MADCHEN
Cute little tortie girl who hides behind a bit of an attitude, but it is all an act!
Loves her teddy bear, likes being near other cats, but no bully cats please.
Likes to cuddle on the bed next to someone, and has a very croaky little meow.
Anyone have a cat that needs a friend? A cat that might even let her snuggle up ?
If so, ask about Willow!

Notes from Home
It's now been almost a year since we adopted Willow, who was renamed Madchen on her way home in the car. But her around-the-house nickname is "Party Girl" -- she's the most playful cat we've ever known, and quite the chatty charming independent purrball after settling in and learning it was okay to trust us. Thanks to everyone at Siamese Rescue for connecting Meezers in need with those of us who have homes that need Meezers. ; )

It's been 3 years today!! Madchen's all grown up now and just recently has become something of a lap cat. She's possibly the most well-behaved cat we've ever had grace our household -- she doesn't claw on the furniture or jump on countertops, while her fellow feline rescue cohort, Ferris, certainly has no qualms about doing either! She is absolutely a delight, and much loved by everyone. A beautiful amazing tortie girl. ; )

BASIA
Sweet little girl, just thrown out a car window. Can you believe that? I am a little girl so it will be a month or more before I am ready for my new home. Foster mom says no longer than a day's transport for me so no farther than SC. More to come about me as I get settled in.

Foster mom says I must have another kitten or gentle young cat to play with. I need feline companionship even if someone is home with me. Thank you, Eberta

Notes from Home
I am sitting here right now with Basia chasing the curser on the screen. There is not one bad thing to report with this beautiful baby girl. We have taken so many photos of her, a few that I will forward to you. Basia has taken to Cindy more than me but is starting to relax a little more around me. She and George (our male) sleep on Cindy's side of the bed and Basia follows Cindy all around the house. She has some infatuation with the ice maker. Every time someone gets ice out of the refrigerator door, here she comes and sits and stares until you give her a cube to play with for a few minutes. She and George play quite hard during the day and have been known to go at it in the middle of the night. Play hard and sleep for several hours.
We could not have asked for a more perfect baby. She is getting really long and developing a brown line down the middle of her back. As I said, she was chasing the curser but now has fallen asleep in front of the screen as I type.

December 14, 2010

Thank you for checking on Basia. She continues to amuse us everyday with something new. Our downstairs looks like a child's play room with all her toys and scratch posts. She is due to see Dr. Zenor next week for her yearly appt. Dr. Zenor comes here to the house for both our guys so there is no stress put on them.

Basia is still a little shy and will only lay on Cindy and let her pick her up. She pays a visit every morning to Glenn in bed with a little meow and nudge and wants a few minutes of affection which includes having her belly rubbed. She is social and not afraid to be around people but just doesn't like being picked up. It doesn't look like she will get much bigger but her coloring is starting to change. I included a couple of photos of her. Most of our photos are on our phone and are hard to download. I will post an update after her vet visit.

February 5, 2012

We have so many pictures of Basia now it's hard to pick the good ones out. She is just the best little girl. Still not the social butterfly but has a knack to flirt with Glenn in the morning in bed and when he is in the office. She's getting better at letting you pick her up but for the most part it's not happening unless she wants it. She just had her yearly and is a whopping 8.5 pounds and healthy. She holds her own with our male George who is 14 pounds. She's really starting to change color. I tried to put some older pics of her on so you can see the transition.

Will Try to up load more photos soon.

ZARA
ISO FLQMS household for FunLoving, Quirky, Mildly Silly young cat. I've got a lot of Meezer in my personality, so be prepared for intelligence, sharp wit, a sense of humor and an opinion I don't mind sharing. Dry food only, please, and whatever's not yet opened is what I'd prefer, that way I get the challenge of seeking it and opening it. Quiet climber hoping for lots of furry mice, self entertaining in more ways than one!

Notes from Home
Hello fellow Siamese lovers! I'm so sorry it's taken this long to provide you with an update on Zara. As you can probably see from these new photos, she's about as happy a fat cat as she can be! Zara is SUCH a Meezer when it comes to affection - both giving and receiving. I can't sit on the couch for more than 15 seconds before she's up making biscuits on my chest. It took a while to integrate her with my other 2 male cats, but everyone eventually got along great. I bought a house a little over a year after Zara adopted me, and I bought the house specifically because it has a screened porch that the kids can access through a pet door. I can only imagine what goes through Zara's busy little cat brain when a squirrel triest to take a short cut across the top of the porch screening at full tilt! I love the fact that she and the others can still get to feel the thrill of the hunt, but be perfectly safe in the process.

