Fogo is quite the loverboy. He's never met a lap he didn't want to sit in for extended periods of time. He and Samba are both getting on very well with my dog. Lots of purrs and nuzzling and snuggling at my house!

SAMBA
Cute, outgoing, playful and lots of fun! What more could you be looking for in a meezer?

I need a playmate when I go home and hopefully you have one just right for me!

I do not like being confined to my carrier, so hopefully you do not live too far away!

Samba is doing great. She is my feisty little warrior princess. She is getting along very well with my dog. She loves to drink from his water bowl instead of her own.

FUEGO
Are you ready for some fire in your life? Then you are ready for ME!

I'm an itty bitty little guy, but have tons of personality, I LOVE to play
and LOVE to cuddle when I finally get tired.

Another energetic kitten or cat is a must, so don't ask about me
if you want just one.

I won't be ready to go home until the end of October, but I will be so
worth the wait.

Notes from Home
Fuego (we kept his name, it seemed very appropriate) joined our family just over a month ago and settled in wonderfully. He is eating well and growing quickly - and keeps us all on our toes (literally, particularly when he's swirling around our feet at breakfast and dinnertime, while shouting at us for not opening the can quickly enough!).

Our meezer quickly became good friends with our tuxedo princess Tessie, who is a few months older than him. Ramsay, our senior kitty, seems to enjoy watching the youngsters' antics, and is teaching them both some manners when they get too boisterous around him.

Fuego loves his younger humans - he can often be found curled up on the top bunk with my elder daughter (we put a cat tree at the end of the bunk bed) when he's not sleeping under the blankets with me or playing with my younger daughter. He is currently recovering from a cold and eye infection (nothing serious) and is very good when we give him his eye drops. He has charmed his new vet and all the nurses, and seems to enjoy his visits there, probably because he is the centre of attention and ends up with lots of new toy mice :)

Thanksgiving was fun - Fuego wasn't fussed about turkey to begin with but has developed a taste for it. We just put up the Christmas tree and the kittens are having fun hiding behind it and knocking the (all plastic) ornaments onto the floor. We've even decorated their downstairs cat tree with their own little tree and attached a bell to the rope.

A huge (belated) thank you once again to everyone who helped us adopt our fiery, furry meezer: Elizabeth, our fabulous interviewer who patiently guided us through the adoption process and fielded about a million questions from me; Nancy, Fuego's wonderful foster mum who kept sending us photos and videos while we waited for him to be ready for transportation; and all the Meezer Express drivers who were serenaded by Fuego during his trip up to NY. We will keep you posted with more updates in the new year!

WILLARD
LOVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now 100% integrated without issues with male or female cats or dogs. He even loves to jump onto your lap for cuddles.
Notes from Home
Willard walked into our home like he 'd been there forever. He is so laid back that it was super easy to integrate him with our female cat and dog.
What a love! He does not like to be picked up, but loves to be petted and snuggled right against his human.
Willard's eye continues to be cloudy. He has been on all types of medication, but to no avail. We made a visit to an opthalomogist and is now on a new medication. We were told that Willard could have had this condition all his life. It may or may not ever clear. It appears that despite the cloudiness, Willard's eyesight has not been affected.
Everyone at the vet knows Willard and he is a favorite. He just sits on the table and lets the vet put drops in his eye. No fuss. Also, doesn't mind nail cutting. The vet calls him "The Big Marshmallow"
Mom calls him "Lardy Willardy".
And, big he is. From a seven pounder when found a year ago, he is now almost fifteen pounds! We have him on a special diet, and keeping him from our other pets' food dishes has been a challenge. He sits by his bowl at five o'clock on the dot waiting to be fed. Our other cat is a picker so we hgave to be vigilant about removing the dish as soon as she's done eating. Otherwise, Willard will gobble it up.
Overall , Willard has integrated well into the family. He has good toileting habits and uses his own litter pan.
He doesn,t play much with toys, stays mostly on the first floor, and sleeps for hours in a sun-sp;ashed area. He is truly an older, laid back, easy going, very friendly eleven year old who is adored by everyone who meets him. This match was truly made in Heaven. Thank you Siamese Rescue for all the time you spent finding the perfect cat for our family.

