Do you like chocolate? Do you like meezers? Then I'm the girl for you! Foster Meown says that I'm every flavor of chocolate! The tips of my ears and my tail are deep dark chocolate. My nose and paws are sweet white chocolate. In between, I'm creamy milk chocolate. All this chocolate , and no calories to worry about - just a super sweet purr-sonality.

So, I'm a snowshoe Siamese, named for my snow white feet. I'm a happy girl, purring, making bread, and head-butting my foster folks. I'm learning to enjoy being in the sunshine on the screened porch, and also learning to relax around my foster brothers.

I'm talking up a storm as I enjoy living at the Italian B&B for Wayward Siamese in Connecticut after being on the streets of Queens, NY, and at a vet's office for nearly a year. Now I have a big room all to myself, with a huge people bed, soft pillows, and windows! Foster Meowm says that I'm quite beautifully marked, and can't believe how dainty my feet are!

I had a little surgery to get rid of hurting lump on my tail, and I was such a good girl during all of it that Dr. B. called me his princess. I like being brushed, and I have excellent litter box manners. Meown's amazed that I'm such a happy, resilient meezerette, despite the challenges of being on the streets, and then in a cage for a year. I'd rather snuggle in the pillows, dreaming about a fur-ever home with you.

Notes from Home
Mimi is a wonderful cat and she is really coming along. She has sat on my lap in the past few days and has played with her toys, something we did not know she really knew how to do. She is learning to trust us and we are learning how to read her. We have learned that she does not like black shoes and will hiss at them. She is also very sensitive to smells and will swipe at you to let you know she doesn't like whatever is on. Other than that, she is great. She has been playing paws with two of my cats under the door and I have let her sniff noses with Itzhak and Penuche. Cassie doesn't really engage with play but she has been outside the study door. This weekend we will let Mimi also explore the house with the other three contained in the dining room.

Mimi had five good years with us. Even though I just recently emailed to tell you how well she had been doing, we had to take a very sick cat to the vet yesterday and today we had to say goodbye to her. The cancer on her tail was back (we had her tail docked 3 years ago when the tumor returned) and she had a sugar count of 900. She was in multiple organ failure and ketoacidosis. She was fine until we noticed she did not eat on Thanksgiving evening and was weak and shaky yesterday. In April she had a normal checkup and we knew she needed a dental. I am so sorry. We loved her dearly.

RYKER
***Warning - Too Cute Video ahead!***

If you're looking for a fun, energetic and loving meezer to add to your furry family; look no more! You found me!!!

I love spending my days running up the cat tree, playing with balls, wand toys and anything with a feather attached. After a long day of playing, I just want to curl up in your arms and take a long nap.

My dream family would have another kitty or dog for me to play with. I love, love, love other furry friends. And of course, I need a lap for my afternoon naps.

Purrs,

Ryker

11/27/14: Ryker is completely awesome & a huge 1-year old now! We call Ryker the personal trainer for our older cat (whose diabetes has gone into remission now that he's on Ryker's exercise plan [wrestling arena & laps around the house]). He loves, loves, loves kitty treats & he likes to stand in front of the computer monitor during critical gaming moments. (Lol!) Thanks again! We are so thrilled to have him.

2/24/14: Ryker is growing every day. What a great guy. We all adore him! He's doing great. :-) Thanks!

1/1/14: Happy New Year! We are thrilled with Ryker & think he's happy to be here too. Everything is going well & we're enjoying his warp speed mode (compared to my older kitties here) & his sweet nature. Thanks!

RAVEN
Hi, My name is Raven. I was lost but now I'm found. A nice lady brought me in and called Siamese Rescue so I would have a warm new home. I talked to her, I talk to the Vet and I talk to Fostermom. I tell them all thank you because I was cold and hungry. They tell me that someone would love me to come live at their home and be their best buddy. I'm very friendly and loving, I want to be with you all the time, I'm very easy going and I'll talk to you and tell you stories. Would you like that?

Hi, I wanted to thank you for the human treats and the toys that you sent with Tristan/Sebastian. He is settling in fairly well. Last night he spent the night hiding, but today he is exploring his new home, well the room he is in that is.

