VEENA
Hi! I"m Veena. I just got her on 3/31/18 after being spayed just a few days before. That's why I'm wearing that fancy collar. Sure is better than the lampshade the vet sent me home in!

Meowmy said I'm a sweet girl who loves to be held and petted. I lived with my 3 sons for a while, too, so I'd do ok with other cats. Meowmy said she loves me and wishes she could keep me forever, but she's smart enough to know when she's at her limit of fur kids. So luck for you, because now I might be your beloved fur baby.

Ask about me and we'll see if that can happen!

Purrs,
Veena

Notes from Home
Veena is doing great. Her personality is really coming out now that she is becoming comfortable with her new home. She is eating well and a has bit of feistiness about her. Other than having the Giardia, I am very happy with the Siamese Rescue and their process. However, I do feel the Giardia should have been caught before coming to me. I noticed the diarrhea and gas the very day I got her. At first, I thought it was her nerves but of course later found out it was due to the Giardia. Luckily, I took her for her eval within a week of having her, so that it could be detected sooner than later. I am taking another stool sample to the vet next week to make sure the Giardia is gone, but I am still seeing the diarrhea and have noticed the gas still is happening, but not as bad and not as often. Otherwise, we are a happy little duo! :)

NIKOLAKA
I am outgoing and a very sweet boy. I like to explore, I like to purr and I am learning all about toys - I really like these things called balls - they roll around and I get to chase them. Wand toys are fun too - I bat those around like crazy. I would do well around other kitties as long as they know how to play rough and tumble with. I really like people and I am learning all about being a lap cat and I think that will be my future career! I initially did not like the dog here but I am now getting used to him so I will be OK with a dog that will respect me and give me my space to get to know them first.

Notes from Home
Nikolaka is fabulous. The very first night we had him (in isolation) I slept in the guest room with him and he climbed under the covers and spooned all night. It was great. He is out of isolation now and for the most part all has been good. He still hisses a little but no real altercations. Akoni did let him know who was boss once and now he gives Akoni a wide berth. He and Panihaka play all the time. He is a little rougher than Panihaka would like but I think that will improve with time. Unfortunately Torin (now deceased) taught Panihaka and Akoni to scratch on the couch and now they have taught Nikolaka. My couch is down to the wood on spots but I have no idea how to get them to stop this. The other day Nikolaka found a new cat toy to play with, urine balls from the litter box. :( But it only happened one day and we are hoping he has discovered many other toys to play with now. I am currently in an airport heading home so I will add pictures later.

7/7/15 - Nikolaka is doing great. Panihaka has lost weight since he now has someone to play hard with. Akoni is no longer beating up Panihaka. Akoni is still alpha but now he has someone to challenge him from time to time. They all love to play together. None of the cats snuggle together yet but I think that will change when winter hits. For now, all is good.

6/14/18 - Nikolaka is a bit of a bully and is easily overstimulated. When Akoni passed away no one has really become the new alpha in the household. Nikolaka and Jack each want to be the alpha but neither will allow the other to actually be the alpha. Panihaka gets along with everyone. Jack has taught everyone to go in the kitchen and get up on the counters. We have had to barricade the kitchen door (not easy) to keep the cats out. Funny, until we got Jack none of our cats ever set a foot in the kitchen; now they all do. Jack developed IBD and no longer likes a raw diet. So as of last month Nikolaka and Jack changed to strictly a canned food diet. Panihaka still insists on dry food. All in all, everything is good in Nikolaka's world unless someone tries to take over Mom's lap. Then the excitement begins.

KAHLI
Hi - it is me again. Looking for a home to call my own. I am sweet girl and love to be petted. I am good around other kitties and I am ok around dogs. I am a little bit of a diva girl - when you are as pretty as I am what do you expect?

I gave LeeAnn the name: Kahli...

