Notes from Home
Chloe has been at her forever new home for 2 weeks now and we could not be happier. She actually slept with me the first night after arriving from her fostermommy's house. She looked around when she first arrived then went directly under my bed and stayed until about 7pm,she then decided there was to much stuff to find out about. We have been sleeping together ever since. She loves to sleep on my pillow and 'knead' my head. She purrs alot but is not very chatty. She loves her food and does very well with the litter box.We have moved since she came to me and we both are alot happier now that it is quiet,we neither one could rest before so now we can we only hear cows and chickens an dthat is music to our ears.We live out in the country and it is so quiet, and ours.We have a very friendly landlord who also loves kitties but chloe is still somewhat shy but is coming around. She likes the quiet to so much better than we had.We are just as happy as can be.

LILA
Oh pooh! I'm in time out yet again. Won't you please spring me from this place?

I've got a problem. I love people and love to be cuddled and held and told how beautiful I am. I love Foster Mom and she takes good care of me but she has cats and I really don't like other cats. I am constantly getting into trouble because I chase her cats. I'm a tiny little girl but I'm absolutely fearless and chase those other cats (who are way bigger than me!) every chance I get to show them who's the boss around here. When I do that, Foster Mom scoops me up and I get a time-out in the foster room. What can I say? I get a lot of time outs.

If I could be your one and only girl, I'd be good as gold. I'm a world class cuddler, a good eater, and am meticulous about using the litter box. I need thyroid medication once a day but you just have to rub it in my ear and I'm very gracious about it.

Please ask about me and bring me home. If I could be your only girl, I promise that I'll be good and won't need any time outs!

PS...If you don't want me how about taking those other cats that live here so I can have Foster Mom all to myself. Don't tell her that I wrote this or I'm sure I'll get yet another time out.

Here is a picture of Lila in her new bed. She loves the bed but she also loves to sleep with me at night. She is a real snuggle cat. She has an appointment at the Vets next week so that the Vet can get to know her and he can she how she is doing on her medication. More notes later.

DAIQUIRI
Quieter, introspective guy with long legs and a long tail and the bluest eyes you have ever seen on a blue! I came in with roommate Angelina, and I am one of the most sensitive needy guys that's been here in a very long time. I need to be held and loved on as much as possible, gee, 25/7 would work for me if that works for you. Otherwise I'll wait patiently till you have time to carry me around and kiss me all over. I'm a lap sitter / hugger / patter / needy puss! I have been SO sad at the loss of my former life it's not even to be believed, but maybe, just maybe, there will be a light at the end of this ordeal?

Daiquiri is not the same cat that was in his first video. He is out about exploring everything. As we say “He is everywhere, he is everywhere” He loves his scratching post as well as his string and feather toy. The laser light, well you better get out of his way. He is normally sitting on the table by the door when we come home any time we have been away from the house. He will also sit on the table as you are leaving. Breakfast and dinner are his favorites. He can not seem to eat enough fast enough. Yet he is as skinny as a tub sock. He has to inspect the refrigerator anytime it is opened as well any and all cupboards in the kitchen. He is very sweet and will flop down in the middle of the room or hallway to get his belly rubbed. His lap sitting has greatly improved and we have hopes he will turn into a true lap boy.

RITA
I can't decide! I can't decide who I like more, cats or people!!!! I'm a gal with a loving heart looking for both a human bean and a feline friend to love. I had kittens but lost them, and thus I'm really craving other cats. I'm well socialized and loving, and I really love human beans. I haven't lived with woofers before so I'm kind of a newbie in that area, but I might be willing to learn. So if you have a household that needs a friend, human or feline, would you consider me?
Notes from Home
Hi! We love our little Rita, who actually is getting so big already! She is the most beautiful, sweet kitty. I am often amazed by the accuracy of Siri's description of her - "I'm not sure if I like other cats or people better." She sure loves that little Andy, and us too. She really enjoys getting rides in the baby doll stroller. I'm so happy we kept that! It's her special bed. We couldn't be happier with her and her little brother Andy!

Rita's fur is almost all gray now! (except around her chest and neck). Good thing we didn't change her name back to Snowy! She is getting cuddlier and cuddlier. She loves to head butt. I'm attaching some current pictures.

