with us a year today. It has taken him almost this whole year to truly believe that this is his forever home. Only the past few weeks does he not run from my husband when he tries to pick him up. He remembers him putting him in the cat carrier shortly after arriving here to take him to the vet, but Mocha thought he was moving on once again! He still doesn't go near the closet that holds the cat carrier! Last fall I felt like Mocha was lonely for feline company since he was used to being with other cats, and we found the perfect match for him. We rescued a 1and 1/2 yr old female meezer named Lola, and Mocha just loves her! They play and wrestle and Mocha squeals like a girl!!!!! He's a riot! They chase each other through the house, and they sit together on the patio watching the birds and squirrels. I bought them a cat tree and they spend a lot of time watching the goings on around here from their perches. When we first got Mocha he had a faint purr and I thought that was just how he purred, But as time goes on, his purr has gotten louder and louder and now he has a good loud purr. I think that in the back of his mind he still can't believe that he really is home forever!!!! He loves to be petted and combed and sits on our laps. He sleeps with us, and every evening he demands his Purina Party Treats which I feed him one at a time by hand. He takes them from me ever so gently! Mocha is such a happy, playful, loving, gentle cat......we are so blessed to have him. If I can figure out how to post pix, I will, but I am not savvy in that department.

March 30/2015 I have been in my forever home for 4 years now, and loving every minute. I have so much fun, especially with mom. I make her play with me all the time. I just love when she plays with the wand with the mouse on the end. Mom says I'm as playful as a kitten! I sure love my family. And all the nurses who work here. And my cat sister Lola. But most of all I just LOVE my Mom. I'm never far from her because I watch her every move, lol. She says I act like a puppy dog, the way I follow her everywhere. She snuggles me and calls me her nice fluffy pussycat. And I talk to her and she understands me! I just wish that she NEVER had to leave the house because I miss her and can't wait for her to come home. I'm always there to greet her at the door. I am healthy and strong and very lively because they take such good care of me. I am blessed!!!
March 29, 2018 : Well my poor little Mocha had a hard year but has finally turned that corner and is regaining weight. He had a serious bout of pancreatitis for which he had to be hospitalized and then he received B12 shots for months. Then he had to have two teeth pulled...a fang and a molar which put him in the hospital again. He's had to adjust to eating with 2 less teeth. After healing from that, he continued to lose weight and have watery stools. He was then diagnosed with inflammatory bowel. After steroid treatment and ongoing probiotics he has finally started to gain weight! Through it all he has been a trooper. He is joined at my hip more than ever! I should have named him Velcro, lol. He rarely leaves my side day or night. Still the sweetest boy you could ever meet. He loves to snuggle on my shoulder and under my neck. His favorite toy is his yellow banana. He is just adorable. We are soooo happy we adopted this special little guy. I will try to upload pictures but I failed at that once before. Thank you to everyone at Siamese Rescue for enabling us to adopt Mocha. I can't imagine life without him!

Oliver is delightful and such a love bug. Stella is sweet and playful. They are definitely bonded. She cries if Oliver is not around and he will come to her. It’s lovely to see them cuddled together or talking to one another. I am very happy that we kept them together.

Oliver and Stella are looking forward to Spring weather and more porch time. They love exploring and playing with their toys. Very sweet personalities developing. I love to hear them talking to each other or their toys!

Sam (Sasha) is doing great! She is very happy with her adopted brothers, Bubba (same age) and Otis, 10. They play all the time and eat like pigs. She is definitely the leader! I wanted to thank all of you for taking such good care of her and trusting her to me. Especially thanks to Melanie for fostering her, Emily for helping me with the adoption and the Meezer express for bringing her here. Thanks so much and when I can, I will send some pictures.
