Notes from Home
There are almost 5 months I moved to Maryland. I have to admit I was a little upset initially. My trick is to "hum" to keep me together. For few days i was humming a lot but i quickly realized that at home, it was only me and my new mom.
I am not quite a cuddling cat, I like to keep my distance but I follow my mom everywhere. I like to know everything - i am "a little" curious! My mom is stubborn though and persisted, hugging me all the time for few minutes. I have to say, it is not so bad after all as long as it does not last forever!
After 2 months, I finally broke the ice and moved to her side on the sofa. After 3 months, I started to see the advantages of a warm duvet at night. Now, I occasionally sleep on her lap.
I have become super cheeky - I poke her when she is not paying attention to me, bring her my toys to throw and i am great at playing hide and seek. My favorite time is evening time - I am so full of energy; I run, jump, roll and roll.
My mom is making fun at me: i cannot meow - I try my best but I squeak only! I could - of course - but I prefer keeping my voice intense for my major moments: despair, when she is working on her computer for too long!
I am the most picky cat on Earth for food. Chicken was my thing, but I realized that tilapia was much better... My mom buys me treats and makes my table like a Chinese buffet but when I don't like it, I show it well: I pretend to burry it!
Overall, I might be genetically 50% siamese, but I am 100% princess.

ARTIMUS
Big ol' hunk of fluffy lovin' coming your way! I'm a gentle, calm, friendly soul who likes lap sitting, headbuttin' and purrin' like a fool! If you're a cool cat too, let's talk today! I've lived with other cats before (Phoenix is my brother), and foster mom thinks my temperament would be great with kids. I'm just that kind of guy, so you better dial my number quickly before I'm snatched up! Check back this weekend for my glamour shots!
Purrs & Headbutts,
Artimus

Notes from Home
After being with us for almost 2 years now, Artimus is an integral part of our family. He's marvelous with our 4 year old son - he even tolerates the full body hugs that sometimes come his way. The two of them share toys, both preferring to play with the other's toy instead of their own. Right now we are going through a move and Artimus was amazing on the airplane. He's already settled into our new digs and is ruling the roost.

3/28/14 - I just can't believe that Artemis has been with us for only 4 years. He's such a part of our family now. We moved from Maryland to Colorado and Artemis took the move so well, that I wonder if he was more ready for it than we were! He loves sitting in the windows of our new house and gazing out at the rabbits who live in our neighborhood.

KATNISS
Now does my little face not say....I'm sweet, I'm lovable, I'm social & I do/do not get into trouble? The trouble part you will just have to see for yourself! Naw...really I'm just a sweetheart with beautiful baby blue eyes just waiting to melt my footprint into your heart.

I have a sweet brother too named Peeta...we are a pair...so if you are looking for two...ask about us!

You won't be sorry if you are lucky enough to have us march right into your home & hearts!

Notes from Home
12/25/12 Hi everybody, here I am, Katniss, with my brother Peeta (Panda). If you thought we were cute before, you should see us now! After less than a month, we settled into life with our new mom and dad right away, and just cant thank Debi (foster Mom) and Kathi (our placement coordinator) for getting us off on the right start. We're non-stop play, snuggles, purring and 100% LOVE.

wishing everyone a happy new year,
Katniss
2/23/13
well here are your little kittens nearly all grown up.
they're given us so much joy!
just last week, right before my eyes, they both started to change color, from creamy beige to the silvery gray you now see on Katniss. it happened within a few days, amazing.
panda is my LOVE, wow, he's handsome, incredible proportions, nice big head, affectionate, smart with a wonderful temperment. I am very attached to him, funny because I wasn't sure he liked me when we first met at Debi's. what a lover. he seems a little smarter than his sister but who knows....

