UMIKO
I am talkative, friendly and have silky soft fur! I like to snuggle, but not sure yet if I want to get into foster meowm's lap.

I'll be finding a new home quickly, so if you're interested, send foster meowm an email today!

Notes from Home
First I want to thank Siri, Darryl, Cathy, Cathy's husband, Dolly, and Jeannie for making it possible for us to have Umiko as a member of our family

Sweet, soft, and "stay very close," "all the time," are the initial ways to describe her. She is still a bit picky with her food, but when she gets hungry enough she will eat both wet and dry food, often going to the food dishes at the same time as her "big brother," Larry, (aka Lawrence).First, she has to talk about it.

Her name is still Umiko, altho my son at one point wanted to call her "Dora, the Explorer."

Umiko by now has pretty much integrated fully into the household, meaning, she will walk up and downstairs from her favorite bed (mine) , sleep in the sun on the couch by herself ,explore, lick herself just about anywhere, stretch, play a bit, but ,mostly, talk, and purr. She is quite a little lady. This morning i noticed Lawrence ,a big old puss 'n boots kind of a cat, walk right up to her and lick her on the face. Umiko likes to lick herself ,and humans, too.

I think all is then fine, now. The only thing I'm watching is her picky eating habits. The vet says her weight is fine. Best to you all. Rachel

DUSTY
A quieter, softer gentle soul, I'm looking for a close relationship with a single or couple (a woofer is okay too) who wants a fairly easy going relationship with a very nice Siamese cat! Not sure what more you can ask for. I'm initially the tiniest bit shy but bet you'll hardly notice, and I have superb habits. I've been here long enough that there's no secret worries about my health (though I do prefer a dry kibble aimed at sensitive stomachs). Someone is missing the boat on me!

Notes from Home
Dynasty (with a new name of "Dusty") has been "home" for one month today! She gets more and more comfortable every day, and is now sitting on laps, getting chin scratches, lying in the sun in the bay window, even sleeping on a corner of the bed! She seems to tolerate, and even play with, her "brother" (Casey was already living here when she arrived). We kept her in her room for a couple of weeks, then limited exposure to Casey, and finally both have run of the house. There's some chasing every now and then, and a very infrequent hiss - but we've already seen some nose-touching and even a single lick on the head.

Dusty's been to the vet, who pronounced her well and good - a little overweight (we're working on that), and, as expected, a dental cleaning will be due in the future.

All in all, we have two super cats. We are so happy with Dusty, the newest addition to our family. She greets us at the door every time we come home, and follows us around quite a bit. What a pleasure!

MOXIE
Wow! What a change for me! From the shelter with a hard surface and on toys, to a cushie bed and lots of toys. I'm a happy kitty, love to play, love to snuggle, love to eat, .........did I mention love to play??????

I feel so good now that I'm clean and free of those pesky fleas, I am a good girl and always use my liltter box, and let meowmy give me a pedicure without complaint.

Wouldn't you like a little girl like me in your life?

Notes from Home
Moxie is the perfect addition to our little family. Her name definitely suits her -- she's still a wild child, but a lovebug, too. She loves the morning shower routine, when Moses the Maine Coon pokes his head in to get wet and she tries to play with his tail...sometimes pushing him into the tub! My little lynxpoint loves the bathtub, too, jumping in whenever I head to the bathroom!

She's also a talker, but not in the true meezer mowl like Minou, my sealpoint who passed last summer. Moxie could have been named "Squeak" like the character in The Color Purple. I thought it would change as she got older, but at 11 months now, I have a feeling she'll always be squeaky! She replies to me with a squeak, and with Moses also talking in a sweet meow, we have a lovely trio going.

At her two-week check-up, Dr. Jack gave Moxie the "all clear," and Mox was very well behaved...the pipe cleaners I brought really kept her preoccupied. We cleaned her ears up a bit, and she's healthy as can be, with a bunny-soft coat that is now beginning to darken. Good news: no sneezing after the first two months at home.

Moxie is super smart as we all know Siamese are. I'm especially thrilled that she understands what "no" means, and has learned not to scratch or play with things in the house that aren't just for her. Her human vocabulary is expanding...night-night, stinky food, water, treat, and crunchies are her favorite words.

