Special Info for Sabastine |
A Scholarship means that the adoption fee for this cat has been reduced.
This can be for many reasons: the cat may have a behavior issue (excessively moody for
example); they may be older and qualify for a an adoption discount; they may
have a current medical problem which will require continued veterinary care
and monitoring (such as Chronic Renal Failure); or a generous person has funded part of their adoption fee.

SABASTINE
If youre looking for a sophisticated lady Meezer, you've found her! I'm experienced with gentle children, and even a laid back dog. I just need a slow intergration and I would really rather be an only but if I have to I can get along with maybe a laid back male. I charmed my vet (my big blue eyes work like a love potion), who thought I was very sweet and lady-like while having my check-up: blood work A+. And I'm a girly girl who enjoys having a manicure. I'd love to find a fur-ever home to call my very own , wouldn;t you love having me in your lap? My suitcase is all packed -just ask for me, Ms. Sabastine! Adoption scholarship offered by secret pal up north! Wow, people do love me! So I am ready and waiting.

Notes from Home
I go to the vet two times a year for tests and sometimes more. . I hate the vets but I act like the perfect southern lady that I am while I am there. The vet said I was doing fairly good for a 17 1/2 year old, kidney values are a little off but I only need special foods and no fluids yet. Each time I go she says fluids will be in the future. She started me on the special food 18 months ago and my values have stayed about the same. I even had a dental done to keep my teethies looking good as the vet says this year may be the last year I am healthy enough for a dental. My meowmy knows she is not my favorite person, she knows I am a daddy's girl big time. I caress his face, sit by him on the couch, sleep next to him while he watches TV or sit on the back of the couch so I can rub his ear. The only time I let meowmy near me is when she has a treat for me. My sister and I still can not be in the same room without constant supervision, after 5 years my meowmy is reconciled to the fact we will never get along, but that is ok, we are worth the effort to keep us apart. She says one emergency room visit was enough so she makes sure we do not get near each other. So it makes it good that my sister is a meowmy's girl, she stays out of my way. My mommy even goes in the other room to watch TV so my sister can be near her while I stay with my daddy. So just wanted to let you know I am still doing well. i am very much loved, and I really love my daddy. My meowmy loves me even if I have nothing to do with her, she says that all she wants is to make me happy and my daddy does. But meowmy is very good in the treat department so I have gotten a little better with her.
Purrs to you,
Sabastine Va3131

COWBOY
I'm looking for a lap. A loving, warm, open lap where I can sit for hours on end, staring up at you lovingly, patting your face, snuggling against your chest, purring away. I will sit there as long as you'd like and love you as much as you want.
So why haven't I been adopted yet?
I have perfect habits. I don't mind other cats but people are by far my preference. I love children and adults, teenagers and dogs.
So why haven't I been adopted yet?
Well, I have a positive heartworm test in my past. That means that at one point I had a heartworm, but it is likely gone by now. There may be some residual damage (I do have a heart murmur) but I show no signs whatsoever. Heartworm in cats is not like in dogs - you can't treat it in cats - and many times the body absorbs the heartworm and we go on with our life. I could benefit from an echocardiogram if you'd like to get me one, and I have an adoption scholarship to save you on my adoption fee since we may visit a cardiologist together. So while, yes, there might be a little residual damage, it might also be no big deal. One thing I've decided? I'm going to get as much loving as I can possibly get in, so don't adopt me unless you want a big lap sitting lover boy!

Notes from Home
Even though Cowboy (aka Mosey) has been with us for 6 months, it certainly does not feel as though the honeymoon is over! He is a wonderful cat that charms everyone he meets, and we love him dearly. In the last several months Mosey dropped a few pounds, which is great for his weak ticker, and he has become quite playful. He loves his feather toy (although he prefers to chase the metal clip once he pulls the feather off) and he is still crazy about catnip. He favorite toy is one that he brought home from the VA Center--a hand-sewn bad of catnip. He wrestles with it daily!
We love to take Cowboy for walks around our neighborhood (on a leash, of course) in part because of all the compliments he gets from strangers. It makes us feel like proud parents. Somehow we don't mind that he wakes us up with purrs each and every night; he's so loveable, how can we refuse?
Thank you Siamese Cat Rescue Center for keeping such great records on our boy--it has made dealing with his hear/lung problems much easier. At the moment he is just about symptom free, with just a few coughs now and then. The only treatment we have to give is to appreciate him every day that we have him. Cowboy teaches us to live in the moment.

COOKIE
Ohhh, I'm so nice. I'm good with other cats. I love to be petted and be by your side. I talk when I want something. My beautiful, blue coat is so soft, plush and warm, and my eyes are icey blue and thoughtful. Can I be the queen of your life?

