ROUSAY
I am feeling much better, so foster mom says I can start interviewing new homes !
My owner got sick and couldn't take care of me, so I found myself in the shelter- it was pretty scary and then I got sick. Rescue came and brought me to a foster home, and promised there would be someone out there looking for a sweet boy like me. Will you celebrate the New Year with me tucked in next to you ?

Notes from Home
01/13/13 Rousay went in for his vet check this morning. Poor dear was so frightened by my trying to catch him and hold him long enough to get him into the carrier. I almost made it a couple of times but he escaped and went behind furniture and the box I had put out for him, etc. However, I finally caught him and he checked out wonderfully at Dr. Felix' office. Everything looks wonderful and the best we could tell, he now weighs 9.0 pounds (he kept trying to jump down when we let go to check the scale). When I brought him home I let Stenness sniff at the front of the carrier and there was no hissing so I'm hopeful that when I do let Rousay out, there won't be any confrontations. I let him out in his room and he immediately scooted into the little house under the cat tree; I replaced the crocheted blanket over the opening so he was truly hidden. I straightened up the room and left him for the rest of the day. When I went in to take him his supper just now he had cleaned out the rest of the breakfast bowl and did let me stroke him while he attacked the new bowl. Then I sat in my chair to read a bit and he scooted back into his little house. After awhile I tried dragging the wand toys in front of him and he eagerly grabbed at them but didn't come anywhere near all the way out. I was pleased that he was coming out to eat and that he played a bit and even let me stretch to put a finger into the house to rub his head and cheek, so he recovered from the trauma of the vet visit as well as I had dared to hope.

BRODY
I had my eye surgery and it went well. I still have a little bit of the inner eyelid showing in the corner of my eye, but that doesn't bother me at all. 'Foster mom says it gives me character or am I a character?? Hmmmm. I should be named Speedy the way I love to run around the room, and I'm fast. I love toys and that track ball is my favorite. (Meowmy said she'll let me take it home with me, too)

I give good headbutts and kisses, too.

Update: 3/15/12 Dr. Connie saw me today and was so please with my improvements! She looked in my mouth, too, and said I now have "big boy teeth", but I don't use them on meowmy. She said I'm now ready to go to my forever home! So, come on! Tell meowmy I'm the guy for you so I can go home!

Purrs,
Brody

Notes from Home
Brody has settled in. It took all of about 3 minutes. He met Max through the kennel door. I opened it and he walked out and gave Max a head butt and that was that. Max keeps tabs on Brody and lets me know when he is into things he shouldn't be. It has been all smiles on my part watching these two get along. Brody spent the first two nights in his safe room. Last night he spent on the rug at the foot of the bed with Max. He loves the toys his foster meowmy sent. Especially the cube. The photos were taken the first evening that they were together.
4/11/12
Took the crew to work today Brody needed his ears cleaned.. Brody stole hearts again, but there was one puppy that wasn't quite as thrilled as everyone else. Our first family photo as well.
4/20/12
Sir Snots-a-lot as I have been calling him recently isn't as snotty as he was. As expected his herpes flared due to the stress of the move. His eyes have cleared up as well. He never missed a beat playing with his new friend Max. I don't even need to turn the TV on for entertainment in the evening. I am really happy things are working out so well. I just knew he was the one. Maybe some new photos soon. He is getting a little plump. I wouldn't want anyone to say I am over feeding so things have been adjusted to remedy that situation.

4/29/12
Was away for the first time and the house sitter wasn't at the house much. My lamp was stylized will have photo soon. I now have claw mark cutouts to decorate the lampshade. He woke her up at 6am both days this weekend. She wasn't happy. That little pat pat pat on the side of the face. He hasn't wakened me so far, but I don't think Max will let him on the bed when I am in it. Still lovin the boy!

6/10/12 Brody has been enjoying my bay window. He watches Max and I as we go to the barn and watches for us to come back. I know that he would rather go with us, but I don't think that he will walk well on a leash. He and Max have been quite entertaining. Brody on the back of the sofa with a strangle hold on Max's nose. Then they were wrestling on the bed. I still can't believe what a purrrfect match they were for each other. Hopefully I will get some new photos for you soon.

