Notes from Home
Benjamin has made my house his home, and while he still hisses when his bro Bankcroft comes near, he doesn't get up and leave. Still working out an exercise regimen to get rid of excess weight--hard to control his grazing without cutting into Bancroft's food. We WILL shed the extra cargo, however. Vet examined and reports he's fine otherwise. Love to sit in lap and snuggle, and enjoys visitors. He gets up on card table during game night and sleeps on a corner while we play. And still loves to be brushed. He's a real sweetie, and glad he's here.

Already a year--as most other adopters note, it seems like just yesterday Benjamin entered my life. He's such a sweetheart, loves to kiss and purr. Lap cat extraordinaire, but you have to hold him "just right," with your hands in all the right places, which is a little hard to do while you're trying to read the paper in morning. Otherwise, he chews on the paper or whatever else is taking your attention away from him. He and his bro Bancroft still generally "keep their distance" from each other, but no major upsets. Banks, who is ailing, stays on my bed all day while Ben roams the condo. Diet is still a problem--Ben remains rotund, even after cutting back some on foods. Have to figure out a way for him to get more exercise. We'll get there! Thanks, Siamese Rescue, for another gem of a cat.

MR. PICKLES
I bet you are wondering about my name, well I was in a pickle of sorts, living outdoors and getting picked on. I was not so good at defending myself but I do know one thing about pickles. Some like 'em sweet, some like 'em garlicky, and some like 'em crunchy but I bet you will like me any way!

Love & Tunafish,

Mr. Pickles

Notes from Home
It was a very long weekend for us and Mr. Pickles. Lots of riding in a car. We finally made it home late Sunday afternoon. Glad to get out of the carrter and stretch the legs. Mr. Pickles was allowed to accustom himself to his new surroundings for awhile. Everything was waiting for him, toys, a kitty bed, litter box, food, and water.. He has settled in nicely. He loves to play with his toys. However, he has ignored his kitty bed in favor of mine. He loves to play the "game",m, trying to catch my hand under the covers when I move it around. He is very loving and gives lots of head butts and rub arounds. He likes to lay on my chest and purr when I am laying down. Beautiful kitty. We love him! Thanks to all who helped get him to us!

Mr. Pickles decided he wanted to venture downstairs and do some exploring. All
was cool until one of the Saint Bernards came in. She's good with cats but Pickles didn't want anything to do with her.. He did see a couple of birds perched on the roof of the room below mine. He thought they were very interesting
watched them intently until they flew away.

One month anniversary! Mr. Pickles has devoured his banana toy. He absolutely adores the little mouse on the stick. He is also quite intrigued with playing what we call "the game". He pounces on feet and hands that move under the bed covers. He is very affectionate, giving lots of rub arounds and head butts. Like Serita, he still is not comfortable with being picked up and held. He is a bold explorer and loves to check out the whole house when the dogs are outside.. He sleeps on my bed, ignoring the kitty beds and basket. He does, however, make good use of the scratching post. His favorite window to look out of is the one in the bathroom. It looks out over the back yard, pool, and barn. The barn swallows nesting in the barn are of particular interest to him. He is a joy to play with.

What can I say about Mr. Pickles, or "P" as I sometimes call him? He is a reckless dare devil chasing after his toys and racing from one end of the house to the other. He was totally not interested in the laser light. But he did get a special gift which I hope he will share with Serita, a two level stand to make it easier to look out the bathroom window to watch all the action in the backyard. I did try to take him outside on a leash one day. He slipped the collar so I got a harness. He doesn't particularly like it. We'll keep trying it. P does have one annoying habit. As soon as I finish cleaning his litter box he has to jump in and leave his calling card! Gotta love him.

