Have you ever lost a loved one? Me too, it hurts doesn't it?
Have you ever felt like you will never feel love or be loved again? Me too.
Have you ever been scared of any new situation? Well, me too!! Looks like you and I already have a few things in common!!!
My owner passed away and I miss having that constant 'love' and 'attention' in my life. I am easy to get along with and I don't mind being picked up and thrown over your shoulders like a sack of taters! I have stellar litter box habits. I purr a lot and love to sit by you, even when you are on the computer. I just want to be next to you. Don't you want to me next to me? The searching stops here! My name is Poppie and I am in a RESCUE program so please, RESCUE me. You are looking for a cat to RESCUE, right? I need that love and attention that I once knew and had and I know you have it to give. I can't wait to ride on your shoulders and see your home.

xoxo with purrs,
Poppie

Notes from Home
1/15/11 Hello- Wanted to update on Poppie. She has I think over 2-3 weeks without a trip to the vet-Yeaaaa!!! She is really filling out-such a pretty baby. I went to see her and Mom on 1/9. She is spending less and less time under the couch-new people and sounds will still send her there for hours but this is to be expected. She loves to sit next to Mom or be in the same room. I had Mom hold her while I trimmed her nails and she was very calm and compliant. She let me hold her and pet her. I will be doing this every 3-4 weeks. She was giving Mom little "love nips" and got carried away and Mom had to get an antibiotic. I told Mom to not allow any any TEETH behavior-zero tolerance and to hiss at Poppie when she attempted this as that is what mamma cat does. Mom practiced her hiss and so far no more nips. Poppie was just testing as to who is boss. Mom said Poppie is very talkative and Mom talks back to her all the time. I call Mom daily for an update and to check on both of them. Mom is slowing down a bit at 83. I am so glad she has Poppie.

MING II
Hey! What about Me too, foster pops says I can be home by Christmas and do I have a story for you.
My story starts with I once was lost, but now am found.
There is a wonderful women saw me in the driveway of an apartment she was looking at. When she rented the apartment and I was still there 2 weeks later even though I was sick she took me in . She introduced me to foster Pops, BJ and Trish. Now I have a room all of my own where Foster Pops is making me feel better and plays with me. I really like being petted and held, it's like having a home again.

Notes from Home
Ming II is doing quite well. She has taken over the house and has both my husband and I waiting on her. We have begun her integration with our two boys and so far are they think she is just passing through. She went to the vets and got a good bill of health with just one more worming needed to clear up a few round worms. She is a funny cat. She chased one of my boys (Tonkinese) under the bed and then they both engaged in some feline swearing (growling) then after a few minutes she must have become bored as she rolled over on her back and put for legs in the air. Seconds later she lowered her legs, closed her eyes and fell sound asleep, snoring like a truck driver! How wonderful to see her personality unfold and in just five weeks. On the flip side, we have a ways to go with her aggressive behavior. It is less aggressive but still she has a short fuse. It is better but it is a daily challenge. She has her very good days and fairly good days.

Thanks for letting us adopt her. Make that, thanks for letting her adopt us!

BINKY
Ooooh you are in for a treat! Very high energy naughty boy Meezer, that's me, ready to rock and roll, probably need someone to rock and roll with, knick knacks beware! I'm athletically inclined, busy bee in my bonnet, and going to need an experienced owner ready for my loving but slightly challenging antics!

Notes from Home
Binky is settling in nicely and is actually less of a "brat" than we expected! Elsa absolutely adores him and is working hard/steadily/puposefully on building their bond. You should see him run to greet her when she gets home from work each day - it's really endearing and brings her great joy. He's getting along pretty well with Schindler - no spats/fights/wrestling matches to date; they love to chase one another, especially in the evenings - sounds like a herd of tiny elephants charging through the hallways and up/down the stairs. Binky still does not know what to make of Ivy - will cautiously approach her from behind and sniff at her tail; still tends to hiss at her if they meet head-on; has not shown any aggressiveness. Ivy essentially ignores him - probably a VERY good dog for a cat with no prior dog experience. He's eating well, knows where to find the litter boxes, has staked out a few favorite spots for lounging/naps and enjoys his toys. Have had him examined by one of the Internal Medicine specialists at my clinic - essentially a clean bill of health with the exception of some concerns about his gingivitis - will likely soon have him examined/evaluated by a dental specialist and see what they think the future may hold. SIRI - check your email for a copy of the physical exam write-up for his records there.

RUMMY
Woohoo!!! I am a mover and a shaker, check out my video and my pictures, yes, some of them are blurry! That's because I'm not standing still, I'm talking, I'm walking, I'm exploring, I'm prancing (yes, I prance, up and down), I'm one busy gal with an agenda! And loving? Well that goes without saying!!!! (I came with roommate Cardamon, we could go together if someone wants a pair that they know gets along and doesn't want to have to integrate, he's the goody two shoes and I'm the naughty princess :) (UPDATE! He's MUCH better, and that makes me MUCH happier and generally easier going! Life Is GOOD!)

Notes from Home
Rummy has been very slow in deciding this is going to be her new life. She is very sweet and will allow you to love on her, but is just getting to the point that she will ask for attention.
She will stop and lay down on the stairs so you have to stroke her before you can finish claiming the stairs. This has been as close to asking for attention she has come till just a few days ago, when she did asked for a lap. She likes her screened in porch and does not seem to mind the cold, although she does not stay on the porch very long.

