UPDATE: 1/3/11

A Poem by Winston entitled "Winston's Wishes".

I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have this wish, I wish tonight.

OH, my wishes I want to express
For my forever home before I go to bed..

I wish for a family who is happy to have,
A big lover boy to sit with them all cuddled in their laps.
On cold winter nights or hot summer days,
It doesn't matter to me as long as I am YOUR cat.

After a hard life on the streets,
I am SO happy to have a warm place to sleep,
A roof over my head and three meals a day,
Make me a happy boy on this or any other day.

I will love you, care for you and give you my heart,
Please "ask about me, so we won't for long be agart.

I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have my forever family some day soon to kiss me every night.

Love form the happy new Poet, Winston

UPDATR - 12/25/10 Hope you all had a Merry Christmas. I did and I was SOOOOOOO happy to be inside and not out in the snow and cold. I've gotten much more active in the past few days since I think I've finally caught up on my sleep. I love to look out the windows and watch what is going on outside, but I don't want to go there any more. I love laps, I love love and I love having my meals served to me inside!!! I am a VERy happy indoor boy now. I'm not real thrilled about the catnip we all got for Christmas, but it was OK. I'd sure love to have a new home for New Years, so if you'd like a big, cuddle bug for the new year, be sure to ask about me. I am a marvelous cat who will make you very happy. Purrs and lap sits, Winston P.S. Be sure to see my new gallery pictures.

Hello - My name is Winston - named after the dignified and famous Winston Churchill because I'm a very dignified cat. I'm SUCH a lucky boy to be all cuddled up here in this warm blanket bed. You see, I spent months on the streets with a Good Samaritan feeding me and watching out for me while I lived outside. I was "once" someone's cat, but who knows why I was out on the streets all by myself. My Good Sam didn't want me to spend another winter outside, so she made contact with Siamese Rescue and helped get me to where I will be safe forever and ever. Because I was so well taken care of by my Good Sam, I am very healthy and a really good weight - amazing for an outdoor boy. I am learning to be an indoor cat again. Mostly, I've just relaxed, slept and eaten well since I got here. You see, I'm making up for months of sleeping outside and never getting a full good night's sleep. I always had to be on "watch" for the neighborhood "doggies" and "other" critters, so I' wouldn't get hurt. I did a good job of that, but now it's time to be warm, dry, rest and relax. Oh, it's nice to be indoors!! Foster Mom says I am a very good boy and I do purr and make buiscuits when she holds me in her arms. I like that!!! If you would like a big (I weigh 12 pounds) warm, cuddly boy for the holidays, please do ask about me. Hit that button. I'd love to be in my forever home for the holidays!! Purrs and headbutts, Winston

Well, patience is a virtue! Winston is now completely integrated and is doing *very* well. He plays with my bengal boys and sleeps on the bed with the girls. He still gets swat every once in a while but he's accepted that as a part of living with girls! :)

Oh my, a month already!

Winston is such a loverboy. He's settled in very well and is definitely one of the family now! He's found his "play" and loves feather toys. He also has the adoration of one of my bengals who thinks he hung the moon (even if Winston doesn't always relish the affection).

CASHMERE
UPDATE - 9/29/10 - It took just a week - now I am out and about in my foster room when my foster parents are around. I've even started to want to play with toys. Just remember, I may be a shy girl, but when I feel better and come out of hiding, I am a BEAUTY and a very sweet girl. I even gave foster mom some nice headbutts today. When you look for a bonded pair, be sure to ask about Blue and me. We are a stunning couple. Purrs and headbutts, Cashmere

Yes, yes, I know - the picture is dark and you can't see me very well. Wanna know why? Well, I wasn't in the mood to pose for pictures for Mama Katie today. She kept telling me I'd look a lot better in my glamour shots if I'd come out from under the couch, but I told her I wasn't going to do it. You see, I'm still new here and I'm still not sure I like Mama Katie very well. Daddy Vic, he's OK but I knew Mama sent him in here to take my pictures and I wasn't gonna pose just because she sent him. You see, I AM Siamese. I was here a year ago with my brother Blue and now we;re back and I'm the one who isn't happy. I'll adjust just like I did before, but it's harder for me since I'm a shy girl to begin with. I really don't like transitions very much, so I'm letting everyone know it. I most likely will need to go home with my brother Blue because he takes care of me and protects me. If you can be patient and have a big heart, you will LOVE me because I really am a sweet girl and stunningly beautiful, just scared to begin with. Love and purrs, Chashmere.

