MIA
Tiny, beautiful, quiet girl looking for a quiet home without young children. Still not sure about dogs. Calm when she sees other cats outside her cage. Still not out of her "confinement" because until she settles into a routine of not finding the tiniest place in which to hide, foster mom is limiting her space.
A 7# girl, a bit overwhelmed with life but with some time and TLC and an experienced adopter, should be fine.

Notes from Home
Hello Everyone!
My name is Mia. I am a 2 year old Seal Point Siamese cat. My story has a very sad beginning. I don’t remember much, but somehow I ended up on the cold and lonely streets at a very young age. Some scary men captured me and put me in a shelter. Some of the other cats told me that unless someone took me home soon my days were numbered. The first good thing that happened to me is when a nice lady named Diane rescued me and took me to her home to live with 10 other cats. I was extremely traumatized and preferred to hide in the corner of my cage with my head buried under my paws. Then it happened!
One day a beautiful princess and her ogre husband came to see me. They had also come to see my now-adopted brother, Mojo. The nice lady and her scary husband took us home. For a month or so I was most comfortable staying in my very own room. Mojo and Snappy (the older matron of the house) would come to visit me, but I was still too traumatized to play. To make a long story shorter, over the next five months I began to come out of my shell. I now wander around the house, playing with my brother Mojo and scrapping with Snappy.
I have found my “kittenhood†and am making up for lost time. Those horrible memories are beginning to fade away. This next part is a little bit embarrassing…..I still have some way to go with intimacy. The only time I want to be picked up and cuddled is in the morning when mom gets out of bed. I have figured out that if I chirp and rub myself against something she will pick me up and hug me. I let her do that for a few minutes then I want down. I have to admit I do like it though….but I don’t want her to think she can touch me whenever she wants. As far as the ogre? I guess he’s not too bad. He gives me a small saucer of milk at night. I really look forward to that. I’m gonna make him wait awhile, and then I might break down and let him touch me too.
Mojo and I spend our days sitting in the cat tree, looking out the window and cursing at the tasty birds that tease us cause they know we can’t get to them. We run and play and I am a lot more comfortable now. I am happy and optimistic about my future.

HONEY
I WANT TO COME HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!!
I think I would go GREAT with your Holiday decor', don't you?
My name is Honey and I once had a family that loved me unconditionally, actually, they still do, VERY MUCH. However; due to certain circumstances we had to part our separate ways.
I am probably the most dedicated lap sitter you will EVER meet. I am also an expert at SHOULDER RIDING. All the kids think it's purely MAGICAL and COOOOLL!!! So, if it's a 'cool cat' you are looking for-I'm right here!!! If it's a healthy cat you are looking for--again,-I'm right here!!! I have no health issues, my teeth are in great shape and my blood work is amazing. If you are looking for a cat that you can pick up--once again, I'm right here!!! You can pick me up all you want-I don't mind. In fact, I dare you to pick me up.
Please, do NOT pass me up just because of my age. Age is nothing but a number. Your age is irrelevant to me so mine should be irrelevant to you. I'm a cool cat, I'm a healthy cat, I'm a pretty cat, I'm a friendly cat and I'm a cat that doesn't mind being picked up. I am also a cat that has always spent the Holidays with my family so I'm counting on YOU to ensure that this Holiday Season will be no different. I want to come home to my family. If you rescue me soon enough, you can include me in the family photo...perched on your shoulder.
xoxoxo & purrs,
Honey

Notes from Home
Honey is well. We did experience a setback however when I had to get her into the vet's for the required checkup just at the two week mark. She simply freaked when I tried to get her into the cat box and I had to delay the appointment until I could capture her which was not simple at all. Tho she seemed totally at ease in the vet's office, when she arrived home she took off like a shot and I rarely saw her for two weeks. If she did come across me unawares, she beat feet to one of her hideouts. She is just now beginning to come around, mostly attributable, I think, to the introduction of the heated cat bed from Hammacher Schlemmer. Luckily there's not another visit for a very long time but you can bet there a valium in Honey's future. Suz

NICHOLAS
Okay folks, I have a problem here and it is HUGE!! My foster Mom promised me I would be having turkey for Thanksgiving and I know for a fact that she can't cook worth a darn. So I am thinking, me and my mousie need to be packing our bags and look for some new real estate, otherwise, my chances for turkey are slim to none. And I want that bird for dinner!!!! I would love to have my own home (turkey included) and a family to call my own, so why don't you ask about me so I don't have to eat Slim Jims on the holiday! P-L-E-A-S-E help me and my mousie!!!!
Forever grateful,
Nicholas