SOOKIE
Hi there! Just arrived with my brother and sister! I'm the "middle child" of the group! But I'm still very curious and am constantly on the go! Still teeny (just a bit over a pound), I'm the smallest, so its going to be a few weeks before I'm ready to travel, but ask about me now to get a head start!

Purrs and headbutts,
Piper

Notes from Home
Sookie (aka Piper) and Saki (aka Pixie) are both doing well. They are checked in with the local vet in Alexandria. They are two very playful kittens and Saki can fetch his toys! Sookie had developed a small edema from her spaying procedure, but has gone away on its own. Saki had a little URI when he first arrived, but is doing better.

Sookie is doing good and full of love an energy. She is ALWAYS purring! The vet had issues trying to listen to her heart beat because she wouldn't stop purring. She likes to sleep on my neck and be the center of attention.

SAKI
Whew! Finally made it out of that noisy shelter! Settling in here with my brother and sister, we got some growin' to do, but we'll be ready to go home in a few weeks! I'm very curious, quite a climber, and love attention, so ask about me today to get a head start!

Notes from Home
Saki is doing well, and seems to be all over his cold and sneezes. He loves to play with his mice and likes to growl at his kitty toys. He can also play fetch and return the kitty toy in my hand. He understand the word "No." He also likes to have his belly rubbed.

CLEOPATRA
Hi there - I am just hoping to get out and start exploring soon. Foster mom says for a little tyke, I already have that Meezer voice and I like to talk. I've been a little under the weather and my temporary mom is trying to help me feel better. I'm eating well and trying to grow up to be a big girl but I think it will take some time. I am very playful and love to climb up the sides of the playpen. Toys are great fun.

Notes from Home
Hello,
All is well with our Cleo. Our first month has flown by. We are thrilled with what a great match she is with our other kitten and our family. We've had to deal with a few medical issues, the two kittens shared their past medical stuff. Our Perseus gave Cleopatra Giardia and Cleo gave Persie her eye virus. It was to be expected they are best pals. They eat, sleep and play together. They clean each other too. They are both are on medication and continue to mend. The medical issues haven't slowed them down, they are both a riot to watch at play. Cleo is a sweet little girl. She is active and yet very willing to be held and is easy to purr. We feel blessed she is part of our family.

DAISY
I'm on page 1. How can this be when I'm a Princess? I am curious, smart, active, loving and still waiting. Foster Mom has put fancy collars on me, photographed me in every pose, and made me sit still for all of the sessions... It's been almost a year and I would make a really good kitty for just about anyone. Please?

Notes from Home
Daisy is doing great and she and Rollie and Monty are all getting along extremely well! The three of them sit on the recliner with me and Daisy sleeps under the covers right by my chest every night. She is such a sweet and tiny little thing and she is as soft as a bunny! Even though she's about half the size of the boys, I've caught her chasing each of them under the bed a couple of times (all in good fun!) and it's hilarious!

The boys and I are so glad she's a part of our family and things couldn't be going better! Thanks again to all of you for bringing Daisy into our lives!

KING CESAR
Life's already complicated enough, right?
At least one thing ought to be EASY, right?
OK, I'm going to make it easy for you, right now, right here.

I'm playful.
I'm outgoing.
I'm loving. (When I'm through playing!)
I'm just all-around totally cute.
If that's what you're looking for, ask foster mom about me! It'll be EASY, I promise!!

King Ceasar is in da hiz-ouse!! I am lovin' my life and my family. It is amazing how fast I grew in 6 months, I am taller and longer than my older bro-furs and sis-furs! For a while, I thought perhaps I would never grow into my handsome face-look at me now. I run, I jump, I talk, I slide, I pounce, I give kisses and I'm working on my barking. Yep, I taught my kanine bro how to bird watch and now, he's trying to teach me how to bark. I am having so much fun here. My meowmy really enjoys it when I jump into the litter box as she cleaning it. She laughs at me everyday when I do this, so I can't let her down-I have to keep this tradition up. Besides chasing this pesty red dot that shows up every now and then, I absolutely love clawing walking on the bottom of bed mattresses, chairs and sofa's. Meowmy thinks it's cute too 'cause sometimes I go so fast that when I'm done, the hair on my back makes a snapping noise while it stands up in the air. I am the happiest cat ever.

TAIQUAN
Sensitive friendly seal boy looking for a quieter loving home where I can be your one and only. Well socialized, just a little unsure of things that go bump in the night. Would you be mine, or could I be yours? (Participant in the "Try Me, You'll Like Me Program").
Notes from Home
Tai came out of his crate as tho he has always lived here. He took to the cat tower and water fountain (suggested by Aunt Siri) immediately and instantly started purring. He spent the first nite and every nite since sleeping under the covers with me. He wakes me up with a velvet paw to the face ever so gently. He helps me brush my teeth and work on the computer and is very concious of when my lap is available for him to occupy. He is getting used to the dog and hissed at him at first, but the dog is deaf and now they walk by each other with communal sniffing.
Tai spends the day watching the birds and squirrels from the nest by the window while I am at work. His habits are spotless thus far. His favorite thing is to snuggle up and roll over and wait for tummy rubs. I never imagined that a cat could be so affectionate, with his constant head bumps and rubbing.
Tai had his first checkup at the vet, and all is well. He has settled in beautifully and seems as happy with us as we are with him. What a happy cat!
