MIA
Don't know why Foster Mom calls me Evie Knievel? could be I can dash out of the foster room faster than any of my sisters. OR because I can Climb the highest double yes even Triple baby gates to escape the foster room. I only want to climb out so that I can be with Foster Mom and give her kisses and kisses. I can climb foster Mom t leg and robe o get to a shoulder to give her BIG kisses. I Love to fall asleep on her shoulder. I also LOVE LOVE Laps. So if you LOVE smart, athletic, and most of all A love bug ask about me. Foster Mom said I am suppose to tell you that I can jump on the counter in one leap but that is only so I can give kisses. P.S I do have a bit of a delicate tummy but I am purrfect in the litter box. So if you want Really Active kitten that can JUMP high be sure to ask about me.

Mia (Evie) has been settling in pretty well. She loves hiding her spring toys all around the house and is warming up to our other, more rambunctious kitten. She is a sweetheart whenever we have company over, too!

PONGO
Nothing a little love (and dental attention) won't fix! Misplaced by Hurricane Sandy, I'm one in a million (okay really one of two) that are in the program, and I'm just a gem!

Pongo's new name is Panihaka (Hawaiian for Successor). Panihaka's stomatitis was extensive to include bone loss in the front of the mouth so all of his teeth (including the canines) were removed last week at "The Life Center" in Leesburg, VA. Panihaka is still having a lot of snot issues but we are hoping that they will decrease now that he has less bacteria in his mouth. He is currently on antibiotics (clavimox) and pain killers (today is the last day for the pain killers). He is actually feeling much better now that his teeth have been removed. He can really get a ping pong ball moving in the middle of the night on the hardwood floors. :) We had been hoping that Panihaka would get Torin to start playing again but it turns out that Torin has developed heart problems and shouldn't be playing much anymore. So we are playing with him instead. With all the medications and surgery he is still a little wary of us but he is doing quite well and loves to be scratched of the head and now even the chin.
4/17/17 - Panihaka is a very happy cat but he still has litter box issues. We can not figure out why he insists on using the bathtub rather than a litter box. We have tried many different shaped boxes and many different litters but he still prefers the bathtub. If the tub is occupied, he will use a puppy pad that we placed in the corner of our bedroom after he piddled there once.
Many other things have happened to Panihaka in the last four years. He has befriended several cats in our household and has walked each of them lovingly to the rainbow bridge (Kokoleka, Kalima, Torin and Akoni). After four years of walking cats to the rainbow bridge he has finally decided that people are OK. So now he finally sits in my lap with Nikolaka and they groom each other constantly.

April 2018 - Panihaka has been with us for 5 years now. He gets along well with the other cats. He still has snot issues but I don't think that will ever go away. He also still prefers the bathtub over a litterbox but if he has to have bad litterbox habits the bathtub is preferable to most other areas of the house. This year he has decided to become a lap cat. I am curious if that will continue once the weather warms up. All in all everything is good.

NALA
Sweet, loving and playful, that's me! I'm basically a kitten without the terrors. I have perfect litter box and scratching post manners. I'm a tad shy with new people and new places, so I would do best in a quiet home where I can blossom. While I'm not a lap cat, and I don't like being held, I'll be your best buddy on the couch - pressing right up against you seeking lots of petting. Ask about me today!

Nala has quickly become one of the family. Her integration with our dogs went much better than we could have ever hoped. They spend time together and Nala has been very friendly - if not exactly a lap cat. We lover her. <3

PAULINA
Hi Everyone! I'm settled in here in my foster home. The accommodations are pretty good but what I really want is a home of my own. I'm not so sure I like other cats but the jury is still out on that. I do like to cuddle. Foster Mom says I'm a reserved gal for my age. I think she means I don't act like a crazy kitten like one of my room mates does. I do have a bit of the sniffles so it will be several more days before Foster Mom can see how I am with other cats. If you think I might be the gal for you, please ask about me and Foster Mom will tell you more about me.

