BOSLEY
Y'all got to be REALLY careful of those dark, silent types. One day loose in Group Living here at the Center and what did I do? Hopped into bed with the prettiest gal I could find! Hey! It was her first day loose as well, and, well, I guess you could say we got loose together! So now that we are acquainted, she tells me she's already got a home. Great. The gal of my dreams and she's already promised to someone. Well phooey. Alright, so that means that I need a home, but here's my requirement - must have a cute, easy, floozy female who will hop right into bed with me, because obviously, life ain't so scary when you're in LOVE :) (I'm the one in front)

Notes from Home
Bosley (and as I like to call him from time to time "Mr. Lovekins") was almost adopted out to someone else. He was a very timid cat and needed someone that understood that. I can honestly tell you that he is the most lovable cat that I have ever owned. I was worried at first that my other "child", Trudy would not be as accepting; however it did take quite a bit time, but she has warmed up to him and they get along good. Bosley knows that she is the boss, true to her name, and he seems to be ok with that.

TRUDY
Hi, my name is Trudy, and I know I don't look like a real meezer like some of my cousins on these pages, but Geez , is it my fault that my mother was a hussie and got involved with a guy beneath her class ????

I did inherit her beautiful blue eyes, though and before I got separated from her she did teach me to be a good kitty. I always use my litter box, keep myself really clean, and give plenty of purrs and head butts. I also love to play with my toys and sit in the sun.
If you look at all my pictures, you can see how I've changed in the year I am here. (Torties do that you know) I am getting so unhappy not having a real home of my own. It's nice here, but it isn't mine. I keep looking out the window to see if you are coming for me.

Do you have a sunny window that you would like to fill with a sweet little tortie girl like me? I just know you're out there so please hit the "ask about me button", and meowm will tell you all you want to know.

Purrs & Headbutts,
Trudy

True attitude...and I love it. I adopted Bosley about a month after adopting Trudy. It took awhile for her to accept him, but they play and get along well now. I really enjoy watching those two.

ROMEO
I was brought in to the shelter as a stray - a little baby like me sure doesn't belong in the streets of Philadelphia! I was outside a while, as I'm thin and my pretty white feet are dirty. Foster mom says we can fix both of those, but I'm pretty scared right now. I'm a cute little baby, and I purr when you hold me even though all of this is just a bit much for me. More on me later, and better pictures - foster mom says I'll be feeling much better about life in a day or so!

SERGIO
UPDATE: 9/15/09 - I't's ME, Sergio, again, asking for you to please ask about me. Foster Mom says that I am all ready to go to my forever home, but there isn't anyone out there to adopt me yet! If you want love and a sweet, sweet snowshoe boy, I'm just about as good as it gets and foster mom should know!! There sure are a lot of snowshoes around here. I am now a very happy and healthy boy who gives love, kisseS and purrs so loud that the room shakes. LOVER BOY SERGIO!!

UPDATE: 8/24/09

Helloooooo, it's Sergioooooo here and I can't wait to tell you about the NEW and IMPROVED lover boy that I AM!!

When I came, I was sore, bruised and limping from having been hit by a car............
BUT NOW - I am limber, jumping into your lap and doing daily kitty stretches.

When I came, my fur was dry and brittle and I was shedding up a storm.........
BUT NOW - I am as soft as a bunny and have a luscious coat,

When I came, I was scared and hid most of the time.......................
BUT NOW - I like my hiding spot part of the day, but at NIGHT, I am a NIGHTTIME LOVER.

When I came, I wasn't sure if I could trust humans or not...................
BUT NOW, I jump into laps, cuddle, make big lover boy biscuits and give kitty kisses.

When I came, I just waited for my dinner and pets......................
BUT NOW, I let you know if you are late with the food and I ask you to pet me, please.

When I came, I got a terrible cold and I got a fever mask.................
BUT NOW, my face fur is starting to grow back in and my eyes are clear and brigh.

When I came, I wasn't sure if I could love again or trust people.................
BUT NOW, I DO, I DO LOVE and TRUST in an ever growing way.

