MARY GOLD
A young, healthy outgoing gal, I just got here and am already all about exploring, interacting and getting to know you and yours! I know I won't last long, and I bask in the thought of a new home really soon - should be ready to go home in two weeks! So hurry and get your inquiry in because I'm not staying here long!

Notes from Home
Mary Gold has been here two weeks and is doing very well. She's been integrated with Carter and they can be found playing chase, wrestling, grooming (both themselves and each other) and occasionally rough housing (but will only 2 hisses to date). She's a sweetheart and we couldn't be happier with her. I'll post pics soon, though she's been a tough one to photograph - she rarely sits still for the camera... Cats!

CARTER
I know this isn't my forever home, but I've made myself at home any how! I enjoyed my bath and brushing, said hello to all the other cats here, and like to play with them. I'm not fussy about my food and finish it up each time, and then neatly use my litter box. I don't mind the dog that lives here and like to ride in the car. I had my vet checkup and the vet said I'm a handsome young fella, between 1 and 2 years old. Now all I need is a forever home!

Ask about me and maybe I can be your special boy.

Purrs,

Carter

Notes from Home
Carter has been with us about 2 months now and is doing great, especially now that he has a new friend in his life, the sweet kitten Mary. We knew when we picked Carter up from Jeanne's that he was a social boy and about a month after coming home with us he started to seem a bit bored and lonely - gazing longingly at the neighborhood cats outside of the house. However we were already on it, energetically searching the site and local listings for a playmate. It took some time but finally found miss Mary Gold, a sweet flame point about 8 months old.

We brought Mary home and put her in a room with a glass door. Carter immediately posted himself outside the door trilling and chirping, so eager to meet this new cat. Eventually he was allowed in. He walked right up to her and began grooming her, to which she responded with a sideswipe then a turned tail. Eventually grooming turned to fighting / rough play. We wondered how it would turn out. Would she succumb to Carter's charms?

Skipping ahead a few weeks Carter and Mary are now friends. Today she spent 10 minutes cleaning out his inner ears by the fire and later used up excess energy playing chase and wrestling with her new bud.

We'll post a pic of the two of them soon.

-Elizabeth

Wow, has it already been a month?! Carter's settled into his new routine of listening and watching the birds and neighborhood cats outside the window after his breakfast. He also helps us from oversleeping by jumping onto the bed and licking and nibbling on our faces and ears. He knows when it's time for his breakfast!

We also found a new type of game that involves hopping in bed and using the feather wand like a whack-a-mole at the edge of the sheets. Sometimes he'll even dive into the sheets with us and hang out while we read.

We're still looking for the perfect companion for him. We're still monitoring the rescue site and have visited three different SPCAs in the area, but so far we haven't found The One (or rather The Other One).

-----------
Carter has been with us almost 2 weeks and is doing very well. True to his initial profile, he is a laid back yet playful cat who can easily be convinced to flop over on his back for a belly rub. I doubt there could be a more well-adjusted and sweet kitty.

So far Carter has explored every nook and cranny of our house and has already integrated himself in our routines. As you can see from the photos he likes to help wrap presents, particularly those involving ribbon or string, and has a preference for tissue paper, which he likes to nap on.

We'll continue to send updates and post pictures of the little guy. Thanks everyone who took care of him and helped match us with our new housemate!

- Elizabeth

VIRGIL
Hi there!

I just got here and Meowmy said I look like I haven't eaten in a while cause I'm so thin. But I know she's gonna help me gain some weight so I'm handsome again. I feel so much better after my bath cause Meowmy killed all the fleas that thought they could live on me. She said never again.
So for now I gonna rest, eat, play and grow, so that someone special will see just how special I am!

1/31/11 Update: Well, I guess I really am special. I've had a rough time with loose stools since I got here and the vet wasn't sure if I had IBD or FIP. He said it's a good sign that I'm growing and gaining weight, and that my stools aren't runny, just soft. He said I'm probably one of the lucky ones that will outgrow this, but there is no guarantee. He told meowmy that at this time he isn't too concerned any more, since I've had all the treatments for parasites. So if you ask about me, please remember that I'm special and would need someone who would adopt me to love and care for me and give me regular vet checks to be sure I'm still doing ok.

I have excellent litter box habits and love to play, but love to cuddle, too. I don't like the dog here and wack her every chance I get, so if you have a dog, I wouldn't be fair to it if I came to live there.