Thanks again,

Pat and Bree

Sounds like Sebastian is doing fine so far. He should settle in easily with a little time. Please keep me updated and make sure Sabrina spends her quality time with him :)

Day 2

On 11/25/13, getkicking@verizon.net wrote:

He actually has taken an instant liking to Sabrina. She has been spending equal time with him and the other cats so that no one gets jealous. Tonight was the first time he didn't run and hide from me when I went in his room. He sat on the end of the couch ready to run should I do anything like move toward him, so I sat on the other side of the couch and didn't look at him. That peaked his curiosity, and I could see him moving his head back and forth trying to figure out if I was safe or a threat. :) After awhile of just sitting there I picked up one of the feather toys and with a little couching got him to play with me. These things take time as I well know from my previous cats. I am happy that he has bonded with Sabrina so quickly.

The other cats are curious as to who or what is in that room. :) I figure by Friday December 6th I will introduce them to him one at a time, and only one a day. I will put him in his carrier, so that they can not touch each other. It is a slow process, and one Sabrina doesn't quite understand. As they say "Rome wasn't built in a day."

I hope you have a wonderful Thanks Giving.

Pat.

For some reason the website is not accepting my pictures even though they are in jpeg format. Kay, can you post the picture I sent to you on the above email?

Day 4

Sebastian is adapting very well. He is still a little timid, but he is playful and energetic. He loves being scratched behind his ears and down his back. He loves playing with his toys that you sent and the ones we bought for him. We bought hima scratching post with a bed on top and he prefers that over the plush bed that we got him. He is starting to loose his baby teeth, and I would imagine very soon he will be shredding the scratching post to remove his kitten claws. I have some double sided tape, just in case he wants to use the couch instead. :)

Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone. Sebastian and the other cats will be enjoying fancy feasts diced turkey for dinner as well.

I managed to get the picture uploaded. It must have been the firewall at work that prevented the upload.

Day 5

Sebastian is really coming out of his shell. This morning when I opened the door to his room, he sat up on the couch and mewed at me to come in and play. He was not interested in playing with his toys, but as soon as I sat down on the couch with him, he got in my lap and gave me that look of "Go on pet and scratch my back." Followed by the impatient look, "What are you waiting for, pleasure me NOW!" :)

After he had his fill of petting time, he decided it was time to play scratch my belly so I can bite your fingers. I love playing that game with kittens, too bad they grow out of it. At least for now he loves it and he is very gentle, which surprises me. He doesn't bite hard nor does he extend his claws. I have never experienced that in any of the cats I have raised since I was old enough to remember.

He did meet the Matriarch cat "Spunky" inadvertently. I went into his room to check up on him and play some more, and realized that she was standing behind me staring at Sebastian. There was no hissing or growling, just a lot of staring. Eventually Sebastian ran behind the couch and peeked around the corner to see if she was still there, but she had already turned around and left by that time. I think in time she will want a more closer inspection, but from now on I check to make sure that I am not being followed. :)

He got to meet the sister-in-law. At first he ran behind the couch, but once she called his name, he came out and played with her. I think Sebastian is going to be a "Ladies Man". He seems to be more comfortable around women than men. Maybe I should nickname him gigolo. :)

He finished off the day Fancy Feasts turkey and gravy mixed with Fancy Feasts Kitten formula Turkey pate.

Sebastian waves nightie night because he fell asleep shortly after eating his Thanksgiving dinner.

Day 7

Sorry for the gap there were lots of things going on over the holiday.

Sebastian is growing by the minute it seems. He has doubled in size with in the last week. He has begun to get curious about what is beyond the door to his room. He has run out of the room a couple of times this weekend, but I do not think the other cats are quite ready for him yet.

I will start introducing them this week. They have been watching him from under the door and when we go into the room they are usually behind us trying to see what we have in there. I expect a bit of hissing, sniffing, and the sort. The visits will be very short at first, maybe 1 or 2 minutes only and one cat per day. I don't want to traumatize them or Sebastian.

Sabrina is supposed to get me some more pictures to put up. I will have to remind her.

Two week anniversary,

Today Sebastian gets to start exploring some of his "BIG" new home. We closed off all the bedroom and bathroom doors and let him out to explore. He was a little timid at first, but now he is going from room to room smelling everything. He has not yet encountered the other cats yet, but sooner or later he will.