YES, I AM a new and improved Sergio and I'm ready for my forever home. Would you like to be my LOVER?

Purrs, headbutts and lots of biscuits, Sergiooooooooooo

Notes from Home
Sergio has done surprisingly well coming to his forever home. It's hard to believe he's been with us only two weeks. He was fully integrated into the whole house just a few days after arriving. His new sister, Chi, hissed and growled at him the first few days, but after that she just kind of ignored him. Now they get along ok and occasionally sniff each other and chase each other around the house.

We are continually amazed at Sergio's motor - it starts kind of low then ends with a loud rumble with a squeak attached to it. It's hard to describe - you almost have to hear it to believe it!

He, at times, still has coordination problems, especially when jumping up or down from places. Nothing to worry about, just that he is a little "off" or ungainly when he tries to jump up or down. I'm guessing that is from being hit the car.

He is slowly getting his days and nights turned around - like a new baby. He not waking us nearly as often at night, or I should say very early morning. If we don't close the bathroom door in our bedroom, he likes to go in there and get the paper cups off the sink and bat them around - not good for our sleeping. He has curled up on the bed at least once with us. If both he and Chi start doing that, there's not going to be much room at the foot of the bed for our feet.

He's already had a couple new experiences that sent him under our bed in a very big hurry - our "grand dog" and a young grandson came for visits on different days. Chi has dealt with both before and although watchful, she doesn't go into hiding. Sergio will probably be the same once he gets better acquainted with them.

He seems to have adjusted to us very quickly and is very friendly and loves to be petted and made a fuss over. He still has some problems with quick movements and loud noises, but that, too, is beginning to diminish. He has become a great addition to our family!

April 2010

Wow, it's hard to believe that we've had him for six months already! He's doing fine, no problems, although he is still a bit skittish with sudden moves, but I don't really see that as a problem.

He has grown and filled out. A big lover boy whom Chi tolerates, though it's funny how at times she will start licking his ears or face, but not often. They will occasionally be caught sleeping next to each other. He does follow her around at times, or at least likes to be in the same vicinity she is. Sometimes they do the tag-team bit when it comes to waking me up in the morning - I think they draw straws to see who gets to do it! When I get Don up at night for work, a lot of the time he goes in and gets up on the bed to make sure he's awake. He has started sleeping on the bed, so I end up with one at my feet (Chi) and one beside me (Sergio) (unless Don's home, which is only one night a week).

Sergio (aka Serg, Big Boy and Ding Dong) is very much a people cat. He is usually in the same room we are - in my office, he's usually on the daybed, in the living room he's on the couch. When we're watching TV, he's usually on the couch between us. I can pick him up and move him if I want to lay on the couch and he doesn't do a thing, just goes back to sleep or whatever. He does have some very unusual sleeping positions - usually on his back with his head twisted some way or other, looks uncomfortable to me, but must not be to him. He still has his very loud purr and when he really gets going, the "chirp" slips in; and if he does that for very long, he starts coughing.

We're very glad we added him to our family.

MIA
A big purrsonality in a little shell, that's me! I am very sure of myself, adore people and absolutely must have a home with another active feline playmate (a boy please) because I hate being alone. I have a loud purr motor and am super social - I'll be the life of all your parties! I'll even ride around on your shoulder to impress your guests!
Please ask about me!
Purrs,

Notes from Home
UPDATE – April 12, 2010:

Christine, Melanie & everyone at Siamese Rescue:

Mia's perfect! She's healthy and happy and queen of the house!

Hooch took to her right away; Gypsy's more laid back, so they're not best friends, but they ignore each other equally, LOL! Except when Gypsy's in the living room kitty litter… Mia thinks that's the best time to sneak up on her! That's what Hooch does to Mia sometimes, so she's just passing on what she learned. Gypsy doesn't mind. She just goes to one of the other boxes. She's not nervous or scared, thank goodness!

Mia was very well named… she's not only a wonderful soccer player, but when games come on the TV, if she's in the living room, she jumps on top of the TV, hangs her head and paws over, and tries to play with the ball!

