Notes from Home
Ada is doing great! All the food jokes on here can just be disregarded because she is, after much hard work, at her perfect weight of 13 pounds, and is not obsessed with food anymore. She needed to be on a special diet because she had a medical issue where she was not absorbing carbs correctly (and so always felt hungry). So, can the fat jokes from now on! (And anyone making them should feel guilty; she could not help it). She is friendly and snuggly, and extremely smart. She's an integral part of my family and home.

BUTTERSCOTCH
I am a red hot flame guy and I think since my name is Scotty someone is going to BEAM me up real quick. Foster Mom says I am pretty purrrfect but I need to tell you about me. I am only about 1 &1/2 years old. I am front paw declaw. I have excellent manners and I very easy going. I just LOVE everyone. I have never met a stranger. I love to play but I also like to snuggle. Foster mom is mushy and holds me like a baby and kiss my face and tickles my tummy.
She says I wont have to wait too long for that furever home. I hope that home is with you!
Notes from Home
Butterscotch was perfect for us. We feel like he loves us both the same---no favorites!! He is doing very well. We play with him a lot, & talk to him all the time whether he understands or not. He has good manners but still tests us every now & then to see if maybe we forgot counter tops are a no no. It's only been a month but it seems like he's always been here. He was meant to be ours & I'm so glad I was able to adopt him.

We can't believe its been 6 months since we brought home our little bundle of joy. He still jumps on the counters but I think its to be with me when I'm preparing dinner. I just wash my hands & put him down with a "no". He's really a spoiled brat (our fault of course). He is always with one of us. Follows us around like a dog.
He loves to go out on the screened in lanai & terrorized the little lizards. He's had his first sleepover! He brought in a lizard one day & it must have gone under the sofa. We couldn't find it & assumed it ran out the door but Scotty had it under the kitchen table the next morning--still alive & very grateful when I put it back outside the lanai. I am glad he only plays with them & doesn't eat them. He's brought in frogs too.
We celebrated his 2nd birthday---his godmother brought him treats. He has gained weight---is about 14 lbs. now.
I often wonder if he would like a playmate, but we are usually here to entertain him & besides, I can't imagine there is another one just as sweet. I am so glad I browsed your website last summer & found him. We love him.

Scotty is doing great---can't believe its been a year already. He has a playmate now from a local shelter. I checked Siamese Rescue first but there wasn't a declawed cat available near his age that was transportable. Ollie is 5 years old and they believe he is a Turkish Van. His fur is like a rabbit--if you google that breed it looks like him. It didn't take them long (like 2 days) to accept each other. Just a lot of hissing & growling the first night. I was extremely careful that Scotty would be ok with this & would have returned Ollie but they are good.
Scotty had his checkup last month because we had a flea problem & the normal topical treatments didn't work on him & the fleas really liked him best!!! We had to give them Comfortis & I am hoping it is not harming their health in the long run. We even had Terminex spray the lanai area for fleas but are keeping them in for a while because the vet said the fleas are really bad this year.
I sent an email to Shirley after I got Ollie but didn't receive a response. Hope she is ok & just very busy.
Scotty is still a very sweet little boy & we are very glad to have 2 really good cats that get along well.
Scotty is doing great--sweet as ever. We are snow birds now & on our drive from FL to MD he waved to Shirly Bo in NC!! It feels like he"s always been with us & is a very good boy.

Scotty is doing very well & as lovable as ever. We are so happy we found him & vice versa! He had his checkup in MD this year & the new vet thought he was such a love. He's so easy to get along with. Can't say enough good about him. We love him.

PRINCESS
Hi there,

Meowmy said she named me Princess because I'm as beautiful as an Disney Princess and just as sweet.

I love to be held and cuddled, and love to play, though I'm gentle when I do. She thinks there may be Ragdoll in my blood lines because I'm so sweet.

If you love a cat with slightly longer hair, then I'm your gal! Ask about me and maybe your wish will come true!

Purrs,
Princess

I am happy to report that Boston is doing very well! He enjoys exploring his new home and playing with his toys. My other cat, Patches, watches him with amusement and often joins in. Boston is a
good and loving boy!

