Notes from Home
Haida is a funny, playful 4 and a half year old kitten. Her agility is amazing - roars around the house as fast as she can go. I should have named her Roary Paws!!! She will sit on my lap for just a few minutes, but will sit for much longer when being brushed with that marvelous rubber wide toothed brush. I love this little torti to bits!!
I have renamed Haida, Cocoa Bean!! That is who she is, and what a little character she is turning into!! Amazing at the age of 4 and 1/2 how playful and energetic she is! She is not a lap sitter, but will sit on my lap to be brushed with that wonderful rubber toothed brush from the Rescue. That she enjoys immensely. She loves to play hide in the bathtub, then shoot out, take an 8 ft. leap onto the bed, bounce across it and leap to the floor to zoom back into the tub and start all over again. Fun!!! She has certainly brought life to this house!! Cocoa Bean does sleep with me and as time goes by, she is getting closer and closer to my head and lets me hug her. I think she is very intelligent, and has learned the rules of the house very quickly - mainly not getting up on the stove (danger) and/or the kitchen counters. Other than that, she has the rest of the house to explore and play in.
I am so very glad that Cocoa Bean has come to me, she seems sent straight from heaven.
My name has been changed to Cocoa Bean - - about 1 month after I came to my forever home, my wonderful fun antics caused Meowm to start calling me jumping Bean, but that didn't suit either and because of my coloring I ended up Cocoa Bean.
My favorite thing to do here, is race as fast as my legs and feet will go, and then leap up onto the bed, take two more flying leaps, jump to the floor and race all around upstairs and then as fast as I can go, head downstairs. Meowm keeps telling me that one day she thinks I'm going to crash into a wall - - but I assure her that I really won't.
Meowm also calls me her clown cat - apparently my back legs seem to do a dance when I race - she ends up laughing. My other favorite game is to race as fast as possible across the kitchen floor and land on my wonderful carpeted tunnel - - - - it slides and I go with it. Meowm says she thinks I could ride a surf board and I bet I could!!!
I'm still eating my Wilderness Salmon food that I love, and my weight at my yearly check up was 10 and 1/2 lbs., so I have just put on about 1/2 lb. in the past year, and lovely Dr. Nancy Handley says I am the purrfect size. She is surprised that at my age (don't tell anyone) 5 years old, that I am still so kittenish - I think I will always be this way - - it's fun!!
Meowm also thinks I am the smartest pussy cat that she has ever had, and she has had cats all her life - but never a Siamese - so she thinks that explains my cleverness. Oh yes, I also like to play hide and seek!! What a grand time we have!!! I hide, then Meowm hides, then I come flying out and find her and scare the dickens out of her!!!
I like to sit on her lap for a little while - maybe 3 - 5 minutes - - last year I would only stay for a few seconds. When Mewom is really good I give her a few kisses and twice little love nibbles - - but that's only when she has been really really good.
Meowm says she is so very glad that I waited for her to come and get me and bring me to this safe and happy home. She says life wouldn't be the same without me here to talk to her and greet her at the door, and when the doorbell rings to run and make sure that who is there is OK to open the door to. I like to say hello to all our visitors and check them out.
Well, I could go on and on, but I think from this email that you can see that I am happy as a lark here, and there are lots of birds and squirrels to watch out the doors and windows. There is a cat that lives next door who comes to visit once in awhile and I have to keep a sharp eye out for him - - he is not allowed on my property!!
I hope all the dear pussy cats that are waiting for forever homes, find one like I did. That would make me very happy.
Give Siri my very best wishes (but I'm so glad I'm not still there), and anyone else who might have known me in my past life. And thank you for all you did for me.
With purrs and meows, (happy ones)

