UNI
I'm a little Eskimo snowshoe kitty, which is why they call me Juno - like Alaska, get it? Only the tips of my front toes and my back feet are white. Otherwise, I'm a gorgeous sealy girl!

I'm a lovey-dovey girl and adore getting my pets. I give great headbutts and purrs in return. I'm not a lap cat, but a good companion. I mew and talk a bit too, so you'll never be lonely or wonder if you left me in a closet.

I like other kitties but don't know about dogs yet. I have excellent litter box habits too!

Headbuts,
Juno

Notes from Home
Hello! This is Uni (FKA Juno [VA5634]). Meowy was going to write my update for me but decided to let me do it. I had a very happy homecoming anniversary. Life is awesome here in NYC. I'm spoiled daily with lots of play and attention. I have a baby brother (Toro) who keeps me company. We play tag, peek-a-boo and mock battles. Meowy is still my favourite but I've also grown to like Daddy quite a bit. I was afraid of men at the beginning (an observation made quickly by Foster Mommy Linda) but now I like to also follow Daddy around and even sleep next to him when it's bed time.

We celebrated my 2nd birthday back in March. I got a birthday "cake" (which is just a small can of my regular food served as whole) with a candle and all. I received birthday cards and presents from my feline friends in the building. It was great fun.

Meowy is on top of things and my annual checkup is scheduled for next week. She did this a month ago!!

All in all, we are loved by many many two legged beings...thank you for placing me in my forever home! My brother and I also entered our pictures to the 2010 SCRC Calendar contest...I hope we win...please check out my pictures!

Headbutts, Uni

---May 2010 Update --

Hello All, it's Uni again! I hope you are all well. I'm very happy in my forever home. I mentioned in last year's update that we entered the calendar contest - lo and behold, baby Toro won and is Mr. May 2010! That's right, I have bragging rights that this kid is my brother! We continue to play and play each day and bring so much joy to our parents (who serve us on their hands and knees).

Celebrated my 3rd birthday in March. Check out my awesome party pictures! I'm entering the 2011 calendar contest...I hope it's my turn next year!!

Love to all,
Uni

PERSEPHONE
What's not to love? I'm full of energy, so I hope you have a playmate for me!

Notes from Home
We have had Persephone for six months now, and we couldn't have asked for a better cat. Our little girl is affectionate, absolutely adorable, and a great playmate for her "sister" Andromeda. She loves to curl up in my lap when I'm at my desk, and she's almost always lying next to me in the bed when I wake up. Unlike most cats of her breed, she only meows when she wants treats or canned food, but it is a very distinct Siamese cry. She and Andromeda love to play fight and keep each other active. They're very good about sharing their window perch and cat tree, and we often catch them grooming each other. Persephone hasn't even been with us for a year, and it's already hard to imagine life without her.

Notes from Home
I named Flash, Nero (after the famous Italain ruler). Nero is so happy to be in his new home. He loves to see me, loves to be picked up and head buts my face, loves to be petted. I spend time with him in his own room I sit with him, he sits in my lap, plays with his toys. He is so sweet, I just love him!!! I cannot get over how well adjusted he is and how he loves to see me. I have had him 3 days now. He is so adorable!
After 10 days, he is out and about. Well behaved and happy, runs up and down the steps, talks alot, does not hiss not once not at all, spit or growl. One of my girls, IttyBitty, females, loves him!. My other 2 are growling at him and hissing, but shows no real aggression. Nero is slowly fitting in and he already acts like he has been in my home since he was a kitty.

One more thing, its been 14 years since I had a male cat with my felmales. I notice that Nero tries to mount my females by only trying to put his front paws over thier front sholders, or bite them on the back of the neck, he does it rather gently. One female hates it and lets him know by growling so horribly, I have never heard such horrible noises from her, the other female will squeel, they play chase most of the time, and she knows he is playing, he will not even try to get near my chocolate point, he know better!!! Every one is happy and together, and they now know Nero means no harm. Nero fits in perfectly!!!!! He even takes care of everyone when the females fight with each other and go at it.

Its been a year. Nero is happy in his new home. I am glad I adopted him. He is smart, beautiful, well adjusted to my other females. Sorry no pictures.

