Howdy!

Here I am -- hangin' out and catching some rays.

I'm a hunk of burnin' love. I'm a BIG boy, and I've got BIG love to give. I know I look "manly," but I just love to snuggle and purr.

I'm doing all the right things, including using my litter box. The silly person who used to have me said I didn't use it when she let it get real dirty -- well, duh! Anyway, it turns out I had a food sensitivity issue. I've never had any litter box issues in my foster home. And my foster mom found a food that agrees with me --I'm doing well now. My poop is great!

I am in heaven when I have my foster mom all to myself! I follow her around like a dog. But I'm not fond of other cats - or at least not 4 of them - like my foster mom has. It's not that we fight, but the males get on my nerves. Part of the problem may be that I don't have any front claws and the resident cats do -- I feel naked.

Although I'm doing much better after a couple weeks with all of my foster mom's cats, the ideal home for me would be with one or more humans who can be with me a lot and would love to have me close to them much of the time. I may be OK with one other cat - probably a laidback lady - as long as I get lots of attention from my purrson(s).

I'd really like to find a forever home where I can love and be loved.

Notes from Home
Toby joined our family 3 years ago! He is such a sweet and loving baby! Over the last year, we have had some extreme changes in out lives: I lost my 15 yr old dog and my 9 yr old dog. Losing Casey (my 15 yr old dog) was incredibly difficult! She passed away at home very peacefully as she slept in my arms. Toby was such a great comfort to me Casey and my other dog Ernie. 1 month later Ernie was diagnosed w lung cancer (very suddenly and unexpectedly) the next two months were horrifying as I watched the cancer consume my baby and eventually had to put him to sleep. Toby was so attached to Ernie from day one... So he really stuck w Ernie and I'd often look over to see him snuggling up w Ernie!! Toby quickly took over Ernie's little habits! The final change came w my new addition of my lab Madeline that I rescued last June. These two have been inseparable since day one. I have attached a pic of them laying outside. As I get Madeline to the back door to go out.... There's toby ready for his leash to go out w her!!

Toby has made everything a bit easier through all of these loses! His little happy face hat comes running to me as I open the door, he is the one that wakes me up each morning; he chats w me- it cracks me up with his little sweet voice on this big boy!! Toby is such a baby! I love him more and more each day! I knew from day one he was a perfect fit, but I had no idea that he would become such a rock for our family! Those big blue eyes make my heart melt!! His sweet little purrs as he curls up next to me to go to sleep each night.

I can't thank you enough for bringing Toby to my family! He is such an amazing cat with a personality as big as Texas!! I tell him each day how lucky I am to be his mom!! ;) I love him more and more each and every day! He's my big smushy man!!

Notes from Home
Hi Everyone, Miss Ooh La La says hello from Indiana and she is getting on so well. She is into everything and I don't think there is an inch of my home she hasn't inspected. She sleeps with me every night and I think she has been in her Millie bed twice! She seems to be enjoying her new home and her routine for playing and eating. Thank you to everyone that took such good care of her, she has truly found her forever home, we feel fortunate to have her!

MISS DAISY
Please!! Do you really want a curtain climbing counter jumping kitten? Nope...well consider me!

I'm wise and experienced...and very smart. I won't stand aside for any other females and want to reigh as Queen Bee. Someone has to be in charge and I've decided it will be me regardless of where I reside.

Typical confident seal girl personality....looking for someone that knows the definition of FOREVER please.

Love,

Daisy

Notes from Home
Hello Everyone! Miss Daisy went to the Vet yesterday and checked out fine. Her ears had some debris from the previous infection but no living bacteria. Katy Lewis our vet put in some medicated ointment to help clear the ear canals but other than that she is fine. There was some mention of a caugh but Daisy has not shown this yet. She eats well, is resting comfortably in her own room for the moment and will introduced to Leonardo sometime in the coming week. I am not sure when the Siamese Vet report was to have been sent to our Vet but as of yesterday afternoon they had not received anything. We brought what documents we had but in case there is something else please arrange to send the complete report to: Wilmington Animal Health Care, 6801 Gordon Road, Wilmington, NC 28411. Fax and e-mail is 910-791-7906 and e-mail is www.wilmingtonaminalhealthcare.com. Will keep you posted on the progress.
Regards, Carm and Cele Tomass

LOUISE
First Prize: Most Promise

I've arrived! I mean, I finally have it figured out! You see, if you sit under the cage all day, nothing much happens. Life passes you by and all you get to see is feet. So I took a chance. Out I came, meowing in my petite 6 pound voice. And hey, it worked! I got tons of attention, and now I've got it figured out! You meow, you follow someone around, and eventually they sit down and let you climb on their lap and purr and purr and purr! So that's what I'm doing these days, and if you're looking for a petite sealy gal with a purrsonality of gold, that would be me!