It is rapidly coming up on the 6 month anniversary of P.'s adoption. It is also very close to Christmas time and that means we'll have to see what he does with the Christmas tree in the house. Could be interesting. Once the kids were back in school and the weather more comfortable for the dogs to

stay outside for several hours, I have been allowing the cats full roam of the house. Pickles loves it and follows me around from room to room while I am doing my chores. He even jumps up on the table to see what I am having for breakfast. He likes cheese but won't touch eggs. He's a nibbles, making frequent trips to his food bowl to have a snack. He still uses the litter box immediately after I clean it, every time. He also follows me into the bathroom when I shower and watches me "clean my fur". He is quite active. He races from one end of the house to the other. He often plays with his toys on my bed. He loves the catnip banana even though all the cat nip is long gone. His favorite sleeping place is a corner at the foot of my bed. Doesn't bother with his kitty bed any more. He has been a joyful, loving addition to our family!

We are at just about the first anniversary of Mr. pickles adoption. He had a very good check up with the vet. His weight has remained fairly stable. He is a snacker, making frequent trips to the food bowl and then racing around the house to burn off energy. He follows me everywhere in the house. This morning I awoke to a big surprise. Somehow my bedroom window screen had been knocked out. There was Serita half out the window and Pickles exploring the roof of the room below my window. Gotta love the kitties. P still loves his catnip banana. He has also been a bit of a kleptomaniac, stealing the younger Grandchildren's slippers and bringing them upstairs. I found a screen house with weighted tubing at the bottom. The kitties and I will be spending some time outdoors this summer relaxing and soaking up the sunshine, running our "paws" through the grass. Can't wait to see their reaction. There is a good place to set up that will be out of reach and sight of the dogs.

Well, the screen house didn't last long. A storm came threw and the umbrella went airborne and smashed the glass table top. It was quite a project picking up all the pieces of glass out of the grass. I even used the shop vac to get all the pieces . The neighbors must have thought I was a little eccentric. Fast forward one year and Mr. Pickles is doing just fine. He has had his yearly checkup and was pronounced healthy. He loves stealing the grandkids small stuffed animals. We have added a kitty shelf in one of the bedroom windows that overlooks the pool and the side yard with a big elm tree and bird feeders. It's one of his favorite bird watching sites. Pickles has his very own kitty bed but prefers to sleep on top of mom. Frequently during the night he awakens me by tapping my face with his paw so I can pet him. He still does not like to be held. Last day of school is tomorrow. Looking forward to being home all day with my kitties. Lots of time for snuggles.

Another year gone by. I retired 6 mos ago and have lots more snuggle time with the fur babies. Pickles is as handsome as ever with his bright blue eyes and silky fur. He loves lots of scratches behind the ears and gives plenty of head bumps and rub around. He still wakes me up during the night by patting my face with his paw to get some more scratches. He is still very playful and active, running from one end of the house to the other. No stuffed animal is safe from his clutches. His collection has grown from all the raids on the Grandsons rooms. Pickles has actually worn out his scratching post from using it so often. His mommy is fixing it with new sisal rope. When done it will be as good as new. He had a good checkup with his Dr.

Big changes in 2018. My son bought his own house in March. The people count went from 6 to just me. Peace and quiet at last! I have been busy repainting and reorganizing, weeding out, and redecorating. My retirement did not last long. A blown engine necessitated me going back to work . After dogs left, the gate at the bottom of the stairs came down. The cats are in 7th Heaven. Pickles follows me all around the house. He is also now climbing into my lap for some one on one time. A few months ago a friend introduced me to a cat/dog mouthwash that is added to their drinking water. Just a capful is added. The redline on P’s gums is gone. His mouth is now healthy and his breath is so much nicer. He still loves his crinkle balls and catnip mouse. His yearly check up with his Dr. went well and he was declared healthy even with a 1 lb weight gain. He loves looking out of all the windows at the birds and racing up and down the stairs. Definitely a happy camper!

GRACIE
What does a girl have to do to get a little attention? I'm a beautiful fluffy girl, though some people say I look like Grump Cat. I'm not grumpy though, at least not really grumpy. (What princess isn't grumpy, at least occasionally?) I like hanging out in the cat tree or snoozing in an enclosed area. love people and will purr whenever I see someone. I like being petted and brushed to help maintain my beautiful coat. I have great habits and am very low maintenance. Won't you please ask about me?