April 3, 2011
Cashmere & her "brother" Blue have made our home their home. Cashmere is very happy here and no longer a shy, scared little girl. My husband built the cats a huge cat tree & Cashmere loves to climb up & down it.
Cashmere is a daddy's girl, although she was just here to try to help me type. She loves to sit in front of the computer--right in front of the monitor!

January, 2011
It has been about two months since we brought Cashmere and her "brother" Blue home. As I noted in Blue's update, Foster Mom Katie warned us that these were "true rescue kitties." She was especially concerned about Cashmere. We thought Cashmere would need a long, long time to adjust to her new home but after about 5 days she started coming out of her hiding place. (She had torn a hole in the box springs in our guest bedroom and went into hiding up in them.) Foster Mom Katie told us not to panic, to just leave her alone and she would eventually come out. Well, it didn't take long! We all were truly amazed at how quickly she adjusted.. I think that she, like her brother Blue, just sensed that this was her FOREVER home--and that we would never, ever give her up.

Cashmere has become our little princess. She is a daddy's girl. It is as if she has always been ours. I think that she is very happy to be here. And, she overcame her shyness very quickly! She even came out during Christmas when we had visitors. She wants everyone to play with her so there isn't any time to be shy.

Cashmere & her brother Blue have taken over our house & we couldn't be happier. !We are so grateful for the opportunity to raise these magnificent creatures. I can understand why some people have lots of cats---and this from former dog people!!

PRECIOUS LEIGH
Very petite snuggly and cuddly. Do you want a lap cat? I love laps, stomachs, and chests. I just want to be close to you. I am a little girl just over 5 lbs. If you think I would fit in your home just click on ask about me so we can get things moving. I need to only go within one days transport. That would be SC at the farthest. Thank you,

We have had Precious Leigh for 6 months now and she is so much a part of our family it feels like we have had her forever. She is a part of everything I do. She is like my shadow. She follows me from room to room. If I'm on the computer she jumps up on my lap and lays down. When I go to bed at night she jumps up on the bed, crawls over onto my chest and falls asleep there. When I turn over to go to sleep she curls up next to me and stays there all night. She still is a little bitty cat, but she has gained almost a pound. She is perfect as far as that goes. We so love her and feel so blessed to have found her. Thank you Siamese Cat Rescue Center for the greatest gift imaginable.
Susan Lake

Well we are celebrating our one year anniversary with Precious today. She has settled in perfectly. In fact , she pretty much runs the home! We took her to our vet last week and she is doing great and even gained another 3 oz. We feel like we have had her forever. She is such a love. She just loves to be held and brushed and petted. She still is my shadow and follows me from room to room and if I sit, she's right there making herself comfortable in my lap. She is such a blessing to us. Thank you again for letting her be a part of our life.

BLUE
My face may be a little sad and I may look like I am begging you to take me home, but that's where I am right now You see, my daddy had me and Chasmere for a year and then he got a new roommate who was allergic to my sister and me. We are back where we were a year ago at Hotel delShue. This is a nice place, but we thought we had gone HOME and now we're back. My sister and I are both healthy and want to be in our OWN home again very soon. We are very good kitties. Foster mom says I'm still a very handsome blue boy. I'm laid back and easy going, but I did find this move a bit tough. It took me a few days to get adjusted, but now I'm starting to smile again. I'm protective of my sister. It would be best if we could go home together, but foster mom hasn't decided yet if that's a 100% thing - probably though. I need to take care of her and she needs me to comfort her when she is scared. Please think about us as we are wonderful kitties who came back to rescue through no fault of our own. Purrs and headbutts, Blue

Blue & his "sister" Cashmere have certainly settled in to their new home. It is as if they have always lived here. I absolutely love these cats--and I thought I was a dog person! My husband loves these cats, too, although he still doesn't admit it. He built the cats a huge cat tree and they act like little monkeys when they are on it.

Blue is my baby. He is never far from my side.