Zara caught her 2nd mouse the other day! She's a Meezer mouser for sure! The first one she got was last winter. It was so cold, it answered the question, "How cold does it have to be outside for a mouse to go into a house with 2 cats in it?" The poor thing didn't stand a chance! Zara is a joy to have in my life, and I can't thank you all enough for giving her the chance to find me - her forever "mommy"!

Seamus MacGregor is a real charmer! He took a little longer to settle in because he's basically shy, but after he got settled he realized he was home and set about making everyone fall in love with him. It sure didn't take too long! Heida said we had a textbook integration. It's not hard to tell that his mom was Balinese with the thick, soft fur and long tail he has! We can't imagine life without him and his love of play! He throws his toys around-I've even found them in the litter boxes!

GEORGIA
Hi, my name is Georgia, and I'm a beautiful, healthy, happy blue point girl!
Here are my New Years resolutions. I am sure 2012 will be my best year ever!

1. I'd like my new family to click on the paw print over my picture and talk to Jen about their home and family. Jen knows me pretty well, so she'll be able to tell you very quickly if you will suit MY needs. (Not that I'm picky, but a girl gets to choose who she's gonna live with:-))

2. I'd like to take a trip, preferably with Meezer Express volunteers, ending up in a great new home!

3. When I meet my new family, I'd like them to show me who's bed I'm going to be sleeping in, from here on out.

4. If you have a dog, and he/she can behave, I wouldn't mind meeting him/her next.

5. I'd like to live happily ever after!

So, those are my goals for this year. I promise you I'm a good girl who won't cause any problems in your home, won't you help me have a bright and promising 2012?

Thanks, Georgia

Notes from Home
Hello form Pennsylvania.
Well, we are happy to report that Georgia "Blue" (we added Blue) is doing GREAT! She is just ending her 14 day quarantine period in our den, and has been out and about for about 24 hours. We limit her time on the main floor of the house due to the fact they our 2 year old cat Zoey and our puppy Max are getting used to her. The puppy LOVES her and she does not run away from his sniffing at all. I prepared my existing pets for her inclusion by bringing her scent to them...their scents is already throughout the den where she sleeps. She walks around the main floor of the house likes she owns the place. She went to the vet for her exam a week ago. She was given a RX for Conjunctivitis and one for yeast in her ear. She has three more days to go with the meds but she has no outward symptoms of Upper Respiratory infection at all. Not runny eyes or nose. Our vet feels that these are minor issues and are probably viruses. But, he gave meds to be onthe safe side. She ihas gained 1/2 pound. Zoey is still standoffish which I expect. but Georgia wants to get closer to her. In time - this should work itself out. I keep in her room at night in the den. She has all of her comforts there, and she seems to know that is her ":safe": place to retreat to if the house is too much for her. Pictures are on the way.

JACK
Okay, I'm over it. Yes, I lost my first home but I've decided it's time to enjoy life again so I'm telling foster mom all about myself. She's a little slow on the translation but she's catching on. I like my toys, especially the little mouse that goes around in circles, but I really LOVE to be brushed. Brush me and you'll win my heart. I'm not one of those outgoing guys who will greet your guests at the front door, I'll be hiding behind the biggest piece of furniture waiting for them to leave so I can cuddle with you. If you don't mind giving me a little time to settle in, I could be your soul mate. Limited to one day drive from Central FL.

Love, Tien

Notes from Home
We are proud to report that we celebrated Jack's 2nd anniversary this past weekend! We had remarked that after his 1st year, he had made a lot of progress but this past year has brought even more fun and new things for him.

At first, he was a very "scaredy cat" and would run and hide under the bed all the time. Gradually, he started coming out more and was comfortable with regular household sounds. He would occasionally be spotted sleeping at the foot of the bed but he tended to prefer his window perch.

After about 9 months, he started to venture to the screened in back porch. He really enjoys watching the lizards and squirrels. It was around then we first heard his chatter/chirping sound! He also found a toy mouse that he started to play with.

During year 2, Jack has really come into his own and has developed quite a personality! He is very chatty in the morning while he is waiting for his wet food -"Seafood Feast" is his favorite. He is not shy about voicing his opinion on a variety of things around the house especially on having the slider door open for him to come and go to the porch as he pleases. He snuggles quite often and has a favorite blanket.