A quick note about Gracie!!
She is the most wonderful pet, "friend", and companion!! It has taken her a long time to really feel "at home", but recently has shown interest in "strangers" coming to visit. For the longest time, my grandson was sure she hated him! The last time he spent the night, Gracie decided he was ok and slept close to him!! In the last month, she has begun to jump up to sit with me or even for morning "conversations" in bed. She has always been very verbal, our frequent conversations last sometimes 10 minutes.
I have decided to take a slow approach with her since she had so many transitions. Her trust level took a long, slow time, but now she seems fully acclimated and loves her "mama" - always big purrs.

My vet loves her and she loves him - she readily goes to him - he gets down on the floor with her! Due to his experience with ragdolls in vet school, (there was a breeder who used their school for her ragdolls so he has extra experience with them) he is convinced she is a ragdoll!! When I first saw her on line, I thought so, too!

I love her so much and I think she feels the same!! Thanks to all who helped with her rescue/adoption!!

BABOO
Baboo has been under the weather with a shelter cold and is just starting to feel better and regain his appetite. He loves to be petted and get attention.
Not sure about other cats yet but will be able to check when iso time is completed.

Notes from Home
Well it took the full 6 months for 12yr old Jemima to accept Baboo. He was very patient and gentlemanly, deferring to her all the time, and now stands his ground when she tries to intimidate him. Its a starring contest now only. No more growling and hissing by her, she shares the food, the sunny lanaii but not my lap. They even play chase and call each other to play. Sometimes Jemima can be very moody and if passing him makes a swipe at him? But she has her moods, i feel she has prevented Baboo from bonding much with me as she is glued to my side, lap etc. though he is not much for petting or brushing or holding, he perks up when i have visitors and hangs with them. Jemima has made it clear to him that she possesses me. Any suggestions?
I am still trying every brand of wet foods with pure meats or fish, no grain or ash. He is extremely fussy. Jemima eats everything. He will eat the dry if doesn,t want the wet at least. He might gobble a whole can one time , so i buy a supply then he won,t touch it again. Strange.
I am trying to introduce some petting and brushing gradually. Took him to a groomer who brushed out a lot of hair, bathed and clipped his toenails. Guess they had several people to hold him. All in all he is a good boy and welcome addition to my fmly. Sleeps in my closet at nite , used to come up on my bed but i guess Jemima has made that off limits for him too. I feel they are good company for each other when i am not home .
2018 update. Baboo is healthy. Tends to put on weight. Very lazy cat, sleeps a lot. Will come around for chin rubs and belly rubs but not too much. Mostly defers to Jemima as the boss. Does not like brushing and frequently gets hairballs so have to chase him to put the hairball jell on his paw for him to lick off. Will sit on my lap if i have newspaper on it.

TOSCHE
Hello, old friend. Yes, we are already old friend. I've never met a stranger. I will come right up to anyone and solicit attention. I love to be petted. I love to be held. I will purr as long as you pay attention to me.

TUUKKA
Very sensitive personality. Not scared but timid - will need a quiet home environment..

Notes from Home
Tuukka has made strides in the five years he has been with us. He will make eye contact, but not often. He now will sit on the sofa next to either my husband Herb or me but he is not a lap cat. I wonder what his experience was when he was a street cat. he must have been put into a plastic bag; the noise of a plastic bag rustling sends him running away. he goes to the vet annually and when we feel he acts sickly. He will get his teeth cleaned on August 7th, 2018. He gets along with another Siamese cat we adopted named Siamee or Sammy. They are the same age and will play and fight together. I would post some pictures but I am having trouble getting them on the note.

ELSA
I haven't been here at this place for long, but I am getting treated like the royalty I am. Myself and my other Princess sisters, Belle and Jasmine, came here a few days ago and are really liking it here. I like my sisters ok, but prefer to hang out with my foster Mom. I'm the sweetest, if I do say so myself, and love nothing more than to be loved and cuddled and carried around. Would love a home where I can snuggle with my favorite humans forever. If you're out there and want to hold me and love me forever, please ask about me.

Notes from Home
Elsa is the queen of the house. She is the perfect fit and we are so in love with her!

She sleeps in my bed, on my husbands pillow:) She uses the litter box, eats, plays, and struts around the house with her tail up and looking totally confident. She likes everyone and is winning over our 8 year old male cat, Roscoe. She is always around him and trying to get him to play. He does for a while, but then needs a break. They play with toys together and run and chase.