JOY
LOOK AT ME!!!!!

I was a shy little girl when I first came to stay with foster mom and dad. But not anymore!!

I just love to be where the action is now. See how relaxed I am? I am just chillin' on the floor here at foster mom and dad's house:) Don't I look comfy?

Know what would make me even more comfy though? A home of my very own:) I am cute and petite with soft fur and tiny white toes on my back feet. I love laps and pets, and BELLY RUBS - they are the BEST!!!! And I love the other kitties here too.

I would love to come home for Christmas. Do you have room under the tree for me?

Waiting........Tina

Joy is simply delightful!!! It was a difficult month until Hope was given a clean bill of health however, now they are both adjusting to each other. They are having a great time running around the house & the Christmas trees!!! We even witnessed Joy grooming Hope last night in our bedroom. They are still having their moments of sassiness but we believe they will be great friends.

RAMBOVA
Just arrived. More information and pictures soon but so far Foster Mom knows I'm a vocal girl when I'm not getting what I want like out of this isolation thing! All I want to do is play and cuddle. I am not shy at all and Foster Mom says "I'm very well adjusted". It will be a few days before I can meet the other cats but I'm pretty sure I'm going to like them. If you are looking for a wild and crazy kitten then I'm your gal and you better ask about me quick before somebody else beats you to it!

Notes from Home
Rambova gets along very well with Valentino. She likes to play with a feather toy and snuggles on laps.

ALBERMARLE- ALBIE
I Just arrived here over the weekend, but foster meowm already thinks I'm a "Hunka, Hunka, burnin' love". I have also been burnin' up with fever from this awful shelter cold, but they took such good care of me at the shelter that I am on my way to feelin' like my old loving self. Meowmy said I have to take medicine for a while more yet but that it will make me feel much better. I really believe her 'caus I take it without a fuss.
I can't wait to get upstairs in a room with another kitty cause I like company. I also like petting, rubbing, scritching, cuddles.......what ever you have time for. I will reach out and touch you with my paw for more if you stop before I've had enough. I have been on my own for so long that it feels sooooo good to have lovin' again.
Wouldn't you like a big ole mushie seal boy like me to love on??? Why not hit the ask about me button before someone grabs me up and you loose out.
I'll be waiting.
Mai Tai
12/12/06 Update: I'm here!!!!! I'm upstairs. See me sitting on the bed? Well, so far I spend most of my time under it, but Meowm coaxes me out with that special chin scritching and I sorta flop and roll around until before I know it I'm out. I met two of the residends here and we got along fine. I wasn't brave enough to play with them, but we sniffed noses and .....well you know...and that was fine with all of us. Meowm mom says she'll wait till I'm feeling braver till she introduces me to the dog. She also said that my color will darken to a beautiful rich seal color now that I'm feeling better. What you see here is the last of a "fever coat". So if you think you'd like a big, timid, lover boy, to let her know.
Mai Tai (but she's been calling me Tai (Tie).
YIPPEEEEEE I'm free! Meowmy let me out of my room and I explored all over the house. Some of the "ladies" here are grouchy, but a few are fun and that old guy is my buddy. I still hide sometimes, but then I'm right back out to see what I'm missing. I even watched television for the first time in a long while, while I was sitting on meowmy's lap. Such fun.

Notes from Home
It is hard to believe that it has been four years since Albie came to live with us. He is as much of a joy today as when we first met him. He has made himself very comfortable in his new home and has even become somewhat of a lap cat (see pictures). He is still shy around strangers though and will head to the basement when people come over. Over the years however he has become braver and will now at least venture out to see who it is.

Albie is very set in his daily routines, from the first moment in the morning until the last at night. He has his preferred spots in the house but generally likes to hang out wherever we are. He still enjoys his toys, especially the stuffed orange "creature" we brought from Jeanne's house. He also enjoys playing chase and hide and seek with Sophie. They never became "best friends" but do seem to get along and respect each other's spaces.

Albie has become a very loved member of the family and I can't imagine our lives without him.

ZAK
Hello All!

