Are you an adopter that will continue to help me with my social skills classes & give me a small place to adjust & learn to trust you? If so, I may be your diamond in the rough! I've come a long way, but I continue to be a little unsure of people. I prefer a home that is quiet without a lot of activity & an adopter that has patience.

Soft purrs,
Louie

SAMSON
Howdy!

I have been in intense social skills 101 classes & am about to graduate. I've come a long way, but I'm still in need of the next series of classes when I go home. I will require a small space, a quiet home without a lot of activity & an adopter that will have patience with me. If we can work all this out, I think we will both be happy, as once I feel secure I love to cuddle & purr.

So what do you think?
Huey

Notes from Home
Leo is still the sweetest little man I've ever met. He is so loving to everyone he meets. He loves attention, greets us at the door every day, and loves to cuddle with us every night. Leo and his sister, Luna, play ALL the time, especially right after meal time. Leo loves to sleep in the sun (he has two window seats that he frequents), and his favorite past time is chasing stray hair ties. He has no problem telling you when he wants to be picked up and loved. He prefers to sit on your left shoulder, and would probably stay there most of the day if we let him.

This was a BIG summer for Leo, and kind of scary for us. During the second week of June, we noticed that Leo was pawing at his face right after we fed him breakfast. We took a closer look, saw blood on his paws and face, and immediately rushed him to the emergency vet. It turns out that he had lost a tooth, and the emergency vet told us he had gingivo stomatitis and would most likely need most of his teeth removed. We took him to his standard vet for a second opinion the next day, and they agreed that Leo would need most of his teeth extracted. During all of Leo's annual visits, we were told that his gums were a little red, but the vet always told us that, as long as he was eating well, then there was nothing to worry about. We had been giving him dental treats and kitty mouthwash in his water for the last two years, but his gums still got worse. So we scheduled him for his teeth extraction that same week, and the surgery went very well. He was able to keep a few teeth, but most were removed. Leo recovered very quickly, took all of his medications like a champ, and was back to his normal self within a week and a half.

Before the surgery, Leo ate a wet food twice a day and grazed on dry food. His diet is now 100% wet food (although he still tries to eat some dry food with the few teeth he has left). Other than his diet change, everything is back to normal with Leo! We took him for his annual check up a week after the surgery, and our vet said that everything with him looked great.

We are so thankful for Leo and all of the love and laughter he has brought to our family. He is such a loyal, loving, sweet purr ball, and I am so appreciative that Siamese Rescue helped bring him into our lives.

MAGIC
I can see myself in the middle of it all - playing, loving, racing, chasing and having a grand old time. While at first I was a shy wallflower I quickly blossomed into an outgoing interactive demando-puss! So a home with kids and comings and goings would be fine, I love to be the center of attention and love to provide entertainment. Oh, and I love to snuggle for hours on end too!

Hello!

Sushi, who was renamed Magic shortly after adoption, is doing great! He's got an entire screened in porch so full of plants it's like a jungle, where he watches lizards and lays in the sun for hours... I've taught him to sit, stand on his back legs, jump through a hoop, and stay! He is so smart and such a great companion. Also- I've renamed him Magic.

Hope all is well at the center!

Best Wishes,
Rayanne Mroczek.

Mitsie is still thriving as the sassy girl of our home! We could not be more grateful for you bringing her in and for being able to adopt her. Mitsie is a true joy every day of our lives, and we are happily celebrating her 2 year "birthday" today!

Athena, now Mitsie, is doing remarkable well in her new home! Her transition was surprisingly smooth and fast. Mitsie is always bright, happy and full of joy! Mitsie quickly bonded to our boy kitty, Teddy, and they are inseparable. We could not be more grateful for her and for you bringing her to your shelter. She is a true joy to have around us!

GI GI
Hello there! My name is Gi Gi. I came from a shelter where I had been given up by my owner use she had too many cats. I was in the early stages of pregnancy, but the shelter took care of that before I came to Meowmys house.

So far I told Meowmy that I like to be petted, and I'm a good girl with my litter box. Because I came from a home with so many cats, I'd prefer to have a new home with maybe one or two others so I'd get some attention. I'm not sure I like dogs yet, so I'll have to let you know once Meowmy takes me to meet one.

