CATNIP
normally I can be found lounging around in my shoebox but Foster Mary is refusing to repair it with duct tape. It's getting a bit "rough" around the edges. So I've had to move to the sofa. But hey it's all good. Foster Mary says she needs an excuse to buy a new pair of shoes (yeah right) so I'll be getting a new shoebox soon.
Yeah I'm a bit on the older side (to you perhaps, not too me) and I don't have those sought-after points that meezers tend to prefer. But I can talk to you like nobody's business...mostly when the food dishes have run dry.
Give me a warm home, good food, clean litterbox, and a size 9 shoebox - and I'm good.
I'd like a nice quiet home where I can continue to age gracefully (none of us can stop that process) and be a loving companion on my own terms.

Catnip VA6338

Catnip has been with us, officially, since September of 2009.
She has come a long way from the untrusting scared 2x return meezer.
She now plays with our German Shepherd dog laying on her back and batting at the dog's face. It's become quite the game. Catnip will eventually tire of the slobbering beast, hiss at her and take off but it shows she has come to learn the dog is not going to hurt her.
We recently installed laminate flooring in the master bedroom and Catnip has discovered it's a great spot to bat toys around. Lots of noise and great sliding! Problem is this has become a 5am occurrence - but she's having fun and getting some much-needed exercise. And at 12 years of age it shows she has quite a playful side.
There is nothing funnier than watching her race up and down our hallway chasing something imaginary. Now and then my 14 year old Siamese will join in the chasing and then it becomes a game of butt tag. I love watching them enjoy themselves. Enjoying playing with each other.
Catnip is mostly captived with my husband and settles on his lap as soon as he sits down. If she can't get on his lap she lays against his leg, with a paw thrown over the remote, seeming to know that eventually he's going to reach for the remote and then she'll have his attention.
She's been a great addition to the menagerie and I am very happy we decided to offer her a forever home, a final stopping place.

MYSTIC
I am Prince Mystic. I am Royalty. I am in need of one or two trusted domestic servants. My needs are many. I have my preferences on what I eat, and where I sleep. I do not sleep at your foot. It is beneath my rank. You may sleep at my head, but not above it. My servant(s) should cater to my every whim. They are required to bring me meals, clean up after me, pet and brush me and shower me with adoration. Your compensation is I will provide you with room and board (you must make your own meals) and my loyalty for a lifetime. Humans with Siamese experience may inquire about these positions.

Notes from Home
Mystic is a weird cat. He fits right in here! He is afraid of open spaces having been in a cage for 6 years. But he doesn't like tight spaces either. He has trouble with his eyesight. His eyes are honeycombed and hence more light comes in than ordinary. So he freaks in sunlight, at strangers, at noises. He yeowls and splay his legs out and you have to hold on for the duration. He loves love loves his quilt to hid under, his lanai, his window, his water ( added trace minerals and his fur is beautiful), He is such a good boy. He does not cry or fuss, just wants to play with his mouse( drop it in the water bowl)and he kneeds- all the time, even standing - he has one paw in the air kneeding away. He loves to head butt and sit basically in your face. He never stays still unless I tightly wrap him in a blanket. Then he will sit still for about an hour in my lap.
He is doing better health wise- he had a bout of IBS but seems to be under control with pro- biotics and digestive enzymes.

ZOEY
I was tossed aside because I was too vocal. Can you believe that!!! Siamese Are suspose to talk. Actually Foster Mom doesn't think I talk that much. Maybe because I just have to kiss her hand over and over again. For getting me out of the shelter. I love to lick and headbump and headbump and Lick. I am digging the new toys her too! That wand toy WOW Sure is fun. So ask about me and I will lick your hand over and over again in thanks!

Notes from Home
After one month our Harley is getting used to the new cat in the house (see photo). Zoey loves to play. She will carry the feather toy or sparkly wand around the house. She has been crawling into bed with us every night, sometimes even under the covers. Oh, and she's a digger! If her litter box was a doorway to China she'd be halfway there! Did I say Zoey loves to lick? Whenever she is petted or massaged she licks your hand or your wrist or your arm or... you get the picture. We just love her to pieces and are glad she joined our family.

Zoey is truly part of the family. She continues to be a digger in the litterbox just as she was was in foster care. She has made friends with our other Meezer. The new photo shows a closeness but that is the exception rather than the rule. I am so -o -o glad we have her.