Moxie ADORES her older brother, Moses. Their first meeting was thankfully uneventful, and ever since it's been mostly smooth sailing. There's an occasional growl from Mo, but Mox starts most of the melee...she can really wrestle! They run like horses up and down my long hallway, sliding into the kitchen and leaving the rugs in a heap!

Moxie LOVES her toys and catnip. She carries or drags them around in her mouth, just like Minou did. Sometimes I find most of her toys in a big pile, and others I find them all over the house.

I was hoping she'd sleep in the bed with me and Mo, and sure enough, she does. When she isn't curled up between my knees at night, she's usually in her sherpa bed next to my pillow, quietly purring. Once in a while, I'm awakened to an "exfoliation" treatment on my hands...she's quite the clean machine!

Moxie's litterbox habits are very good, and she seems to pee an awful lot...more than any cat I've seen. Last week, she hopped into the box to pee while Moses was already in it -- patient fellow that he is, he stayed in the box with her, side by side! She loves her kitty water fountain, and gets lots of water.

Mox loves her morning canned food, and licks the bowl clean. I've weaned her off canned kitten food in the past couple of weeks, and the mixed dry food of adult and some kitten kibble will be switched to all adult by end of May. (Jeanne- she still chases kibble across the kitchen floor!)

Moxie takes a little time to warm up to new people, but not in a dysfunctional way. She checks people out, darts off, and comes back over and over again. After a couple of visits, she's fine. I'm glad that she's attached to me, though she's also an independent little girl, unlike my male kitties have been.

So, it's a love story. My happy healthy little girl is having fun and becoming quite a love to boot. Thank you for all you do for Siamese kitties. I shudder to think what would have happened to her if you hadn't taken her in.

FRANKLIN

Notes from Home
We're nearing our 2 year anniversary of adopting Kasper (now Franklin), and we feel fortunate every day to have such a wonderful pet in our lives! When we adopted him, Franklin was very shy. The SRC found him after he was abandoned at a barn. He had started warming up to his foster parents, but the move with us to Cleveland seemed to set him back, and he spent a lot of time hiding under the bed. We spent a lot of time talking to him and offering treats, and little by little, he adjusted and became a very happy animal. We have since moved to Boston--another transition--but Franklin has handled it well. He enjoys getting to know our new friends here, and his new veterinarian admires his gentle temperament. I highly recommend the SRC to anyone looking to adopt a cat.

LACY
This is me pretending to be coy or shy. I'm neither coy, nor shy! I love people and have one of the loudest purr engines ever!

My best buddy in this whole entire world is Alex. He's a Bengal, but because we are best buddies, he gets to come with me! For once in my life I'm the leader, not the follower!! I am braver than he is sometimes, and sometimes he's braver than me. We make quite the pair!

I love laps and to purr. I like toys and have good litter box habits. I used to eat too much, so I'm on a diet. I'm making slow but steady progress. I am OK with dogs, if they don't chase me. I really hate being chased!!

If you are interested in us, you'll need to click on "Ask About Me" on each of us individually. We must go together!

Notes from Home
Lacy likes mom the best. She brings down her new feather toy every night as soon as the kids go to bed to mom. You can here her drag it down the stairs making such a racket with the handle. It cracks my husband and me up. She still does not like the children, but visits the baby's room during the nighttime routine to talk and rub on me while I am feeding the baby. She hisses at the children still, but has never done anything to harm them. She runs away very quickly for such a big girl. We call her the groundhog because of her size and that she is so low to the ground. She prefers me and my husband and that is fine because she is safe in my room until they slip into bed or out. She is very chatty and affectionate. She will come around as the children get older, but for now they just ignore her and she stays away from them.

ALEX
I'm Alex. I love Siamese as much as you do and I really appreciate Siamese Rescue! I am here because my best friend is Lacy and she's a Siamese. Lacy and I go as a team.

I'm a lot like a Siamese - I adore people, am smart as a whip, am into everything, and I can really jump! I love a feather toy, cat nip, and laps. I'm good with my litter box and am ok with cats and dogs.

If you are interested in US, please click on me and on Lacy too!

