LUCY
A very nice lady found me abandoned in a house. She took me and helped me take care of my babies. They are all grown now and have their homes so I am looking for mine. I am good around dogs as I have been around large ones while raising my kids.

This cat is not suitable for children under the age of 5 (ie 5 and over is OK). This is typically a cat that is shy and a child might scare it, or one that has a potential to bite or play too hardNot with kids under 5

LILY
Busy loving very playful and chirpy female gal who wants all of your attention and prefers not to share, who loves feather wands, loves to snuggle, likes to chirp and trill and follow you around, and absolutely adores my dinner time :) Luckily I like to play so much which helps me maintain my womanish figure (this catnip candy cane is all mine!) If you'd like a partner to play with, sleep with, laze with, race with, and most of all dine with, how about considering MOI! (Dog Curious)

Notes from Home
I’ve enjoyed another year in my forever home and am in good health. I play alot and run around the house supervising my parents. I have to wake them up early for breakfast and always let them know when it’s time to eat. It’s tough to run this whole house but somehow I manage. 😸

Another year of my reign as queen of my forever home! Eight years since my adoption and I am the spoiled queen that I always knew I could - and should - be. Surrounded by my several "thrones" in my different rooms, my cardboard scratchers, my catnip mice, & many other wonderful things, with my staff - Oops! I mean my parents - to wait on me, I am queen of all I survey. Once a year, I make a reluctant pilgrimage to the veterinarian who pronounces me in great health and sends me home to continue my reign. A royal thank-you to the SCRC for making this possible!

It's been seven years since I was taken to my forever home where I am the undisputed queen. My parents say that I have really "come into my own" here as a loving cat who enjoys hanging out with them, even if I am still a little food-obsessed. I have my favorite places to sit here, especially on their laps, and my catnip banana and cardboard scratchers and other little toys. I like to talk to them to let me know what I'm thinking and especially enjoy waking them up early for my breakfast. The volunteers at SCRC made this all possible and I hope that all the other adoptees there get homes that are as special as mine!

Five years ago today, my parents showed up at the SCRC and I adopted them. And I love my forever home! As you can see by my pix, I sleep in all my special places - this one is in the laundry room on a perch specially made for me with an afghan that was specially made for me - I'm soooo special! They feed me all my favorite foods, altho' not nearly as much as I'd like. AND I have a bunch of toys to play with when I'm not sitting looking out windows or screen doors. I even get to sit in the sink and walk the counters, even tho' they really don't want me to do that. My parents love me and I love them and let them know it by sitting on their laps and purring and clamp their noses and put my paw on their face. How could they not love something as cute as me! Thanks to Siri and the SCRC for making it all possible!

It's been two years since I've been able to update all of you at the SCRC. (My parents are stingy with the computer time, even tho' I sit on their keyboards a lot.) I just celebrated by 4th "birthday" here and I love my forever home. While I seemed to settle in without a problem, my parents tell me that it took awhile for me to really show my real personality. I went from being a little aloof and only jumping up on the top of the couch to now being a lap-sitting, purring, kneading lovebug who can be found on almost any piece of furniture in the place. I even go upstairs and sleep with them if it gets cold enough at night. They say the only thing about me that hasn't changed is my love/obsession with food. They are so happy to have me and love me to pieces telling me that I'm the best cat in the world. I'm really happy to be here and am so thankful - as are they - for all the ways that everyone at the SCRC made it possible.

Well, it's Happy Birthday to me! My parents say that today, July 20th, is my "birthday" because it was on this day two years ago that they came to VA, met me, and took me home. What a wonderful day for all of us! I love my home, have my favorite places to sit and sun myself, or look out at the birds, or even go after bugs - I'm a first-class bug killer. I have a bunch of toys, which I can play with to my heart's content; my favorite is the laser pen. My parents pet me and I sit on their laps and purr and sometimes I even sleep in their bed with them (especially when it's cold). They tell me that I am the most beautiful cat in the world and I'm glad that they are so smart! My favorite time is dinner time (some things never change) and I get both wet and dry food and haven't had another UTI since I first got here. Today I even got a little extra because it's my special day. Thanks for my forever home, SCRC! And my parents wanted me to tell you "Thank you!" for being the safe place where I (& other Siamese) could go so that we could be found by our forever families.

Oh, it's wonderful to have a forever home! My parents and I are celebrating my first year with them and we all think that adopting me was the best decision ever. I love my big house, all the places I can look out, the sunny spots where I can lay, the toys my parents give me to play with - my latest favorite is the laser light - and, of course, the great food my folks give me. Most of all, I love my parents because they love me. Besides feeding and playing with me, they pet me a lot and tell me how beautiful I am and I "clamp" their noses to let them know I love them right back! Thanks, SCRC, for bringing me and my family together and here's to many more happy years!