Right now, the cats are sitting by the back door. It is a beautiful spring day, about 70 degrees. The cats love it when the door is open and they can smell everything through the screen. In a couple of weeks they are getting an outdoor playground so they can safely play outside. They are two very spoiled cats & they deserve it!

January, 2011
Well, it has been about two months since we brought Blue and his "sister" Cashmere home. We have always been dog people but these two wonderful cats have changed all that. I can't imagine life without them.

Foster Mom Katie warned us that these were "true rescue kitties." We were prepared for a long, possibly difficult, adjustment period. But, as we are learning, cats are unpredictable. By the end of the first day, Blue let us pet him. The next morning he was sitting in my lap. Cashmere took a little longer, about 5 days. We all were truly amazed at how quickly they adjusted.. I think that they both just sensed that this was their FOREVER home--and that we would never, ever give them up.

Blue has become the king of the house but he is also his new mama's boy. He is such a sweet cat. He follows me everywhere & sleeps right next to me. I think he is happy!

I am so grateful for the opportunity to have these magnificent creatures in my life. And my husband loves the cats as much as I do. At first when I asked my husabnd how he felt about the cats, he said that he wasn't sure yet--but this was after I heard him referring to himself as "Daddy" when he spoke to the cats! And, he is never without a cat in his lap.

JOSIE
Hi there, I'm Rose. I've been in "rescue" for a while. First with a big group of all kinds of cats and dogs, which got me very stressed out. Now I've been rescued again, and it seems better here. Just a few other cats in my room and lots of catnip toys for me. I sure did enjoy them last night and the nice soft bed. I'll have to let you know more about myself as I get used to this place, but meowmy said I seem to like to be petted and rubbed on. Well, yeah, I guess I do, cause it feels so good.

Now all I need is a forever home, which meowmy said she'd help me find. So if you'd like a girl like me with a slightly fluffy tail, just ask about me.

Update: I almost had my forever home but the adopter changed his mind at the last minute, so here I am again. I charmed all the ladies at the vet's office when I had my check up, so maybe you'd like to be charmed, too. Just ask about me and meowmy will fill you in!
Purrs,
Rose

Notes from Home
I'm just updating you on Josie (fka "Rose.) She has fully adjusted to her new home. In fact, I think she thinks that this is *her* apartment, and she just lets me stay here! She is a very active kitty and has high energy. She loves to play. She now has her own kitty condo but prefers brown paper bags. She also enjoys watching "The Real Housewives" on the couch with me after a long day.

I really have no concerns. She has gotten more needy with attention as time progresses, and usually when I'm home all day working on the computer. She has a lot of toys, so I don't know how to subdue some of the neediness. As for health issues, she just tends to have problems with her ears (yeast, wax), so I will probably bring her back to the vet to test for allergies.

Otherwise, she is a happy kitty who usually wakes me up with purrs and head-butts. We are best of friends. :) I'm attaching a photo of Josie waking up in the morning.

OK, what's the deal? I'm a healthy, handsome, lap loving, head butting, purring machine still waiting here at Foster Moms house for my forever home. I'd be happiest as your one and only but if you already have a girl kitty we can talk about it and see if I might like her. I'd love to snuggle on the couch with you and follow you around the house and help you with your chores. Oh! And thanks to a generous donor (thanks Christina and Peter:)) I have a reduced adoption fee. Pretty sweet, huh?

So what are you waiting for? I'm ready to go home as soon as you are ready for me.

Love,
Gino

Notes from Home
I picked Gino up from his Foster Mom in North Carolina on Friday, 02, April. I must admit, he did exactly what I would have done had I been a passanger & not the driver. He slept the entire way! We stopped in West Virginia for the night and continued our drive home Saturday. Once again, he slept. There was about 5 minutes that he meowed, so I stopped & gave him some water and continued on home with my sleeping cat. I would choose Gino as a travel companion over most people! Once we got home, it was as if he knew he was home. He explored his new surroundings & quickly adapted. HE KNEW HE WAS HOME! He likes to sit by my feet when I am at the table or my desk. When I'm in the kitchen, he keeps me in his sight. If I happen to be walking near where his bowls are, I better watch out because he will run me over! Kevin & I knew upon finding Gino, he had to be ours. I would have driven any distance to bring Gino home & would do it all over again. Gino has brought so many laughs to me already, I look forward to the many, many years he will continue to bring us happiness.

