Notes from Home
Hi SCRC-
SIX MONTH UPDATE: I guess we hit the jackpot. What an incredibly wonderful, affectionate, funny, active, vocal, youthful, sociable and healthy pair of incredibly bonded 14 year olds! Have I left anything out? They seem to be so comfortable that they're starting to be a little naughty, but it's all happy cat stuff and we can handle 'em! And of course we've all been incredibly, historically snowbound, so all cats and humans in this vicinity are just coming out of extreme cabin fever as the snow piles shrink.

Harry now howls for playtime constantly, into which Kyrie immediately inserts herself. Favorite toy: their SCRC wands, with which they arrived here. Harry is clearly a lion, in attitude and stature, but Kyrie is pretty nimble and ferocious as well. Kyrie's excess weight seems better - she is just built like a basketball. Nighttime sleeping arrangements are double bunking in their SCRC leopardskin bed, which somehow stays at the foot of our bed without falling off. Harry spends some time under the covers, but eventually misses his sister. Kyrie is the latest sleeper in the family, and holds out until breakfast is served.

Since Harry and Kyrie came with their vet records, we took the liberty of sending a photo Christmas card to Dr. Erin Smith in Williamsburg to thank her for saving them and getting them to you. She wrote back, "I really do appreciate your note - it is great to have good news, especially around this time of year. My staff absolutely loved the pictures!!"

One Year Update:
Kyrie is doing wonderfully. She is active, loving, inquisitive, talkative, playful and hysterically funny. She sees the Vet tomorrow, and we will report any issues, but none are expected. She was a touch on the portly side when we got her, but she looks trim now. We must also make references to her brother Harry, because they are a team and are completely inseparable. She adores him. Her most important activity every day is grooming him. He loves it and returns the favor, if he can stay awake. She has trimmed his whiskers and eyebrows to about 1 inch length. Maybe that is to keep him out of tight spaces, into which he loves to careen when he is romping around. Kyrie has the silkiest fur and keeps it beautifully groomed. She has a sharp, demanding and quite comical voice. If we ignore her demands, she adds syllables. Chow time is usually preceded by quite a duet. She is a very loving girl with us. Kyrie has a funny flopping technique; she climbs up beside us on a seat and topples backward against our side. She uses her paw to grab our hand and pull it down so that we will both hold her back foot and scratch her belly. Go figure -

We will always be grateful to Siri and SCRC for making a very convincing argument that these were wonderful cats to adopt, in spite of their advanced age. It seems to us that they just needed someone to pay attention to them, and perhaps never got that except from each other. Just a hunch. We are all very much in love and we expect to have many happy years together.

Oct. 4, 2016 - We're just having a love fest up here in Massachusetts. We wonder every day how we were so fortunate to have adopted Kyrie and her brother Harry. (Can't mention one without the other, as they are utterly inseparable). Really, these two are outstanding cats in every respect. Thank you Siri - you really nailed it when you suggested that potential adopters should not be concerned about their ages (13 at the time) and should consider their good health and personalities. Kyrie and her brother are quite at home and well adjusted. They are so well-adjusted that they are learning how to push our buttons and be a little naughty! They crave affection and attention, which are NOT in short supply here, and are comfortable with visitors. All's well - exceptionally well - on the second anniversary.

MILLY
I just got here but I already like to give head butts and be petted. Life is good.
Notes from Home
Milly (aka Brystal) is settling in well. She already has let our Westies know that she is the boss. Super friendly to everyone who has been to visit-- both my son & grandson wanted to take her home with them. Took her to the vet today for her runny eye & nose. Vet gave her a clean bill f health except for the viral infection of her eye & nose and her swollen leaking breasts ( vet felt because she was 1/2 way thru her pregnancy when spayed, her body hasn't adjusted to not having kittens yet.

Miss Milly Kitty is doing great. She loves lounging on the benches n our sunroom watching the birds and squirrels and batting the dogs as they walk by. She gets along well with both dogs as long as they remember she is the boss. She generally sleeps on our bed and when the dogs wake up in the crates in another room and bark asking to go out, she comes and let's us know they are ready. Then she will watch from the door or w dos whoe they do their business and occasionally try to escape and go with them. She use her cardboard scratching pads but occasionally has to be reminded by water pistal not to use the furniture or rugs, she is very curious and friendly and greets all guests at tHe front door. She is an absolute delight and very much part of our family.

MIss Milly s doing great. She had her annual check up & shots last week and the vet says she is a perfect weight & one fof the friendliest cats she has ever met. Everyone loves her (except maybe our youngest Westie who still is jealous however still usually gets along with her).

dancer (now fawn) is doing wonderful! she stays at my side all of the time, and is endlessly curious as to what is happening. she always greets guests when they arrive, and loves to sit in the window and watch people walk by during the day (especially when the window is cracked and she can smell all of the smells!). her favorite toy is her wand toy that siri sent her home with- she loves to drag it around the house and bring it into bed with her. she is still a bit unsure about whether or not she wants to snuggle, but is slowly warming up to cuddles. she LOVES head scritches and will give your hand a loving swat if you're close enough and not scratching her head. she has a great attitude and is such a delight to be with <3

SAILOR
I am *one* of those boys. A hugger, a lover, and what I lack in the traditional look department I make up in the sweetness.

I have a story...probably a few. The vet thinks I am about 5 give or take a couple. I got the dreaded kitty cold from being worried in the shelter but I'm on the mend now.

So far, other cats around are just fine with me...the easy going ones are the best. Yes, I use the box...and no I don't scratch anything.