Boston is such a love!!! He has trained us well! His daily routine includes watching the turkeys and other wild life from the windows, having us turn on the bathroom faucet so that he may have a fresh drink of water (why drink from a bowl), follows me from room to room so that we can play and he can have extra hugs and pats. He has really bonded well with Patches and they will cuddle together. He has also become quite the lap cat and sleeps with us every night. He has brought us so much joy over the past year and I am sure he will continue to so in the future!

JACE
I am proving to be a super lover. I lay on foster mom to sleep and I am right there for all the pets I can get. I am playful but not too rough. I had my little surgery and exam so now all I have to do is find my forever home. If you know anyone looking for a snuggle bunny will you tell them to ask about me? They won't be sorry.

Notes from Home
Jace is a big, beautiful boy. He is a sweet, shy, happy affectionate cat. He is doing very well despite the fact that my daughter and her two DOGS have been sharing the house for the past few months while her husband is stationed overseas. We have the cat zone and the dog zone. Despite the fact that nobody is aggressive, we don't want to take chances and feel it's better for all the furry people involved to have their own quiet space. The three cats and I love my daughter, but will be happy when the "yucky dogs" go home.
Since the dogs have come to visit, the cats have formed a much closer bond with each other, especially Jace and my female Abby. The other female Siamese is still a bit of a haughty princess, but that's just her!
Jace (and all other pets) is current on all his vet visits. They xrayed him for a tummy problem he had a while ago and discovered he has one deformed kidney. It doesn't appear to affect him in any adverse way so we just figure that's how he was born. We monitor his blood at checkups and leave him to his chubby self.
All in all things are fine in Jace's world. They'll improve when the dogs leave in January!
I love my boy.

LEXI
Have you been watching the Olympics? I have and I love to watch my name sake Misty May. Isn't she fantastic?????? Well, so am I. I can "dig" in my "sand"box with the best of them. My ball handling skills are super (Mama Katie will soon get a video of that), but I prefer "jingle balls" and "crinkle balls" to volleyballs - they would "set me up" for a "wipeout". I haven't figured out how to "spike" yet, but Mama Katie said something about my fur - does she mean she might "spike it"? Oh, please, ask about me quick before Mama Katie goes any more crazy with these silly word games. I am as beautiful as my Misty with dark "hair" and a beautiful smile. I love everyone and everything I meet, so I am an easy girl to get to know just like my Misty namesake. PLEASE before the Olympic spirit has died down, ask about me and let me show you how wonderful I am. I could be your Gold Medal Girl. Purrs, headbutts and kisses, Misty

September 2012
Lexi is a fabulous kitty. She has a huge personality and we adore her.

She is thriving in her new home and is doing lots of purring. Her vet appt went well. She is 11.5 pounds now and vet says perfect weight. She did well traveling to and from vet - just a few complaints probably wondering what was happening to her now. I reassured her she would be back home soon. The vet and staff fell in love with her. Dr Skidmore is super impressed with Siamese Rescue.

The integration of Lexi with existing cat, Neko, has been slow. Neko chases Lexi until she hides under a bed. Still some hissing from her and groaning from him. He is very jealous, so he's getting lots of extra attention. I'm surprised at him since we have had another cat in the house and he has behaved just fine. So, we're taking it slow with little visits several times per day and if things escalate, it's back to isolating them apart. Isolation means Lexi is secured in her safe rooms and Neko gets free roam or Neko gets to sit on the screened porch while Lexi gets full roam.

This morning Lexi was introduced to the pet stroller and was able to safely explore new parts of the house on the main floor. Up to now she has come down the stairs, but regards the main floor as uncharted and unsafe (it's a big house to take in so we're taking it slowly). She is very curious and sat quietly on her stroll around. She'd have whimpered if distressed and she wasn't at all. Most curious to see the kitchen where many sounds she has heard come from. Wherever I went, I strolled her along. I know once Neko settles down and Lexi has full roam, she is going to be a follower. She doesn't want to miss anything - such a typical Siamese baby.

So, the good news is Lexi is thriving and is a very loved member of the family. The bad news is Neko is being a butthead and, like many males, is acting stubborn!!!

Lexi's 2 year anniversary. What a fabulous little girl she is. We adore her, as does everyone who meets her. She is the friendliest cat I have ever had. Loves people and loves to play hide n seek with children. We are blessed to have her in our family and are so grateful we were chosen as her forever family. Love, love, love her!

