SOLO
I was so unaffected by my unceremonious dump into the night drop off box at the shelter, that the shelter workers named me "Mellow". I'm friendly, I'm curious, I'm active, and I'm handome. More pictures of my handsome self soon, I'm too much in foster mom's face for her to get pictures. And I'm living up to my name - I'm too mellow to assert myself much, so aggressive or really dominant cats will walk all over me. Nice kitties only, please!

Seems to be quite the escape artist - homes with kids will be considered depending on home/door set up. No aggressive cats please - he's too laid back! |

Notes from Home
Napoleon Solo, "the Cat from U*N*C*L*E", as he is known around here, is the best and most wonderful cat. He is funny and friendly and sweet and playful. He thinks my 3 year old daughter is his litttermate and he plays chase with her, and they steal each other's toys. He will also sit on my lap or by my side, or with my husband, and purr and be loving. His litter habits are excellent, he is clean and well-behave in all regards. We love our Solos so much, we cannot possible imagine how or why anyone could have dumped him in a shelter.

PRECIOUS
Sweet & petite with a lot of love to give - that's me!
I prefer a quiet home where I can be your one and only. I enjoy tummy rubs and being petted in general.
I have a very loud purr and will knead for hours.
Do you have a good place for a little princess like me?
Purrs,
Precious

Notes from Home
So far so good.
My official name for the documents is Precious, but my nickname is.. well I am not sure how to spell it in English I am an american kitty after all, but in Russian it is a silly/loving way to say "a mouse". I am well behaved and quite independent, I mostly play by myself. Sometimes I will climb on Sv's lap, but not too often, I typically have more important business than that, say having a nap or hunting.
I am not scared any more. Even if the fire alarm goes off I do not care. When there are some weird noises behind the door I come closer and try to figure out what is going on. I also like to stick my nose under the closet doors, I bet Sv is hiding something very exciting there, such as kitty birds.. Ohh, I love hunting them, rip those feathers apart in a jiffy! I also love chasing balls with the bells in them, too bad they are hiding so well after intensive play sessions, that neither Sv (she is particularly bad in that) nor I can find them until it is cleaning time. Every once in a while I hunt furniture legs, they are pretty mean creatures, you know, gotta show them who's the boss every once in while.
Sometimes I talk, mostly when I suspect that Sv is going to eat something or when she sleeps in a way too peaceful manner.
My major hobby is finding new places to sleep at. Each week I find a new favorite spot and occupy it.
Well, I guess I will keep you posted. Gotta take a nap immediately.

LUKA
I am what they call in Rescue just a plain old wreck. Not a car wreck, not a train wreck, just a wreck. I've had blood done, urine checked, xrays taken, and nothing can be found. What no one gets is how INCREDIBLY sensitive and sad I have been at having lost my home. If only people realized what it does to us when we're dumped at the shelter. Anyway, enough about the past - I need to look to the future. I need a new home where I get 28 hour a day attention. I'm incredibly needy, clingy, sensitive, desperate, loving, sad, affectionate, kissy, did I say needy? I don't care about other dogs or cats or kids, but the more of those you have, the less time you have for me, and I just need plain old lots and lots of time. My eye is funky, my body is thin, my coat is rough, but my personality is plain old gold.

Luka is adjusting really well - the folks at the rescue center and the meezer express drivers took such great care of him. He is drinking, eating and sleeping under the covers with his new human. He is just a bundle of love. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for his owner to part with him. That is certainly not going to happen again!
04/12/09 - we have our first poop!! Updates when I can - It is hard to get to the computer as it is a laptop and Luka does not like to share the lap. Pictures are also hard as he still follows me everywhere without delay.
04/26/09 - Luka has completely settled in. None of the problems he first experienced after being dumped at a shelter. No eating problem, no vomitting, no sniffles. I think he knows this place is his forever. I can't understand how anyone could even consider giving this bundle of love up. He loves to be held in my arms, wrap his paws around my neck, and head butt me. All I can say is thank you to all the folks at SCR that brought the joy of meezerdom back into my life!

CABO
Young, displaced, snowshoe boy looking for new digs. I like the doggie here and one of the other fosters, but I'm afraid of the diva female cause she likes to beat up on me. So if you have nice kitties, I'd be ok, but please no kitties that would pick on me. I'm a lover, not a fighter.
If I sound like I'd fit in your home, please..............
Apply within.

well it's been a full week and cabo is amazing! the introduction to our dog sasha went slow (on sasha's side), but well. right now cabo is lounging on my bed and sasha is asleep in her own bed.
cabo is such a great cat. he's sweet, loving and responds well to NO (like trying to get on my kitchen table). he likes sasha, and has bonded to both me and my husband.
i will upload pics soon. i'm hoping to get one of him and sasha :)
thanks to everyone who helped in the process of getting cabo to us!!!

TEDDY
Vet says I should be the only cat as I have a touch of herpes in the eyes, and that can transfer cat to cat. The sad news about that is I love other cats, the good news about that is many rescued cats already have this problem, so I'm not the only one! So if anyone has a rescued cat looking for a bud (I like the cute females the best), or wants an only cat, or just plain isn't that worried about it, then let's talk! I'm a very polite, very distinguished, very handsome, loving to play type gentleman with a heart of gold!

GABRIELLE
I'm beginning to settle into my new foster home and get comfortable here. I am a very happy girl. When foster Meowmy or Paw Paw come into the room, I chirp and purr and purr. I also like to rub against their legs and show them how happy I am.
I must admit, I might be a little overweight but I still look good in a bikini. I faithfully use my litter pan and I'm getting used to the food I'm being fed. I'm getting something called "diet" food for some reason or other.
Please ask about me, I will make you a wonderful family addition.
Purrs,
Gabrielle

Notes from Home
Hi All,
Well, it's been almost 3 weeks now that Bert has been in his furever home and I must tell you he's settling in fabulously. In fact, it's like he's always been here. My friends ask me all the time "How's Bert?" and my response is "Bert's GREAT!!!", because he truly is.
We were able to let him have full run of the house within about 4 days after he arrived. I moved his food bowl and litter box to their permanent locations after 1 week and he's never looked back since. He hasn't displayed any of the issues we thought he might have and didn't want anything to do with his Millie bed until I washed it and I've never seen him look twice at his blue cube thing at all. It's like when he got here he left all his old baggage behind and has been moving forward ever since.
It's funny that Katie thought he wasn't a lap cat because sometimes I think he would take up permanent residence in my lap if I would let him. Morning, day, night-it makes no difference to him, he loves my lap. He already has me trained to give him is crunchy treats each morning before I have my breakfast. He's found a great spot in our front bay window for his King Bert pillow. It's one of his favorite spots .
We had our first visit to Dr. Tobe last week and he was definitely not happy with me pulling him out of his new home. But once we got back home, he was fine within about 30 minutes. I think he realized that he's going to get to stay. He's a little skiddish still with some noises and doesn't like for either of us to walk around on the hard floors with hard soled shoes, but other than that, he seems to be fine with most of the usual stuff that goes on in a house.
Lonnie & I can't begin to tell you how wonderful we think Bert is and that he couldn't be a more perfect cat for us than if we had ordered him. Make us wonder if he's so perfect now, what will he be like once he really settles in. He'll be running the house!!! He's very smart and loveable and I look forward to coming home in the evenings to see him. Those big blue eyes of his just make your heart melt.
Thank you so much for allowing us the previledge of adopting Bert. He makes us very happy and we truly belive he's happy too.
Furever yours,
Candi & Lonnie Vaughn