Notes from Home
Hi everyone at SRC,
I already have my appointments with my doctor and my yearly visit with my tooth doctor . Right now I am an only kitty because my brother passed away. Mommy and Daddy think they will wait to add a bro or sis because I am very happy as a one and only! I can boss my Daddy and Mommy around without interference. I can stare my Daddy into jumping up and checking my food, I play hide and seek behind the shower curtain with mommy and jump out at her, I plop down in front of the door so they have to step over me to go out, and purr and purr.

I know they love me lots because even though I have cat scratches my favorite places are their chairs and sofa.

I want to thank you for taking care of me until I could find my forever home. My mommy and daddy think all of you are the best.

Love,
Loulou

P.s. I was renamed Loulou after my grandma Lucile! My mommy' mom. She thought I was very special too!

OLIVER
Just arrived and settling in easily. I'm a little timid at first but warm up quickly and have a deep purr. Like to be brushed. Not sure about other cats yet but update will follow. Foster mom will update my info as she gets to know me better and once I'm dry, she should get some additional photos.

Additional note: Blue Gene has a healing bite wound. Because of this - he must be combo tested again on May 14 to verify that he is FeLeuk/FIV negative. He cannot be adopted (go home) until this has been done.

Notes from Home
Oliver's one month anniversary is today! He has adjusted to his new home amazingly well. He loves to play with his wand toys but he has also discovered small whiffle balls with bells inside. Oliver chases the balls and brings them to us to play ball. He wags his tails like a dog and follows us all over the house. He loves to be petted and brushed - he purrs in anticipation of being petted. He is so friendly and loving. And, he's a talker (and we talk back). He is very smart and seems to understand what we are saying. Oliver has perfect litter habits and eats well (he is not picky and has eaten a few different wet foods we have tried).

We are just so thankful that Siamese Rescue matched us with Oliver! And, a special thanks to his foster Mom Kay for caring for him during his transition to us.

p.s. Oliver is getting a Siamese Rescue sister on Saturday.

KOBI
Here I am, back in rescue. Could not believe I was getting a bath! But, I did allow it with much grumbling. It was said I didn't get along with the others. Right now I have a room of my own and waiting to find out how I do with the residents as soon as my isolation time is up. I do enjoy being around humans and love to rub against you and purr. Like to play laser tag which keeps me moving, There is lots to love. Please ask about me.

Purrs,
Kobi

MARCI
I decided after 2 days of hiding that it was time for me to come out & show what a nice girl I am! My foster meowm offered me some treats, which I LOVED & then she offered a place on her lap, which I LOVED! I think she's learned how to crack my shell of secrets!

So are you looking for a pretty seal girl? If so, I may just be the ticket to being the love of your life! Go on & ask about me, as you will not be disappointed!

Marci has settled in so well here in Brooklyn! She is very talkative, friendly and affectionate. She sits on our lap and plays with her toys, and has the cutest mannerisms - she loves having her belly rubbed! She has a little bed next to our bed, but we wake up most mornings to find her curled up at the end of ours. We really could not have asked for a more perfect and wonderful cat. We're a happy family!

Notes from Home
It is with a very heavy heart that I am letting you all know that my beloved Simon (formerly Yoyo VA4136) passed away suddenly last week. I arrived home from work on the evening of 6/11/14 and found him dead on the floor. What a shock . . he was absolutely fine when I left that morning. He hadn't exhibited any symptoms at all in the preceding days or weeks. That morning he played and wrestled with his fur-sister Shelby, was groomed by me, got some individual petting and loving from me, used his litterbox, ate . . everything was perfectly normal. The vet didn't know what happened, thought maybe he had an arrythmia or perhaps had cardiomyopathy with no symptoms. He had no known health issues. He was only 8.

I am heartbroken and miss him so much. He was the most gentle cat I ever had and was so sweet. It's devastating to lose any pet, but when it happens so suddenly the loss is so hard to believe.

Shelby and I are comforting each other. She misses him too.

I hope this update reaches the Siamese Rescue volunteers who were so wonderful and helpful 8 years ago when I adopted him. Melanie was his foster in Tennessee and Pamela was my interviewer. You all do such a wonderful job and when I am ready to adopt again, which I will do, I'll deinitely be in touch.

Thank you for rescuing Simon and getting him into my life. He was a terrific and much-loved addition to my cat family and I will miss him always.

Sincerely,
Joanne Wilczynski