Love,
Paulina

Notes from Home
04/16/18: Paulina has been with us 8 years and she continues to add love and happiness to our lives. We welcomed our son, Lucas, to the family in January 2017 and Paulina has been a wonderful big sister. She is friendly with Lucas, rubbing against him and letting him chase after her. She continues to like her privacy and independence, laying in sun patches and curling up in her cat bed. Although she is aging, she continues to have strong health. We love her! Thank you again for saving her and giving her to us.

3/31/15: We've had Paulina in the family for 5 years now and she still brings such joy to us. She is healthy, loving and playful. We're consistently complimented on her bright blue eyes and gorgeous thick coat. We think she's siamese and blue point russian. A true beaut! We moved from DC to Boston and although she hated the 10.5 hour car ride, she loves her new home with all the natural light, big window sills to lay on and lots of birds to watch. We remain grateful to the Siamese Rescue Center for saving her and introducing us. Thank you everyone!

4/4/14: wow! Four years with Paulina has flown by. She's healthy, happy and still a joy to have in our family. After careful consideration, we decided to adopt a second cat, Harry, who joined the family two years ago. He and Paulina are great siblings! They chase each other, play together, cause tons of mischief, and are great pals. It took our princess some adjusting, but ultimately she's happier for having a partner in crime. We've been lucky to not have any health issues and are still so grateful to the rescue center for your help in saving this amazing baby girl and letting us adopt her. Cheers to you all!

3/29/11: It's been a year since we adopted Paulina which is such a short time since it feels like she's been in our family forever. She is too much fun to come home to! She has added so much value to our family. With no health issues (she had her physical last week), a healthy appetite, and a penchant for fun, we expect to celebrate many many many more anniversaries!! She loves to be groomed (a true princess), chase her toy mice, and scratch her pole (we need to buy a new one because the core is coming out!). Thank you to all of the volunteers and employees of the Rescue who take care of these beautiful cats--we owe you! Until next time... meow.

09/29/10: 6 months has passed and Paulina is an integral member of our family. We enjoy coming home to her on the weekdays and love spending time at home with her over the weekend. Our routine is great--come home, purr like crazy for 20 minutes, play, eat, play, lay, play, and off to bed! Then we get the lovely 5am to 6am wake up call "is it time to play yet!?" Just this morning, she purred for a good 10 minutes and butted her head between me and my husband to get some love. She has grown to 9 pounds, her fur is a bit darker, and her meows are louder! We love that she's vocal!! She still has her diva tendencies. If we come home and don't immediately drop everything to pet her, she shows her dissatisfacton by being naughty (climbing on the countertops--the one surface she's not allowed on). Training her has been easy. She's well behaved and reacts well to a squirt bottle with water. She eats, uses the litter box, doesn't scratch the couch and loves treats. She's been super healthy and very active. Thank you so much again for assisting us with this match. We love Paulina deeply and owe Beth, Kathy and the other volunteers a HUGe thanks!!!
Purrs & Kisses,
Rebecca, Adam & Paulina Wright

04/29/10: Just wanted to let you know how fantastic Paulina is doing. She is such a joy to come home to everyday. She's really settled in and has her favorite spots in the house including our bedroom window sill, the rug in front of the balcony door, and the top of the couch (always one cushion away from us). She loves affection but also likes her own space. She's not a huge fan of being held but she's also very patient and docile so when we pick her up she just kind of looks at us saying "you can put me down anytime..." But she can't help but smile when we give her a belly rub or a chin rub while holding her.

She sleeps in our bed at night but stays at the bottom of our feet until around 5am when she decides we should be playing with her. I don't mind be woken up by a purring and padding cat though--she starts the day off showing us lots of love! Paulina is doing fantastic and she's very grateful to you all for saving her life and placing her with a great family.