Oct 7 2012 I can't believe that it has been 6 months since Brody came into our lives. He is the best. He greets Max and I at the door on his cat tree. He wrestles with the dog Max. They are so fun to watch. Max is so gentle with his little friend. Brody goes on the attack and then will clean Max's face. He has become my little bed buddy although he does seem to prefer snuggling up to my boyfriend Don when he is in town. All in all things couldn't be better with the way Brody has settled in. As you see in the photos he makes all the houseguests welcome. Ferdinand at the time was a 5 month old Bull Terrier who was with us 3 weeks while his owner was overseas. He and Brody also had a great relationship. and Brody seemed to miss him when he left.

1/13/13 Brody had first trip to the clinic as a patient since I got him. He decided to eat part of a chewed up dog toy and got a bit of an intestinal obstruction. Some fluids and hairball remedy took care of the situation and he is back to his old tricks. He loves to jump up on the back of my chair and make it rock almost to the point of tipping over. When his new canine sister Callie came back for her spay surgery "Papa Brody" took good care of her. He washed her face and napped beside her to make sure that she was ok. I really love this guy he is the best. I threw that old dog toy away. I will be careful what I get for the pooches in the future.
1/11/2014
Happy New Year. Brody is doing well. He is still acting as person in charge. He has another new friend. We had a kitten come into the vet office to be neutered and I fell in love with Brody's twin. I haven't finalized his name yet currently it is J.C., but I may change it to Jack as in one eyed. I posted a photo that a friend of mine took while they were staying at the office over the holiday. You can tell they absolutely hate each other. Now the odds are even two cats and two dogs. Brody really likes his new friend. J.C. was missing his eye when he came to the shelter. He also has chronic herpes. Lyseine treats keep them both happy.

Notes from Home
As you know we renamed O’Keefe, Kiefer and he celebrated his 6 month anniversary with us on Jan 6t.h He has adapted quite well to our living habits and routines and to our relocating to our SC home last Oct. He is very loveable and craves being the center of attention with Marlene and I, however; he is quite skittish whenever someone else enters our house and he runs and hides under the bed until they are gone no matter what the duration of their stay. Our daughter comes over frequently and always goes and looks under the bed and says hello and makes nice with him but he still remains under the bed until she is gone. We thought he would outgrow this but no luck so far. He enjoys our screened in porch where he can go and watch the birds and squirrels; we keep the door slightly ajar and he is able to come in and go out as he pleases. On a cold day he likes to spend time in the garage investigating the cars and my tools etc. His appetite is good and he manages to eat 1-2 cans of wet food and a bowl of dry on most days. He spends most of the evenings sitting with Marlene watching TV and then on her bed to sleep. We can’t imagine our life without him, he is such a JOY

SIRI
If you are looking for a mellow, gentle soul who loves to love and be loved, you should ask about me!

Notes from Home
Siri Miliani (FNA Yana) has been with us one month today.

Siri is so comfortable in her forever home. She now has the run of the house, selected her favorite spots to relax and observe and likes(as the spirit moves) sleeping upstairs with Mommy and Daddy.

She and her new brother Keona have become friends and are getting along well. They both enjoy the 'chase' up and down our stairs. One moment Keona is chasing her, the next Siri is chasing her brother.

A big thank you from us to SCRC's Director Siri, Kathi and Siri's foster Mommy Kathy......They are tops!

------------
Siri loves her forever home. She likes to sit in front of the computer screen when I type and watch the cursor move around the screen. In fact, she is trying to capture it right now. About two weeks ago, on Feb. 16, we got a delivery from Hawaii. On Feb. 26, Siri found and knocked a large Hawaiian centipede off of the dining room windowsill. EEEK! She has earned the nickname "The Brave Bug Hunter." She loves dry cat food (mixture of Blue Wilderness and Spot's stew) and is not interested in canned cat food at all. Siri and her brother are now the very best of friends. She is an absolutely wonderful cat.
-------------
Siri is still doing great. She fits into the family here perfectly. Memories of "the box" long forgotten. She loves sitting up in the cat tree watching the birds outside on the nearby bird feeder. If there are no birds, there is always a leaf or two blowing across the yard to capture her imagination. Just doesn't get any better than this....
6/4/12
Well, it's been almost 5 months since we adopted Siri.
Keona has the girl of his dreams.
A rowdy playmate and someone who will wrap around him and sleep.
Not only can she run as fast as he does, she can jump a lot higher.
One day when they were playing, he ran over to get her and she jumped
straight up in the air, and went over his head.
He was totally astonished. He just sat there.
Now, one of her nicknames is ninja kitty.
Here is a photo of them together on the couch.
She is snuggled right up to him, just like his sister Anika used to do.
Thanks again,
Mary

