ZUZU
I am a quiet gal that was found by a shelter & they found me a very nice temporary foster mom until my spot became open with Siamese Rescue. I was very loved and my temporary foster took special care of me & helped me overcome my initial shyness. Now I'm here with my new foster mom & I'm telling her about myself, but it takes me a little time to warm up, so just stay tuned for updates.

I don't mind other cats & I have spotted another new foster across the room that looks kinda cute, so maybe I could have a friend to come home with! His name is Yoshi.
I do not like dogs & small children scare me, so I hope you have a home that does not include dogs or small children because I am looking forward to spending quiet nights at home with you by the fireplace to keep us cozy & warm!

I am keeping my paws crossed that I will be your New Year's Resolution!!

Purrs,
LuLu

Hello! Just a quick note to let you know that LuLu has been renamed ZuZu. Since she arrived @ the center on Christmas Eve, and I love the Christmas movie "It's A Wonderful Life", she has adopted the name of one of the little girls in the movie.

On Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, ZuZu's 3rd and last med was administered by her vet @ the Animal Clinic of Bayonne. She was also given a quick checkup and her being microchipped was confirmed. ZuZu was a great patient & was highly complimented.

Notes from Home
Wow, what a year! First Mom forced me into a car and took me to this awful woman who kept poking and prodding me. And then, out of the clear blue, she stuck me with a needle! And I was being good! Then she said to Mom, “Well, he’s lost eight ounces.” I thought, okay, now this is clear. She’s going to explain to Mom that I’m moments from starvation and require a waterfall of treats. That will make this awful experience worth it. Then she says, “He needs to lose another pound, and then we’ll revisit.” What? What did she say? I must have heard her wrong because it sounded like I’m going to get FEWER treats. (Eds. note: That was last spring, and he’s getting slim! Slow but steady! Of course, it’s hard to tell because his belly is always close to dragging on the floor since his legs are only—) Hey! That’s enough of that topic.

Then there was the groomer. It was just awful. For a moment I thought I was free—I escaped, and I ran all over the office and knocked lots of papers and things onto the floor. But she caught me, and she took me into a back room and…brushed me! And cut my nails! Okay, granted, it doesn’t sound so bad when I put it like that. The next time, I sat in the waiting room with my head in Mom’s purse. I thought nobody could see me, but I think people were making fun of me. On the other hand, I came home during the holiday season with a red-and-green bow, and Mom just thought it was the cutest thing ever. So even though Mom had put me through this awful ordeal, I was super nice about it and let her take a picture. You’ll see it.

Then there was the snake. I tried and tried to tell her:

Me: There’s a snake in the basement.

Mom: What’s the matter, little boy? Are you hungry?

Me: Yes! I mean, yes, but I’m not in the kitchen, I’m in the basement. There’s a snake down here.

Mom: What are you doing down in the basement? You’re not having litter box issues, are you?

Me: THERE’S A SNAKE IN THE BASEMENT, RIGHT HERE BEHIND THE FURNACE.

Mom: Maybe I should take you to the vet.

Here I am, trying to defend the household, and Mom threatens to take me back to Evil Needle Lady. I tried to befriend the snake instead, but it turned out he couldn’t open the cat food (no opposable thumbs).

On the other hand, there are treats (but never enough). And mylar wand time (but never enough). And once in a while, when Mom has been very, very good, I get into bed and put a paw on either side of her neck and curl up behind her and purrrrrr (Eds. note: but never enough!). Oh, and during warm weather, we have Grand Adventures. Mom says I have to assure you that we have fully supervised walks in the back yard only, but it’s not true. I mean, yeah, Moxie and I let Mom tag along since she seems to want to, but we don’t need her. Because we are Fearsome Jungle Beasts. (Eds. note: Yes, there is a serious danger when Puck goes outside that the birds might laugh themselves silly and fall out of the tree.) Hey! You see the abuse I have to put up with? Anyway, you’ll see those photos, too.

Overall I guess we’re doing okay. But I have the ASPCA on speed dial, just in case!

Abbie and Crosby are thriving. They love to play with their many toys and scratching posts. Such good babies! They love each other and keep each other company when I am at work. I feed them twice a day and they seem happy and content with that routine. "Also, they have adjusted very well to my routine. As soon as I turn off the lights at night the jump on my bed, groom each other, and go to sleep; until it is time to get up and play! I am so grateful for the love and care, Emily, the foster mother gave them while they were waiting for me. They make me want to come home every evening. My litte companions! I am uploading some pictures.