Oh, I forgot to say "thank you" to my foster mom, Jennifer. she sent me my original mousey, I missed him. I have not let him out of my sight since he arrived. Merry Christmas everybody!
Hello to my Siamese Rescue (SR) Fam! Well, I am totally settled in to my new home. I've met all the immediate family and friends and make a GREAT impression, if I do say so myself. I love the fact that get to eat chicken, turkey and fish, ooooooh, that's the highlight of my days outside of getting my belly rubs. Well, things were going really well, AND THEN IT happened, the carrier came out and I must say, I paniced and tried to hide, but to my dismay she CAUGHT me and I ended up in the car, I thought she did not want me anymore, finally she said, "Nick, you have to go to the doctor and get a check up and see why you are scratching behind you ears". On one paw, I was relieved, then it hit me, OH NO, not the doctor! Well, needless to say, I went. First came the thermometer and the rest is medical history. Anyway, I have an infection in my ears and mom has to put this solution in my ears every other day, oh boy, that's fun - NOT! Mom wasn't feeling the best, so we slept the rest of the day. Well, today I am doing well, still itching, hopefully the meds will start to work. Yesterday I had a blast, mom does this thing she calls mopping. WOW, she put water all over the floor and kept swinging this big hairy thing. I thought it was a new game, I soon found out mom wasn't playing. She started yelling at me; then in the room, door closed I went. FUN OVER! Then the door opened and I investigated before running out...didn't want to end up in the carrier (LOL) then I noticed the shine on the floor and soon realized she WAXED - OMG, I can run and slide from the kitchen to the livingroom, this is Heaven on earth! She loves me!!!! Well, my vittles are ready, gotta go. Talk to you soon. Cho

Want to play - huh - do you? I bet I can play longer than you can. Don't worry though, I will just play with your toes if you get tired of playing with me. I can hold my own as far as talking goes too. And I know for a fact that I am cute because everybody tells me so.

Notes from Home
Well we've just passed the 6 month mark of our adoption of Loki ("Richie" when we adopted him). He joined myself and my husband, and our 5 yr.old Flame Point male Milo. They had a smooth introduction and immediately became the best of friends - grooming and wrestling and chasing each other all over the house. Sitting in our sinks and playing w/ the water is a favorite pastime, and Loki can swat a paper ball under the stove from anywhere in the house in record time. Loki is slowly becoming more and more of a lap cat, although he still does not like to be held. He just wants to be on the GO, GO, GO!
Putting up the Christmas tree was of great interest to him, although he has not tried to climb it, which surprises us. He has mostly ignored the ornaments since then, so I guess that's a good thing! He brings me toys and paper balls all day and will play fetch forever. I try to tell him I'm WORKING, but he always wins out :)
Your whole organization is so wonderful and organized and does SUCH a great job - and our vet was so impressed by all of the medical records that came with him! We had already made SCRC a recipient of our yearly charitable donations, and we will certainly keep it up!

WILLARD
Foster Mom says there is nothing not to like about me! I'm sweet, friendly, easy going, handsome, I like other cats, I use the litter box as I should, I like the sisal scratcher, I have a good appetite, I follow foster mom everywhere, I like to play with the other kitties here -did I leave anything out? Oh yea, I would really like to have a home of my own. What do you say? Do you have room in your home and in your heart for me? Let Foster Mom know if you do.
Love,
Willard

Will is a wonderful cat and Sophie is adjusting to him. She is still chasing him and screaming at him, but he is so patient and just lay's down and looks at her as to say - okay get it out of your system. He will need to have surgery for his leg, because it is getting worse. It doesn't seem to cause him pain, he just walks with a limp. I am so happy that he has joined us. He is always under foot, and loves to watch t.v. and sleep with me. He is my best bow.