I came into rescue as tiny baby, I had a home for a year but my person couldn't keep me and now am back in rescue. Things are pretty good here. There are some nice cats, good food and big windows so I can watch the birds. I've only been here a little while so foster mom doesn't know every thing there is to know about me but she is learning. One thing she knows is that I am great with girl cats.

Purrs,
Zak
Notes from Home
Just a quick note, Zak is doing terrific here in his new home. Had to integrate him slowly with our other new female kitty as they are both kind of dominant personalities, but now they are buddies (still somewhat rough and tumble, but great play pals). He didnt eat all that much at first for a few weeks, but now he can't get enough food (EVO dry & quality canned food), he is filling out and thriving (he has no litter box issues whatsoever).

Everyone just loves Zak, he is playful, goofy and loving, you could not find a sweeter cat, Thanks to the volunteers at SCRC, and especially foster Fran who did a great job getting him ready for adoption, thanks so much. Uploaded some pictures, Zak with his new girlfriend Jazzy. -Derrick

Notes from Home
Somehow we began our new year with the sweetest little thing who happens to be extraordinarily beautiful. How did we get so lucky?
We loved the name Ellery, thought it really preppy, but we wanted to take part in choosing a name as a family. We decided on Maggie and then we met her. She was so exotic looking; she needed something bigger than cute. Ruby reminds me of an elegant lady with a bit of mystery about her. We thought it suited her. When I showed up at the vet for her first visit (all the pet owners in the lobby drooling over her) the nurse stepped out to the front desk and saw her and was really wowed. The receptionist says, "And you know what makes her even cuter? Her name's Ruby!"
I think we got it right.
Ruby has the sweetest temperment. She purrs over everything and calls for me when we're alone during the day and she doesn't know which room I'm in. Then as the day progresses and my husband comes home from work and the three kids arrive from school the house is shaking with the five of us, and she has no doubt about where any of are.
She's brave now. She used to run and hide at the sound of approaching footsteps and then reappear when we dangled her toy in front of her hiding spot - usually under my son's bedroom chair or under my bed - but now she tolerates the sound of shoes and waits for the arms dangling above them to pet her. That's certain to happen.
She's had a few unique hiding spots. One evening I looked all over for her, called her, walked all over the house more than once. I was ready to join my husband in bed and pulled back one of my two pillows to climb in. There she was sandwiched between them. She'd been there snoozing even while my husband crawled in bed and lay beside her none the wiser. She does prefer my bed just like my kids who whine for their own temperpedic mattress and down pillows. She however, just helps herself.

POPPIE
Have you ever lost a loved one? Me too, it hurts doesn't it?
Have you ever felt like you will never feel love or be loved again? Me too.
Have you ever been scared of any new situation? Well, me too!! Looks like you and I already have a few things in common!!!
My owner passed away and I miss having that constant 'love' and 'attention' in my life. I am easy to get along with and I don't mind being picked up and thrown over your shoulders like a sack of taters! I have stellar litter box habits. I purr a lot and love to sit by you, even when you are on the computer. I just want to be next to you. Don't you want to me next to me? The searching stops here! My name is Poppie and I am in a RESCUE program so please, RESCUE me. You are looking for a cat to RESCUE, right? I need that love and attention that I once knew and had and I know you have it to give. I can't wait to ride on your shoulders and see your home.

xoxo with purrs,
Poppie

Notes from Home
1/15/11 Hello- Wanted to update on Poppie. She has I think over 2-3 weeks without a trip to the vet-Yeaaaa!!! She is really filling out-such a pretty baby. I went to see her and Mom on 1/9. She is spending less and less time under the couch-new people and sounds will still send her there for hours but this is to be expected. She loves to sit next to Mom or be in the same room. I had Mom hold her while I trimmed her nails and she was very calm and compliant. She let me hold her and pet her. I will be doing this every 3-4 weeks. She was giving Mom little "love nips" and got carried away and Mom had to get an antibiotic. I told Mom to not allow any any TEETH behavior-zero tolerance and to hiss at Poppie when she attempted this as that is what mamma cat does. Mom practiced her hiss and so far no more nips. Poppie was just testing as to who is boss. Mom said Poppie is very talkative and Mom talks back to her all the time. I call Mom daily for an update and to check on both of them. Mom is slowing down a bit at 83. I am so glad she has Poppie.