This cat will not tolerate being with a male cat. Usually this is a male cat.Not with Male Cats

Notes from Home
KoKo has assimilated into our family very well. He likes resting on laps where he can be petted. He recently has decided that our bed is a good place to stay at night. He still is not too sure of Polly when she is excited and will get away from her. They have become used to each other & will go nose to nose often - even lying near each other when people are around. KoKo has adopted Ellen as his favorite human & I come in a close 2nd. He will get into the cat tree & lie there watching out the picture window. He also is loosening up and will play some with the feather stick, long string & the laser pointer dot. Overall he is working out well.

It is now the middle of December 2016 and Koko has been a member of the family for 6 months. It took him 3 months before he would consider sitting in my lap as I suspect he thought it belonged to Polly. Since then, he and Polly sometimes decide to share my lap at the same time & usually Polly will get down and let Koko have the full area. On occasion Polly will try to get Koko to run so she could chase him, but Koko just looks at her & says non-verbally - no way! Koko hasn't learned the days of the week nor the time of the day yet. Ellen gets up & goes to work M-F at 5:30 AM and he wants his morning meal at that time, even on weekends when we'd like to sleep later. We found that if we give him a small bit of dry food early, he will quiet down & maybe not be so vocal for an hour or two, but it is difficult on weekends. We are considering an automatic food dispenser for those times. Koko likes being around Polly & waits for her to come in from outside when she has to go. He also likes to greet Ellen when she comes home from work, but he expects dinner to be provided at that time whether it is 4:30 PM or 5:30 PM, thus more time education is required. Overall hew is a happy cat and we are enjoying his presence.

PEABODY
Hey, I'm feeling like a kitten again! It's so fun just getting to be me instead of having to be a mom! I'm a playful lynx/dilute tortie point, and I'm full of personality. I'm cool with just chillin', or I will play and play with the feather toy. Sometimes I like to talk so that foster mom will talk back and I'll know just where to find her. Then I weave around her legs purring and happy. I'm OK with other cats, but I have to be the boss -- so no in-your-face feline buddies for me. And a calm dog could be OK, too, Or I'd even do great as your one and only! Are you the one who can help me learn to be who I am and help me to live the good life? I would love that! I'm all ready to go to my new home, so get on my list!

This cat will not tolerate any other cats in the home. A dog may still be a possibility though.Must be Only Cat

photo

Notes from Home
Charlie continues to be the head of this household, and has really started to become more social! He has gone on fove play dates with the neighbor's cat and has done extremely well! No hissing or posturing at all, just sniffing and so much curiosity. He has also come to enjoy his God Aunt (my god parents' dog) who is a tiny shitzu barely a pound heavier than Charlie. He will hiss at her when she tries to (play) and wishes she were a kitty! Charlie never stopped being such a good cat with the best manners any cat servant could wish for! He had a bit of a hard time dealing with mom and dad's separation, but is so happy to stay with mom and cuddle up to her when not so sure about all these changes! It took him only a week and two incidents of peeing on the bed in protest to get used to the new apartment. He hs since made it his own and loves having a cat room and all the big windows with windowsills large enough for boh naps and wildlife viewing! He loves when dad visits and totally enjoys going to his god geansparents house where there is so much to discover! He continues to refuse to attach any automatically-moving toys, and just wants to gently sniff and lick them. What a sweet bot he is. He went to the vet two weeks ago to get his rabies and distemper shots and the vet was so impressed with his health, weight, soft shiny coat, and perfect teeth and gums!
I cannot believe it has been two years since this most important member of my family walked into my life. I feel like I have always had him chirping at me for attention and licking my eyelids when i hit snooze on my morning alarm! I coild not be happier to be his forever home ❤️

CLEO
My family's doing down under (the good down under, not the other thing) and the quarantine time frame is just more than I could tolerate, so I'm looking for new digs. I'm in good health but a sensitive gal, and am ready to go - hoping you'll consider me!
Notes from Home
Hi everyone! This is Clio here, (same name, new spelling.) I am doing well in my forever home. My mom is well too.

We are still living in beautiful Porter Ranch, CA. Every morning the first thing we do is go out onto the balcony to see if we get a good sunrise. If we do, mom takes photos. I sniff the air while she does that. She then feeds me, and she has her sacred coffee. Then we chat. Some days I am groomed while we chat. Other days my nails are checked. On Sundays we lie in bed and do nothing all morning.

