TWINKIE
Little bitty gal, I did little but purr when I got here, and am looking forward to lots of good things! I'm nervous at first and learning about playing, I like to lap sit for a short time, but I'm a bit inexperienced with lots of attention, so while I like it, you have to show me! I LOVE to play and that crinkle tunnel? Well that's the BOMB!!!! I think I'd love someone to play with, any cute young men out there?

Teqa continues to be a perfect kitty! She and Sam are now best buds and they can usually be found curled up on the bed together, which is the only time she slows down enough for me to get a picture. We have dubbed her "the princess" as she is just so darn adorable!

MISTY
I'm finally on the mend and ready to find my furrever home. I am slightly shy at first, but if you come to me I will love it and will snuggle and purr. I'm a lovely lynx girl with the softest fur and oh so hopeful eyes.

I have found my best friend here at Meowmy's house and I want to go home with Loren, (VA10940). So if you ask about me you will be asking about him as well. We are a pair.

Misty

Notes from Home
Misty was very shy when we got her. We have been working with her to get her to be less timid but she does run away and prefers quiet surroundings. She does not like loud noises which startle her. She gets along well with Hershey. Misty is adjusting well and is starting to come around. She can be very friendly and lovable once you start scratching her head and patting her back or brushing her. She playfully nips at your hand or arm and nibbles on you. She is not running away from us as much and is getting used to interacting with us. Misty and Hershey fight from time to time, but they also play well together. Hershey wrestles with Misty a lot, but most of the Misty wins and knocks Hershey off of her. Misty loves to sleep in our cat tower. Misty is very lovable and we are thankful we adopted her with Hershey.

It is hard to believe that it has been a year since we had Misty. She has grown up. She was bigger than Hershey when we got her. Hershey is definitely bigger than her now. Both Misty and Hershey eat very well and love Fancy Feast, cat treats and are pampered by all of us. Our daughters adore them. We were just away on vacation for 2 weeks and had a pet sitter care for them who took excellent care of them in our home while we were away. The cats did miss us very much and were so glad when we came home on 8/27. Misty is a good girl and she rarely gets into trouble and loves to be brushed. Misty is no longer shy and is very friendly and outgoing and no longer hides on the kitchen chair for safety. She often sleeps on our bed and looks for our company. She gets along well with Hershey. They have been to our vet, Banfield Pet Hospital numerous times and were last seen in 7/16 for some shots. Hershey is much better in the car when going to the vet. he is very quiet and he is usually the vocal one. Misty meows a few times but is generally calm as well. She does not like going in the cat carrier and we have to sneak up on her to get her in the carrier now. They are both healthy with no medical problems. They are due to be seen again in 10/16 for a full regular checkup. The vet says that both Hershey and Misty look great. Both cats are active and play regularly and they fight occasionally. I am uploading some current pictures of both of them. We are so glad that we adopted them from Siamese rescue and would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks to our interviewer Alexis for helping us with the adoption and our adoptive pet parent.

We also want to thank all the volunteer drivers and coordinators who helped transport both Hershey (Loren) and Misty to us from Williamsburg, VA.

Loren was a very active little kitten who we renamed Hershey. He is lovable, very affectionate and gets into everything. He opens cabinet doors in our kitchen and has scaled the pet gates and gotten past them. Both Hershey and Misty were confined to our living room and kitchen area and part of the laundry room where the litter boxes were located. Hershey and Misty have adjusted very well to their new home. Hershey is very outgoing and purrs even in his sleep. He is a great cat and we love him very much. I uploaded some pictures of him and Misty. Hershey is getting bigger. Hershey has a great appetite as well.