Purrs,

Notes from Home
Virgil has now been with us for two weeks and he is quite a joy to have. He really likes to play, especially with his"baby" that his foster mom sent with him. He is really into every thing. Virgil follows both of us around like a little lamb. When he is done, he is really done...curls up and goes to sleep in an instant. Virgil is having his first visit with his new doctor this week to get to know everyone there. We think he is as happy to be here as we are to have him as the new member of our family.

2/15/12 Virgil has been here a year and has completely taken over our home and our hearts. Virgil is into everything, loves ping pong balls, his cube and crinkle tunnel and ALL his toys...he pretty much beats them up pretty good! His doctor says he is quite healthy and has probably grown about as far as he will; he weighs 9 1/2 pounds. We lost our Ambrose about a month after Virgil came to live with us and he certainly got us through our grief-he cannot help himself but to be in your face. He and his big sister Fantiene get along pretty well, occasional tiffs but mostly they are very loving with each other. Virgil knows Sasha is here but Sasha is not interested in being social. So we have a pretty happy home, blessed with three wonderful Siamese.

SASHA
I'm still looking high and low for the center of my universe, but Ms. or Mr. Right hasn't been as easy to find as I had first thought. No matter; we all know the best life offers comes to those who wait patiently, and I'm one very patient little lady.

Notes from Home
Sasha has been with our family for over 2 years now and she is just a sweet little thing. She is never going to be social with the other kitties, but she has found a nice little routine and she is happy. Loves to have her belly rubbed at bedtime and watches out the window for any wildlife, feathered or four-footed. She is healthy, never been sick with even a cold and doesn't mind me cleaning her folded ear every couple of days (providing there is a treat at the end, of course). She is quite photogenic as you can see. We love her to pieces.

TEDDY
I am a big boy but very calm and easy-going. I have done very well with other cats and human children. My former family says that I hate dogs and attack them. I have recovered from the kitty cold that I caught at that shelter. Now I want to explore, play, be petted and be loved by a human. I like action, am afraid of nothing and must have a family that will play with me. I don't sit on laps or talk. Do you have a home that needs a boy like me?

Casper is now named Teddy and I think he got even fuzzier then when he left Siamese Rescue (If thats even possible...) Actually my mom does not "own" him. I do, and I means her daughter which is me. Teddy loves to sit on people and play with mine or my mom's yarn. He loves looking out the screen door or sitting on the highest spot on the cat perch near the window looking at birds, rabbits, etc. I noticed that he loves boxes, especially the box house I made for him which I may or may not be done with. That is Teddy's update!

ABBY
I am settled in and enjoying some time out in the foster room. It took me a little while, but I have decided that it is fun to play with the other kitties. I am starting to play with some toys and am becoming quite rowdy with them. Foster mom says I rearrange everything during the night when she is asleep. Life is good.

Notes from Home
Abby is settling in. She's a very curious girl and doesn't sit still for long. She went for her vet visit yesterday and Dr. M fell in love with her! She said she's doing great and doesn't need to be seen again til June for her shots.

Abby and Geezer have not yet had many meetings yet, as he says upstairs except to come down to use his litter box. When they have encountered one another, they exchange hisses and go their separate ways.

Will post pictures soon...

2/21/2011 - Abby is settled in. She believes she rules around here and let's us know when she wants to eat, go out on sun porch or be petted. She keeps us on our toes! In the mornings she is full of energy and runs through the house checking every room and person. Her and Geez are not winning any awards for best friends, but they do get closer to one another without hissing as much. Pictures are up!

4/18/11 - Abby is doing well. She likes to be on porch or sitting by an open window. She seems to have an abundance of energy. With Geezer's passing today, we are thinking of getting her a younger playmate to help keep her occupied and maybe help blow off some of her energy.

8/5/11 - Can't believe it's been 6 months already! Abby and her new buddy, Frankie, are quite the pair. They begin their mornings at 5:30am by waking someone to be fed and then it's playtime. They think our is a kitty playland. If you are downstairs it's sound like a mini horse race upstairs when they are chasing each other. We are so happy to have her!

2/14/12 - We had our 1 year anniversary with Abby! She's FINALLY becoming more relaxed and will actually sit on Mike's lap for over an hour. She seems to really like having Frankie around most of the time. There are days when she's just not interested in him pestering her and she'll hide from him under the covers.

PRINCE PHILLIP
Hi there! My name is Kioko, which means 'Happy Child' in Japanese. If I could have had a name that meant THANK YOU! I LOVE YOU! I AM GRATEFUL', foster mom says she would have named me one of those instead! You see, I'm only about 9 months old, and I've spent the last 2 of those months in a cage with nowhere to sleep except my litterbox. It was crowded, and everybody was sick, and oh....I was just the saddest little guy you've ever met. But fostermom rescued me yesterday and my entire world has changed. She showed me the difference between 'litterbox' and 'millie bed' gave me my OWN food and treats, and brushed me (which I love!) and I can't believe how lucky I am!!! If it never gets better than this, I'll already be in heaven, but fostermom says that you are out there...right now...waiting for me...and that world is going to get even BETTER! There truly are miracles at Christmas.