Mia is very lively and just plain adorable! She loves to nap with me or my daughter Staci; she cuddles right up in your armpit and kneads – I've gotten much better at trimming her nails more frequently!

It's really cute, 'cause when she kneads her eyes drift almost shut, she starts purring, and drooling!

She also loves to climb into the bathtub or sink. She doesn't care if it's wet. And she'll play with running water. I'll have to get pix of that! When she curls up in the sink, her purr-motor really kicks in – and it's loud! Other times when she purrs, it's softer. It's not just an echo, either, she just loves that sink.

She loves hiding behind the shower curtain too, and waits for Hooch to come looking for her… then she jumps out and startles him, then he starts chasing her. They are soo much fun to watch!

I'm posting a pic of the two of them during our February blizzard… they really know how to relax!

(forgive me for taking so long to answer – my elderly mom-in-law has moved in with us. She has alzheimer's, and can't walk, so we've been pretty busy!)

Mia and Hooch pretty much ignore Mom, but little Gypsy has taken to her and sleeps on her or the arm or back of her recliner most of the time.

Hugs to all of you at SRC. Our family is very happy together!

Oct. 2009

Mia (fka Maelie) is doing great! She's growing by leaps and bounds, and adores her big brother, Hooch (fka Ollie) and sister Gypsy.

Mia is named for soccer great Mia Hamm; she's awesome to watch when she gets a crumpled up piece of paper going!

Hooch (another form of the slang term "White Lightning" or "Moonshine," 'cause when he was a kitten a white blur or streak of white lightning is all you saw).

Though Hooch is just shy of 15 pounds, and Mia's not quite 5 pounds yet, they really get into playing and wrestling. And Hooch is so very gentle with her.

I'll upload some really funny videos to YouTube -- as soon as I figure out how!

Mia is a total joy to all of us -- but especially to me! She's a real cuddle-bunny who loves everybody!

Tinto is getting to be a big boy now. You can see he is maturing in alot of ways. The most important way is he learned the meaning of "NO". This to mean was sooooo important. Now when I say no he understands that this is not to be done, he then respond with a siameses voice and comes to moma for a big hug or just a leg rub. This is so very thrilling for me. I have always adopted older cats and they have all been through this stage. We are bonding now in such a more meaningful relationship.
Tinto is so proud of himself. I can tell by the way he walks and respond now to my voice when I tell him he is a good boy. There is nothing like the love of a siamese and those eyes when they look at you. He still is a playfull boy and he is the best medicine when you are sick, Just loves to get those toes when you are trying to rest. Also knows when you need someone to sleep with not to keen on the vicks smell.
Thanks everyone for my precious Tinto
Trish

GILLIAN OR GILLY
I was so very scared at that shelter. A really nice lady came in to see me and said she'd get me out of there and in a home to wait for my forever home. I waited for the nice lady to come back to get me but in the meantime I had to have surgery so I wouldn't have to raise a family (silly huh? I don't even have arms to raise a family with!).
As promised the nice lady came back to get me and here I am, in a home, waiting for my forever people to adopt me.
I'm helping Foster M type this by headbutting the keyboard. I know what I want to say but she says those letters just don't make sense in that order. So what? Just looking at me should do it.
I'm pretty playful! M says if I don't slow down she's going to have to contain me in the dog crate!!! HUH? Just got out of a cage and she wants to put me into another one? For my safety she says since I'm still healing from my surgery. Don't see how that'll be safe, smells like dog.
I'll talk to you later. I think I'd better take a nap now so she doesn't stick me in that crate.
Gillian is a sweet loving meezer. She enjoys affection and seeks it out with a little mew. She does enjoy a nice Zoom Groom session and she says her new family must have one (found at your friendly Siamese Rescue store).