LILY
Happy Holidays everyone. My brother, Navidad and I just arrived at Foster Mom's house Just in time for Christmas. SURE glad we didn't have to stay in that cold steel cage for Christmas. But Santa came early and got us so we could Get ready to go to our very own Furever home. We are very tiny babies and don't like to be alone so Navidad and I sure want to go home together!
Gotta go just saw that pretty Christmas tree I bet that will be loads of fun for climbing. As soon as Foster Mom isn't looking I am going to get one of those Shiny balls I see down to roll around but don't tell on us. Come on Navidad I will give you a boost.
Oh yea almost forgot my job- if you want two bundles of joy click on ask about me so we can come to your house

Noelle (now Lily) is our little tester. She is the curious one, running from things that have "fallen" and pops up in the strangest places. Lily doesn't have a problem keeping Paxti in line, even though she is outweighed. A bit more standoffish than her brother, she is the observer. Prefers to sleep all day and play at night while we try to sleep!

SASHA
Hi folks,

I was lost, and taken in by a Good Samaritan, who took very good care of me. I arrived at my foster Mama Rosa's house last night. I have all my things with me, my toys, blankets, foods. So, I'm feeling quite comfortable already.
I decided it is alright to purr, headbutt, jump on the bed and give Mama my belly.
I'm small, dark and lovely, and I want to be your baby!

UPDATE: 7/3/09

I'm a good natured girl. And I've got a special feature now:
I LOVE TO SHAKE MY TAIL FEATHERS!

It's just how I roll...

UPDATE: 7/16/09

i need a quiet home, so I can relax. Right now, with all the humans and cats around here, I'm sleeping with one eye open!
I could have a cat roommate or two, but the kind of felines that would ignore me, and not make me uncomfortable. I would not like BULLIES!

Notes from Home
Dear Siamese Rescue,

Sasha has become a real companion, especially to me. She relates very well
to John but sleeps much of the day on the couch or upstairs on my side of
the bed.

Mama Rosa read her exactly. She's a people cat not a cats' cat. She
intermingles very well but does not fraternize with the other cats.

She's very playful but primarily with me (as was our Seal Point in the past
and in just the same manner). She'll take off on the run looking over her
shoulder and if I follow she dashes all over and then hides and when I
approach her hiding place she's off again. She also likes to play peek-a-boo
from the top of the stairs. As for toys the knitted fish are her favorites
and she LOVES catnip.

She's very fastidious. When I go out to take care of the litter boxes she
comes and sits and waits until they're all clean with fresh litter then she
uses one.

Although she's very independent she is also a bundle of affection. She's a
purr machine. She sleeps touching me and if I stir she starts to purr and
speaks. She rolls over on her back anywhere any place now to have a tummy
rub. She's a head butter, a kitty kisser, an arm nibbler and loves her face
rubbed.

When I'm at home she shadows me. I go up and down the stairs a lot and with
her short legs it's a chore for her to follow but she does. In the evening
she is either on the couch next to me, or with her head on my hand or knee
or in my lap depending what works for me. In the computer room she's taken
up resting in a corner where she can doze but still see me if I leave so she
won't be left behind.

She looks out on the porch and sees the sun and is sure it's warm out there
but when we let her out she dashes back in. She was a Fl. gal I guess and
really does not like the cold. We have a security system and when it is
pleasant and we open the porch door the system says, "the back door is open"
and the animals know what that means and they come running!

She seems very happy. She has a great range of communication skills: she
quacks, chirps, burbles, and once in awhile (if her eating schedule is
disrupted) gives a real Siamese meow. She also employs lots of body
language. She chats a lot particularly right after I get home from work as
if she's updating me on the day's events.

We respect her independence but she is not lonely, she asks for and gets
lots of loving attention,

It took her awhile to really believe this was not just another transition.
Apparently she cried all the way from Florida to Savannah. She certainly
cried all the way from Savannah home. Once isolated, she cried constantly. D'Art
was so mellow when he arrived and settled into his isolation period in a
very relaxed manner. His two weeks were up but the turmoil that was going on
was starting to erode his confidence so after a week of upset (I understand
I did not abide by the rules) I cracked both doors and just let them decide
when they were ready to meet each other and slowly they did. She was still
angry for awhile, she obviously had to make a number of adjustments in her
short 7 years and this was just another one. Gradually as she felt more
secure she settled down and became the cat I described above. To this day
she does not like the bedroom she was isolated in and rarely goes in there.

She is a sweetheart and I thank Ronnie (our original Seal Point) for
developing in us such an attraction to Meezers. Ours give us great pleasure.

Every one of you folks who volunteer your time to this worthy cause are to
be applauded.

We applaud you, D'Aart. applauds you, Tilly our older cat applauds you for
providing her with a best friend, and yes Sasha applauds you. She knows that
despite all the trauma in her past, she's home for good now and she can
relax and truly enjoy it. It also gives us a chance to enjoy her.