It is hard to believe that it has been a year since we had Hershey. He has grown up and is a big boy now. He gets into a little trouble though from time to time but does things that make us all laugh. He thinks he is a dog and chews on our shoes , belts and school bag straps, but is very lovable, friendly and outgoing and keeps us on our toes. He gets along well with Misty. They have been to our vet, Banfield Pet Hospital numerous times and were last seen in 7/16 for some shots. They are both healthy with no medical problems. They are due to be seen again in 10/16 for a full regular checkup. The vet says that both Hershey and Misty look great. Both cats are active and play regularly and they fight occasionally. CHARLOTTE
Hi, I'm Charlotte! No I'm not a spider who writes stuff in webs! I'm glad to be out of the shelter. That was a scary place and little chilly. I'm in a nice comfortable playpen now, in a cozy room. I have a soft, fluffy round bed that I really like to make biscuits in. I actually like to make biscuits everywhere.
My new Meom is still getting to know me. I like when she picks me up and cuddles me. It's very comforting. I haven't felt like playing yet. I have to decide which toys I like best. There's lots to choose from.
So check back soon when Meom ads more news about me.
7/4/13
Happy Fourth of July!! I'm really enjoying this new Meezer hotel. There's some toys here for recreation and the menu is yummy. I'm a prefer fish dishes and the choices here are superb! There's plenty of time to socialize and that's my favorite thing.
Meom says she's going to find the hotel of a lifetime for me, a place where I can interact with my people pals. I love to meet new people. Yes, I'm just a bit cautious at first but I am quick to trust. Maybe you have a kitty friend for me to meet. I think I'd like to have someone to cuddle up with.
So hurry and ask about me. Meom says someone is going to love me to pieces. I'm looking forward to meeting you.
7/8/13
Now come on people, I'm rearing to go! I can't wait to move into your house. Do you have a friend for me to play with? Let's get with the program. I'm a purr machine. I love to make biscuits. I love a good petting session and an extended play session. I like feather toys and jingle balls. Do you have some of those things at your house? I'm just so looking forward to the fun we're going to have.
There is one little thing Meom says I have to get done first and that is be spayed. I don't know what she's talking about but I'm sure I'll be back in form really quick.
So get on the ball and send Meom an email! I'm waiting!
Yours purringly, Charlotte
Notes from Home
Charlotte is doing very well here. She was so scared her first few days here, I was afraid she would not bond with me. But this morning we crossed what I think of as her last hurdle and I woke up to find her in bed with me. I recently had two female cats die within weeks of each other (one was 18 and the other was found to have cancer) and was left with a lonely 6 six year old ragdoll mix who was lost without his companions. I knew I needed to get him a buddy, and that was my main criteria for selecting a cat. Several days after I had her, she escaped from her isolation room (think I did not pull the door all the way closed before going out) and I came home to find both cats sitting in my front window together. After I calmed down and was able to return her to her room, I thought well, the finding my boy a buddy part could not be going any better.

They are truly pals, and because she has unlimited energy his life has turned upside down. He was used to a lazy life with two older cats, but those days are over for now. They are chasing each other, wrestling, investigating items that could potentially become toys and having quite moments of rubbing heads and grooming each other. It is so sweet, and I cannot wait until I can post photos of my 16 pound chunky ragdoll and 7 pound petite tortie together but so far I have not gotten any good ones. I have to thank Peggy and Carol for thinking Charlotte would be the perfect buddy for Casper.

She is really sweet and affectionate to me also when she stops to rest. I am sure as she gets older she will have more quiet moments of wanting some lap time. Now it like a pit shop at a car race, a few seconds to get her ears rubbed, then full speed ahead again. But she is loving and entertaining and Casper loves her, so I could not have asked for more. Hopefully I will have photos up soon.

Charlotte is definitely feeling right at home here, and as you can see my formerly lonely boy Casper is smitten. She is a really sweet, loving cat with a ton of energy. But as the pictures show, she does like some down time for bonding with Casper and me. He tries to play with her sometimes, and it is pretty funny, because she is graceful and agile and he is quite the opposite. After our pretty stressful first week when she was terrified, escaped into my basement and I thought she would never bond with me, it makes me so happy to see her content here and I think she knows she has finally settled in for good. I think I can speak for Casper when I say I am really glad we chose her. And I am not jealous that I think she likes him more than me!

ONE YEAR UPDATE - Charlotte has settled in nicely. She is mellowing a little as time goes by, which her lazy buddy Casper is appreciating greatly. Now grooming sessions most often consist of snuggling, grooming and napping, and only occasionally end in a wrestling match. She is still obsessed with toys - I found a good deal online for a dozen foam soccer balls and when they arrived I gave her two. However, I left the bag where she could find it, and came home from work to find only two balls left in the bag. and there are now balls in every room of the house, and every now and then one of them goes bouncing off the walls or rolling under my feet. She wore out a Cat's Meow in only a month, and removed all the feathers from its replacement in less than a week. She is very upset when it needs new batteries and the wand is barely moving and supervises me changing the batteries - and there is no doubt she can't understand how it can take so long.

She is slowly getting more affectionate. She frequently gets on the couch to head butt me, and demands belly rubs as soon as I get up in the morning. She is still not patient enough to be a lap cat, but maybe someday. I am still amazed at how much she loves Casper and it makes me so happy to see them hanging out together.

18 MONTH UPDATE - Char has turned into the perfect loving cat. Tonight she was on my lap head butting and kneading and preventing me from finishing some paperwork. I said - stop being so lovable! - and I had to remember back to the early days when she was terrified of me, and I thought we would never bond. Those days are long behind us. I was grateful for small steps like not hiding for a half hour when I came home, asking to be picked up even for a short time, a few minutes of downtime next to me on the couch. Never would I have thought I would ever tell her she was too lovable. As you can see from the photos, she still loves Casper just as much as ever. I did worry for a while that she was ignoring him in favor of me, but they are still best buds. She is still the most active cat I have ever seen when she is not seeking attention from one of us. She is definitely very happy here.

