CINNAMON GIRL
Sing it with me! "I want to live with the cinnamon girl....I could be happy, the rest of my life with the cinnamon girl."
I can be your own special cinnamon girl, and I'll make you soooo happy. I'm a super sweet and loving lilac point/lynx point with cinnamon pads and a cinnamon nose. Mom only had me for 10 minutes before she put me on 'adopt me'... she says I'm that special and that good :-)

Notes from Home
Cinnamon is doing great. She is getting along fine with the dogs, and stands her ground with them when they are in the same space. She sleeps at the foot of my bed wrapped around my husAugustbands big size 13 feet. She doesn't like to be held unless its on her terms, but she is getting used us and seems quite comfortable. She has the sweetest little meow, and is very quite. She still likes fancy feast and I'm trying to mix in the more nutrious wet food but.... We are working on it

She is still a sweetheart.

HARLEY
CUDDLE BUG ALERT!
Yes, here is one of the legendary Kokomo flame points - super friendly, laid back, loves laps and bedtime snuggling. Over the years, SCRC volunteers have been amazed by the exceptionally GREAT flame points that have come out of this shelter.
Adopted as a kitten, Harley was well cared for and loved. However, his purrson became very ill and Harley was tearfully surrendered. SCRC was notified and Harley was brought into foster care. At first, he was disoriented and very sad. But, his underlying sweet purrsonality did not take long to break through. While Harley may still think about his old home, he has adapted well to his new situation and is ready to make new friends - both human and feline :)
Harley is an intense, needy boy who will help you with your chores and provide helpful commentary. He loves to get your attention and then gaze deeply into your eyes. He is a polite cat - with excellent litter box habits and a healthy appetite. His blood work was normal.
He is an exceptionally nice, people-oriented cat. He would be an excellent companion for anyone home most of the time. He would be fine with non-dominant cats or mellow dogs. His ideal home would have a steady routine and adults only.
Harley does NOT travel well - becoming very anxious in a car. Transport will be limited to 400 miles unless arrangements can be made to minimize upset.

Notes from Home
Harley is truly enjoying his life as a spoiled rotten cat. He loves to sit on the back of the sofa and watch the squirrels and birds from his window seat. He is eating like a king! All is as it should be in his world, except that his fur brother, Pumpkin has a severe nose joint problem. He likes to sneak up behind Harley and then bite his tail. Hopefully, time will help put Pumpkin's nose back in joint.
He is a wonderful, sweet Meezer! I am glad he decided that I am an acceptable Purrson in his world. He deserves no less!

Foster Notes for Coriander [VA12068] |
Coriander is a lovely, 10 mo old Seal Point girl, who was rescued when she was 2 mo old, and on her way to becoming feral. So, she is extremely shy and not very comfortable with people, although she is coming around, very slowly. She has shown absolutely no aggression, however. She likes being petted, both ear and face scritches and whole body massage, as long as she is in her comfort place. At my house that means in a high-walled bed on top of a file cabinet. She will probably appreciate a tall cat tree.
Her first response to anything new and frightening (and almost anything new is frightening to her) is to run, hide and hunker down. She will probably always have this tendency, but with time and a lot of patience, she should start to feel comfortable and secure with her people, and get used to the typical activities and noises in a home. She will definitely be worth the up front work of gaining her trust, since she has a very sweet personality. She will eat treats from my hand and lick my fingers to say thanks. She loves playing with the cat dancer, and I've almost gotten her out of her bed to chase it. She still runs and hides in her bed when I enter her room, but now she just looks at me, instead of hunkering down with her face hidden like when she first came. She will probably revert to that mode, when she's moved to her forever home, but should come out of it more quickly as she gets used to her new surroundings.
She should be kept in a small room of her own, until you can reliably approach her to pick her up. If you let her out into you house before then she may be very hard to catch and get scared when you try to. If this happened, she could easily become a 'ghost cat' - one who eats and uses the litter box, but whom you rarely see.
She has interacted with other cats in the past, but doesn't like it if they become too rambunctious or bossy. An older, quiet cat companion, who isn't domineering should work out fine, once they get over the initial introductions.
She is currently eating Proplan or Tiki wet food, 1 small can or half a larger can per day, and free feed Royal Canin dry kitten food, although she will graduate from that to adult food by Sept when she's a year old. She wears a Sentry calming collar, which has helped one of my own cats, and takes a Pet Naturals of VT calming treat every day.
Her litterbox habits are excellent; she's not a deep or wild digger and will occasionally leave her poop uncovered. She uses a standard clumping litter.
So, in summary, she's a very nice cat, who will need a lot of time and patience at the beginning; probably for several months. But, once she gets comfortable around people, I think she will be very loving and attuned to her folks. |

DAPHNE
I'm a very sweet, but extremely shy little girl. Foster mom is working hard to entice me into engaging with the world and with people, but it will be a while before I'm ready to venture out into a new home. Hopefully, that home will be a calm and quiet one. I would probably do well with a gentle, perhaps older cat companion who won't play too rough or try to boss me around.
The key to my heart will be patience and a respect for my boundaries - I just need to do things in my own time.