We love that she demands lots of attention and wants to be held!!!

Are we allowed to post on your facebook page? I would love to share how happy we are and a few photos. Please let me know if that is approved.

I will try to provide updates on our very loved new family member. She is everything we hoped for and think she is perfect!

Elsa is everything we were hoping for! She likes everyone and has brought so much happiness to our family. We are blessed! I will most new photos soon. Thank you for bringing her into our lives!

Tomorrow is our 8 week anniversary of getting Elsa. She is loved more every day. She has her energy runs a few times a day, where she is as fast as a bullet. She runs on the top of her cat tree and is a blur of fur. She loves to play with her toys and our older cat, Roscoe.
After a run, she enjoys several naps throughout the day. Sometimes on a bed and other times being held like a baby or under a chin. If she has been sleeping alone, she runs to me and makes cute cat sounds, leaping onto my chest to nuzzle my nose and mouth. She acts as if we haven't seen her in years. That is one of my favorite things!!!
She is perfect!

We have had Elsa since July 2 and life before her is a distant memory. She is loved by everyone, even friends that visit. She loves to be held and nuzzle faces. She makes the rounds, at night, to rub noses and snuggle. She loves to play with toys and our other cat, Roscoe. She may be named for Elsa, from the movie, Frozen, but doesn't like the fall weather. Her favorite napping place is her basket on the climbing stand or on a lap. If I am on the couch, she comes to me, looks at my lap, and waits for me to get the blanket, then crawls under, onto my lap, and goes to sleep. We are so grateful to have her in our lives!! Thank you to everyone that brought her into our family. Her foster mom Joy and family provided her with such a great start! She is better than any match we could have hoped for. We love the Siamese Rescue!!!
We have been blessed to have Elsa for four months. She is a very loved and a happy cat. Guests coming to our home are welcomed with cat kisses. She is confident, loving, active, and talkative. She is the queen of our home and we feel so blessed to have her! Thank you!!!

I cannot believe that six months have passed since Elsa joined our family. She is so loved by every member of the family. We have no complaints and think her every move is adorable. She is everything we hoped for: friendly, vocal, needy, bossy, a true Siamese personality. We consider her a loved family member, not just a pet. We are so grateful to have her in our lives. Thank you for Elsa!

What a blessing Elsa is to our family! We can't believe she has been with us one year! She is everything we hoped for: loving, talkative, bossy, and a loved member of the family. We are so grateful to the Siamese Rescue for bringing her into our lives! Thank you!!!!!!

Elsa brings us so much joy. She is everything we were looking for: loving, vocal, bossy, lap loving, and bossy. She is with me all the time. Always going into different rooms, to see what I will do next. She crawls on my lap during the evening and sleeps on the bed/and or under the covers.
She became a big sister to our new rescue puppy, Bella Bear, who is part golden/lab. They are constantly together and doing great together. Our older male cat, Roscoe, is too mature for puppy training, but Elsa is always walking under Bella or finding some way to play. Don't worry, I am always there, too, to help teach proper play.
She is loved by all members of the familty and we are forever in your debt for bringing her into our lives. Merry Christmas 2015!

I cannot believe we have had Elsa for two years! We still think of her as a baby kitten. She is small and so playful. She is loved by everyone.
This year, we adopted a golden/lab puppy and they get along great. She wants to play with the puppy and our 9 year old male cat.
Everyday, she sits on my lap and has her special time. We have a strong bond and she doesn't want to share that time with anyone. I love her so much! Thank you for bringing her into our lives.

We are coming up on our 3 year anniversary. She has been a blessing each and every day. We love her personality, she is loving, bossy, talkative and demanding. She rules the house and all in in it! Sadly, we lost our male cat to kidney failure in May. We are hoping to add another cat soon. Elsa and Bella Bear, the golden/lab mix are friends, but she misses having another cat. We can't thank you enough for letting us add her to the family!! She is loved

Elsa is a big sister! We adopted Violet from your rescue the end of August. Our male cat died in May. Elsa loves our new three month old kitten. The run and play. We are thankful to have them both!