Prince Philip is doing wonderful. He is curious, interactive, playful, laid back, and so much more. He does extremely well with all 3 of my young children and seeks attention from everyone in the house. I host a mommy's club dinner at my house once a month and there are toddlers running everywhere. Philip always jumps the baby gate and puts himself in the middle of the chaos. There isn't a person or animal that he does not like or try to become friends with. For my 4 year old daughter who is in remission from Leukemia, he is 9 lbs. of therapy. He gives kisses to my daughter, lays on her, and follows her around like a puppy dog. When he is not interacting with us, he is playing with our dog Coconut. They are in love and constantly groom each other and play. He was a great match for our family! It was not easy to find a kitty that would fit in a home with a 9 y/o female cat, 2 medium-sized dogs (one slightly obnoxious), and 3 children under the age of 5! I am very thankful to Kathy M. and Belinda for helping my family through this journey! :-)

RICKY
Foster Mom says I'm the complete package. I can be a complete wild child and I can be sweet and loving and cuddly when I'm done being wild. Be prepared to kitten proof your home for me. I'm still young and learning my manners but hey, I'm a kitten so what do you expect? If you want a purrrrfect little boy kitten, you better get on my list quick!

Love,

Notes from Home
February 12, 2012 Ricky has integrated into our family very well. We have 2 cat friendly large dogs, and he is very comfortable with both of them. We have had him for six months (he will be 1 in April) and he has grown into a beautiful, healthy, well-mannered boy. Our experience with adopting him was very positive, and a perfect match was made. We have taken him to the Outer Banks on a 5 hour car trip with our two dogs to stay a week in a pet-friendly house, and he traveled like a pro in his carrier. I will post pictures when my daughter is home from college to help me download them.

PHOENIX
I told my foster dad that he should tell everyone that my name Aphex is pronounced as fx (for sound affects). Thats cause I can hold conversations in the Siamese meezer dialect. I'll tell you more about myself when my foster dad lets me use his computer. But right now he is monopolizing my time.

Yipeee! My foster dad says I'm adoptable. He says within a week I should be ready to go. He also says that he is going to find me the perfect home where I will have the freedom of a whole house and new owners all of my own.

Notes from Home
Hi, everyone,

Phoenix became my companion, a ten year-old snowshoes Siamese, a year ago next month. What a dear!

I've had to be hospitalized twice, complete w/ rehab., since Phoenix came to stay, and he doesn't like it.

Also, because I have a loving family, my daughter and granddaughter have been spending weekends in CT (they live in New Hampshire) w/ me since Thanksgiving. Actually, he likes that but doesn't know it, and to express his opinion about having his routine interrupted, he's been leaving tangible gifts just outside his litter box of late. Oh, dear.

Here comes Peter Kuck, my mentor, on his white charger, riding up w/ a remedy, we hope works. (Peter responded within about 12 hours of my request for help...hope your mentor works that way, too.)

He brought something called "Comfort Zone" w/ Feliway, a pheromon influence. It's a product that disperses an odorless vapor that makes a pet feel safe. We'll see.

In any case, I've been nothing less than ecstatic w/ the support I've received from Siames Cat Rescue.

Cheers, Alycia

Hi, all you Siamese lovers out there.

Phoenix has been with me now for nearly two years. He's lost some excess weight and has such a glossy coat that he truly deserves to be called "my handsome boy." He's very self-expressive, physically and vocally, and makes his desires known very clearly. No more "tangible gifts." I finally discovered that newspapers scattered on the floor near his box make the best reminders to him.

Phoenix'es biggest asset is his loving, companionable disposition. Friends are so happy for me that I've adopted such a special animal. Thank you, Siamese Rescue.

Bee is still doing great! She is such a funny cat with loads of personality. She just had her annual exam and was pronounced "perfect". She and my other two cats really get along well...especially with Bo, the male kitty that I adopted the summer before I got Bee. She is just what he needed!

Bee is doing great and she and Bo have become best friends! The vet was able to clear things up after the first round of meds and she is back to her bouncy, "busy" little self.
She loves to play fetch with a fizzy toy that she has and she is even beginning to will Ella over (as much as Ella wants to be won over!). Great kitten and I am looking forward to many years of fun with her.