I am now celebrating my 6 month anniversary here with Mom and Dad at my forever home. They think I'm wonderful even if they don't always know what I'll do next. (I am so Siamese!) It's been both easy and hard to get used to my home. I love the fact that I'm now an "only" cat and I'm enjoying the run of the house. Mom and Dad buy me mice to play with, which I love - I think they got gypped tho' b/c they're not real - and they also play chase-the-string with me everyday. I'm allowed on the furniture as long as I behave myself, whatever that means, and I've learned that it's really nice to sit on their laps. Sometimes I get a little stand-offish but there are days I just need time to myself. I did get 2 UTIs and had to go to the vet each time; the vet is a nice lady but I'd rather not go there. The result of that is that I now get to eat canned food, yummy! Mom and Dad think that it makes my coat even shinier and softer and I've lost some weight so I'm now more beautiful than ever. I now also have a really neat "toy" called a drinking fountain. I love it here and what makes it wonderful is that my parents love me! Thank you to the SRC for everything that you did to make this possible! Purrs and love, Lily (FKA Valerie)

Lily (Valerie) has been with us for a whole month. What a great cat she is! In the past week or so, she seems to realize that this is her forever home. Mostly she naps and plays and gets particularly loving when food is in the offing. She has a goofy streak that just makes us laugh, like when she flies across three rooms to slide into the rug at the front door and attack it! Her "stress-related" behaviors have pretty much disappeared; she's not pulling her hair out, making her even more beautiful, and she no longer nips. She still loves her catnip and, while she sleeps mostly on top of the sofa, has taken to sleeping on one of her cardboard scratchers in the evening. Lily is definitely enjoying being the only cat and queen of our home. We are so happy that she is part of our lives.

Thank you for checking in to see how Parker is doing in his new home, one month into his stay ! Parker is settling in just great and we, of course, just love him !!! He still likes his toys that he came to his new home with and also has grown to love our animal pillows and likes running around our home to blow off his extra energy ! He also likes to watch "Animal Planet" - especially, Steve Irwin's show ! All is good and he went to the veterinarian last week for his first wellness check-up and all is good. I will try to attach a recent picture of our new love and thanks again for checking in with us !!!! Update 7-18-16: Parker and I have been together for one year now and are best friends, for sure ! I can't imagine my life without him. He is always glad to see me when I go out for a bit and return, and he's the first thing that I reach for when I wake up every morning. Parker recently went in for his check-up and had his vaccinations all updated and he's doing just fine. One lower canine tooth that had a chip in it when I adopted Parker has now had the enamel on the tooth fill in, so he didn't end up needing a root canal on it, after all (which I was going to have done for him to save the tooth, but it turned out that it wasn't necessary, after all = good !!! ). Thanks for checking up on us and we're doing GREAT !!!!!! Parker is doing great and is still the king of our house hold !!! I can't thank you enough for helping me to get my best friend a forever home with me - his "Mama" !!! I love him more and more each day.....if that is possible. He purrs a lot and is a happy boy !!! Chicken Temptations treats are his absolute favorite treat. Thanks again and I will post a new picture of my baby for all to enjoy !!!!

Bonsai is doing well in his new home. Since he did not seem to answer to his name, we changed it. Ricominciare in Italian means "start over". So we used this for inspiration and now call him Rico. Thank you to Siamese Rescue for all you do and for bringing this sweet boy into our lives.

7/19/18
We found a stray Siamese kitten under our neighbor's deck 1 month ago and have decided to add him to our family. Destino in Italian means destiny. So he is Tino. Rico absolutely LOVES Tino. They have become fast friends. Tino has brought Rico out of his shell even more. It is an absolute joy watching the bond that is developing between them. I have included a picture below for you to see their bond 😊

Wesley is an amazing, friendly, active and funny cat. Anyone that comes over seeks him out. He gets along well with our 2 older cats and keeps them alerts and active. It is very co.mon the see the trio smashed together in a box instead of spreading out all over the house. Since the loss of his mentor Foo he frequently becomes bored and entertains himself by having adventures in the house.

Apollo passed in Oct 2015 after 3 episodes of diabetes, oral disease which the required extraction of most of his teeth, and ultimately blindness following the acute onset education of both lenses. This left him blind and painful. The option to remove both eyes to control the pain was considered but because the rest of his failing health we sadly decided it was best to end his suffering. Apollo was also ha I g difficulty adapting to his blindness opting to hide in the back of a cabinet after him bro g a very outgoing and confident member of the household.

FOO MAN OR JUST FOO
Hi, Swizel here! I'm still settling in with my foster meowm. I've had a kitty cold and am still having a few sneezies, but I'm coming along. Meowm is working on getting my eyes to feel better. I'm a good boy & am looking for just the right home. I'm not good about travel though, so I hope my forever home is not too far away!

Foo is a very happy and well adjusted member of our family . he is always front and center for attention no matter who comes to visit. He has become a big solid boy who only has occasional issues with his weepy eye, It is hard to believe we have had him almost a year. He plays and sleeps with any and all the other cats in our friendly cat group Thank you so much for letting adopt Foo and I am sorry we have been having too much fun to update his page,

Update. We lost our beloved Foo after an epic 8 month battle with upper respiratory disease, cardiomyopathy and 2 kinds of cancer. He he lost his battle with lymphoma of the stomach following ultrasound, endoscopy and chemotherapy. His buddy Wesley (westin) needs a new playmate and we are ready to adopt again after we lost him almost a year ago.