LIBBY
It's almost Christmas. Are you dreaming of sugar plums yet? Well you don't have to just dream about them - you can adopt one - I'm Libby and Foster Mom says I'm a sugar plum.

I came from a home where my Mom loved me very much but couldn't afford to take care of me. She got me into Siamese Rescue because she wanted to make sure that I got a good home.

I'm a full figured girl and need to lose some weight but Foster Mom says that with the right kind of good food, I'll slim down quickly. I'm young and healthy and oh so cute. I've got very dark fur, an adorable pink nose and pink toes too and big blue eyes.

I'm a little scared of my new situation but even though I'm still hiding a little bit, I come out and let Foster Mom love me. I purr and headbutt her and then roll over so she can rub my belly. I am a very sweet girl.

If you could ask about me before Christmas that would be good because I heard Foster Mom talking about sugar plum fairies and maybe making me a cat tutu. I think I'd look adorable but a girl has got to retain her dignity!

Libby is a great cat!! She is very loving!! Unfortunately, we had to go back to the vet because she keeps vomitting. She hates going to the vet. The vet had blood work done, urine tested, stool sample tested, and an xray. It all came back being normal. Now, I'm trying to see if she is allergic to the type of cat food she is eating.

Brie is a wonderful cat. On her own, with no other cats around, has really given us a much better sense of her true personality! She's not quite the wallflower people thought she seemed to be! Brie greets people at the door and wants her head to be pet or scratched.

When Brie first arrived, she made herself at home within 45 minutes of getting here. She did not want to be kept in one room at all, I guess because there were no other kitties here! The first few days she did sit in my lap, but once she realized I was around most of the time, she decided to sit on my son or husband instead. Brie can be a "freshy" when she wants...you can only pet her so much then you either get a gentle swat or a friendly nip; nothing harsh, just a "leave me alone now" warning. If you don't take heed, what a look she'll give you!

I know she gained about 1lb at the shelter and another 1lb with us, but her vet said that it's okay since Brie is very large boned girl. She is not a high jumper...our bed or kitchen table is as high as Brie wants to jump. Yes, she's allowed on the table and helps my husband Tom "read" in the morning! If I don't get up early enough to suit her, I get a meow in the ear, or my hair pulled!

Brie has the biggest true blue eyes I've ever seen. Out of all the toys I bought her, she only plays with two of them and only when you'll play along! All the extra toys and beds went to our local cat shelter; Brie likes sleeping on our bed, living room carpet or the rug in front of the kitchen sink!

Brie is such a joy; I have never had a Siamese cat with such a unique personality!

So now Brie-Ann rules the house hold! :)

Hi, it's Jan/2012 & my meowmom got me a step brother. His name is Eli and he'
s 10yrs old. We didn't know if we were gonna get another kitty because I turned out to be a "queen", but my meowmom said "lets do it" & we found the perfect guy. Eli is a submissive male & can "read" me really well! He knows when to leave me alone and when he can come sorta close to me. Eli & I have it all worked out! I like watching what he's doing! Eli is a curious, snoopy cat & his antics are very amusing to me. There's plenty of room here for both of us, so when I have a grumpy attack, we both have our "own space". Meowmom is gonna try to attach a picture of Eli so you can all see that I'm still the pretty one. I'm a applehead & he's a wedgy...plus Eli has these really long, skinny legs; my cousin Kristin says he has giraffe legs...lol.

Ok, that's all for now!

MEKO
Hi everyone,

Well, the holidays went by and Im still here. Im having a good time but I would like to find a new family and get out of this room. Ive been out with the residents and I must say I dont like any other cats one bit. I will look around for a little while but when I see one of those other critters, I box their ears so they know not to mess with me. They yell a lot and run and hide. Thats why Im marked as an only cat.

Even though I dont like other cats, I love humans. I love to jump in their laps, purr and roll over for tummy rubs. I just cant get enough of my humans. I would do great in a home where you could spend all your time petting me and holding me. I will reward you with lots of love and purrs.

If you think you would be happy with only me as your companion, let me know. Click on the link right above my picture where it says, Ask about me. You wont be sorry.

Purrs,
Bryce

Meko (previously named Bryce) is doing absolutely great in his new home with us. He made himself at home from day one with sitting in everyone's lap and sleeping in bed with us that first night. He is eating well, using the litter box and his scratching post. He is just a beautiful cat. He is lovable and definitely a lap cat. We are thrilled with him.

