Notes from Home
It has been 4 years since we adopted our sweet boy. We bought our own home a couple of years ago and Niko loves it. It is an older tri-level house that looks like a giant cat tree, so he has a great time running up and down stairs and zipping through the house. We continue to adore our lil fella as his personality and confidence continue to grow!

MABELINE
Hi there, and Merry Christmas from Merry! (that's me!).
I'm a nice snowshoe kitty and love to cuddle and play. I went to the vet today for a vet check and met a nice doggie there and wasn't afraid of him, so Meowmy said I could go home to a nice doggie.
I do have a corneal scar in my left eye, but it doesn't affect my vision. Dr. Porter thinks I did something to it when I was a tiny baby and this is how it healed. It sure doesn't bother me, and Meowmy didn't even notice it when she first met me, but if you look close in my pictures, you can see it. I hope that won't scare you away from asking about me.
I have good litter box habits, make bread on Meowmy when she hold me, and love my kitten chow, but I'm not too crazy about the wet food.
I'll be going for my spay on Friday (12/20) and you'll be able to ask about me soon after.
Purrs,
Merry

Notes from Home
Dear Rescue Friends,
I am so happy to share nothing but good news about Maybelline's adjustment into our family (just me and my six year old Snowshoe, Mr. Wilde; but with Maybelline we're now three!) Mybelline has the run of the house and pllays hind-n-seek with Mr. Wilde from inside the dome house you sent with her. She still doesn't have anything to say and hasn't meowed since arriving here, but purrs all the time even when she's playing. Her tail gets all puffed up when she get's excited and it's hard for Mr. Wilde to keep up with her sometimes, so he perches on top of his scratching post and just watches her fly by so he can catch a breath. She likes it when we play with her but she's also quite content to play and purr with her toys all on her own! She still has a kitten face but has gotten taller!, and I am having a great time watching her grow! Maybelline has brought so much happiness our home and she does keep us entertained with all her antics. Thanks to everyone, especially to her foster mom and the vounteeers who brought this special girl into our life!! Will be sending a photo soon!

Notes from Home
petunia is growing nicely, and coming out of her safe room to explore the rest of the house. she comes when called, but i have to allow her to do everything on her own, or she feels threatened. she has been eating and eliminating very nicely. my only problem w/ her is the hot spot behind her ear that she keeps scratching at.
9/12 unfortunately, petunia has been needing to wear the e collar due to her hot spot, which is getting much better, but which hasnt stopped itching her. it's completely healed, but until she stops scratching, i have to make her wear it. she is also very sloppy in the litter box, which im hoping is temporary due to the collar. she often goes on the side of the box, instead of the middle, and gets her waste all over the sides of the box.
aside from these two things, she's starting to relax more and take over the house. she's very dear...she lets ppl hold her, but she's not very comfortable with it at this point. i'm hoping that once i can take the collar off, she'll come into her own. she is very attached to me and follows me around like a little puppy!

MOLLY MAY
Sweet 2 paw declawed girl looking for her forever home!
Molly May just arrived at her foster home/kitty spa and has already received a wash, comb and massage. She is enjoying lots of fuss and pampering to help her recover from the unpleasantness of her last few weeks going from being a stray to being in a very busy shelter.
Click and ask about her today to get on her list and to get updates!

Molly May is the most wonderful fit for our family. I kept her name. She is the seal point diva. She is on top of everything even the refrigerator! It's amazing how far she can jump. She keeps disappearing, though. I found her in the linen closet and even in the attached garage. I have to keep an eye on her so she doesn't escape. After a month, she even sat on my lap. She loves to play. Unfortunately, the 2 males I have don't want to play with her. I can't say enough about how wonderful the organization is!

Temerance is royalty. Her coat is soft as velvet and her personality has gotten bolder. She talks to us and purrs all of the time. She loves to play with the toilet paper rolls and just about anything she can get her hands on including us.
Tempe is still the happiest cat I've ever had. She finds the good in everything.

Emmy Lou is wonderful. I kept the name Emmy Lou because my father's initials we M.E. and my mother's middle name was Louise. Emmy's health is very good for her age. She is now hyperthyroid so is on medication for that twice daily and I give her Dasuquin every other day to help with a painful hip. Her yearly exam is due next month. She does not like going to see Randa, her doctor, and hisses at her and her assistants. Luckily, Randa does not take it personally and still loves Emmy Lou. My daughter and her family moved here to Jacksonville from Richmond this summer so she will keep Emmy Lou any time I have to go out of time so that Emmy Lou won't have to board again. I only boarded her twice but I felt bad knowing that she had been abandoned at a boarding facility and spent 8 months, basically, in a cage. Thank you for acknowleging Emmy's adoption anniversay. Your center is awesome.
February 8, 2014 Emmy Lou passed away two weeks ago at the age of 19, She had developed a malignant rumor on her jaw which, because of her advanced age, was inoperable. I miss her.