He hates wearing his collar. It is however a necessity. The two bells warn the other cats of impending kitten. :) I have always done this when introducing a kitten into an established house. He keeps trying to take it off, it is so funny. Hopefully Sabrina will get some pictures of him standing on his hind legs and moving his front paws over his collar trying to get it off.

More updates to come.

Pat.

Well day one of introduction turned out better than I had hoped. At first Sebastian was scared of the size of our house, 5 bedrooms 2400 sq ft is big for a kitten. His first trip out was short and we put him back in his room after about 5 minutes of adventuring and hiding behind furniture. After an hour he was ready to explore some more and met the other cats in the process. After a few hisses and growls, he soon developed a "I don't care attitude" to all the cats but Spunky the oldest. Bless his heart he tried to warm up to her many times, but she would have nothing to do with him. He would come up to her and lay flat on his belly and submissively look up at her, just out of paw range of course, hehe. Oh well, give it time I suppose. The other two cats didn't really mind him so much. They ignored him pretty much. If he got too playful they ran and hid. So over all not a bad first day out for young Sebastian. He is spending the night in his room and the day tomorrow while me and Sabrina are working. The other poor cats need a break I think from his exuberance and energy. LOL. I thought he was supposed to be a subdued male? hehe I guess not LOL.

Heaven help the other cats, that is all I got to say, hehe. He has totally destroyed all toys you sent and the ones we bought. I think he has part puppy in his blood, he chews on everything LOL. I have attached some more shots to the web site and this email. Enjoy.

Day 18

I have to give Sebastian credit, he is trying so hard to get the other cats to like him. He knows who is the boss, Spunky the 14 year old Tuxedo cat. He will approach her, just out of paw reach, and lay flat on his belly with front paws together and extended forward. It is almost like he is bowing to her, but I know in cat terms he is taking a submissive pose. She still hisses if he approaches with out her consent or jumps on her tail. She likes to wag her tail back and forth when she is angry. Of course Sebastian thinks it is a play toy, LOL. She may hiss and growl a few times, but she doesn't smack him with claws out, so there is hope there. She did actually go up to him on Tuesday Morning and sniffed with out hissing, well until he got too close that is. It will take some time, but he is slowly winning her over I think.

Now as for Sabre the next oldest (13), well let us just say those two are fire and ice. She is very jealous, and not only hisses and growls but has actually smacked him a few times with claws out. She has some very distinct places in the house that she has claimed as hers. She will even hiss and smack at the other cats if they invade her space. Well it is bad enough that we are using her bedroom as Sebastian's room, but when he jumped up on my bed yesterday, I had to use the squirt gun you provided. That was the last straw I suppose. Most of the time they avoid each other, and I expect them to continue that practice once they get it settled on what places are hers and what places he can have. They also got into a fight because he was eating out of her dish, hehe he will learn.

As for the young female, Stella, she has been hiding from him the past 3 days and shows no sign of wanting to get to know him at all or even get near him. This too is probably jealousy because she is not the youngest anymore, but in time I think she will come around.

Today, Sebastian has been in his room all day, and I do not intend to let him out tonight. I think the other cats need a day to process, this bouncing white fluff ball of high octane kitten. LOL More updates later in the week.

4th week update:

Sebastian spent a week getting to know the other cats. We let him out in the afternoons while we were home to help referee the interaction between him and the older females. At night we put him back in his room, more to give the other cats some time off from this bouncing white fur ball named Sebastian nicknamed (Devil's Spawn). :)

On Sunday he spent the whole day and night out with the other cats. It went fairly well. The Oldest female is starting to bond with him as a mother/child which is what we hoped would happen.

The Princess (the spoiled middle cat) does not like him at all. Anytime Sebastian invades her space, or her designated spots in the house (my room, the Den where we kept Sebastian, and the kitchen where they all get fed) she will hiss and smack him with claws extended. Other than a couple of scratches, he is none the worse for wear. I think he will eventually learn to leave her alone and not intrude on her space, either that or they will bond, but I find that highly unlikely. She is too "Prissy" to share. We had the same problem with the three year old when she was a kitten.

The three year old doesn't his but runs away and jumps up on things that Sebastian can't reach yet. So I am not sure what will happen with those two once he is able to jump high enough.