Notes from Home
My Mom keeps telling me it's my 3-year anniversary, but I don't really know what that means. It must be something good because everytime she says it, she smiles and gives me a hug (she calls them "Gilly Hugs") or a kiss on top of my head. Or sometimes she just gives me scratches by my tail and I return the favor by head-butting her >^..^<

Mom tells me that my "personality" has come out a lot in the past year. I think that's silly, because I'm a CAT, not a person, but I take it as a compliment anyway. I've let her know that I'm not too sure about little people (she calls them children or kids). Something about them makes me nervous, and I think it has something to do with the people I lived with before Ms. Mary took me into foster care. I want to like all people, but the little ones run around more, and are quicker to try and grab me. They also make a lot more noise! But Mom always reassures me and makes sure that everyone is kind and gentle.

And I take good care of her, too. Six months ago, Dad (I call him Paw), had to go away and ever since then, it's just been Mom taking care of me and Addie (Mom refers to her as my "sister". I think of her as the bossy, older cat who always tries to tell me what to do). When Paw first left, I was very afraid and hid from everyone for a few days. Even Mom couldn't find me, and I was so sad. Then, one night, Addie showed Mom where I was, and Mom was so happy to find me, she hugged me and cried. I didn't mean to make her cry. I just didn't understand what was happening and didn't want to be in the way.

That night really showed me how much Mom and Addie care about me, and even though me and my sister have to share only one human, we actually get along better. She's still bossy, but sometimes she plays with me. At dinnertime, we even touch our noses to one another before Mom feeds us, and Mom says that makes her very happy.

I've decided that this is a good place to be, and it's the place I call my Fur-Ever home.

Notes from Home
It has now been almost 9 months since Bitsy arrived in her 'forever' home. She has become very comfortable with all of us and everyone in our family is just in love with her. She is a sweet little love bug with a very gentle personality. She enjoys sitting in my husband's or my lap, watching tv or reading each evening. She's very vocal and lets you know how she feels. Every night at 10am on the dot, she starts to yowl, letting us know it's bedtime. :-) She's got her special spot on our bed where she sleeps with us each night. My son and daughter just adore her and she enjoys all the petting and holding she gets from all of us. She loves having her tummy rubbed and we get lots of purrs and headbutts. We could not have asked for a more beautiful and dear little Meezer. We cannot thank Siamese Rescue enough for bringing us together.

PETE
Foster mom thinks I'm as handsome as Elijah Wood in Lord of the Rings. Well, I do have blue eyes you can lose yourself in, and I'm a brunette with chiseled good looks. But I'm way more than a handsome face. So far I'm a gentle and confident soul. I've had a lot of changes in the last little while though, so stick around and see how my personality shows up! Notes from Home
Elijah's name is now Pete. He's a playful, peaceful little guy, so we figured Pete Seeger is a good name-sake for him. Pete is exploring the house more each day. Ballerine, our other cat, is tolerating Pete's presence. She hisses once in a great while but mainly ignores him.

Pete is cuddly at night, naps in the sock basket and plays during the day, chirps, purrs loudly, and eats like a little pig! He weighed almost 7 1/2 pounds at his vet visit last week.

4/29: Good, but slow, progress in introducing Pete to Lily. They have now been loose together (about 10 minutes at a time) twice. We started out with Lily on leash, getting lots of treats for being good. Lily and Pete are being cautious about each other, but both making friendly overtures. Because Lily is crated at night, Pete has the run of the house then. For the most part, he and Ballerine are ignoring each other. Pete is definitely feeling confident and happy; he prances through the house with his tail high like a flag. He chirps and trills like crazy, and purrs like a motorboat.

9/29: Pete is such a sweetie! He's laid back (but still playful) and patient. He and Lily (our dog) are good friends, and Pete and Mika are so cute together. We are so happy to have both Pete and Mika in our family!

4/8/10: Pete is sweet! We are so glad he's been with us a year. He likes to sleep (especially in the sock basket), he likes to eat, he likes to play. We love him!

Fun loving, easy going, cuddly and snuggly, fine with other cats, boys and gals, chirpy and excellent habits. Nothing not to like here; and the only reason I was told no small kids is because I'm still learning how to play appropriately (I get a little overexcited at times). Everyone who visits just loves me, and I have many friends here I could go home with if you want a pair!