2 YEAR .UPDATE: Char continues to be very happy with her buddy Casper. She still is a bundle of energy, but is maturing into a very loving girl. She is usually waiting on my bed at bedtime and demands that she gets a massage session before I even think of turning out the lights. She likes to sit on the back of the couch and head butt me. Both of these behaviors are pretty new, and I think she is on her way to behaving like she knows she has a royal namesake to emulate. If her coloring wasn't so unique I would not think she is the same cat I adopted 2 years ago. It has been very rewarding to watch her blossom.

3 YEAR UPDATE - Nothing much has changed in our lives. She is settling down and likes to sit next to me when I am watching TV or reading. She is an occassional lap sitter, but most often just likes to sit next to me. If I ignore her she will meow, then head butt and eventually give a love bite until she gets enough attention. I used to be jealous because when she would cuddle up to her brother Casper she always plopped down next to him and then wiggled her body until she was as close as possible, but now she does that with me too. I have reached the pinnacle of acceptance.

She is still extremely agile - I had a spider web with a spider in my kitchen skylight for a few days and she would be up on top of the cabinets in seconds. She would sometimes jump down directly to the tile floor and I would cringe, but she survived unscathed. Fortunately the spider only stayed a few days and she has had no reason to go back up that high anymore.. I think she is very happy and her and Casper are still best buds.

Very playful girl who is full of mischief. Affectionate and a little bit of a lap kitty when not too busy playing.

Notes from Home
Princess Caroline had her vet check up yesterday. The vet noted she had pretty bad gingivitis without having any plaque which could be result of Feline Bartonella which can be treated with antibiotics or could be a chronic problem that would mean her teeth need to be constantly cleaned and could possibly lead to her teeth being extracted down the road. Vet took a blood test to see if it's Batonella, which hopefully it will be. (Her vet check on 7/7 did not register bad gingivitis.) Otherwise her health was good, she was friendly to vet and weighed 6.44 lbs.

Other than that she's adjusting very well, very friendly. She typically wants to be in the same room and will sometimes sit near my feet but doesn't need to be in reach. She will eat treats from my hand and likes being petted, but doesn't want to be held for too long. I've started leash training her, she wore the harness without problem, although didn't like it being put on, and would somewhat walk around the apartment if I used the remote controlled bug, but wouldn't move if I used the wand. She won't yet cross the threshold of the front door but am working her up to that. She is starting to climb the 9-foot cat tree I set up, it's a little hard for her to get to the second or third platform but she's done it a couple of times but getting down she's not found a route she likes yet.

Seems comfortable around me but not needy if that makes sense. I let my bedroom door open last night and she seems to have slept all night on the bed.

LEXI
06/23 - update

I've got videos!

Hi everyone! My name is Elaina.

I just arrived at my foster mom's house and I'm loving the indoor life! She's told me I'm a Tortie Siamese. Tortie, smortie...who cares! I just want curl up under your chin for snuggle time and play with every toy I can get my paws on!

Stay tuned for more information, pictures and videos!

Purrs,

Elaina

Notes from Home
8/19/13
Lexi is as adorable today as she was when we brought her home. She still loves her rope toy and drags it all over the house hoping for a game of fetch. She's also trying to convince us that five am is a really good time to play.
A typical day, Mouse and Lexi groom each other, chase each other up and down the hall and then take a nap.
Lexi also talks up a storm if she feels neglected or hungry or that you are in her favorite spot. Neglect mean you stopped throwing he rope before she wants to stop. Hungry mean the bottom of the bowl visible.
She is the best girl kitty in the world but I might be a bit biased.

Jan 2013
Lexi (aka Elaina) is now 8 months old. She is as sweet as a cat could be. Super inquisitive. Loves to play. Adores sitting on your chest and getting pets or just taking a nap. Lexi also has a great deal of fun chasing her big brother Mouse all over the house. Thanks again to all the volunteers who helped Lexi find her forever home with us.