04/16/2010-Gino had his check up with the Vet this past Monday. All is well. Dr. Anderson chuckled & said he has never seen a Siamese as large as Gino but said he doesn't think he needs to go on a diet :) That's my boy! Thought he might eventually have problems with hairballs due to his shedding so we now have a laxative on hand just in case. Think we'll attempt a good brushing this weekend. For the past several days the living room furniture has been moved & covered due to painting. Gino seems to think I have made him a giant jungle gym. He is such a funny guy!

05/05/2010 Gino & I went on a little trip last week to visit family. He is doing very well & continues to show me many different sides of him daily. While we were away, he mistook Grandpas house as a giant jungle gym! When I would go up or downstairs, he would cry. Always waiting for me right at the stairway door either on the fridge or table. He follows me around everywhere I go. Including the bathroom. When I close the door, this little paw appears under it. Instead of sleeping on my desk keeping watch on me, Gino has began sleeping with me on a regular basis, usually across both legs so I can't move. I'm so glad to have him there with me, I don't move him & sleep uncomfortably :) He has had several good brushing, we make a game of it & he does quite well. The drive we made to Grandpas was 9 hours each way, the way there, he slept under my seat. The way back 7.5 out of the 9 hours was spent sleeping on my lap. When I stopped, he would go into his carrier by himself as if he knew exactly what I was going to do. Just wanted to let everyone know we both are doing great. I know he misses his foster mom Kathy, but knows this is where he belongs. He sends her xo's

03/31/2011 Where does the time go? In 3 days, it'll be a year since I brought Gino home and a wonderful year it has been. He continues to bring my heart much happiness and many smiles to my face. He never ceases to surprise me and has become quite a cuddler. Labor Day weekend a little black fluff ball was delivered to our home, he was approximately 8 weeks old & fit in the palm of my had. His name is Jackson, Gino's new brother. As like Gino but under different circumstances, Jackson was rescued after being abandoned by his mother in the dreadful summer heat. With Gino having about 15+ pounds on Jackson ;-) and not too sure how he would react to someone else being in his home, I had to keep them seperated (especially while at work) and slowly introduce them to one another. Jackson thought that the giant walking toy was just amazing, however, Gino thought the munchkin was a niusance and they both still feel that way almost 7 months later. Actually, Gino is such a good big brother to Jackson. I'll walk into a room and the two of them will be all snuggled up to one another. In the middle of the night when the household should be fast asleep, they will come into my room, jump on the bed and play. I just love both of my boys! Gino shares everything with Jackson & Jackson shares nothing with Gino. Nothing except his energy and that's only shared on him. I have some recent photos of Gino but got an error when trying to upload them just as soon as I figure out what went wrong, I'll post them. This has been a great year for us and we look forward to so many more together. We'll be checking in again soon. Gino sends hugs & kisses to his foster mom Kathy. We talk of her often & I won't let him forget her.

SULLY
Vrrrrroooom! Mhhhrrrrr! Mhhhrrr! Vrrrroooom! Yep, that's me - play, play, play! I just can't stop. Have to go, go, go, GO! I'm one souped up Meezer, raring to hit the starting line for the race, the chase, the toys, the other cats. Errrrr... I like other cats... why won't they play with me? I even like the dog, but I can't get him to DO anything! That feather toy that flies through the air is pretty great - keeps me going and going. Sometimes I just have to sit and watch it a little to make sure it's behaving, and then when it doesn't - WHAM! I got it! Sometimes when I want to play too much with the other cats and they don't want to, I have to go into time out. That's just frustrating! But I'm learning a little. OK maybe I'll take a nap now... but just a short one... because I've got to go, go, go, GO!

Update: I had my vet exam, and I'm a healthy guy! I could have told them that myself. Vet thinks I'm about 1 year old. Who knew? So happy birthday to me! I'm 1!