First Entry:
Paulina is doing fantastic! She is so affectionate and sweet. She's been eating, drinking, using the litter box and most important, playing! She has so much energy and love to share. She's also extremely well-behaved. She comes when we call her and hasn't scratched any of the furniture! We are so thankful to Siamese Rescue and for all of the folks involved in keeping her safe and loved. Beth, Kathy and all of the folks at Siamese Rescue were incredibly helpful and caring. These cats are lucky to fall in their hands! We just hope more and more people continue to adopt from the rescue and bring these beautiful, special creatures to their home. We are now a family of 3, and very happy.

Best,
Rebecca, Adam, and Paulina

COCO
I have been through the ringer, quite a lot of prize fights in my past, then got a great home only to lose it again. If you could understand a cat who is a little beat up with a little baggage, but a diamond underneath, maybe I'm the one for you. I don't see well out of my left side, so that makes me suspicious of hands. I'm okay with other cats but don't want them to bother me and I won't bother them. Overall I'm a pretty easy keeper, very good in all my habits. I'd love a home where I just got a little attention, doesn't need to be much, and one that's okay with not picking me up and understands slow, gentle movements. I make small sweet chirps from time to time and am hopeful, after years of being beat up on the streets, I can retire in luxury.

Notes from Home
Coco is still in the house with us. She and Vivian (aka Raven) hang out together all day and stroll around the house at night. They love the 3rd bedroom and sleep in their beds on chairs in front of the window. They love the sun. Liam, our huge ragdoll, hangs with them sleeping on the daybed with his head on the pillow. It is so cute. Coco loves my husband and is afraid of me. He wraps her in a receiving blanket and carries her around, sits with her in his lap, etc. She seems to like this but she has not yet purred. If i try to touch her she jumps like she's been hit. I think a woman abused her and she does not like women.

Medically she is good. She got her last asthma shot on March 21st. We, Dr Turner and I, think every 2 months is the right timing. When I take her to the vet she lets me hold her. She is still frumpy and does like to be brushed. She is what I would call a project cat. We are happy with her being ours.

RIPLEY
Gorgeous seal point Balinese! Healthy, bright eyed young Meezer with a soft, flowing coat and charming purrsonality.

A little shy at first, he quickly warms to people and enjoys being petted and brushed. Gentle and polite, he is tidy with his litter box and uses it 100%.

Good with other cats. Moderately vocal with chirps and trills and a delightful, rumbling purr.

Seriously nice boy who will do well in almost any home - very young children might take advantage of his gentle nature. Will need at least one other friendly, non-dominant cat in the home as a playmate and companion.

Ask about Ripley soon.....a cat this fabulous won't stay available long :)

Teddy is the sweetest boy ever. He might be part Ragdoll as he has some Ragdoll traits. He’s an affectionate lap cat and very talkative in his little chirpy voice. He’s a big fluffy boy and super cuddly.

It feels much longer than 2 weeks that Danica, now Sage, has been in our lives. She is the most darling kitty and we absolutely adore her. She's Super sweet and playful; also very bright and inquisitive!
We aren't having any problems with behavior or adaptation to our house. She had some tummy issues at first which she'd had with the foster but a food change has helped tremendously and the vet says she's doing wonderful. We are so thankful for our new baby and the wonderful volunteers at SCRC!!!

LINCOLN
A very outgoing guy (who would like to be going out) I need a home where there's some action and energy and a tight front door! I was a stray picked up (no microchip, silly owners, I have one now) and in a few days I'll give you the run down as to how I do with other cats! I am quite the drooler when I purr and purr and sit on your lap! I do need to stay close to VA / MD area as I'm not a great traveler!

April 12, 2018

Lincoln is doing very, very well!... He is full of energy and affection, and he loves to be with us. Every night he sleeps in our bed. Whenever we watch TV together or when we listen to music he is nearly always there, within a foot or two. He loves rock ‘n roll instrumental music! (especially uptempo beats)....

We play with him for long sessions a couple of times per day, which is a lot of fun. He is a loving, smart cat, and likes to talk…. In the first few weeks we had him, he had a tendency to eat a bit too much, so we requested a calorie counter from the vet and now he eating the normal amount for his size....