Kahli is doing great! She is purrfect!! She and I are connected at the hip!
Kahli lost her dad, my husband, Harvey, in August 2016. I believe she was sent to me by God to help me through these sad few years. I guess it is safe to say that we have saved each other!

Thanks for all the good work there at Siamese Rescue!

I will love you and demand pets. I have gone from being afraid of seeing other animals to being cautious around other animals. Once I get to know them, they aren't so bad if they are nice to me. Foster mom thinks she is going to lift my only cat restriction, BUT no bully cats, as a note from my previous owner indicated I had been bullied and my foster mom was not sure I could get over it.

Pablo is getting more confident and comfortable each day. He follows me around the apartment when I am home, and even jumps on the sinks and starts meowing when I take a shower. He is eating and using the litter box as normal. One thing I have noticed is that he seems to prefer women, and is possibly a little scared of men. Overall, he is doing great and has become quite playful and outgoing.

MOZART
"You know, I'm not one of those complicated, mixed-up cats." That's a direct quote from Frank Sinatra, and that's who I'm named for! I've also got a set of ol' blue eyes myself and can out-sing the most meezerly cat in the house, so my name is just purrrrfect :-)

So far I'm loving the indoor life after a brief attempt at trying to escape through the bathroom mirror -- what can I say, I didn't really want to take a bath. I follow mom around like a dog, love to be pet, and to roll, and to play. I'm gentle and affectionate and use my litterbox faithfully. Sound good? Well, you know what to do -- just push that little button that says 'ask about me'.

SHOWBIZ
Well, I've been here a week and already told meowmy that I don't like dogs. I also don't like being in this cage and want to be out all the time to run and play. II know what I like and am quick to etll meowmy when I don't like something she is doing, like picking me up to put me back in my playpen. Meowmy says I remind her of a teenager, what ever that is.

Do you think you are ready for a pretty girl like me who has an opinon about everything, and won't hesitate to tell you?
If so, hit the ask about me "paw", and meowmy will tell you more.

Notes from Home
Showbiz celebrated her 9th year in her forever home by sleeping on the sunporch, supervising action in the kitchen from the top of the fridge, playing fetch with her favorite mouse-toy, and cuddling at night with Nick.
She's still a varmint over food and still loves cantaloupe, butter, and popcorn. Nick took a couple of pictures of her in her box in the kitchen, where she hangs out with some of her toys when we're in there, and of her and the mouse-of-the-moment helping Nick with his exercises. She goes to the vet this month, but we think she's doing well.

Notes from Home
This morning Tony was acting lethargic and had some mild diarrhea over night. He did not eat all his food. We took him to the vet immediately and they tested his stool and discovered that he still had hook worm. The vet reviewed his health record and felt there was a problem with the timing of the medicine he had received for this from the vet in Florida. She treated him today with a one time application. He might have additional parasite but she wants to clear up the hook worm first. Hopefully that will do the trick. He also has a swollen right eye which she thinks is likely caused by herpes virus. She applied an ointment that we will apply twice a day for a week. He was such a good patient today! He ate all his food tonight so it's looking good. Just thought you all should know.

Tony had a second emergency visit the next day when his fever spiked. An antibiotic and new eye drops seemed to do the trick. Then yesterday his other eye began to show the same symptoms and the first eye started to worsen. He is eating
but less than normal and lethargic. No fervor still we are off to the vet this am. Will update when we know more.

Update. Tony is being treated for chlamydia. Fluids and antibiotics yesterday and treatments today of both oral and ointment antibiotic. He is eating but avoiding us. Unfortunately the treatments are necessary for at least 3 weeks and he wants no part of them of course! since this can be transmitted to our other cat, we are keeping them apart which is a little more difficult now that they have gotten to be friends.