katniss is more of a wild child. she's more needy and clingy, and likes to stomp on my head in the mornings when she wants breakfast. her agility, tracking instincts and speed surpasses her brother's. when they play with their toys, she's fierce, always the first to win, always first to finish her food, etc. now that Ive read the book her name really suits her. she also always wants to be on top or in front.
they play and race around all the time, panda can even play fetch and bring back his ball, then they wrestle very hard and fall asleep in each other's arms. jeff has so many pictures of them sleeping! several times a day, we call each other and say, 'you have to come look at the cats." they'll be in some adorable position. they're a great pair.
healthy appetites both of them, we have them on high quality food. I introduced them to cooked vegetables which Amby ate her whole life, and other grains/protein. they are healthy and strong. they're both great with the litter box.
kathi I broke down and bought them a furminator when the shedding got out of control, and they both love to be combed. they both actually anjoy being handled in general, a big change from our aloof Amby and I have to say much more fun.
thanks to you both for getting them off to a great start. will send more updates soon.
we have them out in california now, but are headed back to DC in May.

dear fans,
well we just passed our 1 year birthday, marked by a car trip right past Culpeper VA where we were born and came to Siamese Rescue. panda and I are doing great. I'm living up to the name Kathi M. (our adoption counselor) gave me - a little bit of a wild child and pretty fearless. panda on the other hand is mellow and cuddly like a bear, the best big brother a gal could hope for. mom and dad just DROVE us cross country, so we got to see all the states between Northern California and Washington DC. we're just a walking, talking, cuddling, meowing, drooling (panda) advertisement for Siamese rescue. thank you so much to our foster Debi, to Kathi and Siri for taking such good care of us, and getting us on our way.
love, katniss VA8837

hi fans!
oh the joys of technology!
my brother panda and I yesterday had a video chat with our BROTHER and SISTER Koko and Moka and their Mom and Dad, Jeanne and Skip! We are SO MUCH ALIKE, unbelievable!!!

I am very much like my sister Koko, and Panda and Moka are practically identical, same deep blue eyes. mom and Jeanne couldn't get over it. We have all developed into just beautiful, affectionate cats -- if I do say so myself!! with classic, playful, lovable Shoeshoe personalities.

we've kept in touch with our siblings and all feel very blessed. Mom and Aunt Jeanne say they hit the jackpot with us kittens!!! and we are ALL so grateful to the gang at Siamese rescue - Siri, Kathi and our foster mom Debi who got us off to a great start.

love, katniss

We have been blessed by Kit-kit for 6 months now. She settled in nicely with our 3 other cats. She is so loving. We can't imagine life without her. She sleeps right on top of me at night....nice and cozy!

Thank you all for the work you do. You save meezer's lives and bless the lives of the adopters.
-----------------------
We cannot believe Kit-kit has only been with us 5 years now. It seems as if she has been part of our lives for ever. She is a real ambassador who gets along with other cats and has a knack of helping new arrivals to settle in. Thank you for this precious gift of love in our lives. We would adopt another older cat in a heartbeat.

Notes from Home
Curly Joe is enjoying his new home. Here are some pictures of him. The one in the basket is probably day three. The other photos are from today. He is a lap kitten with me and my son. He really likes to be around people and is still exploring our house. We are making progress with doggy too. They are learning about each others language.

I hope that you remember Curly Joe now that we have had him for three years. He is a fine feline with many unique traits, now gives the dog welcoming kisses when she comes in from outside, meows to ask where we are in the house, and wakes me before the alarm every morning. He is a delight to have around. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with FIP at the end of last summer and so now his health is declining. We have learned to give him daily injections of ringers lactated solution even though he does not know it is for his own good. He is still our friend a few minutes later. I hope that someday there is a vaccination for this disease too. He is a fighter and our vet said she could not believe how active he still is. We still love him.

LATTE
Elegant and friendly. That's what I am. I am a classically beautiful snowshoe. Slim, very Siamese looking and only 6 1/2 pounds. My almost twin sister, Mocha VA2536, and I were turned into the shelter this week because our owner was moving somewhere we couldn't go. The shelter people called Siamese Rescue right away and they came to save us. Now we're in a loving foster home but it is not the same as our own home would be. I have perfect litterbox habits and am friendly and outgoing. I love to play with toys and chase my sister. We are very bonded and hope that we can be adopted together. If you are looking for a classic pair of beautiful girls, we're ready to come home! Congrats Linda in VA!