JINGLES
Jingles here wanting to introduce myself. It took me a couple days to be brave enough to come out of hiding, but when I did, boy did I turn on the charm. Foster mom says that I am a stunningly beautiful cat, have a wonderful personality and am a very happy and healthy cat. I was given up by my owners to the shelter when I wasn't happy with the new kitten they brought home. Hey, it was MY house and that little kitten didn't respect my laid back, easy going ways. It just wanted to play and chase and I wanted to rest and watch birds and squirrels. If you would like a loving and easy going girl, please ask about me, but you'll have to promise me you won't ever trade up for a newer model - it would break my heart to be rejected a second time. Purrs, headbutts and love from Jingles

Jingles is doing great. She didn't have any trouble adjusting; in fact, her first night here, she found her spot in the bed between my husband and I. She has begun being more playful and loves the toys that were sent home with her; although her new favorite toy is the laser pointer Daddy got her. She gets a little grumpy about the fact that she is limited to half a can of food a day, but she's learning that this diet and exercise may not be fun, but it has its benefits (energy level up!). She's a sweet lover that wants to be on our laps or as close to our faces as possible if we are sleeping or sitting anywhere. We couldn't be happier to have adopted her!

CHRISTOPURR
Loving, affectionate, interactive, silly, and fun! I'm an outgoing, vocal, interactive guy who likes to play, climb, and snuggle! I'm in good health, I'm a bit pushy with the other cats so Aunt Siri says I should be the only apple of someone's eye, but what an apple(head) I'm going to be!

Notes from Home
4/16/10 - Christopurr has been with us a little over a year now and it has been quite some year! Not long after he arrived, he started having some biting issues. Also, our other cat, Sela, was deathly afraid of him and Christopurr just made things worse by being so pushy! At one point I thought my husband was going to tell me that we would have to return Christopurr to Siamese Rescue (he can have very little patience sometimes) and my daughter and I were sick over the thought! But with lots of time and patience, Christopurr has improved immensely and hardly ever bites anymore. Sela has also gotten used to him and is not afraid of him anymore. She still doesn't like him bugging her, and I don't know if they'll ever be best buddies, but she's no longer scared to death and has returned to her old self. We are so glad that we stuck it out because we love Christopurr very much!

BOSLEY
Y'all got to be REALLY careful of those dark, silent types. One day loose in Group Living here at the Center and what did I do? Hopped into bed with the prettiest gal I could find! Hey! It was her first day loose as well, and, well, I guess you could say we got loose together! So now that we are acquainted, she tells me she's already got a home. Great. The gal of my dreams and she's already promised to someone. Well phooey. Alright, so that means that I need a home, but here's my requirement - must have a cute, easy, floozy female who will hop right into bed with me, because obviously, life ain't so scary when you're in LOVE :) (I'm the one in front)

Notes from Home
Bosley (and as I like to call him from time to time "Mr. Lovekins") was almost adopted out to someone else. He was a very timid cat and needed someone that understood that. I can honestly tell you that he is the most lovable cat that I have ever owned. I was worried at first that my other "child", Trudy would not be as accepting; however it did take quite a bit time, but she has warmed up to him and they get along good. Bosley knows that she is the boss, true to her name, and he seems to be ok with that.

TRUDY
Hi, my name is Trudy, and I know I don't look like a real meezer like some of my cousins on these pages, but Geez , is it my fault that my mother was a hussie and got involved with a guy beneath her class ????
I did inherit her beautiful blue eyes, though and before I got separated from her she did teach me to be a good kitty. I always use my litter box, keep myself really clean, and give plenty of purrs and head butts. I also love to play with my toys and sit in the sun.
If you look at all my pictures, you can see how I've changed in the year I am here. (Torties do that you know) I am getting so unhappy not having a real home of my own. It's nice here, but it isn't mine. I keep looking out the window to see if you are coming for me.
Do you have a sunny window that you would like to fill with a sweet little tortie girl like me? I just know you're out there so please hit the "ask about me button", and meowm will tell you all you want to know.
Purrs & Headbutts,
Trudy

True attitude...and I love it. I adopted Bosley about a month after adopting Trudy. It took awhile for her to accept him, but they play and get along well now. I really enjoy watching those two.

ROMEO
I was brought in to the shelter as a stray - a little baby like me sure doesn't belong in the streets of Philadelphia! I was outside a while, as I'm thin and my pretty white feet are dirty. Foster mom says we can fix both of those, but I'm pretty scared right now. I'm a cute little baby, and I purr when you hold me even though all of this is just a bit much for me. More on me later, and better pictures - foster mom says I'll be feeling much better about life in a day or so!