Cocoa Bean S
Hi Siamese Rescue,
My name for the past 4 years has been and still is, Cocoa Bean. My Meowm thinks I am so active, really like a jumping bean, that Cocoa Bean (my color) suited me better.
Can't believe that I am 9 years old (young) now, and my wonderful doctor is also amazed at how energetic and playful I am. It is such fun to roar around the house, making my usually quiet feet as noisy and thumpy as I can!
So - - - thank goodness you all found me and took me in, and that my Meowm came and brought me home so that I am so very safe and so very loved and I love her and the interesting and fun people that come to visit me.
Have a good and happy year,
Cocoa Bean Simmel
Hi Kathi,
Thank you for the birthday wishes! Can't believe that I'm 10 years old and have been at my forever home
for 5 years now. Time does fly, and so do I every so often in my home and I know every nick and cranny
and the hairpin turns that Meowm thinks I still might knock myself silly or break a leg - - but - - I'm Siamese
and as you know we are the most agile of all the felines. So it is fun to thump around and sound like an
elephant upstairs when everyone know I'm as light on my 4 feet as a butterfly when I want to be!
I'm very glad and happy that I chose my Meowm and this home - it has been wonderful, and I have found
tricks to get Meowm out of bed EARLY in the morning when my food bowl is empty. but I think my
person has caught on and now makes sure there is enough food for me for all night before she goes to bed.
We hope that all is well at the Siamese center. What a life saver it is for so many of us lost or orphaned four
footed fur friends.
Wendy (Meowm) and Cocoa Bean. Puuurrrs and chirps.

Not sure how I ended up at a shelter, but then found my way to Siamese Rescue. I am all settled in and have become quite a love bug. Just had bloodwork done and all is Aok. I am on a diet and slowly losing some of the "extra"weight that foster mom says I don't need. Getting along fine with the other kitties but would be ok being an only cat, too. I am playful and affectionate.

It has been one month since Miss Sassy arrived and what a wonderful month it has been! Sassy is the most delightful and loving little friend and companion. She seems to have known right from the beginning that this is her forever home and she immediately adapted (well, maybe assumed command better describes it!). I just love her!

She has made friends with my family and especially loves her new grandmother in Yorktown! My mom fell in love with her, too.

I cannot thank the Siamese Rescue Center enough for the great work they do in rescuing these marvelous creatures and caring for them so well until their adoptive parents take them home. It was evident that Sassy had been lovingly cared for by her foster mom, and I was grateful for the detailed instructions she gave me when I took Sassy home. You folks are terrific!!! Thank you for all you do. Sassy and I both send you our love!

And I'm just about back! It's been a long road and not an easy one, but I'm feeling better every day! And now I'm starting to explore and I keep climbing in bed with that Chennai, so Aunt Siri said she'd try to find us a home together to start. I've got some learning to do but I can do it, really!

Not enough room for all the good things I have to say. What a little charmer this guy has turned out to be. He is affectionate, puts his belly right up to be scratched, lays with and grooms the other two as they do him. He does sometimes give Houdini a swat and run around, which is good for Houdini because he is older and somewhat lazier. He does like to eat his own food and then sees what every one else is having. This has been fine since we seem to have a round robin eating with everyone checking out everyone else's dish. We so love this little guy. He fits in perfectly. Vangie was right again when she told me years ago, "choose the one that speaks to you" and Pattaya spoke loud and clear from the first time I saw his video.
Thank you for all the help you gave. Keep up the good work, it works!

9/23/16 After the death of Twist, two months ago and Houdini almost a year ago, Pattaya is still doing well but obviously grieved the lost as I did. He is still a great little character, becoming more and more loving. He had gained more weight then we would have liked, but I think that had to do more about her original living space. He is back to being very comfortable and spends a lot of time next to me. He caught a mouse in my kitchen two weeks ago and after killing it put it in my bed and waited for me to wake up. What a very nice gift!!

I'm making slow progress toward being brave. Life wasn't always kind to me so I tend to wonder if good things are coming with a touch. I show mom my elevator butt every day now so she knows I like some attention. Maybe soon I will quit hiding in my beddies.