RUSTY
I'm an unhappy camper but I'm starting to like this new setting. I was real scared at first but I'm learning to trust. I love to get the chinny rubs and be petted though I can get upset easily, probably something I'll get over in time. I do enjoy playing but I just don't feel that good about my situation all the time.

What I need is a new home where someone we'll love me and play with me. I haven't had that in a long time and I think once I have that I will feel much better about my situation . If I could find somebody to love me forever I would probably be putty in their hands. Could that be you? Maybe my brother Sammy can come with me?

Rusty

Notes from Home
Rusty has finally, after 3 years, let me pet and pick him up. I am not saying he likes it much, but tolerates me. He is, however, best friends with my husband and has been since day one! Rusty will be going to the vet for his annual check up and I am sure he will need some dental work, like his brother, Poo Poo did. Rusty is not very fond of the vet but knows it is in his best interest to do what she says! Rusty's favorite place, beside my husband's lap, is in a basket right in front of the front door so he can look out and snarl at the mailman!

SAMMY
I came from a bad situation but things are looking up. I'm feeling better after some medication. I do flinch a bit when somebody tries to pet me but I do like it, one of these silly humans didn't treat me right at one time it seems. I purr when being petted and do like it , I'm just not sure of what to expect all the time. I do like to play with this guy though as he has all kinds of neat toys, I like to chase and try to catch that string. Me and my new kitty buddy Shadow played with that string and it was fun.

I came here with my brother Rusty but I think I can do well on my own. I just have to find the right people who we'll appreciate a kitty like me. I hope maybe that could be you.

Notes from Home
Sammy is still a little grumpy at times, but leads a very relaxed and happy life. The highlight of his day is when "Daddy" comes home and he can take up residence on Daddy's lap! Sammy had a lot of dental work done about 6 months ago, so we think that made him feel better. Sammy has the best of everything including Organic Cat Food and lots of love, just like his brother Rusty. Sammy has a nickname - Poo Poo!

MONTY
I am B-A-C-K.....Go ahead and ask about me before someone beats you to it!!!

Do you want to put a little spring in your step, some sunlight in your life? I am the man (well, kitty) to add some sunshine in your world!!! Kitchen cabinets fear me when I strut into the room. Fireplace mantles quiver when I look up at them, beckoning me to climb them. Toys go running back to the toy box.......Don't you need a little excitement in your life?

Please ask about me but, I need to stay within my transport range.

I am a flamepoint snowshoe, which makes me extra special!

Hi everyone! Monty is doing great and has settled right into his new home! Rollie (my lilac point Siamese mix) and I love having him here and he seems to be loving us too! He is very funny and cute and is a mischievious little (or big!) guy--he loves to climb up high and also has the nose of a bloodhound when it comes to food! He has taken pretty well to his leash & harness and has been enjoying beautiful sunny afternoons on the porch and front lawn with me and Rollie. Thanks again for bringing Monty into our lives!

GINNY
I came in with brother Sirius. We are two peas in a pod and must go home together. We are both VERY Siamese - VERY talkative, VERY interactive, VERY opinionated, VERY excellent cats!

Notes from Home
Robin & Ginny are so happy with us and we are very happy with them. In just a short while, we have become family. They eat well, sleep well and play with each other -- rolling on the bed like they're fighting -- then glued to each other while snoozing. Peter & I adore them! Our grandchildren come to visit, and -- believe it or not! -- Robin & Ginny come downstairs to greet them and play with them. They are very gentle, not timid and not scared. All my friends and family tell us we are very lucky! We had two siblings before Ginny & Robin for 14 years and loved seeing them together and so affectionate with each other. Now we have an opportunity to see it all over again, thank God! Thank you so much! I can't imagine our lives without them!

TURTLE
Foster Mom says there is nothing not to like about me! I'm a love machine and give the best headbutts and I have a purr motor that won't quit! I chirp when I see the other kitties so there's no reason to think I can't live with other nice cats. What do you say? Why don't you get on my list so Foster Mom can update you when she learns new things about me?

Hope to hear from you soon!

Love,
Turtle

Turtle is one crazy love-bug. He is playful and learning to calm down and sleep on my chest. The resident princess doesn't like him yet, and he is also learning to respect boundaries. He really really wants to love up on her too :) He's all I expected and more. I adore him.