Notes from Home
Sully is doing amazing!! He has come sooooo far. This past weekend was the big test but he did as expected. There was some hissing & running but they have all settled down now.. We leave him out all day with no issues what so ever. He is going to be just fine! Pasha & him are playing like crazy, him of course more than Pash b/c of his kitten energy but when Pash is done he just runs around after the toys or what ever catches his eye... He does try to play with Sabra & Pandi but they're not into it so he than goes looking for Pash. We are taking allot of pics & soon will be loading them on the computer to share. The eye drops are going sooooo much better than I ever thought. I hold him & his little eye open while Joey drops in the drop. he does very well. He loves the "nums" as I call them for his joints/leg & also immune system. To me it seems like his walking so much better. He can actually jump up on the counters now.. not that Joey's happy about that but to me it's normal, giggle He sees Pash doing it & I could tell he was determined to do the same. He still doesn't like to be told what to do & when he's done with the lovin he lets me know by making a little sound & I know than it's time to let him down or else.. giggle. He doesn't sleep with us all night but he does come in & lays down next to me for a while but he's always gone when I wake up the next time.. soon I hope that will change!!
>
> I wanted to thank you for choosing us! : ) He is an amazing little guy, we are so happy he is part of our family.

BOO BOO BEAR
I'm a very nice gentle boy, I enjoy laps, I enjoy being petted (on my terms of course) & I'm looking for a forever home that won't throw me out on the streets like my previous owner. I've washed my previous baggage (I mean owner) out of my fur & am looking for someone to love me for many years to come. Don't let me only having one eye scare you away...just think of me as always giving you a "wink" ;)...having one eye does not keep me from doing anything I wanna do!

So please ask about me if you feel we could "click"!!
I am looking forward to chatting with the families that ask about me.

Purrs & hugs,
Boo Boo Bear

Oh how time flies so quickly. Yes, it's one month since Boo Boo (Bear) became a member of our family. We love him more and more each day. He's become the master of our house and we wouldn't have it any other way. He has an amazing personality. He is very friendly and welcoming to our friends who come to visit and lets everyone pet him. He is so determined when it comes to his food. Boo Boo knows we keep his food in the pantry and he will sit and wait by the pantry door each morning at least an hour before we wake up. If you are not in the kitchen around his dinner time, he will search for you around the house and use his front paws to pat at you until you start heading to the kitchen. I took the advice of the vet and started giving him a heaping tablespoon of yogurt every night. Boo Boo really loves it. I also give him bits of deli turkey meat while we watch the late news together. Boo Boo is not enhralled with catnip, but he sure loves his plastic balls with the bell inside. He puts them in his mouth and carries them all around the house. He loves when you play fetch with him. As a matter of fact, the only time Boo Boo will run is when you throw one of his balls and he goes after it. Otherwise everything else Boo Boo does is in slow motion, just like my husband and I. What a match!!! Boo Boo bakes biscuits everynight on my pillow at bedtime. I have a fleece cover on my pillow and he absolutely loves it. His baking lasts about twenty minutes each night. Sometimes he gives himself a shock from the friction he creates. It's so funny to watch when that happens. Boo Boo also has a very funny obsession with his tail. He will wag it back and forth, then growl at it and grab it with his paws to stop it from wagging. The vet checked his tail but could find no reason for this odd behavior except to say that Boo Boo is probably just playing, or like most people, may suffer from a minor case of OCD. My husband and I are so mad at Boo Boo's first owner who mistreated him. This beautiful animal should have been treated like royalty, because in our house Boo Boo is a King. We love him so much!! Thank you Virginia Siamese Rescue for bringing him to us.

BLUE
My story? The usual - moving. My family got a new home, but my "siblings" and I got a shelter cage. I lived with other cats and a dog, and foster mom says I'm very friendly. I came out of the carrier after my ride from the shelter purring and talking. I just got here, and more information (and new pictures) will come very soon. I'm a very fiendly guy, love people - I'd probably love you too, so why not ask about me?

I'm too friendly, foster mom says. I love her so much I won't let her take pictures of me because I want to be right on top of her!

I can't believe it's been 6 months since Blue came into our home! He is a complete joy, and has been more wonderful than I could have possibly imagined.