Over all he is adapting very well. He has started using the litter boxes in the basement, so we will be moving his litter box down tomorrow. As for his toys, well he is going to have to be "real nice" if Santa is going to get him some more. The "Squirt Gun" has come in real handy. I lived on a farm growing up so I am a very good shot with a pistol. :) He has learned that Drapes are not to be climbed. The Dining room table is not for cats to get up on. The furniture are not scratching posts for his amusement. The Christmas tree goes up tomorrow, so I plan to buy some more squirt guns today. He eats like a pig. I swear for the amount of food he eats he should be 10 pounds by now, but he looks skinny still. He is still cutting his permanent teeth, so he is chewing on everything. We did find out that he does eventually run out of energy and sleeps. I had to take a picture to believe it. LOL

More to come.

Pat.

Update 12-20-2013

Are you sure that we adopted a kitten? Sebastian has taken up the habit of following everybody . I swear he acts just like a human child sometimes. This morning he followed me to the front door as I was heading out to go to work. He just sat down in front of the door to watch me leave. Last night when I came home he was sitting at the top of the stairs in front of the door waiting for me to come in.

When the girls hiss at him, he knows exactly what to do. For the Eldest, he lays on his belly with front paws extended and chin touching them. He stays that way until she either walks away or plays sniff the nose with him.

For the second eldest, he will roll over on his back in complete submission, even though she refuses to be anywhere near him. He keeps trying though.

For the younger female, he will scrunch down in the "I am ready to pounce" posture trying to lure her into play. Sometimes she will engage in the game of tag with him, but most times she just ignores him.

I must admit though, he never gives up trying to win them over. In all of my experiences, I have never before witnessed a cat with this much wisdom at such an early age. All I can say is WOW!.

It is getting harder to take pictures of him, because he can't sit still for a minute unless he is asleep, LOL so no picture updates this time. Maybe we will be able to get some of him opening Santa's presents. Shhhhh! :)

Pat

Uploading some more photo's. He is such a "Ham" when it comes to pictures. LOL

Pat.

Update 12/26/2013

Sebastian must have bribed Santa, because he sure did get a lot of stuff for Christmas. He got a tunnel that makes crinkle sounds when he runs through it and lights up as well. He got a rubber chew toy with crinkle paper inside and streamers glued to the end. That was a big hit, he carries it with him from room to room. The dancing spider is another favorite. The base is magnetic so even when he doesn't bat the spider, it still jumps around on its own.

The spider was supposed to be for the oldest but she is a bit under the weather right now. The vet thinks it is a virus.

They all enjoyed tuna for dinner and this time they all finished their own dishes. No seconds or thirds for Sebastian. I will update again after the first of the year. Maybe have some new photos by then too.

Pat.

Jan 5th 2014

The holiday's were a good one this year, even with the void left behind by the passing of Sabrina's mom. Sebastian has really been both an unusual cat, and a normal kitten as well. He certainly has made things more lively.

He has destroyed almost all of his toys, and the other cat's toys as well. He broke the magnetic spider batting toy that was for Spunky the oldest. He keeps the other cats up most of the night playing tag, or at least trying to get them to chase him so he can chase back. The poor girls are worn out. They of course want more attention from us humans to make sure we still love them, and of course we do. All three of them still hiss and growl a bit at him because he has so much energy and won't leave them alone when they don't want to play.

If I didn't already have 4 cats, I would adopt another kitten his age so that they could play together rather than him trying to engage the older cats. Oh well he will eventually settle down, so the girls will just have to wait it out. :)

So far Spunky's kidney infection seems to be getting better with the antibiotics, but as I tried to tell Sabrina, stuff like this is not uncommon when you introduce a kitten into an adult cat environment. Just like human children, kittens are a "Petri" dish for bacteria. I expected that the oldest would get some kind of infection. The other two seem to be doing fine health wise. Hopefully by the end of the month Spunky will be able to go back on her Thyroid meds again.

As I try and type this the second oldest is sitting in my lap demanding attention, LOL.

I hope everyone had a good holiday season. I will try and get Sabrina to take some pictures, she has a better camera on her phone than I do, and Sebastian is changing/growing so fast. His nose and tail are starting to change to a darker tan color rather than the beige colors when he was younger.

More updates to come, good night all, well it is actually almost 1 am so good morning.