Siri has been here for 6 months now, but it is like she has always been here.
Fits right in. She is very close to her brother Keona and he is extremely happy about that.
One of the new things she is doing....is sleeping from time to time in the sink in one of the upstairs bathrooms. Maybe its cooler in there? She definitely feels comfortable in this house, that's for sure. I have attached a photo of Siri in the sink. :)

January 11, 2013
As of today, Siri has been with us for 2 years. She is an absolute sweetheart and has become the very best fried of her brother Keona. On these cold winter days, they can often be found wrapped around each other on the couch.

DIALA
Aren't I adorable? I looooovvve to cuddle up with you and be carried around like a baby. I am young so I like to play with toys and have a good time. I am a good eater and I am good with my litter box as well. My foster Dad says my legs are super long which makes me look lithe and graceful.

Notes from Home
Diala is adjusting very well after just a few weeks at our home. She ricochets around the house and makes sure to wake us up in the morning by bringing her newest "prey" onto the bed and flopping around. While she doesn't let us hold her like a baby and pick her up, she lets us plant kisses on her head. She's also gotten comfortable enough that she'll lay on our laps for a good head scratch, or she'll stretch out on our king-sized bed and use her hind legs to push us so she can get more space for herself!

Diala is doing great! Her diarrhea has ceased and she seems to REALLY enjoy her food, maybe too much! She still doesn't like to be picked up much, but she likes to climb onto my husband and I around 5:30 in the morning and look for a head rub. She's talking quite a bit, and has toys galore all over the house, which she hides under the couch and bed...

So after 6 months, Diala is very well adjusted. She's fallen into our rhythm and sleeps with us at night, then runs around during the day with her favorite squeaky mouse toy, which she'll play fetch with. She's taken to crawling onto our laps when she feels like she needs a good head rub and some snuggling, or she'll spend her time watching the squirrels outside. She talks often and loves to roll around our bed, flipping around and somersaulting. She is absolutely the sweetest cat, we love her!

Diala is doing very well and seems to be pretty happy. She's adjusted to having a new friend (Miso) and while it's not a love match, they are like brother and sister. They chase each other around the house, wrestle, have staring matches, share toys and groom one another. Miso is definitely very playful and naughty (we call him the White Devil) and sometimes Diala will give him a good whack when she wants to be left alone. Miso sleeps on my pilow, wrapped around my head, and Diala sleeps at our feet. She's resumed her habit of sitting on our chests in the early morning and she even started purring again like she used to-- at least until Miso comes clamoring for attention. So while there is some "sibling" rivalry, we make sure that they are both loved to death:)

BUDDY GUY
I've been daydreaming about the perfect home... Plenty of good food, lots of toys, a screened-in porch or a nice window with a view of butterflies, birds and other critters, a faithful human to wait on me hand and paw. Oops, sorry, got carried away. I'm just a youngster so I'm very playful and curious about everything. Translated: Put away your collectibles! I'm a little leery of people until I get to know them. Once I do, though, I'll be your "buddy" and we can chat about your day...or mine. Foster mom says I'm like my namesake because I can sing the blues and I have a very wide vocal range. You can hear a bit of my vocal talent by watching my video.

Buddy has been with us for two months now and is a beautiful little cat. He was nervous when he first came but attached himself to my husband almost immediately. He is always near him and talks up a storm, especially if something isn't quite right - like feed time has been delayed.
He will let me pet him and sit on my lap but it's all on his terms.
We are very happy he came to live with us.

Notes from Home
We are sooooo happy..."beyond words" after bringing Katy (aka: KittiKat) home. We got home 10 minutes ago (from Lamies Tavern, NH...a pleasant ride) and Katy is already playing with her toys! She seems right at home and is smelling "everything"! Guess she's making sure there are no other cats here! LOL More to come...and pictures too! THANKS 1,000,000 EVERYONE!!!!!!

Well, we changed KittiKat's (aka: Katy) name again.....to "Little Girl" as this is what we've been calling her since she got "home". We lost "Big Boy" last month, so it seems only fitting that she be "Little Girl". We LOVE her! THANKS to all who helped in this adoption process at Siamese Rescue!