Blue came to us as "Elijah Blue", but he answers to "Blue" and the abbreviated version fits him much better. Blue is one laid back cat! He adapted immediately, and there were never any issues with my 15 year old Siamese, Lightning. I wasn't sure how Lightning would take to another cat in the house (we lost his brother back in January), but any worries were misplaced. Blue is MUCH larger than Lightning, but with his laid back disposition, he allowed Lightning to keep his role as head meezer, and quickly won all of our hearts.

Blue is not very vocal (unless he thinks we forgot about breakfast!). He follows me from room to room, and purrs as soon as he sees some pets coming. He likes to sit next to me rather than on my lap, but that may be in deference to Lightning - it seems they worked out some kind of arrangement on who gets to sit where! He's great company. He's had a perfect checkup with the Vet, who guesses his age at 7. He had his teeth cleaned, and it was suggested that he slim down a bit. That one will be a challenge!

I have a 3 year old niece who visits quite often, and she has also fallen in love with Blue. She calls him "SkippyJon" from her favorite book, SkippyJon Jones. Blue very good naturedly puts up with the attention from a 3 year old, and is helping to teach her how to care for a meezer.

From Blue's 6 month anniversary report - please take a look at the photos, and I think you'll agree - it's all good! Everyone here is quite happy!

One Year!!
Today is Blue's one year anniversary and a good time was had by all! We celebrated with a special "supper" for him, after an especially good game of chase the feather. Great news also - he's looking forward to the arrival of his new friend Sapphire, who will be coming home at the end of the week. I've attached a glamour shot of Blue, posing by a candle. He's a sweet, sweet, laid back cat, who really enjoys a good meal, lots of pets, and some toys to chase.

NIKITA
Well life is looking up! For the longest time I had trouble getting along with the other cats - they just couldn't keep up with me. That was it, literally! You see I'm quite energetic and I love to play. And the other cats, well, they just didn't appreciate my 'tomboy' attitude. And then along came Kobe. HUNKA HUNKA! We started having a grand old time. He was followed shortly thereafter by Snowden. WOOOHEEE! He's fun too! So give me a pal to play with and life will be good! And if you choose me, Aunt Siri says I could even bring along one of those other two at no charge! What a deal!

Notes from Home
HELLO FROM NIKITA...1st ADOPTION NOTE (the trip to my new home)... It was a long trip from VASC to my new prospective home and I was very scared,12 hours in a car, rain pouring down and being transported from car to car(Virginia to Connecticut). I didn't know if the rain would ever stop. After arriving at final destination " new home" I briefly said hello to my soon to be adopted mommy and then disappeared on her for about a month. THAT IS NO LIE!!!!!. I didn't know whether I was going to adopt her or not, even though she was nice, talked to me from a distance, and kept trying to find me. She even played hide and seek my way for about three weeks. She left plenty of food and water for me, so I could eat and drink all day, while she was at work. She even bought me a litterbox and that cleans itself, so my beautiful paws would not get dirty. She had the patience to let me make the decision when I was going to adopt her. I would sit in the big bay window waiting for her to come home from work and let her see me as she drove in the driveway. After about two weeks I let her play with me though the glass window. NO PERSONAL CONTACT...NOPE,...NOT UNTIL I KNEW SHE WAS GOING TO BE MY FOREVER MOMMY. I DID NOT WANT TO BE HURT AGAIN. ALL I WANTED WAS LOVE.
She also had a Keeshound and I played with him when Mom was away. Well now, I love my new stepbrother "King The Dog" and so I decided to accept her as Mom too. King told me I would like it here.
King and I play chase every day. We chase from one end of the house to the other. King tackles me and pins me down and I let him. I am so quiet and then without a cry, I wiggle out from under him and away we going running through the house again until we get tired. Aunt Siri always said I was a tom boy. Then we go to sleep on the sofa.
I was a scratcher when I came here and boy did I get yelled at. MOM HAVE A LOUD VOICE WHEN SHE WANTED MY ATTENTION. I have since stopped scratching, BUT NOT BEFORE TEACHING KING TO SCRATCH. He got in bigggggggggggggg trouble. He scratched the leather sofa and love seat, you should have heard Mom. By night-fall he was back in her arms. See my pictures with my new brother. Mom had a problem with the camera, since we are always on the move. Maybe, I'll pose for her to take some nice pictures in the future...(March 28, 2011).