Twist is perfect. After all these years she still won't let me pick her up but she sleeps with next to me every night , always on me while watching TV and she and her brother are always grooming each other. and laying next to each other. A very healthy and happy kitty!!! I love her dearly.
(6th Anniversary 3/24/14)

7years - OMG- Well after all this time she still will not let me pick her up but she is the first one every night laying next to me in bed and usually under the covers. She is affectionate, and beautiful and in very good health. She loves laying in the sun on the windowsill. She and the other two get along fine. And they all groom each other. But no one who comes in the house ever sees her because she runs and hides.
Very sadly, we had to put Twist to sleep in June. After Houdini died several months earlier she took over his place in he house. She and Pattaya were very close, often sleeping next to each other .It broke my heart to lose Twist. She was my second adoptee. She started to lose weight but the vet couldn't find anything wrong after a lot of testing. Then the seizures started.. I wanted to adopt another right away, but I felt that Pattaya needed time just like I did. But I think we are ready to add to our family again. Pattaya is very settled. and so am I

Hi there my foster pops says Im a handsome seal point snow shoe with an adorable tail that looks like it's been dipped in white paint. He says I'm a wonderful boy who should be ready to go home after Mid-September.

It sure would be nice to have a home of my own with a couple of fellow felines to play with and a human or two who would love me enough to keep me around. Could that be you, wonderful you? I can now play with foster pops cat Tony and & foster pops other 3 feline friends.

Foster Pops says I am an intelligent, agile, and strong cat. I wonder what that means. He also says that I could be called his "roadrunner" due to the way I sometimes race around the house.

Anyone out there with great rescue experience looking for a long-term project? Ok, I know that's not what you wanted to hear about this young, gorgeous seal girl, but it's true. She came from a home with 53 other cats/kittens, and she just wasn't properly socialized. Sheba is very comfortable with other cats, but needs a lot of help on her people skills. Some of our cats are move-in ready, but if you're looking for a fixer upper, let's chat.

Chicory is doing really well in her home. She grows more confident, playful, and content with each passing day. Right now, she has the run of a home office, a hall, and a bathroom. Our other cats (Brut and Coconut) stop by to visit her through the baby gates that mark Chicory's safe area. Chicory will likely be ready to explore the rest of the house soon! We uploaded two recent photos of Chicory. I hope they come through!

July 10, 2016: It's hard to believe that it's been five months since Chicory joined our family. She continues to do well. Chicory is now confident to wander about most of the house. She's also become much more comfortable around people. Chicory generally comes out to greet new people on their first visit these days. A recent photo of Chicory relaxing on one of the cat trees outside of her original safe area is included.

September 23, 2016: Chicory is doing great! I just uploaded a photo of her and Brut snuggling in a Millie bed!

Notes from Home
Cocoa (previously known as Erika) literally had a zero adjustment period. She slept on my shoulder cuddled into my neck on her first night home. She has the run of the house and its incredible to watch her discover new things. She is constantly amazed at what she sees looking out the window from her perch. My daughter and I are completely in love with her. She had a wonderful first visit to vet - everyone in the office fell in love with her. She went into the baby scale as soon as the doctor said - now I'm going to weight you. Very intelligent kitten. Then she proceeded to sit in the vet's lap. very sweet, lovable, and playful. We are all so happy!

Update: Cocoa continues to be a delight! She is a sweet, funny, and playful baby. She just jumped up on the computer keyboard when she saw her pictures to help with this update. She loves people and her food (both cat and people food). We are truly fortunate to have her as part of our family and we think she feels the same!

Update: New pictures from Cocoa's 1st Birthday party!

Coconut Chanel (for the glorious and always fashionably correct Coco Chanel) Juniper (for her eyes as blue as juniper berries) Meringue (granddaughter Katherine's description of her incredibly beautiful fur coat) - nickname Cocoa - continues to amaze us and further entrench herself into our hearts and enrich our souls. We cannot imagine living our lives as fully without her. Not only has she won the hearts of our extended family who visit our home frequently, as well as our friends and neighbors, but she has managed to convert the occasional diehard "dog person" (notably my daughter-in-law) who has had the pleasure to meet her into a "cat person". She is sweet, charming, gorgeous, smart, personable, intuitive, playful (loves to push objects from tables and counters when not getting what she considers the proper amount of attention) and a great athlete as well. I remain eternally grateful to the Siamese Cat Rescue Center for allowing us to welcome Cocoa into our home, and to that good Samaritan who rescued her from the side of the road in Virginia!!