Pat

Jan 28 already,

It seems like just yesterday that Sebastian came home. Yet, there isn't an hour that goes by with out one of us yelling "Sebastian! NO!" He is no longer afraid of the squirt guns. Like most kittens his age, he is into everything, and I mean "Everything". I might start adding a few drops of vinegar into the squirt guns. I know he won't like the taste of that, when he gets squirted for clawing the drapes or furniture.

Of course it is hard to stay mad at such an adorable kitten. His nose, ears and tail have started darkening. I have added a few pictures that Bree took for your enjoyment.

He definitely is not the same shy little kitten that we met back in September/October. He wears out all the Girls, and eats their food as well. All part of growing up.

Pat

Hi mommy and friends, I really like my new home. My servants treat me well. I have lots of toys to play with when my sisters don't want to play. I get 3 meals a day, and I help my sisters finish their food as well. I hope Santa brings me a lot of new toys this year. I have met the neighbor's male cats, and I made sure they knew they were not welcome here.

I like to climb and walk along the banister over the stairs. One time I fell and managed to grab the carpet with one paw to pull myself back up. That was scary. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season. I can't wait to see what table scraps I can sneak when my family isn't looking.

Love Sebastian a.k.a. Tristan

Zarina is growing by leaps and bounds! She and Harry have become good friends and spend lots of time together. She is in the "terrible twos" stage so we have no toilet paper on the rolls. Those sharp teeth and claws are fun too! She still has her respiratory problems - sneezing in the mornings and having some eye discharge. Guess she will have that forever but it may be worse in the cold weather. I'm so glad she's part of our lives. Thanks to you all.

Notes from Home
Wentworth has turned out to be the perfect cat for us. He likes a lot of attention, is curious about everything that we do, LOVES to play with wand toys, and talks to us constantly. He has no problem being picked up (which is very important for Claire) and he likes to cuddle when the mood hits him, which is a few times a day. We've had no behavioral or litter box issues with him. He has a perch right by our big living room windows and loves to curl up and watch the street traffic below

He seems incredibly happy - I think he's just glad to be the only cat and to have his own people to talk to. We've carefully introduced him to a dog who is good with cats, and given how aggressive he was with cats it was a little surprising to see how relaxed and comfortable he was with the dog. We're currently dog sitting the same dog, and Wentworth seems more curious than anything else. Well, maybe he's more indifferent than anything else, but the dog is a very lazy greyhound who barely moves. We'd like to own a dog in the future if possible, so his comfort around a relaxed dog was great news.

He is VERY curious about the hallway outside our apartment, but we've figured out how to keep him from dashing out (there's nowhere for him to go out there, but some of our neighbors have dogs who are out there for walks sometimes). Despite our best efforts to make it work, he was completely confounded by a harness that we bought him to walk in the hallway. Claire still hopes that some day he will do something other than immediately flop on the ground after we get the harness on him.

We'll upload some pics in a bit!

Hi,
Well, it's been 3 months and our Bernie is so awesome!!
I uploaded 5 pics to the site and I hope you can tell how much he fits in to our little family - he made himself right at home. He plays with all of his toys and throws them under the furniture so we are constantly going on missions to recover them which he loves taking part in. We are so happy to have him around and he makes us laugh every day - what a large personality in a tiny body!
More pics to come since I take about 50 a day:)
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

DESIREE
Wanna lap! Wanna lap! I WANT A LAP!

Do you have a lap for me?

10/01/14
I am feeling so much better and eating on my own. Meowmy is hopeful I can come off evaluation soon. Are looking for a sweet, gentle, loving lap kitty? Watch for me to be available and click!

09/29/14
I've really been struggling this past week. I think I'm finally starting to feel better and starting to eat on my own. Stay tuned for updates.

Found in a Good Sam"s backyard with my 3 siblings. Bottle fed and loved, but she had 6 cats of her own and couldn't keep us. So, to the shelter I went with one of my non-Siamese siblings. Five days later I found myself in a carrier on a long long trip to Foster Moms.

Desiree

Absolutely the sweetest, gentlest, softest little girl. Loves, loves, loves to be held and snuggled!