Pictures coming this weekend if I'm not blowing nose bubbles!

Can I be your Sailor man?

Notes from Home
Just wanted to give a little update on Sailor. βš“πŸΎπŸ˜»
He is adjusting very well. He has his special places where he likes to rest during the day but when night comes its time to go to sleep in the king size bed with mommy. When mommy gets up in the middle of the night he takes advantage of the moment and jumps in the tub. That is my que he wants water to drink. Did I mention he has a bowl of fresh water by the tub? He bypasses it. Lol. What he doesn't realize is I pour the water from his bowl in the tub and he drinks away. Lol This is a regular episode every night. He is so cute.
Each week I get to see a little more of Sailor's personality. So until next update..Meow from Sailor β€πŸ˜»βš“πŸΎ

Hi Everyone :)
In 5 days, October 7th, it will make 5 months Sailor is with us. He had a rough 3 1/2 months with being sick but I am happy to report he is very healthy. He is settled in and has his daily routine. After I give him breakfast, he walks to the french doors leading out to the screen porch and voices to us he wants to go outside. He is a talker, which we love. When he isn't happy with something he will voice it, with a growl. I didn't understand him, when he first arrived, but now I understand, it is how he communicates, which is absolutely fine with us. He loves hanging out on his cat tree on the screen porch. He runs into the 2 story house, John made, when he sees mommy coming to bring him inside, at the end of the day. He loves his little baby sister Emilie. In the 5 months Sailor has been with us, he didn't play. Just the other day, I observed him playing with Emilie and I stopped what I was doing and watched with a smile. John and I are designing an indoor cat tree just for Sailor. Sailor was declawed when I adopted him and with all the research out there, no one makes a cat tree for declawed cats. The steps are narrow and not wide enough to climb to the other levels, without having claws. We are getting supplies, today, to make one with wide steps and spaced out for easy jumps. We hope to have it built by next weekend for his 5 month anniversary. John will cut the wood and the large cardboard tubes and I will help with carpeting each piece. I will post a picture once it is completed. Hope you enjoy the new pictures I am posting. You will see a difference in Sailors appearance. He is one healthy happy kitty in Spring Hill, Florida. :)

AURORA
Turned in to the shelter with my two gorgeous kittens without so much as a note :( It was very scary at the loud shelter, but now that I'm with foster lady I'm quickly learning that its safe to let my real, sweet and loving personality come out.

I just need a few days for you to earn my trust and then I'm all purrs and headbutts.

Notes from Home
Today is our one year anniversary with Miss Aurora. She is a wonderful addition to our family. She is in perfect health and has perfect manners. When Aurora first came to us, she cried and hid under a bed for several days. She eventually came out, explored the house, met all of us and decided to stay.
She is affectionate, loving and very playful. Her favorite toy is a wand toy with feathers on the end, which she drags around the house, meowing nonstop, until she finds a human to play with her.
Aurora loves treats, being brushed, chatting, napping on a cozy bed and snuggling with her humans. She has very little patience with humans on a phone, using a computer or reading a newspaper. After all, she is the one her humans should be focusing on.
We adore our little girl and are so grateful to everyone at Siamese Rescue for allowing us to adopt this wonderful cat. Special thanks to LaShawn, who took our baby in after she was found abandoned with her 2 kittens, and showed her that the world really is a safe place with some really great humans in it!

LATTE
By Golly, it's Molly!!!!!

Molly has just arrived, but is already making herself at home. She is sweet, affectionate, and loves a lap. She is laid back enough for kids and a somewhat busy home, while maintaining her sense of silly. She's looking for her purrfect forever home!
Notes from Home
Latte has been living with us for six months now.
She is so lovely, gentle and sweet cat. Especially she is so friendly to my daughter. When my daughter comes back from school Latte greats her at infront of door all the time.
She loves food.Yes! She gained her weight. Now she is on gentle diet. ;)
Very healthy and playful. She loves colorful string and string hanging with small mice.
We are trying to make her exercise more often in these days to prevent to be a fat cat.
Her nick name is "roast chicken". Because she likes to show her whole belly with stretching two arms and two legs to the sky. Ha Ha.
We are very happy. Thank you so much!!!

LILA
Sweet girl who is good natured and very affectionate. Playful and interactive. Lap kitty on her terms but loves to be petted and wants to be nearby supervising.
Somewhat tolerant of non dominant female kitties and would do best with a laid back male. Has met dogs and would get along with slow introduction to a "not in your face" type of dog.
Lots of FLUFF.

Lila is fitting right in with us. She was skittish as first as to be expected but is now very friendly and will even let me pick her up. She likes to be near but not yet up to lap sitting. She is quite relaxed and playful and enjoys batting around one of the many toys that came with her. We are very happy she has joined our family

EMILIE
Just arrived. More information soon.
Notes from Home
4 weeks update : Emilie is blossoming into a beautiful loving kitty. She has many interest: She is in the modeling business and loves to pose for pictures mom takes. She is AKA "Tornado Destructor" as she is now in the Interior Designing business and rearranges the bed pillows to her liking, EVERY MORNING, LOL . She has a mentor. Sailor, my adoption 5 months ago. She follows him around and feels safe if he ventures out of the bedroom, you can predict she isn't far behind. She loves to play with the Turbo Scratcher.. I have to take it out of the bedroom at night, or mom will not get any sleep. One morning she was playing with it at 3 AM. lol. Last night she woke me up wanting to cuddle, which was a first. She is a cutie both inside and out! She was meant to me a part of our family, as well as Sailor's little sister.