Name changed for the final time to "Miss Minnie". Perfect for this little "fluffy" lady.
She is doing sooooo well in her new home. We are extremely happy!

My first visit to "The Feline Hospital" (my new vet) was yesterday. They LOVED me....not so much my "weight". Hmmm I need to loose 1 pound before my next visit in July. Best of luck to my forever Mom and Dad with that! LOL I love my new home...time to go knit somewhere...purr, purr.

Looking for a good time? Me too! I love to play and I love to carry on a conversation. I'm easy going and adapt easily, but am sensitive underneath it all, so need a stable, kind home. Very vocal when I travel, so hoping to stay within a 5 hour drive of VA.

Simon is happy and very playful. Christmas was very good to him in the toy department. Neighbors and the farm staff that found him bought toys for him. He is enjoying a good amount of spoiling and greets me with the dogs at the door everyday when I come home from work. He bosses me to the warm chair next to the fire place by pointing and talking. Once I take my direction and sit down he jumps up into my lap and cuddles, talking to me while being petted and as a general rule we both fall asleep quickly!!

KI-LIN
Wow! Its been a wild ride. I'm still scared, trying to learn to trust people. I'm going to need someone who is truly rescue-savvy, who understands my unique needs, and has a world of patience to allow me to come around in my own time, at my own pace. Things are looking up. After I got "fixed," I've calmed down a lot, and I really enjoyed spending time with foster dad this evening. Am I perfect? Nope. But I deserve love and a forever home, and I promise to reward you in my own way.

A very belated update on Jackie (as she's now called): Jackie has been the perfect addition to the family. She is very sweet and spunky. Even the annoying things she sometimes does (like pouncing on you in the middle of the night!), are so cute you can't really get mad at her. I think I was one of the only, if not the only person who expressed interest in adopting this wonderful kitty. She probably seemed like too much of a risk (she didn't appear to have experience with people, was terrified, and wouldn't eat initially while in foster care). But as her foster Dad suspected, she just needed some patience to come out of her shell. I worried that a feral/stray cat would be unhappy being a house cat, but she's never shown any interested in escaping. Again, she is such a warm, sweet cat, and I want to urge others not to be afraid of adopting a cat that might need a little extra care at first. I couldn't be happier with Jackie. The Siamese Cat Rescue Center did an excellent job matching Jackie's personality and needs with my own, and I'm grateful for that.

1/9/14
1 month update on Puff:

Puff has adjusted very well to her new home. She no longer hides when someone comes to the door but is eagerly waiting for us when we arrive. She had her first vet exam and the doctor says she is extremely healthy (and cute). The vet was also EXTREMELY impressed by the care provided through Siamese rescue so keep up the great work. Puff is so sweet and loving we could have not asked for a more perfect pet. She met my family for the first time this holiday season and they just adored her especially when she head butts them and gives them lots of kisses. She did try to climb the Christmas tree and made it 2/3 of the way to the top. She also loved to knock down all the ordainments that she could reach from ground. Puff even made an appearance in our family Christmas card this year! Puffs new years resolution is to stop trying to play with the people on the TV screen.

12/14/13I would like to start by thanking everyone involved with Puff’s adaptions. She has been a blessing and we are so lucky to have her as a part of our family.

When Puff arrived she was hiding in the back of her carrier and was so scared she did not want to come out. We gave her some of her favorite treat (baby food) and soon she was out and behind the coach. About 10 minutes after that she was head butting Andrew and me eager for some love and attention. The first night she discovered her new favorite toy (the “purrfect leather bouncer”), which she carries around the house dragging the stick behind her when we are not playing with her. She spends all day with me while I study and follows me everywhere. She loves to sleep on my notes and plays with my highlighters, pensile, ect. (she is very dedicated to making sure I get work done). I created a perch for her on my desk, which she now loves! She can look out the giant window next to my desk and still stay close enough to me that she is happy. Once Andrew gets home its time to play! She jumps, drives, and runs around the living room till she is exhausted. She then sleeps with us at night and has become Andrew new furry alarm clock that wakes him up about 15 minutes before his alarm so she can get some more attention before he leaves for work. She has adjusted very nicely. She is eating well and purring up at storm. One of my friends who meet her says she has never meet such a sweet cat that purrs so load. I cannot believe she has only 5 days because we already love her so much.