Notes from Home
Mocha (VA2536) and Latte are doing very well in their "furever" home. They have lots of windows with sun and birds, enjoying good health and lots of love. They are now known as Doodles (Mocha) and Lacey (Latte). They are very devoted to one another and nap together every day. Everyone who meets them, loves them, even people who claim they do not like cats!
We treasure our girls and look forward to many more years with them.

Notes from Home
3-20-14. Macy name has been changed to Sassy. She chose this name because she feels it fits her personality. Sassy has adjusted wonderfully and sits in her bed on the couch or on my mom's bed or on her lap. My mom has to have the snuggly blanket on her lap before she will come up and join her or will meow at her until she has it properly in place. She has so many cute quirks: Wet and dry food cannot be on the same placemat; must be on separate placemats or she will take the placement from under the bowls and cover the wet or will meow at my mom until the food is in its correct place. Folds the 4 corners of the liner in the litter box into the center like a package after she does number 2. I guess she feels she has left a present for my mom to open. She likes to play with the wand toy that came home with her (Thank you for the goody bag) and the little mice. We have gotten some more toys for her and she will go over to her box where we keep the toys and will pick out what she wants to play with . She tosses them around and rubs against them which gives my mom a lot of laughs. She will still do the heaving motion but we are giving her hair control since she is very meticulous about her grooming. My mom loves her and has come to realize that she is now living in Sassy's world but that is just fine with her.

2026/14 - My mom has had Macy for a little over 2 weeks now and she has found her forever home and my mom has found her forever loving companion. As told she came out and was ready to meet and greet. Only took 2 days for her to start settling in and now sleeps with her, jumps up on her lap for pets and attention. Just watching an over grooming and heaving issue but added hairball food to her current food to see if it helps. Very pleased with SCR from the start of the process to the finish.

PRESCOTT
Are you looking for that quiet, demure guy who is just gorgeous? Well look no further. I've been here at Foster Mom's for awhile now, and I'm really giving her a chance to see what a sweetheart I am. I get along great with all of the other fosters, and I like to play with them sometimes. I like to flop down on my belly for a little playtime or nice tummy rub. And if you stay still too long, I might just try to wrap myself around your ankles. And then I'll give you a little ticklish love nibble. I could go on...why not ask about me and get the scoop from Foster Mom.

Purrs,
Prescott

Notes from Home
I can't believe it's been 8 years since I joined Lou and Fran. You know they moved from Hudson, Ohio to State College, PA ? since I stay indoors, the only thing that changes for me is the view from the windows. Fewer birds and squirrels to watch here. I'm sad because my companion, Sweetie, died last month. I guess it was :her time" because she just curled up and went to sleep and dreamed of the Rainbow Bridge. Next thing I knew she was there ! I didn't mention we were a 3 cat household since last summer. Lou and Fran's son moved into a place that didn't take cats. (What kind of a place couldn't take cats ? Anyway, Lou and Fran gave this black and white cat named Casper a home with Sweetie and me. Yikes ! Whoever heard of a female named Casper ? She stayed in the basement for months, but when she started to come upstairs, Sweetie and I did our best to send her back down...well, that's probably what sent Sweetie over the edge...Now I hiss at her at least once a day, but she's stubborn and I'm too old for confrontation. I'm thinking about relaxing...she is a companion and knows her place. She always waits for me to finish eating before she comes close to the food. I miss Sweetie, but Casper is supposed to be related to her in some way. I'll let you know how it works out. Oh, I had a growth on my ear that was removed by Dr. Jones. It didn't hurt, but it ruined my image...well, it's gone and I am up to date on all my shots...this other cat, Casper, likes to play and we have some toys she brought with her...maybe we can be friends after all.
Take care,
Prescott.

