MARCI
Well, foster mom has learned that I do not like other cats. I'm a very easy going gal with lots of love to give, but I only want to love my humans - not other animals. I love being petted and getting back rubs. I will give you lots of kisses and headbutts in return.

I'm a little timid at first, just need to make sure my surroundings are safe. Once I know everything is A-okay, you will have a hard time getting me to leave your side!

7/29 Update: Well, foster mom is really pushing this hanging with other kitties thing on me. I'm actually now able to tolerate them enough to be in the same room (geez, there are THREE of them!). Okay, so maybe I hiss and growl a bit, but never, never fight. They are all looking at me like "Hey, what's you're problem, girl?" I go up and sniff them a little, then hiss, then sniff, then hiss ... I don't know what the big deal is. Foster mom says I'm getting there, just need to drop the hiss part and I'll be doing good. We'll see, I like to keep foster mom in suspense :-)

7/31 Update: I'll admit, maybe laid back boy kitties aren't so bad :-)

Notes from Home
Two week anniversary for Marci with her new family:

Marcy has made a wonderful addition to our family. Our Snowshoe Male Joey is getting a lot of exercise these days, they romp all over the house, run up and down the stairs at least once a day these last 4 days and without the hissing that was at first of course. Marci and Joey both run around the kitchen vocalizing loudly at feeding time. Marci needs to be called just once at bedtime to fly onto the bed, purr and fall to sleep with Mom till daylight. Our house is now her house, she's taken over!

we love her dearly!

BEAUREGARD BROWN
11/28 update: I am really enjoying life these days! I love to be petted and come to foster mom for affection in the morning before she gets out of bed. I'm still pretty afraid of strangers, but strangers can become friends, right? I like to run and explore around the house and can be rather rowdy when I feel the urge. I'm up high, I'm down low, and I can make a lot more noise running around than you'd think a little 7-1/2 pound guy could! I like other cats, so I'd like to have a playmate in my new home. I also don't mind the laid back dog here either. I talk a little bit, too, sometimes in my squeaky voice, especially when I'd like something from you like food! Do you think you have a little patience for a cutie boy like me? I'll have to be shy at first, but then once we understand each other, I'm full of love and fun!

Notes from Home
I'ts a good think we changed her name to Lola, because Madeline was just to nice and sweet for this girl! What a riot she is. From the day we opened our door and saw her in the crate and up to now, she remains to be the nuttiest little thing. We love her! After an initial exploration with some dietary issues, we have finally found a food she can tolerate, but of course it's the expensive kind from the vet. This kitty is a total DIVA!
She has assumed the dominant role over Puck, which we expected, yet she is tolerant and somewhat passive with our 3 year old son. She will lay next to him, sit by him and allow him to touch her every now and then. Sometimes she even gives him a leg-rub.
Lola and Puck have become very bonded in the few years they have been together. She allows him to clean her face and ears, but then will take him down with a full Nelson, even though he is much bigger than her. She is tiny, barely 6 pounds, nibbles at her food, and never eats what you place in front of her. Funny girl. She nips and scratches at our legs and arms, wakes us up from deep sleeps and gives wet nose kisses at the wee hours of the morning. Terrible manners, but we love her just the same.
Thank you SRC for taking the time to help us find her and for matching her so well with Puck.

PUCK
Meowm says to tell you she has posted new pictures of me! I have been here just over two weeks now, and I was initially very shy, but I have come around and I am playing and loving and having a big time. I am a sweet, sweet, boy and when meowm loves on me, I nuzzle to her chest and I purr and purr. Foster mom says I have a beautiful sweet face and BIG blue eyes. I will make somebody a nice kitty. You may have to wait a couple of weeks for me to come around when I first get home, but meowm says I am well worth it I am easily intimidated by other kitties even nice kitties, when they are bigger than me. I am more comfortable with kitties that are smaller than I am, so maybe you could take me, and a kitten too? So what do you think? Is yours my forever home?

Notes from Home
Puck made his way into our home very carefully, but with so much trust. He stole our hearts right away. What a lover! After have him for a year, we lost one of our furry friends to cancer. We got Lola (Maddy) about 6 months later, and boy was that fun! It seemed to bring the kitten back in Puck and they became fast friends.
We regularly catch the two of them scrunched into a kitty bed, or sleeping on the spare bed, all cuddled up together. He grooms her face until she has had enough and takes him down. He's a big boy, loves his, and her, food way too much.
He is the most gentle cat we've ever owned. He tolerates our three year old, even when our son decides to give him the "ahhhaaa" jump in your face greeting. Never one time has Puck given us or our son an extension of a claw or bite, even when he has to take medication. He has perfect litter habits, grooms himself constantly and snuggles next to me at night. What a wonderful cat.

OLLIE
Good day to you!

I am finally ready to head home. I had to have some surgery to remove a tumor that was behind my eaR (you can see some click here pics of me sporting that stupid collar). I was in pretty bad shape when I got rescued from a very sad and neglectful environment and now I'm in recovery. Don't worry my other ear works really good so I can still hear you calling to me and I can run and give you lots of love.

My foster home is very cool. My other house didn't have clean litter, fresh food, or even a place to hang out cuz there were so very many of us crowded together. It was very, very bad there and I'm so thankful to have lots of space, food, and my clean litterbox that I use faithfully. I'm like a velcro monkey and love to be near you, on you, and wrapping myself around your legs.