4 year anniversary. Everything is going great. Healthy, happy and hysterically fun cat. We adore her, as does everyone else. Most social cat we have ever had. So grateful to have this precious little diva girl. She loves everyone and still loves to play - big highlight being her laser light and her salmon pate. Wakes me up during the night just for some loving and purring. Happy 4th Anniversary to our Lexi, her partner Neko, and all her friends and family. We love you Lexi Girl!

Notes from Home
Beauregard's 1 month anniversary is today! He has been the sweetest boy- playful, loving, constantly chattering, very attentive, and displays absolutely no politics with Charming Charlie, our SCRC chocolate point and Isabella, our seal point diva! Beau had a rough start physically but has healed up very well. We integrated him very slowly as Charlie was actually afraid of him and Isabella was intrigued and took the time to train him- just another boy in the house! Beau has learned so much from both of them- how to play with all the feather toys and balls, the perfect sun spots, best positions in the cat towers, how to climb on top the cabinets and how to navigate the halls while running full tilt! He is so smart and fast- he leaves Charlie in the dust and Isabella can't believe he can keep up with her. All 3 cats now sleep with us and it is challenging to figure out where I fit on the king size bed. We are so very happy that Beau won his siblings over- he is just a happy, beautiful boy! Bill and I absolutely love him! Thank you all for such a perfect little boy that makes our family complete.

September 6, 2016 Beauregard's 1 year anniversary! We can't believe how very sweet and adorable this handsome little guy continues to be. He is Charlie's best bud and Isabella's little boy, even though he has filled out to be quite the little muscular tough dude. He loves to chase his balls, particularly the purple ones and has us retrieve them from underneath the furniture and grandfather clock numerous times throughout the day- it is a great game for him! We cannot believe how well he gets along with his siblings and loves his family. His name means "beautiful face or gaze" and he truly lives up to that description. We all couldn't be happier to have him in our family. He is our joy! Thank you SCRC!

ABBY
Hi there, I'm Tippy! A lady found me and my sister, Mouse, all alone when we were even teenier than we are now. Our mom was nowhere to be seen so we were shuffled off to the vet in a cardboard box. We had to eat from a bottle for a couple weeks before we were big enough to come into Siamese Rescue. I was named Tippy because I have a little white tip on my tail. That's how you can tell me apart from my sister. We are super friendly and would really like to stay together if we can. We do get along with doggies and other kitties just fine. We're still pretty small and probably won't be ready to go home until mid to late July.

Hi Everyone, this is an update on two little sisters named Abby and Annie (formerly Tippy and Mouse).
I can't begine to tell you of the joy that these babies have brought to our household. They are as sweet as they look. They spend their days chasing toys, playing together, eating, and sleeping! I have yet to hear their voices. Even a trip to the vet was in silence! Not what i'm used to with Siamese. They are Stars on Facebook as I can't help posting pictures of them because they are so adorable. A visit from my grandson was fun for them as he brought new toys and played with them tirelessly. I've been a bit over protective since I only recently let them explore the whole house (with supervision). They are so good and don't get into any trouble! Thank you to everyone involved in their adoption! You have blessed us with little angels. Debbie
P.S. I have lots of picures on my phone but will need someone to show me how to post them here.

MEE MEE
Butch said it all, if you're looking to start your Siamese family, and you have a home that errs on the side of quieter, you can't go wrong with us. We avoided the public shelter experience so we're healthy as they come, having been raised indoor only and underfoot. We need a few days to warm up as new things can be scary, but we're typically Siamese in our nature and can't stay away from you for very long.

FINN THE MUFFIN MAN
Do you like Quirky? Because Quirky is my middle name. Muffin Man because I love to make biscuits, Quirky because, well, just watch my videos, you needed a laugh today anyway, right?

Notes from Home
Update 9/21/2015:
Finn has been home for only 2 weeks but it feels like much longer. He settled in immediately, and has not stopped purring since. He is of course still a weirdo, but I love him for it.

Finn is very much involved in everything, especially cooking. I think he considers himself to be the inspecteur du travail. I now am forced to chose between having Finn hairs in all my food (and several licks missing) or loud meowing if he gets put in the bedroom. One much appreciated distraction is the Slim-Cat ball, which keeps him busy for a few minutes as he furiously rolls around to get kibble out.