I understand that symptoms of this bacteria show up 3 to 10 days from contact. In Tony's case, his symptoms began on the third day we had him. You may want to check on all cats that came in contact with him during his journey here either directly or indirectly. It must be very uncomfortable for him not to mention the 3 emergency visits to vet in 3 weeks. We wanted you to know in case this can be avoided for other kitties

Update: I am happy to say that Tony Soprano is doing much better. We finished the eye ointment yesterday and he is enjoying his first quiet day without us pestering him with medicine. Still has 10 more days of oral antibiotics but he is looking and feeling so much better! He is such a sweet and loving little boy and now showing more energy and playfulness. Progress! Crossing our fingers that this time the antibiotic is successful!

Our very sweet Tony is doing great! After several bouts of eye infections, we started a medication to improve his immune system and that seems to be working. Also we found out he had a rare parasite normally found in the Pacific Northwest. We had to special order the pills (5 pills 2 consecutive days, we had the vet do it!) and that took care of it. So he has been free of vet visits for a couple of months and is just the most loving guy! He will throw himself on his back for a belly rub or kiss his brother on the head or sleep with his head buried in my hand or neck. The two adopted brothers get along so well. Rocco is the dare devil and gives Tony ideas. When I catch the 2 of them at some mischief, Tony is shy and worried and Rocca is all innocence. What a pair! We are so grateful to the Siamese rescue for bringing us these two sweethearts. They bring us love and laughter everyday!

Tony is a changed kitty from his early delicate days. He is very strong and also more vocal so I always know when he has a wish or desire. If I just follow him, he will take me to his toys to play or to his dishes to feed him or just to a spot that he can throw himself down, roll over and have me pet him. He loves hanging out on the screen porch or sleeping in his bed or playing with his toys and/or brother. We refer to him as the Prince as he acts like one and while he doesn't run to people, he doesn't run away or hide either, he just waits until the love comes to him!

After many early visits to the vet, good news, all parasites are gone. He returned recently just for a checkup and next round of shots. No recurrence of the earlier infections. We are so happy to see him really come into his own and let us be a part of his life. He is a sweet boy and a perfect cat!

Tony is just the sweetest of cats while still maintaining his princely ways! He likes to talk and looks for me to follow him so,he can show me whatever it is he wants, like food or play time or pets. He is also will throw himself on the floor and rollover for attention. So cute for such a sophisticated boy! Check out this mornings gecko hunt with is brother.

SOMETIMES NELSON, BUT LEANING
Nelson is the King of Laid Back! He has no worries and simply goes with the flow. He is extremely affectionate and loves to make air biscuits. Because of his laid back personality, he would do well in a family with children. He showed me this week that he really likes dogs by headbutting my dog and then rubbing against her each time he saw her :) He also would do well with other cats. He is just as easy going as they come!

Notes from Home
Nelson continues to be a joy. His vet calls him Baby Face Nelson. He is healthy, playful and just loves people. Seems the more the better. Our grandkids love him too!

Baby face Nelson is doing great. Such a people cat! He loves company, very sociable. Even non-cat lovers (hard to understand but we know some) are won over by his charms. His new brother Tony tolerates him very well too. They even do the bookend thing on occasion.

Nelson, aka ROCCO, is the best. He has so much, personality! He runs to the door when we come home or to greet visitors. He even walks us to the door when we leave. We had several house guests this year and he was a big hit with everyone. We call him a puppy because he follows us all around the house. He and his adopted brother like their daily
play time too. We haven't found a toy yet that Rocco won't play with! He sleeps at the foot of our bed every night and
loves to watch the geckos from his screened porch. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found him. Thanks to everyone who made this match possible.

Rocco, formerly known as Nelson is our joy. Over the years we have had many cats but only Rocco runs to the door when he hears the doorbell. He loves all people! The year just flew by and we are thankful for his playful and friendly nature everyday. His favorite things are a torn paper bag to slide on and hide toys in and the cloth bag I bought for his toys that he has made into his bed. Every person is a friend and he is always ready to play! Thanks again for rescuing this charming, special boy!