Notes from Home
feb 12 2018 - daphne (fka Coriander) is comfortable now. she crawls into my lap and sleeps leaning against me. she is still playful. she no longer is afraid of Bert (fka Leo) - she chases him and tries to get him to play. she actually came up behind him and started licking the back of his head. he is not interested in snuggling with her though and will chase her off the bed
Aug 4, 2018. Well Daphne has turned into quite the tomboy. She is still super playful – and super fast - darting into and out of the room and hurling herself on the bed to attack Bert or see me – then leaping off and scampering away. She comes to be petted although I cannot walk to her- I can approach her when she is lounging (and she loves to lounge) and pet her. She will lean against me while I am watching TV and sleeps on my bed leaning against me. She is still super driven by food and will eat through any packaging – last week a friend’s bag of gold fish (ugh). Best news of all is that she has made friends with Bert – it took a little over 7 months of pure torture for all of us. Felliway multicat plug ins made all the difference, and I still use them, though fewer. She will jump at Bert, chase him up the stairs and hold him down to lick his face. All in all, quite the girl..

KILLI
7/23/12 I have been entertaining a 9-year-old boy on weekends and I just love to play with him! Meowmy is impressed by my large vocabulary; although I chirp more than meow, I also have a lot of other noises (growls, and huffs and puffs) that I make when playing with the boy. I don't particularly care for the resident cats here, though I tolerate the gentleman, I'll never be a cat's cat and much prefer the company of humans. I give kisses to just about everybody I meet and love to be picked up and held.
Check out my new video!
7/5/12 I've met the resident cats and Mom has observed that I am willing to ignore a laid-back gentleman geezer, so she's changed my placement limitations. I don't think I can ignore the resident seal Diva, but time will tell.
7/2/12 Meowmy says I have the palest blue eyes she has ever seen--almost robin's egg blue--they perfectly complement my lovely cream and pale orange coat. I have a lovely, high and soft chirpy voice--not at all your typical Siamese voice but definitely typical Siamese conversationalist!
7/1/12 Hi! I've just arrived at my new foster meowmy's house. I "meeped" at her all the way home, but seemed to enjoy the ride and used my letterbox in transit, so distance will not be an issue in adopting me.
I've had a light meal and am settling in nicely. Meowm confirms that I am Affectionate-with-a-capital-A: I have head butted and nose kissed everybody I've met since I arrived. I'm a very social, confident girl who likes to play. More after I've had a chance to reveal my many charms here.

Notes from Home
Lucille has chosen a new name for herself, Killi. It was a slip of the tongue by me when I was calling her instead of saying kittie it came out as Killi and she looked at me and came running over, lol. At any rate she is doing wonderful! She has laid claim to her spot on the bed, either inbetween my legs or right up on my tummy, and she has demanded that isolation ended as of Saturday. She explored the entire house and then found her sunny spot in front of my dining room sliding glass door. She has been simply wonderful! As of today, 8/13/12, the vet gave her a clean bill of health and her ear mites have finally cleared up. She is still a little itchy so he cleaned them out real good and gave us a small bottle of Tresaderm to help out just I case there are any remaining eggs. She wasn't too pleased about her trip to the vet so as a consolation I bought her a new, bigger kittie food dish, her favorite dry food, Siamese 38, and some wellness wet food. She purred the ENTIRE time she ate and then rubbed up on me and gave me kisses. I am so thankful for her, she is my best friend!
12/18/12
Well this past Saturday was Killi's bday and we celebrated by doing all the things she loves, first we cuddled in the morning for as long as she wanted (an hour), she got a good brushing in which she purred so much I thought the house would surely come down, she got a few extra treats and her favorite wet food, turkey and giblets. Afterwards she hung out with me curled up on my lap while I watched some TV. She has been so great and is even allowing me to rub her tummy for longer intervals of time before she tells me she has had enough. Everyday I learn more and more about her and she lets me know that I am hers with rubs, licks, purrs, and head butts. She has even started greeting me at the door when I come in and she is so happy that she does the feather dance with her tail. Merry Christmas to all from Killi and me xox
Sadly, Killi has passed away. She had been fighting some unknown neurological issue for 2 years, developed insulin dependent diabetes and high blood pressure. She was much older than we all thought according to my vet because her previous owner took great care of her teeth. My vet estimated her age to be closer to 17 vs 10 years. She lived out her golden years with me and completely enjoyed every minute! She will be extremely missed!