Sorry it has taken us so long to update Alex and Lacy's status lately. Everyone that visits falls in love with the stoic Alex. He has developed a routine of visiting the main floor when children are napping or at school and then again at night when they are in bed. I love laundry baskets and to give kisses while he stands on your back. Kevin, the oldest of the children, calls Alex his best friend. Alex was the baby's third word!!! She calls all cats Alex in place for the word cat. He is also gets into mischief by dumping water over or running away with parts of kids' toys. LOL

YIN
4-17-10

I have new pictures! Take a look, I bet you've never seen such a pretty girl!!!

Now that I'm out in the main part of the house and have met all the resident cats, I'm happy to have the run of the place. This is a picture of me meeting Singer for the first time. He's is a real pest!

I've discovered the couch is the very best place to observe the goings-on around here and I spend a lot of time sleeping across the back of it. I've met all the resident cats but would much rather sit in foster mom's lap and get ALL the attention. Who has time for other cats...it's all about ME! I love, love, love attention and having my ears rubbed and love, love, love being in your face and on your lap.

If you're looking for a real lovergirl in a slick, seal coat, just click that button and ask about me!

Headbutts and purrs, Yin

Notes from Home
Yin has settled in now. She is comfortable with the whole family and asks for affection from any of us. She has really shown her personality. She loves to carry around her stuffed mice. She is a smart curious cat too. I had a bedroom shut off and I couldn't figure out how she kept getting inside until my son saw her open the door by the L handle and push the door. We have had the cat door propped open so she would get used to the cat door going to her litter box. When we have removed the spoon she chats quite a bit about the closed door and is not sure about IT. So, it is still propped open. Funny!
She is loving and loves to be rubbed and petted. She likes to sleep on the bed for about half the night and she loves to be around her people. I think she is trusting that this is her new home and she owns it now. We love her meows and conversation noises. We are all doing great!

CLEO
Hi there, Im Cleo.

Now that Ive been here for a little while, things are looking up. Im getting over my kitty cold and have started eating the goodies Ive been given. Im still a little sad about having to leave my family because they got sick and couldnt keep me any longer but Im seeing the better side of life, also.

Foster meowmy and paw paw are pretty nice but I would like to have a new family. Im jumping into their laps so I can get pets and skritches but I still do run and hide behind the chair when the door opens because Im still not sure what is going to happen. But when I see its ok, I come out and talk and purr.

If you would like a nice kitty who does talk and purr, please ask about me.

Purrs,
Cleo

Notes from Home
Cleo has progressed nicely. Integration is taking awhile, mostly because she is so very timid. But last evening, she and our other Meezer, Brandy, touched noses! Cleo didn't even flinch as Brandy suddenly appeared on the arm of the recliner. where she was watching TV curled up in my lap (she seems to enjoy NCIS...or maybe that is just me...), then they both reached out to sniff each others nose. Brandy then jumped down, and Cleo continued to watch Abbey Schuito and Leroy Jethro Gibbs work the case.
Cleo has continued to gain healthy weight, and is no longer scrawny. Lil Miss is a total love bucket, who sleeps with me every night, and will let me know when it is time to eat!
I will get new pictures up, soon!
-Norman

FINN
Hello! Foster Mom says if you look "kitten" up in the dictionary you'll see my picture! She says I'm a typical kitten. I'm full of energy but when I get picked up I snuggle and purr. I actually purr in my sleep. How cute is that?? Don't you want to learn more about me? If so click on my link and Foster Mom will tell you all about me.

Take care!
Love,
Finn

SIMON
I love other cats here, ignore the dogs, and otherwise allow foster mom to pet me. I need a safe place, like a cat tree perch, to run back to if I get scared. Foster mom picks me up and gives me kisses (Icky!) and brushes me (Okay) every day. I quickly learned all the schedules around here, the most important one being meal times. I no longer have to be called twice to come.

If you can always have meals on time and keep my living quarters suitable clean and provide a friendly kitty companion for me, let's talk. Foster mom will have to answer the phone because she says my voice is too little to make sense long distance. So give me a call if you are interested in me.

Notes from Home
Simon has adjusted to home so well. He and brother Ollie get along great. Simon is completely comfortable with me and the home. He loves belly rubs and sleeps with Ollie and me everynight. He still hides when strangers come in, usually under the ottoman, but does allow people to pet him while under there and doesn't run away. He loves hanging out in the windows, people and traffic watching, and has started to play with his cat toys and with Ollie. He is an amazingly sweet cat and we are so happy he's home with us.