Notes from Home
5/29/13-Pawlly continues to be a treat. She did quite well with me going to work yesterday and when I got home she was raring to go. After a brief cuddle it was play time and she wore Mom out. I ended up giving her her catnip candy cane and a furry mouse and she amused herself while I watched. She's certainly not shy about eating and drinking my stuff. I was eating a cookie and she decided she had to nibble a piece off. She also enjoys drinking my water but she insists on using a paw. If I catch her too late she'll just dangle the paw in the water while lapping with her tongue. I love her cute little antics. There's never a dull moment with her.
5/30/13-Pawlly did her first no-no today. I was holding her in the kitchen when one of the other tenants walked by the closed front door in the hall. Pawlly actually looked at the door and growled. It appears that she doesn't want to share her Meowmy with anyone. We're going to see what triggers the growls and work on breaking that habit. She's friendly to people in the apartment and loves it when they scratch her ears and pet her. It wasn't a big no-no but we can't be growling at people. Heaven help anyone that breaks in, the watch cat will get them, lol.
Pawlly has allowed me to capture her life story.
Pawllyanna Finds A Place
There once was a kitty named Cotton
Who thought that her life was rotten.
She just wanted scritchin'
But her people wanted kittens
So she didn't know exactly what to do.
The kittens got all the petting
Which made Cotton begin fretting.
Her people had a fit
and declared, "This is it!"
Then cornered Cotton with some netting.
Cotton ended up in a shelter
Where the conditions made her swelter.
An angel soon found her
And put her loving arms aound her
Then promised her life would soon get better.
She was taken to a foster
And chipped in case they lost her.
Then they had her fixed.
Her baby-makin' days were nixed.
But all of this baggage would cost her.
They put her picture online.
A furever home they wanted to find.
"Must be only cat."
(Gee, she must be a brat.)
And so everyone looking politely declined.
Till one day one lady did see her
And loved all that soft tortie fur.
Please don't think I'm rude,
I don't care about the 'tude.
She'll have a new name to greet her.
Now Pawlly won't leave my side.
Her world and mine did collide.
She'll always be my baby.
No if, and, or maybe.
Together all our time will we bide.
6/4/13-Pawllyanna had her vet visit today. She came through very well. She had dirty ears and came home with ear drops. She also has gingivitis and may need lysine as maintenance for her gum health. She absolutely hates to be restrained and gets a serious case of the wiggles when she is has to be restrained. She took the holding and ear drops like a trooper, though. She strutted around the house when we came home too. She thought she was hot stuff and she was so cute.
Pawlly is a very well-behaved girl, but she has taken to scratching on the couch when she wants attention. She stops when you touch her paw and tell her no which is good. The more we play, the less she does it. I really wish she'd just use her scratchers but at least she listens. I'm guessing that she'll stop when I finally give her all the attention that she deserves.
I certainly love my chunky monkey and wouldn't trade her for the world.
6/12/13-Pawlly and I are both in heaven. She continues to delight me and I her. She is a playing machine and there is nothing funnier that watching her roll around with her toys and roll off the couch. She also does flips and somersaults on a regular basis. She is also smart enough to know how wand toys work and she'll play with me for a while before she pulls the wand from my hand. What a character!
She loves to pop into bed on occasion and get some loving too. She's not shy about walking across the pillow to peek into your face if you're facing away from her either. I'm not sure I like her sitting on my pillow but she sure is cute.
We're managing to overcome our scratching issues too. I haven't totally broken her of the habit but we're getting there. As she gets more and more relaxed around here, her true self is coming out. I am totally in love with who she's becoming and she truly is my soulmate. I sure picked a winner. Kudos to Joyce for making sure that she was realistically summed up for her bio.
6/22/13- Pawlly continues to blossom. She's such a loving, caring soul. She is also one of the most intelligent Siamese that I've ever known. She has my routine down already and anticipates what is going to happen at certain times. One of her major weaknesses now is the laser toy. She will chase that thing down like the kitten she is. She has become quite frisky in the month that she's been here. I can't believe that she spent so long in foster. She is quite the little charmer and even has the landord in her group of admirers. She is such a good girl that she doesn't even need to be contained when he comes over to fix things for us.
She's got wonderful manners and quite a sweet tooth. It would seem that she LOVES ice cream. She only gets a few licks when I have some, but she will st patiently by and wait for her share. She also is quite fond of her Greenies. She's got some comfy new blankets and lots of new toys as well. At times, she comes out and just sits looking at her things. I'd like to think that she's remarking about how she's got a home of her own and some stuff to call her own. She still looks at me with adoration in her eyes as well. Of course, I look at her that way too.