Ask about me if you'd like a pretty girl like me.

Purrs,
Gi Gi

Notes from Home
Gigi is an absolute delight. She and my previous SCRC adoptee, Simon, have become best buddies, and she also gets along well with my two dogs: standard poodle, Mitzi and Aussiedoodle, Abby. To match her small size, her meow is a tiny squeek -- no big Siamese voice here. All in all, she is a wonderful addition to my household. Will send pictures soon.

Okay, I do have a slightly elevated thyroid, but I take my meds like a champ and my other bloodwork is perfect. My kidneys are in great shape.

RAOUL
Outgoing and the MOST loving cat you will ever meet, I eat wet food only (one brand) and while I do beg a bit for food the rest of my purrsonality is just amazing. I'm child proof and loving and interactive and affectionate, I'm a little bit of a door darter but mostly because I love you so much I want to be wherever you go! Just a gem of a purrson!

Raoul just celebrated his "One Month" Anniversary with us. He is doing quite well. We are so blessed to have him. He is eating well and enjoying his new gastrointestinal snacks the vet ordered. He was a little clingy the first two weeks, but now he does his thing. He has a new water fountain and he loves his evening tummy rubs! He is the most loving cat on the planet. He is still a "foodie" and loves spending time with me in the kitchen. I have not changed his name because it's perfect for him. He does have a nickname though. We call him "Rooly."

DEE
Hi,
My new Meom tells me I need to be 'spayed'. Not sure what that means but she says it will be easy. So it will be several weeks before I can go home.
I'm just beginning to get used to my new playpen. There are some other kitties here but I don't know them well yet. So Meom is slowly beginning to see what my purrsonality is like.
More updates as we move forward and she gets to know me better.

Dee is doing great!! She fit right in here and gets along with all my cats. We just love her to pieces! She eats like a horse! She loves to wrestle with Merriadoc. He gets a lot of exercise now with Dee around. Dee loves to watch my Budgies and she gets up on top of their cage so I have to shoo her occasionally. She's an absolute joy!!

8/18/18
Dee rules the house at this point. Loves to be brushed. And she even lets me brush her teeth! She loves Merri. They wrestle and then lick each other.
She sleeps with us, usually leaning up against me.

SERITA
I am the sweetest, stunningly, most gentle souled lady! I have quiet murps and chirps and I am as nice and easy to please as they come. Won't you ask about me today? I would love to have a lap of my own and a family to give me lots of love.....

PS~ I will fit in just about anywhere, I am fine with other kitties, kids & woofers!

Notes from Home

Serita finally arrived at her forever home after a very long weekend of riding in a car. Being shy and unfamiliar with her new surroundings, she immediately dove for cover under my bed. She would only come out during the night when everyone was asleep and the house was quiet. After several days she started venturing out when I was moving around in the room. Thereafter, she would sleep at night on the foot of my bed. Her vet chase I up seemed to be a turning point for her. Definately did not want to get back in the carrier for another car ride. Arriving back home after the vet to the same place must have convinced her that it was her forever home and it wasn't bad after all. She became more open and willing to interact. She now sleeps curled up against my legs. I heard her purr for the first time after two weeks. She is more reserved than Mr. PickLes, preferring to be ladylike! She is affectionate, giving head bumps and rub arounds. We love her! Thanks to all who participated in getting her to her forever home!!! At week three Serita had another breakthrough. Instead of hiding under the bed, she took a nap in one of the kitty beds. She also jumps up on my Grandson's bed while I am reading him a bedtime story and cuddles up.
One month anniversary! Serita is coming out of her shell more with each passing day. She is vocal and calls to me to come and pet her. She gives lots of rub arounds. Hasn't shown any interest in playing with their toys, but seems to be content just being near me. Picking her up is off limits. Pet me and adore me is just fine. She has napped in one of the kitty beds and sat in the cat sized basket that I lined with the little kitty blankets to cushion it. She prefers to sit in Tristan's window and watch the kids playing in the yard and the birds flitting around the elm tree and pasture fences. I am hoping she will soon feel comfortable enough to let me cuddle her.