- Karen Hoad

SEBASTIAN
Just arrived. More information soon, but here is what I've shared with fostermom. I do love people. I have been around an older child before and a big dog who was nice to me. Even though I don't understand what has happened to my home, I'm glad to cuddle in fostermom's lap and be comforted. I have already visited the vet for my wellness exam and I am a very healthy boy. Yes, I have noticed that I have a full, soft, gorgeous long coat. I can't help but be proud of my handsome looks. Some cats got it and some don't! I will have some beautiful pictures up very soon.

Notes from Home
Sebastian-Oliver is doing great! After arriving at his new home last Saturday, he was very timid and scared for about 2 hours and after enticing him with a treat he started coming out of his shell. He slept in my bed the first night! He has been eating, drinking, and haurinating and having normal bowel movements since the first night of arriving. We have been playing and bonding the past 2 days.

Thanks to all of the volunteers at Siamese Rescue. I have a pet that I really love. As I have told Willene, the organization seems to be a real top notch program that puts the animals interest at heart. That's what I like about it.

I will give further updates and pics soon. Tony

CHAI LAN
Hi everybody! My name is Ya-Chai, which means 'sweetheart' in Thai. And while fostermommy will undoubtedly find something clever to write about me in the next couple days -- the fact that I'm 'Ya-Chai' is ALLLLLL you really need to know :-)

Chai is a wonderful cat! She is curious, loving, and smart. She has taken over one of my daughter's webkinz -- a cat -- and plays with it constantly. She throws it around, carries it from room to room, and just loves it. She also loves climbing the "cat condo" and doing acrobatics on it! Thanks to Belinda for being such a great foster mom, to Joan for getting Chai to us via Meezer Express, and to everyone else who helped Chai become part of our family!

D'ARTAGNAN
I've settled in here and found a nice sunny spot. That's pretty much all I want right now - some peace and quiet, a patch of sun and some regular food. I don't think I like aggressive cats, and I'm trying to figure out the woofer, but other than that - I'm all good.

Would you like a cat that purrs and just hangs out? I'm really quiet and I may or may not greet you (food will ensure that I greet you, btw), but I'll hang out with you if you let me. Email foster meowm for more info!

Notes from Home
Dear Siamese Rescue -

D'Artagnan is wonderful. He's smart, he's funny, and of course he's gorgeous
and we adore him. He's linked up with the cat we already had - an American
Shorthair. They sleep together, groom each other and play together. He
relates to both of us equally. He and Tilly (the older cat like to sleep as
close to John's pillow as possible and they wait for him to go to bed at
night. D'Art. tends to be a bit mischievous and tucks his precious mice in
our shoes. They and the wands are his favorite toys. He loves the mat that
was in his carrier when he arrived and sleeps on it. He also favors a chair
in the family and of course it is now "his" chair. He sleeps on shelves and
counters as well as he likes heights. Perhaps trees were once his "safe
place." Once in awhile he jumps on an available chest while we are sleeping
and with his 18 lbs. it's a bit of a jolt. His curiosity is never-ending, if
he can't get in a cabinet, a drawer or through a door one way he'll keep
trying until he succeeds. He's a great communicator. One of the endearing
characteristics of Darty Darlin' is that this monster cat has a mew of a
kitten. When he looks up with that big round beautiful face and big blue
eyes and mews he gets anything he wants. That mew goes with his sweetness.
If he sounds spoiled he is but he doesn't abuse our weaknesses.

His latrine habits are impeccable. I'm sure that's thanks to Jeannie and the
wonderful work she did with him when he was with her. He also passed all
his medical requirements at the Vet.

He and the other Kitty we received from the Siamese Rescue, Shasha get along
fine. They've become adjusted to each other and intermingle regularly but
his relationship to her is not as close as he and the older cat. I think he's
the kitten she never had.

They all miss their hours on the porch. They do like the fireplace and
sprawl in front of it but I know they'll be thrilled when they can go out
again.

D'Art. brings us joy every day and we do so appreciate your work. So thank
you, thank you very much.

Jeff who will be 15, Pepe who is 10, Lilly who is 5 then out Finnie boy. We adopted a grey kitten named Teddy who is now one and I took in a Lynx Meezer girl who was left behind when her families home was forclosed and we named her Melissa. She is a sweet girl who was already fixed. After taking her to the vet to be checked out and get her shots she now is a part of our 6 cat family. Not to mention Finn has a thing for Melissa and Melissa just loves Finn. Finn is such a lover boy he gets along with all his furry friends even our 4 year old Husky Sashi.