Today is our four year anniversary! She is a dream come true! Loving, playful, and always ready for love. We are so blessed to have her in our life.

SIMON
Hi! I'm Sapphire! I was found injured in the woods by a nice lady who saw my big sparkly blue eyes peeking out from the shrubs, hence the name, Sapphire! Foster meowmy says I shine up nice! I like everything... toys, food, people... I even purred when I met the resident felines. I crave attention and I will need to go to a house with plenty of activity to keep me busy! Ask about me if you are looking for a feline-shaped shadow, because that is what I am!

Notes from Home
Sapphire - AKA "Simon" - is doing great! He's very playful and he's getting Evie involved in play. He and Evie are starting to groom one another too. Whiskers (Spike) is showing him how to use the scratching post and they are starting to spend time relaxing together and are getting along well. He really likes his human (our son Blake) and have found that Simon has a special "meow" just for Blake.

Simon uses the litter box very well and is eating and drinking well too. He decided that he prefers to drink from the top of the DrinkWell water fountain, so he removed the cover. After putting the cover back on a few times, we decided to let him have his way.

We are so happy to have Simon in our home!

MAXWELL COMET
I am a gorgeous, playful Seal, kittenish, affectionate, friendly! I am absolutely delightful company. Happiness for me is being together with you in our home.

My soft Seal fur is cuddly and almost shed free! My aqua eyes are mesmerizing. I purr like a motor, rub legs and feet, and butt with my head. Whatever you are up to, I will find a place to hang out by you, and enjoy our togetherness. I entertain myself endlessly exploring, playing, running out onto the porch, and snoozing. In spite of the traumas I have endured, I am immersed in the endless pleasures to be had in a day. My greatest joy in life is to be with you. I will go anywhere you go to be together with you.

I am just two, my health is excellent, my litter habits tidy and always appropriate.

Sometimes I play patty-cake (if I am in the mood)! I can open slider doors, and some doors with handles! I can reach into boxes with cat toys and pull them out and around! I cuddle at night in bed.

Won't you be mine? I need you, our companionship. I love you already.

Another year has gone by with Max as part of our family . He is very spoiled with us. He gets groomed every few days. This week he goes for his six month check-up and yearly dental exam. We cannot imagine life without Max in our lives. When guests visit us the first question they ask is " Where's Max?" Followed by “look what new toy we brought him!” The banana and carrot are his favorites We will be forever grateful to Siamese Rescue for bringing him to our home. Keep up the good work, knowing you make a difference in lives. Thanks to all.

MIA
Hi,
I am feeling so much better already! No fleas, my ears are clean, and the food is served in a timely manner. I hear things are only going to get better for me now. I'm with my brother Mikkel and we are great buddies at the moment. We play and snuggle together.

New pictures coming soon! I might be an all American type meezer (okay I'm a bit mixey) but I am gorgeous, smart, and don't forget I am a sassy one too.

Thanks,

Kaia

3/17-Mia still loves my iPad. She has more games she plays when she is not outside enjoying her enclosed porch. She loves the rattan sofa on the porch and makes herself very comfortable. She has a great view of the golf course and can watch the ducks and geese. We may have enclosed the porch for ourselves, but Miki and Mia get more use out of it.

7/17 - Mia loves her all season porch. The bottom is a clear plexiglass so Mia and Miki can see out, but they can't get out and nothing can get in. In the fall, we plan to add electricity so they will have heat and cool air. Mia and Miki both wear "POOFs." Fitbits for pets. It tracks their exercise, sleep, what they eat, plus they get reward points towards toys. So far they'e earned a scratching post and a large scratching ball. Mia still likes playing games on her iPad. Miki tosses balls!

7/18 - Mia is our Porch Cat. Since we had the porch enclosed she loves it. She likes to put her harness on in the morning and go for a walk around the back yard like Miki, but she is anxious to get back to her porch. I think she feels protected on the porch, plus she's a princess so she can sit on the sofa and watch the birds, squirrels and rabbits. One squirrel comes up to the glass to visit her once in awhile. The squirrel's brave because he knows she's behind the glass!