I forgot to mention that Rocco has been to the vet twice. He was just in for his shots and other than a scheduled teeth cleaning, he is heathy. As with all things, he enjoys himself when other people are around and everyone fussing over him at the vet was lots of fun

Rocco is doing great! Everyone that meets him (and that's a lot since he runs to the door to greet every visitor) loves him! He always is tail up, checking out people and activities. He doesn't miss a thing! A sweet, fun loving cat that sleeps with one eye open. Check out his latest hobby, gecko watch!

ROSALYNN
Independent and confident, a cool lady, I'd like to go with my brother Romulus as he's a bit of a scaredy guy and relies on me! We both belonged to an amazing Siamese Rescue volunteer who took incredible care of us, including brushing our teeth every day. We are both in great health and were incredibly well loved, and despite the loss of our Meowm, are adjusting very quickly. We'd be a great instant family for a quieter situation that wanted two cats! And flames to boot, you're going to love our loving nature! Not one bad habit to share!

Notes from Home
This update covers Rosalynn (VA12568, formerly VA9729), Romulus (VA12569, formerly VA4133), Belle (VA4449) and Harrison (VA12397):

Greetings from the Gang of Four! Since I, Rosalynn, am the Queen in this household, I have appointed myself spokesperson for the whole group. I posted this on Facebook, but I feel the whole Meezer Community should hear from Queen Rose, so I'm reposting here.

Let's start with the important one, me: I have discovered MEN! I LOVE my Paw-Paw so much, and like to cuddle into his side. The Woman is okay, but she's the one who took me to see the vet and to have a dental, and now she gives me pills. How dare she! I take them, and I forgive her after a while, but really now, it's almost too much. I do have to admit that my mouth feels a lot better now. The Woman is calling me "Rose" or "Rosey" even though she knows my proper name is Rosalynn. On the plus side, she's made a lot of great places for taking naps, and I'm trying them all.

Romulus (they call him "Rommy" and "Remmy" and "Sweetheart") is so funny. He gives them The Look, like he's expecting them to do something special, and THEY KEEP TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS! What a scream, because all he wants is pets or food -- or pets AND food. The Woman is learning how to care for a long-haired cat and is brushing Rommy's fur every day. AND she's brushing his teeth, with his own little toothbrush, every day too. That's not too good as far as I'm concerned, because as soon as my mouth fully heals I bet she'll try to brush my teeth too!

Belle and Harrison were already here when we arrived. Belle is a feisty one, and I like that. Note that she is "The Princess Belle" and I am "Queen Rose." She and I are still working out who owns what space, but it's a friendly process. She is very glad that Rommy and I are helping her teach Harrison good manners! He's a fun cat, and very handsome, but he needs a firm paw teaching him how to behave. PawPaw and The Woman joke that his full name is "Harrison T. Saavedra," because "Trouble" is his middle name. Weird, right? But they think it's funny. Rommy and Harrison have little wrestling matches, but I think maybe they actually enjoy the exercise. Sooner or later, Harrison will get the message. He certainly has calmed down a LOT since he has five adults (3 cats, 2 humans) teaching him what's what!

Romulus and I still miss our real meowmy. I like to think she knows we're as loved and pampered as we should be. I think we'll be okay here. I hear they have a heated floor which they turn on as soon as the weather gets a little cold, and I'm looking forward to that.

All the best to everybody at Siamese Rescue!
love, Rosalynn

Arlo, now Pierre, is doing great! He was a little shy the first day he came home, but on the second day he was out and ready to play! He loves wand toys and loves chasing the red laser dot around the house. Pierre is very sweet and loves to cuddle and is an active participant in movie night. He also loves his food and we've had to find ways to try and slow his quick eating down. He now eats his morning dry food from a puzzle ball (for once it's okay to play with your food!) and he still eats his wet food/water mix at night. His vet appointment also went very well and the vet said he was very healthy. We love having him in our family and it was one of the best decisions we ever made!