Do you have a home that is not scary? I am the perfect little gal for someone who loves to nurture and is okay with taking things slowly. I am going to pose for some new pictures so I don't look so scared. This B and B isn't so bad. I get treats on my pillow every night.
Notes from Home
Missy is an amazing little girl. She has been with us for 4 days and she has made leaps and bounds. She hasn't come out of her bed to greet me but if I pet her head and run my hand down her back or side I get a large arch. I stop petting, offer my head and tell her it's okay to come on out. She comes out, she will eat in front of me, she has come nose to nose with me 3 times and leaves quickly. She uses her scratching pad while I'm in the room with her. She purrs a storm and does call out to us (or someone) when we are not in the room with her. She is eating moist and kibbles, good use of the liter box. She grooms in front of us and her coat is being to look and feel better. She is still frightened but has made huge steps. We are so pleased with her and her progress. I can't wait for the day she strolls around the house like a boss!!

7.2.16: Six days with us...Missy is very sweet and seems to enjoy company. She is always a little startled then will offer kisses. I have been sleeping with her but it doesn't appear either of us get much rest. She eats often, has walked over me on two different occasions. She still enjoys pets with elevated rump and high arches. When she thinks I'm asleep she sniffs all around my face, hair, arms knees and feet. Her very long whiskers tickle but it makes me happy she has interest to do so. Ron layed with her yesterday, head positioned elevated in her bed and arm wrapped around her backside. She eventually scooted closer until her head was under his and she pushed as hard/close she could and fell deep asleep. We have to drape a cover as a canapy over her bed or she searches (and usually) finds away under the bed. We are hoping this time all access to under the bed has been blocked. So far she has been better at finding a way in then we have to block it. Seal Point 3/ humans 0. She is a sweet soul who is resilient, a true Seal personality but she doesn't like to be alone at night. If she is alone she cries until someone joins her. She is very quiet during the day.

July 5, 2016. So much progress. This sweet girl wants so much to be loved and to have company. I had to restart this because she decided she wanted to groom herself off the bed and on the floor. Then she kept looking at me so I patted the bed and called her. I meowed several times then she chirped and jump right up next to me rubbing affectionately. She walked across my lap several times then flopped (yesss flopped by me) and hasn't stopped touching me since. Big time grooming with at least one paw on my leg at all times. Currently she has all four paws pressed tight against me. She enjoys being combed, lets me rub her paws and belly. She just fell asleep with 4 paws on my leg and her nose almost touching. She has met our boys, she is very interested in Romeo our 9 yr old. She is intimidating towards Max our 8 month old kitten. No true aggression, we now let the boys come in the room with us as a family when we spend time with Miss. I have slept in the room with her the last couple of nights. She rests now rather than stand on watch. She now looks out the windows instead of hiding from them and the light. She has started playing with me and just tonight lost herself in the game. Attacking and pouncing on the string. She is sweet inside and out and we love her. We are so proud of her progress. I tell her daily that she is not a scaredy cat but one of the bravest girls I know. She is, someone harmed this precious child and it took great courage to trust again. Siri, Dorcey and Julie thank you for allowing this precious soul to grace our home.

7.8.16-Vet meet and greet. Missy must be happy as she gained a 1 1/2 pounds since she came to live with us. She is now a whooping 7 lbs. Vet visit went great although when we carried Missy out of our house (in the carrier) she cried the most heart wrenching meow that it brought tears to my eyes. She quivered the entire ride over and of course was very frightened. After the exam, she returned to the carrier and calmed right down. She knew she was coming home!
She is in great condition and Todd looked at her eyes carefully and told us they eyeball was great and the redness was from the herpes virus. Good news there. She is back in her favorite bed right now grooming herself. She is home, she knows she is home and she is happy! :)