TEDDY
Update 11/28/09 It is confirmed! I am younger than those beans thought! I am, well I KNOW I am 3 and a half, and once my shelter cold goes I'll give them a run for their money unless there is a warm lap to snuggle up to or a hand that is idle. I still have Foster Mum responding to my "hello" as I can say it very, very well!

MEOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Look at ME.

Foster Mummy says that I'm a big beautiful muscular boy that is just too handsome for his paws and struts like I'm on the catwalk. My points on my feet just glisten.

If you want a big, loving boy in your home, put your paw on the Ask About Me button. Better pics coming soon after I get over my head cold.

Notes from Home
17 March 2014
The protector is settling into his new house quite well. My job is to go from window to window and keep other cats away from our property. I know the best windows for watching the squirrels running along the fence and the one window that allows me to look into the bird hotel bushes. Like my buddy Dragon, I am a food thief, so I now eat meals out of a dog wobbler treat dispenser. Not a big deal, as I am smart and don’t really mind working a bit for my meal.

11 July 2012

I am the big blue boy of my new home. After loosing my mommie, I was very sad. With a little time and lots of cuddles and headbutts from my new humans, I am adjusting quite well to my new life with them and the other meeexers, Dragon and Diamond. Dragon is a great playmate, sparing and chasing toys with me. Diamond is a tough little girl to get to know - I am trying to play with her once in a while.

Previous Update from Jo Kirby

Teddy has decided that all of his toys belong in my shower. Fixing breakcast can be a real chore, as he has decided that he likes my Cherios. He also decided to bring a potato chip that he found on the kitchen floor into bed to snack on while I napped. He cuddles up to me every evening (his head on my hand) and then he says HELLLOOOOO at about 3AM every morning.

Everyone that has come by to meet Teddy, has just fallen in love with him. He warms up to everybody - head butting them and walking around their legs - not an ounce of fear or hesitation - he even liked the cable guy and tried to help him with the cables. I have informed my son-in-law that when he comes over, he can bring nothing larger than a coin purse, as he has also fallen in love with Teddy.

Every day is a new chapter in my life. He is constantly finding new things to do - capturing my heart even more. :-)

DRAGON
I go with sister Diamond, more soon!

Notes from Home
17 March 2014
Dragon the explorer here. I was ready for anything with our move. I was always happy to explore my new surroundings. I immediately settled into our new house and began looking for the best places to hang out and nap. I am just a little bit crabby at mealtime right now since my humans are forcing me to eat my food out of a dog puzzle feeder. They say that I have stolen too much of Diamond’s food and need to trim down a bit - how rude of them to say that.

July 10 2012
Sensitive Dragon here. My humans have realized just what a sensitive boy I am. They have spoiled me to morning tummy rubs and regular cuddling. My mate (Diamond) also continues to cuddle with me during nap time. Playtime now includes wrestling with my mate or running about the house with Teddy (the newest addition to our family) chasing a ball.

December 6 2009
Our sensitive boy has also opened up even more. Belly rubs are a daily request and so is “fetch time”. He loves to play fetch with his balls that have bells inside and he also likes any other toy that has a bell in it. He is also my riding buddy. I ride every morning and he usually sits up on a shelf and watches or sits in the window next to me so that I can periodically pet him. He also likes playing with covers (see attached picture).

August 30 2009
Dragon is our bag and window boy – he loves to get into a bag or an open window. His favorite toys are balls with bells in them and small mice that make rattling noises when knocked about. He will sometimes even play fetch with the balls. He often makes a strange little noise when he plays. He is our morning boy - wakes us up every morning by walking all over us - and only purrs in the early AM (i.e. 3-6ish AM).

They both love to sleep together in a dog bed that my mom bought for them. It is perfectly sized. They frequently engage in rounds of gently play, rough-housing, and cleaning each other easily transitioning from one activity to the next. When they play and run up and down our stairs, it sounds like we have a herd of meezers in the house! Both sleep with us at night - mostly on our legs. We are thoroughly enjoying our lives with them. :-)