Minx is doing excellent its as if she already belonged to us, both my son and i am in love with our new kitty, and whats makes it so wonderful is she feels the same,, or at least acts like she does.

Well I would like to say that I am sooooo happy with my Minx,, its been a year and she really loves us, and we love her. Its really wonderful, she plays with her toys and still loves the running water, so we leave a faucet on for her. Its really strange becasue at first she seemed only attached to myself, but un beknowing to me she has fallen in love with my son. When he come home she immediately leaves my room and goes to him,, just to be pet and then left alone. I love my MInx,, and will add photos as soon as i get some more,, we are in the process of moving and Minx is all around the house,, into everything. I am so happy that we adopted her and i urge others to do the same I feel all the love and affection from Minx and she gets much love in return. To all the people at Siamese Rescue thank you

KATIE
I am sad. Taken to the shelter because my owner didn't think she could love a baby and her cats. I don't need much, just a scritch and some talking to. I don't know what Kimmie and I did wrong do you. We are both nice cats and while we are not bonded we get along if you do want a pair but we will do OK seperate. I am waiting for you if you know what forever means. Update: I am a purring machine and love people. UPDATE Where are you? Why haven't you come to adopt me? I am a gentle soul that would love a place next to you so you can talk with me and give me scritches. I am a wonderful cat so take another look at me.

BUFORD
DUMPED

My former owner decided he didn't want to deal with me any more so he dumped me at the shelter. My foster mom says I was the most depressed cat she's ever seen. She was afraid I'd be listed as "died of broken heart".

So she grabbed me out of that bed she made for me and put me on her lap and gave me a good rub down and suddenly I remembered! Sometimes humans will pet you. So I did a little head butt and she rubbed my head all over! And it felt so good I turned over and she started giving me a belly rub! Wow. Could this mean that somebody could still love me?

She told me that I was a beautiful cat! That I had the most beautiful eyes she's ever seen!

The only problem was that she brought out this camera and I just couldn't keep still -- I was too busy head butting and rolling around trying to get a good belly rub that she could hardly get a picture of my face. So she said she'd try again but that we probably got enough pictures that you can tell what I look like.

Love

Bobby

Update 4/22 - I just met the resident cats here for the first time and I think I'm going to like everybody. Stay tuned...

Update 4/30 - yeah, it's just like I've lived here forever. I get on fine with the 4 kitties and little dawgy here.

GUESS WHAT? My 'stay in Florida' requirement has been lifted and if you live in GA, SC, or NC you can also "ask about me"!

Bobby is now known as Big Buford - a name which fits him well. He love living in Northern Florida and has happy hiding places. He loves fresh catnip and enjoys watching ducks grow up oround the lake. He enjoys his meezer friend Katie. He also loves those bananas too!!!

Buford is now about 15 years old and is still a big loveable cat. His weight is down to about 18 from 22 and it has made a big difference in his activity.

SHIRLEY
Hi, its Shirley with more news,

Our isolation time ended and foster meowmy opened the door to our room to see what we would do. Well, both Laverne and I just walked right out into the hall to explore. We looked over the upstairs then went downstairs to see what was there.

We found other kitties who were called residents, whatever that means. Most of them just looked at us and walked on by but a few would hiss at us. Well, I hissed right back at them and they left me alone. I really enjoy the sunroom and sitting in laps but after a while I went back to my room to rest.

At night, we are put back in our room so we can eat and sleep without being disturbed but each day, the door opens and out we go. Im hoping this extra exercise of going up and down the stairs and having the house to roam around in will help me lose some weight. Im a very lovely lady and want my girlish figure back.

Please ask about Laverne and myself. We are a very nice pair of kitties just looking for a home. It would be great if it is soon as the holidays are coming and, as you know, theres no place like home for the holidays.

Purrs,

Shirley

Notes from Home
Meowy Christmas, everyone, from our new home in New Jersey! Laverne and I made our trip to our furever home Monday and we are settling in nicely. We have a room to ourselves, even after we come out of isolation in a few days. The whole family is here for Christmas so we've had someone to snuggle with the past couple of days...they've discovered Laverne's talent as a masseuse (including on their faces) and my preference for sleeping under the covers. They think it's cute that the two of us are so close...I'm just glad Meowmy adopted both of us.
Thinking Pawsitive,
Shirley
Laverne and i are doing great. We passed our medical exam in flying colors. We are enjoying the new family and have made ourselves at home. Have a chance to sleep with the grand sisters every week end. what ever that means. Photos soon.