Desiree has wrapped us around her little paws! We absolutely adore her! She settled in right away and has kept her appetite and uses her litter box. She's been out of her room and explored the rest of the house a few times. She's even explored my sewing room and had her first sewing lesson - how to properly play with the tape measure! She's seen and smelled our resident dog, Tasha, who is extremely curious about the new furry in the family. Desiree is very curious, too, but doesn't like Tasha's loud barking one bit! It will take time but we're hope they will be friends by the New Year. She goes to our vet for her first visit tomorrow and we hope they can give some suggestions on how to keep Tasha from barking when she sees Desiree.

We can't thank you all enough for doing your part to bring Desiree to us!

Desiree went to the vet on Monday and they loved her! She was a very good girl and they really appreciated all the info they received. She has a yeast infection in her ears which they say is not unusual from getting rid of the ear mites. She tolerates the Micazole Lotion we put in her ears. Tasha & Desi and slowly getting calmer about each other and have had several sightings of each other without getting hyper-excited or scared. We're making progress in small baby steps!

ISIS
I'm a sweet and beautiful lynx girl - a real one - and I've lived with other cats. My housemates were Jazzie, Gizmo, and Sushi - all on the 'adopted' pages. I was last to come in as I needed to wean my kittens first. They've all gone to their homes and now it's my turn! I'm starting to meet the other kitties here, and they are fine by me. I even rubbed up against the other lynx point that lives here - he's twice my size but I'm not scared! Foster momma keeps calling me things like Sweetie and Sweetheart. She knows what a loveable little thing I am!

ISIS is such a social creature. We really weren't worried about her at all -- more worried about NEKO, who we adopted 2 years ago, adjusting to the new addition. We gave ISIS her own room and introduced them gradually. After less than 2 weeks, she was fully integrated. There was some initial posturing -- hissing and swatting -- but now they get along fine. We even saw ISIS grooming NEKO at one point. She is a hoot! So unlike timid NEKO. She carries around her Siamese beanie babies from floor to floor and is constantly playing. We still keep her in her own room at night or when we leave the house, but we don't think it will be long before they are together 24/7.

Because of recent publicity about the ISIS terrorist group, we were seriously considering changing her name. However, we have decided she kinda lives up to the name. She is always underfoot, sometimes scooting in a closet unseen. But since she is always vocal, she can't be forgotten if the door closes with her inside. She absolutely hates the deck that her brother, NEKO, loves. But she is very loving and gentle and loves to romp and play. In the evening or at nighttime, she is either on a lap or cuddled in our bed. Check out our photo - ISIS in time out.

NEKO
"Can't keep me". That's all my former family told the shelter. But I'm a sweet boy, and will probably fit in just about anywhere. I love the other cats here, and while I'm a bit scared at first, once I know it's all OK I love the people too. I'm a very nicely marked lynx, with lovely blue eyes and a short, close coat. I have a cute little peep of a voice, and I do like to talk. I use my litter box like a good boy, and I'm not fussy about food. I've been to the vet, pronounced healthy, and am all ready to go home - would that be *your* home? If you're tired of those same-old, same-old seal points, then why not spice up your home with a lynx point?

It's hard to believe we've had NEKO for a year. He had his annual physical on October 15th, including his FVRCP booster and Rabies Feline booster. He came to us weighing 8.7 pounds. He now weighs 14 pounds. Our vet said he is in perfect health, although he could stand to lose 1/2 pound, so we've cut back a little on his food & treats. We've left him for a couple of overnights and had a couple in our community visit to feed, clean his litter box and connect. Initially he was very scared of people other than Jack and me, but over the past year he has gradually become curious about others coming to visit and even lets them stroke him. Over the summer he enjoyed being on our deck, watching movement in the community. He loves to nap on our laps in the evening and comes upstairs to visit us in bed early in the morning. He is very vocal when he knows it's time to eat. Everyone who sees him says he's the most beautiful cat they've ever seen, and we agree!

November 2014 - NEKO continues to thrive. He was up to 15+ pounds but at his last checkup dropped 3, now weighing in at 12 pounds (a perfect weight for him according to our vet) thanks to his sister, Isis, rescued 2 years ago. Although he has definitely made it clear that he is the ALPHA male, he and his sister have a lot of fun romping daily. His favorite pasttime, however, is the time he spends on our second floor deck. He spends all his free time spring thru fall watching other animals and kids in the neighboorhood -- and snoozing in the warm sun. He is no longer afraid of visitors and in fact is curious about each new person coming into our home. He has been a true gift to us.