LEGOLAS
Sweet and gentle little purr machine.

Over the cooties and now moved to the BIG FOSTER room. YAH!!!

I'm still just a bit hesitant about hands coming at me, but lapsit with the best of
them once placed on momma's lap.

Loving my wand playtime and sharing nicely with my sisters.

I need a quieter home with another nice playful cat that I can model after.

Gentle, patient pawrents that are willing to continue People Socialization 101. Well,
maybe 102 or 103, by the time I am ready to go home in mid-late December.

Purrs,

1/13/2017 Can barely believe it's been a month already! He's gotten into the routine here and is doing great. We couldn't be happier with him. His older kitty sisters are starting to come around to him, and the younger one has decided he is a pretty good playmate already. We can't believe how big he has gotten in a month - we're looking forward to many more happy days with him!

7/18/2018 Legolas is doing great! He still has plenty of energy, but every evening he waits patiently on the bed to cuddle with his meowma. He is a super affectionate cat, and if you go down to his level he gives head bumps, meows, and just generally loves attention. He has definitely grown into his medium coat, and when he's happy (or scared), he has quite the feather duster for a tail! He plays well with his sisters (most days, sometimes he's a little too much for them and we have to redirect), and has gotten nothing but clean bills of health from his checkups at the vet. We love this little guy so much, and we're so glad to be giving him a good home!

Full of sweetness & ready to play at a moments notice. I am a package deal & go with my brother Tate. We will purr you to sleep at night! Let's see if we can have a New Year's party & start the New Year with a little sweetness in your home!

Notes from Home
I could not have wished for sweeter, more adorable kittens. Raphael is turning into a lap kitten. He curls up on my knees for hours at a time while I’m at my desk, sometimes with all fours in the air. When I have to get up for some reason, I can pick him up in a ball and put him on the chair seat, and he barely wakes up. Then I come back and reverse the process, and he just goes back to sleep. Such a Zen kitty.

He also does the heavy lifting when it comes to my cooking instructions. His sister, Ariel, waits in a strategic location while Raphael winds around my ankles meowing to make sure I get dishes done right, and to the right place, pronto. He leads the escort right to the table. He and his sister almost never object to what’s for dinner. We’re exploring various healthy menu options.

1/28/18
I am just getting to some updates I had on file but neglected to post that go back to January (it's now July (sorry). I am so wrapped in these two! They are the sweetest, most loving, affectionate and smartest (of course) kittens! They love videos and TV, seem to recognize themselves in the mirror (so don’t become aggressive with the reflection), and I think they are learning very quickly. Everything is going very well despite the early morning exploration expeditions to kitchen areas that require a little kitten removal for safety. The initial teething issues Debi described seem to be calming, but with a little gentle disapproval, neither Ariel nor Raphael has been aggressive on this.

7/17/18
Six month adoption anniversary. Ariel and Raphael are now a week shy of a year old, and I have two quite different little characters on my hands. Ariel is an adventurous little huntress and Raphael is a complete lover. Could have named them Diana and Cupid, or Aretmis and Eros.

These kitties are two completely wonderful little beings. They are gentle, loving, talkative, interactive and, depending on how hungry or sleepy they are, follow me around, sleep on my desk, sack out next to me at night, curl up in my lap or otherwise demand ear, chin and belly scratches, each to a different degree. They are starting to like being brushed, tolerate claw clipping (front and back) pretty stoically, but HATE getting their teeth brushed. Too bad, we will persist.

So for Ariel. Two nights ago, I had the window cracked open and a fly got in (better than catnip). I first realized this when I heard the kibble dish slide across the floor and the water dish being overturned. I looked and, yes, my female, Ariel, was the culprit, hot on his trail, and when he flew at my computer monitor she nearly trashed a document I was working on. So I put her down and headed for the bathroom to get a sponge. When I flick on the light the fly follows me and buzzes around the lights above the mirror. Ariel runs through the water and soggy kibble, picks up some stray litter on her paws on the way past the litter box, and jumps up on the bathroom counter, knocking my hairbrush into the toilet. When I bend over to fish it out, she jumps on my back (yes, with wet, littery paws) to get a better whack at the fly. He got the hint and disappeared. I poured myself a glass of wine.

I could not have wished for two more wonderful kitties.

I agree with everything my sister Moon says...I know who wears the nickers in the family! We are a pair & we are well behaved kittens....well for kittens anyway! Better lock down any breakables, as we love to jump & play! Christmas tree....well....

If you're looking for a nice pair of siblings, please consider us! Our foster meowm thinks we are beautiful meezers!

As for Raphael, he appears sometimes not to have a skeleton. He often spends hours on my lap when I’m at my desk. He sometimes wraps his paws around my forearm and goes to sleep, seriously compromising my computer skills. When I have to get up, I pick him up like a pizza box and he barely wakes up. At times when he does wake up, he gets up on the desk, sits on my keyboard facing me, and gives me head butts until I give him my undivided attention. He is inclined to give little love bites, but when I warn him to be gentle, I get a few licks. How do you ignore that?

I could not have wished for two more wonderful kitties.