He seems to really enjoy watching yard work being done and will follow you around the house if you are cleaning; however, the vacuum will send him running for the hills. There are now at least half a dozen toy mice around the house that he has managed to wrangle into and out of strange places. He also greets us at the door when we come home!

He did very well at his vet appointment. He was nervous at first but ended up snuggled up with the vet tech by the end. He got a clean bill of health and the vet said he looked great.

All in all, Jack has been a wonderful addition to our lives. He has certainly come a long way out of his shell and continues to prosper. We are very happy to have Jack around and look forward to many great years with him.

SUNNY
Very sweet, but shy little boy, who loves being cuddled but is scared of sudden movements and noises. Wants to go to a home with another cat that will let him cuddle and give him confidence.
Update : I like tummy rubs! Now that I am feeling better and feel safe, I am just a little sponge, soaking up the cuddles!
I adore my foster sister Mushu VA 8040 and would like to go home with her!

Notes from Home
Hi to all my fellow Team Meezers, Sunny is doing GREAT. Still very very skittish with unexpected noises and movements but not shy from human touch. He ADORES Siba and they are best buddies already. He is the big brother to Sunny and Sunny loves him so much. Follows him everywhere and they tumble and play. Amazing, but my Sydney who was terrified of Siba (just getting over that now and I've had Siba almost two years!) has no fear at all of Sunny. There has not been one hiss nor growl from either of Sunny's siblings and I am THRILLED because we weren't sure how either of my current meezers would react. Up date more later. Sunny's mom Sandi

1-30-12 Sunny just blossomed so very much in 3 1/2 months, it's unbelieveable. He is just a gentle giant (little chubby or chubbette as we call him) and is so loving and cuddly and friendly too!! Hard to believe he is the kitten we brought here who was terrified of m everything except if you were holding him. He is now a take charge cat and LOVES my other three meezers and just plays with all of them. We adore him and are so blessed we were chosen as his mom and dad. Sandi and Ron

KLEO
WARNING! Don't drink too much on New Year's Eve or you might find your world turned upside down! Seriously, be careful out there! And when the party is over and you're ready for some serious Siamese companionship, give me a shout. I'm quite the character - very Siamese, very smart, very opinionated, very fun. And of course, very attractive, even if I am upside down.

Kleo is doing very well. She is going to the vet tomorrow for her first check up. She does tend to throw up the hard food that came with her, so I have been feeding her the Weruva Chicken which she likes ( I will mention this to the vet. She has also started shewing on the tip of her tail which is odd. I will also bring this up. She is very vocal and I think she experiences a little separation anxiety while I am at work. All in all, she is doing well. She started playing with a little toy mouse I bought her and I am hoping I can get her to fetch it for me in the near future.

Notes from Home
Precious and Little Egypt both went to the vet for annual checkups last week. L.E. has gained 2 and 1/2 pounds, weighing in at 12.5 . Precious has gained 1 pound, but is less sedentary than L.E.., something we will have to address by removing dry food instead of leaving the automatic feeder out. Both are healthy, otherwise, got their shots, had no worms etc. Precious tolerates L.E. L.E. is friendlier towards P. Of the two, Precious is more outgoing, however, when it comes to people though L.E. has made substantial progress, now being willing to sit in laps of people she trusts. That took a while, however, and we let her go at her own pace.

MAUI
Gentle souled wallflower type guy who is ready for spring - as soon as I get to my new home, I'm guaranteed to blossom into a loving, easy going, very affectionate flame guy. I was a stray for awhile and met some not-so-kind people, so I don't rush up to you and throw myself at your feet, but as soon as I know you're a kind person, we're good. The Center here is just a little overwhelming for me so I stay on the sidelines, but I don't mind the other kitties, I just don't want anyone too forward or rambunctious. I'm a big guy, love my brushing and petting, and do have to watch my figure just a bit!

Notes from Home
Maui is doing great! He has really come out of his shell. Besides eating, his favorite past times are chasing after his toy mice, chasing his brother Romeo or getting attention from his best friend and future dad, Charlie. Periodically around 4 am, he crawls into bed with mom for a bit of chin scratching - sometimes he will even cuddle up to take a nap. Even though he is a bit mischevious, he is kind enough to allow his 17.5 year-old sister Hoku, to sleep in his bed and rule the roost. When not in attack-a-cat mode, Maui can often be found lounging on a curved scratch post in the sun.