My doc says I am healthy. We just saw him before Thanksgiving. I could have told him that, but mom insists we get a professional opinion. She's funny that way. To please her, I allow myself to be scooped up and placed in that travel bag, strapped into the seat of her car and hauled into see Dr. Smith every year. Sheesh. I protest loudly every time, but so far, nothing stops mom. She gives me my favorite treats when we get back.

I still chase balls, and the red demon dot. I catch the balls, but still am baffled by the red demon. Oh well. No mice here. That's a pity. I miss the mice in Trenton. (Mom does not miss the mice. What's wrong with her?)

That's about it. There's a couple of photos of me playing my part as queen.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2017.

SUKI
"All I need is love" is my theme song. Nothing makes me happier than a lap to snuggle on, and I'm not shy about letting you know it. I like all people, friendly dogs, and I really want to like other cats, even when they hiss at me. I'm a petite girl, but with a great big heart.

Suki and I are doing just great. ...I am very happy with her...When I first bought her home she was insistent on a 530 am wake up call.
Now she's decided no longer she needs to do that and I have to set my own alarm clock. .lol
She is just now learning not to use claws on my pant legs...thank goodness.Everyone who has met her has fallen in love with her to..
As I have. Suki has her forever home with me...always

TONY
Whoa ... my adoption fell through so I'm back on the available pages. Foster Mom thought I was going to be an 'only' so didn't try to integrate me. But I'm walking around getting to know the residents here. Click on me if you're interested!

Love,
Soprano

(I was found hanging around Soprano's Bar in Melbourne, Florida. For sure, you could give me a better name!)
Notes from Home
This morning Tony was acting lethargic and had some mild diarrhea over night. He did not eat all his food. We took him to the vet immediately and they tested his stool and discovered that he still had hook worm. The vet reviewed his health record and felt there was a problem with the timing of the medicine he had received for this from the vet in Florida. She treated him today with a one time application. He might have additional parasite but she wants to clear up the hook worm first. Hopefully that will do the trick. He also has a swollen right eye which she thinks is likely caused by herpes virus. She applied an ointment that we will apply twice a day for a week. He was such a good patient today! He ate all his food tonight so it's looking good. Just thought you all should know.

Tony had a second emergency visit the next day when his fever spiked. An antibiotic and new eye drops seemed to do the trick. Then yesterday his other eye began to show the same symptoms and the first eye started to worsen. He is eating
but less than normal and lethargic. No fervor still we are off to the vet this am. Will update when we know more.

Update. Tony is being treated for chlamydia. Fluids and antibiotics yesterday and treatments today of both oral and ointment antibiotic. He is eating but avoiding us. Unfortunately the treatments are necessary for at least 3 weeks and he wants no part of them of course! since this can be transmitted to our other cat, we are keeping them apart which is a little more difficult now that they have gotten to be friends.

I understand that symptoms of this bacteria show up 3 to 10 days from contact. In Tony's case, his symptoms began on the third day we had him. You may want to check on all cats that came in contact with him during his journey here either directly or indirectly. It must be very uncomfortable for him not to mention the 3 emergency visits to vet in 3 weeks. We wanted you to know in case this can be avoided for other kitties

Update: I am happy to say that Tony Soprano is doing much better. We finished the eye ointment yesterday and he is enjoying his first quiet day without us pestering him with medicine. Still has 10 more days of oral antibiotics but he is looking and feeling so much better! He is such a sweet and loving little boy and now showing more energy and playfulness. Progress! Crossing our fingers that this time the antibiotic is successful!

Our very sweet Tony is doing great! After several bouts of eye infections, we started a medication to improve his immune system and that seems to be working. Also we found out he had a rare parasite normally found in the Pacific Northwest. We had to special order the pills (5 pills 2 consecutive days, we had the vet do it!) and that took care of it. So he has been free of vet visits for a couple of months and is just the most loving guy! He will throw himself on his back for a belly rub or kiss his brother on the head or sleep with his head buried in my hand or neck. The two adopted brothers get along so well. Rocco is the dare devil and gives Tony ideas. When I catch the 2 of them at some mischief, Tony is shy and worried and Rocca is all innocence. What a pair! We are so grateful to the Siamese rescue for bringing us these two sweethearts. They bring us love and laughter everyday!