Another break through! Serita actually played with a toy! Ok, so it was only half-hearted, but at least she batted at a toy. I have a feeling she might like to follow some yarn dragged along the floor. Have to try it out.
Here it is Sept. 1st. The kids are back in school, including the youngest. I now have approx 3 hrs with no Grandkids to chase after. When the days are cool enough, the dogs all get shooed outside. That's when I can leave the door at the top of the stairs open to give the cats free run of the house. Serita is still cautious and usually only ventures to the bottom of the stairs. With the door open, she can see the front yard. She has ventured to the living room a few times. I h. ad been looking for a laser light to play with the cats. Today I found one. Serita thinks it's really neat. She has also started .laying across my lap when I am putting my Grandson to bed at night. She is still more reserved than Mr. Pickles but is making steady progress.

It's Serita's 6 month anniversary! She is very vocal, meowing for me to come upstairs to see her. She was not as brave as Pickles when it came to venturing downstairs. Her foster reported that she only ate after dark. Well, about a week ago was the first time I actually witnessed her eating. As soon as she heard me approaching her feeding area she immediately stopped eating A! I know she has been getting enough to eat because she now weighs 17 lbs! Time to double her play time. She loves chasing a laser light. It will be interesting to see how she reacts to the Christmas tree in the house. We just put it up today. Serita loves to have the base of her tail scratched. She gives me love nibbles when I scratch her. She also has abondoned her kitty bed for my bed. Serita is a really sweet addition to our family. She and Pickles get along together well. They often snooze near each other, although not touching. Hoping to get her slimmed down. I am considering changing their food formula to help her lose weight.

Here we are with Serita's first anniversary just around the corner. She had a good check up with the vet except for one issue, her weight. She is 18 lbs. the vet says she is very shy and sensitive. It was ten months after adoption before I ever saw her eating. When she noticed me watching her, she hid under the bed. Because of this behavior it is very hard to determine just how much she is eating. She is also very secretive about using the litter box. Serita is very vocal, talking to me or letting me know she wants my company. Mostly she is content to be near someone, not necessarily touching.

Serita had her annual check up with her Dr. She has lost a little weight but not enough for Her Dr. To cancel her concerns that she might become diabetic. Her food has been changed and only set out at certain times so she does not get too much at one time. Serita is becoming more socialized, not hiding under the bed as much. Like Pickles, she has her own kitty bed but prefers to sleep on mom's bed. She likes to cuddle up to my legs. The laser light continues to be her favorite toy. Her coat and skin are in much better condition. The flakiness is gone and she has stopped chewing on herself. Serita is a lot more talkative than pickles.

Serifs continues to be more talkative than Pickles. She still runs for cover when the door at the top of the stairs opens. As soon as she hears my voice she comes out of hiding. The laser light no longer holds her attention. She is actively using a scratching post even when she is being watched. She also loves batting at my Christmas cactus. Keep finding pieces of it on the floor. Fortunately she shows no interest in eating the plant. She is still very secretive about using the litter box or eating when I am present. Once in a great while she will use the litter box in my presence. Her coat and skin have shown no further sign of the flakiness. Still trying to get her weight down. Switched their food to a lower calorie formula in the Blue Buffalo product line. Also found a different litter that is low in the dust department.

2018 brought great changes. After three noisy Grandsons and 3 noisy dogs it was a great relief to have an empty nest. Serita has become much less secretive when it comes to eating and using the litter box. She is so relaxed now and stays close to Mom but will not yet curl up in my lap as Pickles does. She loves to stretch out on the living room rug and snooze in a patch of sunlight. Serita sneaks off with P’s catnip mouse and plays with it, rolling around on the floor while clutching it in her paws. Her weight is much healthier having lost a couple of lbs. she now easily jumps up on my bed when she wants to do some serious sleep time. Her check up went well. Serita has no interest in looking out windows as does Pickles. She is quite content to be a full time indoor kitty.
We just had a major breakthrough in Serita’s trust issues. She has always been secretive when it comes to eating. She would always wait until after dark when the house was quiet and everyone was asleep. Tonite while cleaning up the kitchen after dinner I gave the cats a fresh bowl of water and refilled both of their food bowls. To my surprise and delight bot Serita and Pickles started eating together! It was 4+ years coming but at last she feels safe in her “forever” home.