July 20,2016-24 days with us and this brave keeps growing stronger. She comes to the kitchen and eats with the boys. Her liter box is now at the other end of the house in the laundry room. She sleeps with us every night. She and Romeo are working and making small steps forward. Max our kitten likes to play and pounces on her. She's not really enjoying this and usually a stern look sends Max scampering. She's still frightened of loud noises, helicopters, airplanes and thunderstorms. She strolls throughout the house and gazes out the windows in almost bewilderment. She enjoys the light now and sunshine. She doesn't hang with us in the living room but is slowly getting closer. She hangs about 10 feet away but she's out with us and not hiding in "her" room. She meows now and just this morning at 4 am she got the most vocal so far. She almost bellowed. She's small, very petite, sweet and loving. She's still fragile but I know one day she will regain that Meezer strength. She comes to me when I call her, she loves to be petted, whispered to and head kisses. Haven't broken through the being carried but I'm treading very slowly on that as I don't want her to doubt the trust she placed in us. Still waiting on a head it! I love the picture I took of her this morning, little Missy at the large sliding doors. She confidently walked through the living room to those doors, gazed out then upwards to the sky. It makes us so joyful she isn't living in a cage anymoređź’—

8.3.16- What a little treasure she is and our family dynamics keep changing. :) Missy wants to be friends with Romeo (9 yrs) but he flees like he just saw the devil. Max (9 mos) wants Missy and she hisses and bats until he sulks away but I think that is manly because he plays rough like a boy and she probably simply feels attacked. He is now afraid of her but keeps trying anyway. Relentless little critter, I think he will eventually break through and she will realize he just wants to play and run around We are working on that with yum yums (aka whipped cream treat that all three eat together in a close circle). They get a quarter sized squirt and all three come running when I shake the can. :D Missy still sleeps at the foot of he bed but plays footsie with us all night long. She spends more time in the rooms we are in, has finally jumped up on the couch and likes to hang with us there. She still has issues with being picked up but I pick her up several times a day for a very short period and softly put her down. She is getting calmer about being carried especially if I softly talk to her or kiss her on the head. I set her on my lap and she absolutely whimpered the first time so obvious there have been unpleasant experiences in someone's lap. I now pick her up daily and sit with her in my lap. She at first left immediately but now she stays for a minute or so. We continually reinforce the good experiences of being touched and held. She's going to be an awesome loving lap cat one day. I just know it! We just love her and are so amazed and proud of her progress.
9.21.2016 "I am Missy! I am smart. I am beautiful. I am special and I am loved. The those who captured me, tortured me, abused me and caged me for three years, Kiss My Grits! I'm in a real forever home and I discovered today that I really like lying in the sunshine. I love my peeps and am working on loving my bothers. I am somebody! I am special.

Notes from Home
Hi, Murphy is home for 1 week today and is the cutest terror kittenzilla I have ever loved. After 7 days he is learning the word "no", not happily and with much under his breath grumbling about the unfairness of it all. He also has the most interesting post poop run. I've not seen it done with quite this much "flying" through the air like superman with paws stretched full out. All thats missing is a cape. Till next time. Happy tails!!!!

After 2 weeks Murphy has grown a lot. He's getting fluffier and chubbier. Every day he manages to slip, slide, roll, run and fall off the bed while playing lol. He is learning manners, reluctantly.

Murphy is definitely feeling quite at home now. He thinks he pays the rent and doesn't hesitate to take whateveriberties he thinks he deserves. For example, I turned my head for less than 1minute and when I turned back all I saw sticking out of the bottom refridgerater shelf was a fat fluffy kitten tail. Yep, baaaad to the bone this one, butove every minute.

Murphy is getting so big, but he's still a little thing compared to his sister. He's learned manners, now its a matter of getting him to use them!! Daisy simply refuses to play with him when he gets carried away and then he wanders around crying like the baby he still is. She will ignore him, so he comes crying to me and I feel bad. Second fiddle or not I play with him while Daisy shakes her head in disgust at my weakness. But really, how can I resist? Murphy Spoiled? Nahhh.

I know I just posted something, but this was too ridiculous to pass up. One of those "wish I had a video" monents. Murphy, oh so gracelessly fell out of my huge triple window, tumbling through the curtai on his head, crashed into and knicked over a lamp and bounced off the table onto the chair where he stood looking like "huh?!!" I looked at him and said "I can't believe you did that". He looked back as if to say 'niether do I'