Sep 2012
I am not sure it is possible for Lexi to be more adorable and loving. She and Mouse have bonded beautifully. Watching them bathe each other is heartwarming. Of course, when a bath turns into a wrestling match that's fun too. Well, fun for them, less fun for those of us trying to sleep at midnight :)
Lexi is not picky about her food. Upon our vets advice we have switched her to al wet food as she seems to have no off switch for when she is full and we don't want her to become a pudge ball and have health issues.
9/18/12 Lexi is over her cold and took her medicine like a doll. She has opinions on everything as she should. I have resumed my beading hobby and she is trying to help me pull thread, edit the insgtructions with little kitten teeth punctuation.
She uses all her toys. She particularly likes to sit in her tunnel and watch us. She uses scratching posts.
Daisy is tolerant of Lexi when Lexi pounces on her. Not that the pounces are all that well executed yet but Lexi tries her best.
Out of no where she bounds upon the bed or sofa to say hello and get some pets then its back to Mouse stalking.
Her fur is still super soft. And her expressiin too cute for words. My picture attempts are pathetic but I will try again.
8/27/16
Lexi is a continual joy in our lives. It is difficult to believe four years have passed. She is healthy and happy.
Lexi has become quite the conversationalist these past six months. She has many opinions to share but she is quite adamant that the entire household belongs upstairs after dinner.
Lexi is a girly girl and thoroughly enjoys her at home spa treatments, fur brushing and nail trims.
Don't think she is not a mighty hunter! Stink bugs and spiders are quickly tracked for mom to eliminate

SAGE
I was brought into a shelter in a trap, having been born to a feral mom, with my 5 siblings. Meowmy spotted me and my sister, Tippie and said she'd take us home and care for us until we could get into Siamese Cat Rescue, and here I am!

I've been having a hard time with runny stools, but meowmy thinks that she finally has it getting better. I know I feel better and am eating all the good food she gives us.

We have some growing to do and vetting to get done, so we'll probably be here until around the middle of July, but if I suit your fancy, you can ask about me soon, and maybe I can be yours.

CHANCE
Large sized lover boy! People are excellent! Other cats love me, and I'm completely easy going with them! Following you everywhere like a dog, I'm a good lap sitter, like to be brushed, and am just a gentle giant! Good in all habits too!
Notes from Home
Chance is amazing, and we are so glad he, via Siri, took a chance on us!

His first vet visit went well but our vet thought his luxating patellas might be more, so we had x-rays done that revealed a ruptured ACL and a meniscus injury. He's on pain medication now and we are hoping to be able to have surgery in a month or so. As a result of the pain medication, he's off the charts with energy - plays, romps, and generally acts closer to 3 than 7 years old. He still takes time to cuddle and snuggle - more than Frankie does - it's nice to have balance!

He and Frankie share toys very well, and he has learned that her occasional hissing is just her really poor communication skills. We just remind him that she's young and he rolls his eyes and yawns. He gets along with the dog, and often all three can be found curled up on our bed during the night, leaving little space for us. I suspect I will appreciate this more in cooler weather.

We lost our Golden Retriever Bradley about a week before Chance came to join us. He's helped to ease the transition for all of us, I think, and we are very grateful for his presence here!

8/26/16
I cannot believe it's been a month since Chance arrived. It feels like he's just been here forever. He and Frankie play like crazy, taking turns chasing each other from room to room with no more of her ridiculous hissing. They share toys all the time, and even share treats and meals and sleeping spaces and boxes.

He still gets a shot once a week for pain, but rejected the supplement capsules completely - it was supposed to be opened and sprinkled over his food; I think we would have better luck just popping it down his throat, frankly. We are waiting for surgery until we get our living area renovation finished. I don't want to have him recovering from surgery in the middle of the chaos we have here. It's enough to keep everyone confined in one half of the house during working hours without adding on surgery and recovery.

One of his favorite activities lately involves knocking every item on Gene's bedside table off at 5:30 am, Monday - Friday. I work Saturday and Sunday and am up around then, and I feed both cats before I leave. Apparently this is his preferred meal time, and he makes sure we know it on my "off" days. Today I once again found him sitting in the bathroom in between the shower curtain and plastic liner, facing the tub, tail hanging out under the curtain. I have no idea why he does this. He doesn't DO anything. He just...sits. Very cat!

We still adore him and don't know how he came to be here - but we're very glad he did.

DAO
Outstanding in my field, I'm a number one snowshoe boy who is just wonderful - easy going, fun, mature enough not to be crazy, but still playful and silly! I am very neat in my habits and prefer dry food only. (told you I was easy!) And if paired with a lady friend, she should be playful and confident!

PRINCE HENRY
Wel, I'm back. I loved my owner, but he was allergic to me so I had to come back to meowmy. Now we have to find me another forever home. I love to play, I purr a lot, have great litter box habits, and love to eat. tee hee, the vet said I was getting fat so now I'm not allowed to eat whenever I want.

I loved having a real home, so maybe you'd like me to come to your home? I'm all vetted and ready to go, so just ask about me and help me blow this joint..........again.

Purrs,