So why not give me a chance to bring some sunshine into your heart and home?

Love,
Ollie

Notes from Home
Ollie changed his name when he came home… he was such a streak of White Lightening that he became "Hooch" immediately! He's very playful even now, at a fairly sedate age of almost 4; he brings strings and shoelaces and drops them at our feet and waits for us to throw them so he can fetch them. He's a very smart boy! And he's very loving. He does not like having his picture taken, no matter how handsome we tell him he is.

The pic I'm posting was taken by my daughter last week… he sleeps like this a lot, especially if we're watching TV.

Darwin has turned into quite the love, of course it has to be on his terms and not yours. " Mister Chunk" has gained a pound or two, and loves to sit on meowmy's lap while she is on the computer. His favorite toy is sister Brae and they play constantly. I think he was a former wrestler because he loves to tackle Brae when least expected.

Brae, aka Kechi Brae, is growing in leaps and bounds. She is very active and very, very inquisitive, gaining weight nicely and just loves her cat tree. She likes to sit on the top and check out the scenery. She is very affectionate and really gets a lot of play time with empty boxes.

Aja is doing as well as can be expected with her medical conditions now (she has both CRF and hyperthyroidism). While she has lost 5 pounds since I adopted her, she has stabilized at around 7 pounds or so.
But, while I have to give her fluids and medicine every day, she still rules the house and continues to live the life of Riley! Take a look at the picture and see what I mean.

GOFURR
Hello. I'm known as Gofurr because I go for the door when ever possible. You see, I got a taste of the outside and even though it was cold and lonely, that's all I know right now. But I can see that it will be easy to get used to this good life again. I'm now clean, free of fleas, get steady meals and have this wonderfully soft Millie bed to lay my thin body.

You see, it was hard for me to take care of myself and hunt for food, because some mean person had me declawed when I was younger, and then threw me out!

Meowmy said that I will get a forever home now and never have to fend for myself again. I still haven't let all my secrets out yet, but as soon as I'm ready to tell Meowmy more, she'll tell you.

So how about asking about me and maybe your home will be my forever home.

Purrs,
Gofurr

Notes from Home
Hi,
We have given Gofurr a nickname - "Big Boy". His christian name is still on file but he has grown into his long body and nickname. I'm guessing he wants to make sure he never goes hungry again. I've started him on a light formula dry cat food this week. Unfortunately our other cat has had issues so we have to leave food down for her all the time so she'll eat enough.

Big Boy is a really sweet cat. He sleeps most of the day either on our bed or on the rug on the far side of the bed. We pat him and talk to him every time we go into the room. He purrs & enjoys the attention but likes it only in short bursts. When he comes out in the kitchen in the afternoon & evening he sleeps under the kitchen table. I'm guessing this gives him a sense of security. Every time one of us walks into the kitchen he butts us and rubs against us. I usually pick him up and pat him for a minute or so. He now relaxes & enjoys the attention, again, only for short periods. When I pu thim down he usually turns around and smacks my leg. Since he's declawed it's painless. I think he likes being fresh.

I wish his background was known. It incenses me that the trama from his time out on the street, due to whatever human flaw, severely damages their ability to trust for so long. Gaining trust again is a long and slow process. I wish he would spend more time in the living room and sit on us but hopefully that will happen in the future.

He has been very respectful toward our 10 yr old cat. He's love to play with her but she's such a queen and so dominant that any play is limited. He will chase her around on occasion until she turns and glares at him.

I've rambled on but the bottom line is that we love him and he's been a great addition to our family. His attitude reminds me of a somewhat awkward teenager who wants to please but doesn't always use the correct approach. I'm glad for him that he was adopted by experienced siamese cat owners rather
than novices who may have expected too much from him in too short a period of time. He settles in a little more each day. He is truly loved and will have the best life we can give him.

ZEDA
Hi - I'm Zeda and I'm a very sweet and loving girl. I love to have people around me, sit in laps, be loved on and kissed as well as cuddled. I have lived with other cats and dogs before, but would probably be happiest as an only cat with my "special" person to care for me. Do you have catnip sacks at your house? I'd love to have some of those to play with as well as toys on a string. SO, if you can give lots of love and can provide me with just a few necessities, I'll be your special girl forever. Love and purrs, Zeda

Notes from Home
I adopted Zeda at a really tough time in my life. As I was starting grad school in a new place, a tragedy happened in my fiance's (now husband's) family. Having Zeda there with me when it was really hard to meet new people because of how sad I was gave me a friend who always greeted me happily when I came home, cuddled when I needed it, and gave me unconditional love in return for playtime and food. She got me through the first year of grad school, and when my husband and I got married and moved in together, we decided that she really might like a kitty companion. After talking to Zeda's foster mom, Katie, about it, she recommended Duncan, a mellow young Lynx point boy. We brought Duncan home, and after a careful integration period, the kitties did great together. That was almost a year ago now and they continue to become closer as kitty siblings. Everyone who comes over to the house remarks on how friendly and sweet they both are, and our cats have convinced several "non-cat" people how great kitties can be! We love them like they're our children and are so thankful that ours is their forever home!