I've been mentioning to my friends that since no one knows when her actual birthday is that we're going to celebrate it on her adoption date. It seems that everyone likes that idea and Pawlly already has a list of about 10 people that have made plans to join us on that date next spring to celebrate her day with her. She is so blessed. She truly is my purrfect little angel.
7/6/13-It's been about 6 weeks now and all is going well. Pawlly is scratching her kitty condo on a regular basis and that makes her Meowmy very happy. She is still her happy little self and she continues to fill my heart with joy. She has 2 speeds...hyper or sleep, lol. She's 2 1/2 but certainly acts like she's 2 months. She is so happy to have the run of things here that she regularly does laps and then just flops down next to me for some loving.
A couple of times I've woken up to find her pressed up against me in bed. She waits until I'm asleep before curling up close but she's feeling comfortable enough to actually do it now. She does hop into bed every day, though, for loving before sleep and first thing in the morning. I'm so proud of her.
She's also managed to fight the wiggles while being restrained. We've managed to get to the point where I can hold her tight and unsheath the claws on her front feet all by myself. I've been trying to acclimate her to that so that I can keep her front claws clipped without having to drag her to the vet all the time. We're getting there. She does her Meowmy proud. It's hard to believe that she's only been here for about a month. I wouldn't trade her for anything in the universe.
7/20/13- Pawlly and I just wanted to share some milestones. We've recently entered the phase where Pawlly will meow her requests without feeling like she's being bad. She's becoming very chatty and her Meowm is very proud of her. She is also showing much more affection. She will touch me when lying on the bed and park herself on my foot if I am up doing something. She's also willing to be right next to me and touching me much more often than she was. She still is reluctant to do much jumping but she's getting there. One of our newest changes was to put her "cat house" in front of the window. She is much more willing to scratch on it now. It also makes it nicer for her people, bird and squirrel watching. She's so cute because she will jump in through one of the windows and exit by walking down the steps. It's adorable to watch. She sleeps in it for hours. We've added a few new pictures too. I'm absolutely head over heels for my baby girl. She's the love of my life and by the adoring looks she gives me, I can see that I'm hers.
8/18/13-Pawlly and I are still doing great. She is just the sweetest thing on 4 legs. We are sleeping together every night and cuddling during the days. She's getting more comfortable and has started to actually sleep on me or at least with her butt on me. We're getting there. We are so bonded now that she has actually allowed me to clip her front claws. We aren't up to the back feet yet but this is a true milestone. She has been able to curb her wiggles and while she's not nuts about me doing it she only growled at the very end. At no point was she wanting to bite but she wanted to make sure that I knew she wasn't enjoying it, lol. She sure earned her Greenies for that one. I see her being a lap cat by the end of the year...at least for her Meowmy. I would not give her up for anything now and I believe that she feels the same way.
2/7/14-Pawlly has been such a delight. It's been a while since I've updated, but much has happened. Pawlly is my shadow and follows me around like a puppy. She's fine doing her own thing as well, but happiest by my side. She is comfortable in every nook and cranny in our home and finally claims the entire place as her own. She has even discovered the joys of sleepingn on my lap. She was tentative at first but quickly warmed up to the idea. She's still a bit leary of strangers but she has no issues with her Meowmy at all. She's even been able to control her impulses when she gets overstimulated. She will only mouth things like fingers and has mastered the art of "Soft Paws". She's super intelligent and quite the talker now as well. We've even managed to pick up a boyfriend. They haven't met yet, but Pawlly is here to stay no matter what. I've mentioned that fact to the boyfriend and he agrees that even if they don't get along that Pawlly is not going anywhere. Our lives are pretty complete and I continue to delight in her every day. She's my purrfect little princess and she's definitely here to stay. I wouldn't give her up for anything.

Well Muffin is doing wonderfully. She loves her wet food and gets 3 ounces a day plus dry food.
She has no issues with the litter box. All my kitties eat together. They all get along very well. She's
so cute and we all love her.
Our 1 1/2 year old male cat Tigger loves to play with her. The funny thing is if he gets a little
too rough with her she puts him in his place. But they're still both fond of each other.
I'll send some photos of her soon.