We are so happy to have him, we love him dearly, and look forward to a long life together!

Brett and Laurie

March 25, 2018:

We are so happy to have welcomed Lincoln into our family. He settled in almost immediately and we adore him!

He is very loving, and loves to be next to us. He is healthy and has learned to play with us inside and outside of his "Lincoln Tunnel" with feather wands and fishing poll toys. He is an excellent "hunter" of all of his toys.

His desire to go outside is gone, but he loves to sit by the window and watch the birds that come to eat what we leave out for them.

He is a good boy.
We love him.

Brett (and Laurie)

TYSON
Tyson is moving around a lot more. He started playing with the turbo scratcher and then we put some catnip on it and he just loved that. He rolled on it and he pushed the ball around. He really enjoyed his play time.
Tyson needs to lose more weight and he needs an adopter who will continue to read labels and feed him low calorie food. The Cosequin appears to be what is making him move easier. H e is a very sweet cat and He has a a lot of time to make someone happy. He isn't a lap cat because he is too large but he wants to be near us.

Tyson has decided that laps are pretty good. He loves to be with us and he is such a sweet boy. He is looking forward to finding his forever home.

Notes from Home
Dear Siamese Cat Rescue Center,

Today is a good day. I woke up in bed with my furrever family and got to reflect on all that has happened in the last year. I've had some really bad anxiety in the past, and would wake up at night and roam the house and cry. I didn't mean to wake up the humans- but I know it happened!. I've been very food motivated and it's admit it has been hard to lose weight. I'm happy to say that I'm down 3 more pounds this year (still hovering around 18.5-19lbs), but have been so much more active. Everyone in the family has been! My mom and dad have lost a combined weight of 110lbs! Mom lost 60 pounds and dad lost the rest. We are a good looking gang!

My family moved into a bigger home, with stairs, and I enjoy spending my days following the sun from the windows in the east to the windows in the west. In October, my family got a surprise for me! They adopted a tiny, sick kitten who was 4.5 weeks old. They named her Tallulah the Beluga- because I'm Tyson the Bison- in the hopes that she'd grow big and strong. I curiously watched them bottle feed her for weeks before she and I finally met. At first I wasn't so sure, but all of the sudden she became my best friend. I don't cry in the middle of the night anymore, and I keep Tallulah by my paw at all times. She's VERY active because she's still a baby, so we play tag up and down the stairs, cuddle together, and play with our toys. I used to not like toys at all before she came into the house! I still get sad and anxious when Tallulah leaves for the night, like when she left to get spayed, but every day we have great adventures together. I no longer get car sick in the car, and I think it's because Tallulah really calms me down. Mom and dad are teaching her how to walk on a leash like me so we can all go to the park together! I'm excited!

Thank you so much again for making sure I got to the right family!

Love you lots!
Tyson

-------------------------

Dear Siamese Cat Rescue,
I have been with my furrever family for almost three years now. We have some really exciting news! We're moving! My purrents have been very busy, and mom is completing her Masters and Dad just got a new job! We're a little sad to leave this nice house, but very excited for the future! I've met my new vet and she's very nice, and took very good care of me. She even gave me a kiss before I got my vaccines for this year! Tallulah, my cat sister, is all grown up now and we play all the time. My favorite games right now are tag and stealing a ball from each other. She's full of energy and keeps me busy! I will show her that it's okay to move, and be a good role model. Plus! All the boxes will be so much fun for us to play hide and seek in!

Thank you again for finding my family-

Just thought I would give you an update on Ish (Achilles). He’s doing really well and has so much more confidence now. Hes realizing this is his house and he’s happy to run around and make himself comfortable everywhere! He Loves to play all the time and is always by my side and loves to follow me around. He sleeps on the bed when not playing and loves to watch the squirrels from the window. He still loves his food!! He sits on the patio with me and soaks up the sun.
As they say I needed him as much as he may have needed me!
Much love