GORGEOUS GEORGE
Hi, Are you looking for a cat that gets along great with other cats, dogs and children?? Well, I love everyone so much that I am fully integrated here at foster mom's house now and she can attest to what a great sociable guy I have become! I have come out of my shell here and am always asking for petting and following foster mom around, too! Sweet and soft with short siamese fur, I may be good for someone with light allergies. I'm such a nice guy, won't you please consider giving me a home?
Purrs,
George

Notes from Home
Hi all - I have been with my family for three years this month. It was a tough road getting to this point, but things are wonderful for me now. When I arrived, the resident calico cat Hope decided that she didn’t want to share her space with me and I hid for months! I did come out for food and to use the litter box, but my family and I persevered. A few months later Jasmine (VA5148, a Blue Point) joined the family – she is a cutie, I might add! She took me aside and explained to me I was being silly and I should show the world what a nice fellow I am. So…ever since that time things have been good! I will always be a bit wary of the humans, but my family respects my personality and says that I am sweet and gentle, and deserving of my space. I even enjoy an occasional “scritching†and can purr and knead with the best of them! And, as my given name implies, they say I am still “Gorgeous†too! I totally enjoy spending time out on the screened porch watching the birds, squirrels, and wildlife in the backyard, and soaking in the sunshine. And, can you believe that Hope and I have become the best of friends! A couple of months ago my family added another member to the family – Mahalo (VA6540, a Flame Point). He is just a youngster and we all have had our work cut out for us trying to teach him how to be a part of our family. He is fun to run and wrestle with – although he tends to play a bit rough. He’s a bit of a rascal, too! But, we are straightening him out, slowly but surely!
Life is good now and I am loved – what more could one ask for?
Thanks again to all involved in finding my forever home. George

Four-year anniversary! Wow!
Just a note to let all know that everything is going well here. We are still one big happy family and living the good life. George

Notes from Home
MeiDu has been renamed to Tequila. He is very timid and most of the time prefers to hide under a blanket thrown over a chair. Everyday is a baby step foward, but today after 1 month, he jumped in my lap every time I tried to use my computer to be petted and cuddled. It's a big step foward for him. MaiTai is his anchor right now and forces him to come out and play. Everyday he gets a little more trusting and a little less anxious. He even comes when I call to him if no one else is home. I've included a couple of photos, but not the most relaxed because it's then we don't like to disturb him.

Must be Only Cat

|
Notes from Home
We've renamed Krystal Start to Francesca and/or Frankie Blue Eyes. As expected from a female siamese, she only responds when she wants to regardless of what we call her. Her favorite human is the one feeding her in the morning and again at night. The rest of the time, she's Daddy's girl! A really big personality in a very small package, and when given a choice prefers men to women (she snuggles with Daddy at night)! She's been a very good girl. We picked her up near Culpeper, VA and transported her to Leesburg, FL in a cat carrier. Make that a 16 hour transport. She was a superb traveler. She chatted with us a bit, but mostly slept. Upon arrival, I placed her in our guest bathroom with a litter box, food, water and toys. I opened her carrier and it was EXACTLY as SIri said it would be. She came out of her carrier, inspected her surroundings, ate some, drank some, voided (both) and began to play with her toys. What a trooper! If you'd have put me in a box for 16 hours I'd have had a lot more to say afterwards and it wouldn't have been nice. She spent the night without incident and awoke ready and willing to investigate the rest of the house. We unpacked many boxes and she helped with most of them!
As for behaviors, we've squirted her with a squirt bottle a few times near the exit doors to discourage her from rushing them. We've clipped her back nails without incident, and have some pennies in a can which we rattle when she does something she shouldn't. She doesn't get on the counters or the kitchen table when we are present, however, when we're not at home, we find paw prints on the glass top table afterward. I've placed aluminum foil sheets on the table when we leave to discourage her from walking on the table. Still working on this. Only one bad behavior - she bites the toilet paper roll and does some shredding, but not in our presence.
Overall, a wonderful pet and companion. We adore her. Thank you!

CRICKET
I'm quick as a cricket. At least that is what my photographer thinks. I'm also a tortie toes. That means I look almost all seal, but for a few speckles on my face and a few tiny white toes. I' am lucky enough to have the famous tortie attitude! I am the princess here and everyone may as well accept it. This is my first time away from mom, so maybe my "tortitude" act will fool everyone.
Purrs and demands,

Cricket now known as Sammi is our little princess as we are definitely "her subjects". She is in charge and does as she pleases. She loves to help me answer emails, do laundry and take a bath. She is also the guard kitty and growls when a stranger pulls up to our home. She is a total joy to have in our home and we just love her immensely.