6 months later 3/21/14 Murphy is huge lol, you would not recognize this chubby fluff monster. He still thinks he weighs nothing and is a tiny thing because every morning he climbs on my chest to purr and be kissed. Can we say mommy's boy? He is such a sweet sweet boy. Talks all the time, to me, his sister (who usually pretends to ignore him) and to himself.
The wand toy is still his fave and must play with it every day or he goes in a corner to cry woe is me. Recently he discovered water sports by way of tossing his toy mouse in the water dish to watch it float (see attached pic). Every day he makes me laugh, annoys his sister, talks to anyone or anything outside the window and is absolutely adorable. As mischievous as he is he isn't bad at all. He doesn't get into trouble, just playful. Daisy pretends not to be interested but loooooooooves playing with him and bossing him around.
I'm so happy with him and so is Daisy.
I've attached a bunch of pics, including an embarrassing one where he stuck his head in the tissue box!
Thanks to all of you for my love of a cat!

Hi, its 5/16/16 and Chubbs and Daisy are now living the high life in Las Vegas. We have a huge apartment and get to run, run run! The tile floors are a bit slippery so chubbs' tush slides 1 way as his front runs the other and he merps along whenever he runs. He is such a lovebug and so so sweet. Still plays like a baby even though he's almost 3.

Its our 3 yr anniversary and Chubbs is doing great. He's a champion red dot hunter and is such a sweet boy. He's a joy and makes me smile every day.

This cat is not suitable for children under the age of 5 (ie 5 and over is OK). This is typically a cat that is shy and a child might scare it, or one that has a potential to bite or play too hardNot with kids under 5
This cat will not tolerate any other cats in the home. A dog may still be a possibility though.Must be Only Cat
Let me tell you a little about myself:

- I'm very intelligent and since I believe I'm much more intelligent than the average human, I also insist on doing things my way.

- I'm very independent. That means that I'm not a clingy or needy cat. Don't get me wrong, I love attention, can be very affectionate - even possessive of my human, and I do enjoy laps - but on my own terms and timing.

- Because I'm so intelligent, I also have a very strong purrsonality which can be a bit overwhelming at times. I've heard Foster Meowm use the word 'tortitude' to describe me quite a bit. Hey, I just know what I want, when I want.

So what do I need in an adopter ? Well mainly they'll need to be very confident, experienced and cat-savy, Someone who will appreciate all the qualities that make me what I am . I know the right adopter is out there somewhere, is it you ?
Notes from Home
Charmee met Dr. McCann yesterday. He and the ladies were very impressed by how pretty she is and how well-behaved.
Charmee loves chasing the cat faeries up and down the hall and seems to enjoy the noisy toys better than the quiet ones.
She's slept with me every night since she came home.
I love this cat and could not be happier to have her in my life. She makes me laugh every day and what a blessing that is.

Mom says I'm the best cat ever. Well, of course I am, but I'm glad she realizes it. She says I've helped her through some hard times lately and that's a good thing.
I love noisy toys, but Mom doesn't seem to understand that everything is a cat toy. I'm trying to train her, but you know how humans are.
I'm very glad that I picked this human to take me home.
There is no way to explain how much Charmee means to me. She's been a delight from day one. If this is "tortitude," it's the best! When I came home from my last visit with Mom, Charmee curled up on my shoulder, put her head on my cheek and purred me to sleep. She always seems to know when I need that extra snuggling.
She's snoopervised the plumber and the dry wall guy and my neighbor, who's a dog person, told me that she'd get a cat, if she could get one just like Charmee. Well, she can't, because she's all mine!

She's slept with me every night since she arrived. Sometimes at the foot of the bed and sometimes right beside me purring and purring. Just knowing that she's here brings me joy.

I could not be happier.

It's Charmee's Gotcha Day 2014 and it's a definite celebration. She continues to "save" me by just being herself. She makes me laugh every day. I took a picture of her this morning which I'll post, so you can see that she's still a beauty.

2015. Another wonderful year with my Charmee. She continues to delight me and every one she meets.
She strolled right in to the carrier for her annual physical and I've never had a cat do that before. Of course, she was happier to get out when we got back home!

As you can see from her new picture, she enjoys keeping up with all the latest happenings via the daily newspaper.

Charmee and I are definitely a "bonded pair" and I couldn't be happier about that.

2016. Three years. Sometimes it seems like forever and sometimes like it's only been a minute. Charmee is a joy and I couldn't be happier that she came home with me.
She even lets me trim her claws!