ODIN
Foster Meowm says I am the best loverboy and I will curl up on you as soon as you sit down. Sometimes I love on the dog, too, and the dog licks me, which I don't mind, but Foster Meowm seems to think that makes me slimy. My foster brothers are fun, too.
We had a long conversation, and I told her I am one laid back kitty! Laid back does not mean lazy. I have a lot of energy and I love to race around the house after anything that moves, including my foster brothers. We run around the house side by side, up and down the stairs. Foster meowm says she may as well have bought a race track - all I know is I need to run around and keep my slim figure so someone will fall in love with me.
I did tell her I had to get rid of that picture of me in the bad place I came from, so she made me watch her fingers to get this picture. I kind of like it, do you? I am a handsome loverboy, all ready to fall in love with my furever person. You should send an email if you have room for a laid back handsome boy in your house.

Notes from Home
Odin has been with us for seven years, and has been a great joy in our lives. He is still very active and very social. He rides in the car with me to the bottom of my driveway and nods his head up and down while he watches for the school bus to bring my daughter home. He sleeps in our beds and investigates anything new that comes into the house. He loves to chase a red laser dot and rattle around in paper bags. He is a very necessary part of our family, and I thank all of the volunteers who helped in getting him to us here in West Virginia.
8/1/18. Odin is still doing well with us. :) He is our only kitty now, and we are discussing maybe finding him a female friend.

BISCUIT
Boy, do I have news for you. You know I'm currently residing at Hotel delShue, don't you? Well, some kittens left the "luxury" room in the hotel and it was opened up today for ME. WOW, what a wonderful place - LOTS of windows, other kitties to watch, doors to look out of and lots and lots of sunshine.
As soon as I got into my new "digs", I had to explore everything and foster mom got some new pictures of me. Be sure to look at the "new and happy" me in the photos and a video, too. What more could a seal point snowshoe girl like me want other than this "luxury" room? I'll tell you, be sure to click on "ask about me" and help me find my forever home. That's what I really want for my life. Purrs and headbutts, Biscuit

Notes from Home
I can't quite believe that we've had Biscuit for 5 years and Bilbo for almost 8! Time has flown, and our expectations for our family have totally changed. Instead of any human children we now have 5 cats. Number 4, Poppy, is a flame point snowshoe who adopted from a local shelter a little over a year ago. Because of her previous negative experience with another female it took a year, but she and Biscuit are now comfortable being around each other and getting more comfortable by the day. It hasn't been easy for Biscuit, but she's now back to getting all the scritches and turkey she could want. (Okay, she probably wants more turkey and ham and cheese....but she is well fed and doing well.)
We have been fortunate that Biscuit has not had any additional resorptive lesions and overall her health is good. (Though she might have gained a bit more weight than the vets might like.)
Cat #%, Sadiiqi, only joined our family in April, and his integration is going slowly. It will take time, but eventually we'll have everyone getting along (or at least tolerating one another).

Notes from Home
Just a note to tell everyone how well Gabriella a/k/a Brie f/k/a Suzie is adjusting to her furever home. She got home and it's like she's been living here since birth. She loves her new home. She has a hearty appetite, loves to be brushed, she loves her new brother, (keeping them apart the first several days was tough..feet under the doors, cries from both) she loves to play and likes sleeping on mom and dad's bed as well as her favorite window spot, dining room chair, dad's legs and mom's lap! She loves to be held and is in constant "purr" mode! I'd say she's adjusted quite well. She will have her first vet appointment next week to meet with her vet.
Brie has her first vet appointment this weekend, wherein she will meet her new vet. She's a great eater (she eats her own food and tries to push Beau out of the way for his -- he's learning not to let her) and we continue to sprinkle l-lysine in her food, as well as Beau's. Keeping a boost on their immune system. I expect that her appointment will go well.
Brie met her vet today for her first visit and everything went well. The vet seems to think she's a little younger than what we thought as she still has her "baby" teeth. He believes Brie to be about 14-15 weeks old. She's a big girl for her age. She eats well and plays rough and tumble with Beau. Her next appointment will be in a year as long as everything goes well. She's a little sweetheart no matter how old she is.
Well, it's the baby's one month anniversary and she is doing amazingly well. Brie is very loving, sweet and curious. She loves to play rough and tumble and loves her window sill. Brie is enjoying her family, including big bro Beau. Brie became a part of the family as soon as she entered our house...it's as if she was born with us! We couldn't ask for a sweeter little girl! Love her!
Gabriella is doing well. She's sweet, feisty and loves to eat. Brie and Beau get along really well and play well together. They play their little "cat" games in the morning and then settle down until about 11:30. She loves to play hide and seek with Beau. Brie loves to be brushed/groomed and loves to sit in the Bay window or the large picture window waiting for the sun. She is a real beauty and such a girl! She is loved, adored and spoiled!
Gabriella is doing well. She's a typical girl! She snitches on Beau when they're playing rough! She loves to "play" and loves her family! She's eating well and knows when "mommy" taps the bowl, it's time to come running. She's beautiful blue eyed baby and is very spoiled!
Gabriella just had her physical and is doing extremely well! She’s beautiful and eats well. She and Beau get along beautifully! She is well spoiled and given lots of love. She’s is our little alarm clock! 💕