His appetite for play is almost as insatiable as his appetite for food. Already he has destroyed two wand toys, gladly tearing the feathers from the wand and running away with his prize. More than once he has decided that the bathmat is his new favorite toy, running off with it mid-shower. He lets me know he is looking to play by frantically running from room to room at full speed. Unfortunately he is not quite coordinated to be doing this and has slammed in to table legs and walls several times.

At night Finn goes from being an sleeping angel to a mad demon in minutes. His favorite nighttime activities are to knock things off of shelves, meow loudly, scratch in his box for upwards for 5 minutes, and to purr loudly right by my ear. The good news is he is always willing to nap during the day.

He has been off of the kitty Prozac, and I would say that is going ok-ish. Finn can be a real cat jerk, but he is the sweetest and most loving cat jerk I have ever met.

Update 10/21
Finn has been home for about 6 weeks now and I couldn't be happier. He did end up going back on the Prozac, and somehow has learned he doesn't like being pilled.

Without Prozac he was just a little too hard to handle. On days I got home super late from work (about once a week) he would attack when I walked in the door. Not sure what that was all about, but it isn't happening anymore thankfully. He also would bite me while I was sleeping (not hard, but definitely unsettling). Now that he is on Prozac he is his normal silly self. He gets up right when my alarm goes off, and makes sure I don't press snooze. He loves his food, although he has Halo Stew in his rotation and somehow manages to leave the bowl clean except for all the peas.

I bought Finn a DABIRD toy, and my oh my has he loved it. I keep it in a closet and now he just sits and meows until I get it out. Even worse, whenever I open the closet door he comes running and makes me feel guilty for not playing with him. Tricky little guy. He still loves to carry around his blanket, although this mostly happens at night. He loves to look out the window, and recently I have been training him to be on a harness. We had our first outdoor adventure last weekend.

Finn is my very best friend and I am so happy he came in to my life. He makes me laugh every day, and snuggles all night. I will be traveling for work a bit, so it will be interesting to see how he handles having a cat sitter.

Update 3/21/2016:
Hard to believe Finn has been home for over 6 months. While he still has been quirky habits (and they change frequently), he is an absolute doll and I love him to bits.

I am traveling quite often, and he is like a puppy every time I get home. He sits and meows at the door and proceeds to purr and head butt as soon as I come inside. I have never had a cat so happy to welcome me home. Finn has mellowed out quite a bit from when I first got him, but he still has the zoomies from time to time and he can get a bit rough in his demands for playtime. He still loves DaBird and his cat nip bananas. He isn't carrying around his blankets anymore, instead he likes to actually sleep on them. While Finn isn't fully a lap cat yet, he does snuggle with me at night and has started sitting closer and closer on the couch.

Overall Finn is doing great. He still has a healthy appetite, but he is no longer constantly searching for food, and he has even been known to leave food in his bowl from time to time. He still darts out the door every time it opens, and he loves to by the window, I think he was probably an outdoor cat at some point in his life.

Finn is very loved and I couldn't be happier with him.

Update 9/07/2016:

Wow I can't believe a year has passed since we brought home Finn. He is incredibly loved and very much the center of attention at my house. He remains a very healthy boy, although he did have a dental last spring to clear up some funky kitty breath, however he didn't need any extractions. We have kept him on the Prozac, although some days I wonder if he might need a higher dose :)

I have never heard Finn fuss about anything (other than being hungry), and I don't think he has a mean bone in his body. He is the easiest cat to pill and he lets me trim his nails while he naps.

Finn has handled my hectic work schedule like a champ, and he makes coming home the highlight of my day. He stands at the door meowing, and he does not leave my side until he has been fed. His appetite is quite strong to say the least, and we have found his absolute favorite foods. He hasn't gained any weight, although I am sure he would be happy to.

Finn is an incredibly playful cat, and sometimes he mistakes his humans for his playmates. He can get a bit wild, especially at bed time, but that is why we love him so much. We have never been successful in transitioning Finn to a lap cat, although he does like to snuggle at night (but only with Marc). Finn does, however, like to be carried around like a baby (only by meowm).

I am sure Finn is excited for the weather to cool down so we can open his window again. It only took one day with the window open during the summer to learn that Finn is no guard cat and he certainly had no interest in chasing all the critters he let in. I really do wonder how he managed as a stray at 7-11.

We love Finn to bits and I am so grateful for everything that the Siamese Rescue did for him.
