PERIWINKLE
I'm a sweet, outgoing little girl and I just got to my foster home. I have a yucky cold I need to get over. So far I'm friendly. I like to be held. And for not feeling so hot, foster mom says I sure am busy. Ask about me so you're ready when I am!

Notes from Home
01/05/14 -Periwinkle had a great first day home. She even slept with us all night! She seems to like to take a big run and slide all over the floor on her bed!

01/19/14- 2 week anniversary! Periwinkle is still doing amazing!! Still sleeping with us every night! We had cold weather for a few days, so we left the water in the bathroom sink dripping. Appears Periwinkle thinks this is the new fun thing to play in! She sits on the sink and slaps at the water as long as it is running! Today, she spent most of the day supervising the construction of her new cat condo tower. We couldn't seem to find one that was exactly like we wanted so we built one! Not quite finished yet but we have put up some pictures of the adventure she is having with it so far....Needless to say....we are totally in love with our Periwinkle!!!

02/09/14- ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY!!! Periwinkle is learning to trust us more and more each day. She wakes us up in the morning purring and purring. At night she usually falls to sleep in the living room in her little bed at my feet. Then when I wake her and ask if she is ready to go to bed she will answer with a sweet little meow and then follows me to bed....where she then attacks my feet under the cover for few minutes before falling back to sleep.
At her vet visit a week ago she weighed 10.5 pounds!! So she has gained weight since she arrived...hopefully she won't have to go on a diet!
She still does not like to be carried around very much at all. She is learning to give you a "high five" as you walk by her on top of her cat tower. Loves playing with the water in the bathroom sink...and wants to attack the toothbrush when brushing your teeth. She also loves the taste of toothpaste! Her wild times includes playing peek a boo and jumping into the bathtub to run back and forth, or chasing her tail when she is in a box....we love her sweet side and her wild side!!!

02/23/14 - Periwinkle is so precious. She is still learning to trust us. She is letting us hold for just a few minutes at a time which is HUGE from where she started. But still sleeps with us every night. Her favorite toy these days is a bread bag tie....yep all these toys and she loves bread bag ties!! She throws them up into the air and takes off after them. We have a video of her actually doing a back flip while playing with a bag tie. I think she had watched to much snow boarding on TV during the Winter Olympics!! She now weighs 11.2 pounds! (Which is .2 pounds more than the Vet wants her to weigh) Love her to pieces....

01/04/15 Its been one year since I arrived at my forever home. Looking back I think I've had one great year! Gained a little weight....trusting Mom and Dad more and more each day...have lots of toys and have met lots of family...all in all....I'm one pretty happy gal!!

SEBASTIAN
Footloose is footless in Fort Wayne - and looking for a home!

I may be missing my back feet, but that doesn't make me handicapped, it makes me SPECIAL. I have the best spirit and get around as good as any ol kitten and don't let my disability get me down. I love to be held upside down like a baby and purr so loud and make airbiscuits to show my affection.

You've got two feet, I've got two feet, let's get together and rock & roll!

Paw waves,
Kevin Bacon

TUCKER
So no one likes me? Really? I'm an easy going adjust anywhere immediately type guy. I follow you around, wait patiently for you wherever you may be, give you little chirps of encouragement when you need it, and am purrfect in all habits. I like to lap sit, bat a toy around and play with the feather wand, but I'm equally if not more keen on snuggle time. A bigger cat, I'm all about well adjusted and friendly!!!!

Notes from Home
Recap of 2013:
April 2013, Tucker came to live with us. Everyone (feline and human) were fine with this except Anala. It had taken her a couple of weeks to get used to the idea that no matter how much she hissed and growled, Tucker was not going away. They are best buds now!

in the Spring, we had some remodeling happening and everyone ran for cover except for Tucker. he continued to lay in the window and supervise the contractors. Such a laid back kinda meezer.

By the summer, Tucker was not feeling so well and started losing some weight. Our Vet put him on kidney meds and he started and continues to do well on them. Maintaining his weight and bloodwork all within normal range.

In the fall, Tucker's wanting to share people food returned and he started grabbing things off the counter top in the kitchen. We started putting all baked goods in the refridgerator at night. By Thanksgiven, I had forgotten this and sweet potato pie was tracked all across the kitchen. Tucker decided he really did not like it.

For Yule, Tucker, Smokey and Anala donned their reindeer antlers (the equivilent of the ugly sweater for people) for their christmas photos. Anala really was not happy with this. Tucker was a good sport about it and just sat tall until the picture was over.

So now it is another new year. Don't forget to kiss your meezer!

1/22/2014
Meowmy brought home something called a croissant the other day. She really seems like them and I have been asking for one but she would not give me any. So, last night I decided that I would take it upon myself to try one. I know, I am not supposed to be on the countertops, but what was I supposed to do? I will tell you, I tried a little bit of all six in the bag and I don't see the fascinating that Meowmy has with these things. Definitely people treats.

2/28/2014
Today was vet checkup day. Tucker had bloodwork taken because he has been on the kidney medicine. He needs to continue on the Azodyl and now start getting fluids 2x a week. He is definitely showing signs of kidney disease. He has lost 1.5 pounds putting him at just under 10lbs now. He is still a big lover boy and wants any shoulder he can get.

6/11/2014
Tucker has been doing really well on his meds and getting fluids. He is such a good boy taking all his medicine. He is maintaining healthwise and continues to be the loving, curious boy that we first met. He really enjoys our new deck. He loves to lay on the rocker in the sun. He really likes to nibble on cat grass so we have some throughout the house. He has started sleeping on the pillows next to our heads. He has always slept on the bed just not on the pillow. occasionally, I wake up with him licking my face. He is so sweet! we love our tucker boy!

January 2015
Tucker continues to do really well with his bloodwork remaining consistent. He takes his iron supplement everyday with his Axodyl and gets fluids 2-3 times per week. He loves to lap sit and sleep on your pillow against your head. he follows us around the house and if we sleep in, politely asks for breakfast. We received some summer sausage for a Yule gift and my husband was watching TV with Tucker on his lap. One slice of sausage for him, One slice for Tucker, etc. Well, I guess when you have kidney disease, some liberties can be taken especially when he is really good about drinking water.

Hi,
Quinn is doing fabulous! You would never believe he was once "skittish and shy"! We adopted a female Maine Coon (Aurora) this September, and they are best buds. We still have the other two domestic short-hairs (Comet and Blitzen) who were adopted in February of 2013, so we have a complete kitty family! All of them get along great, and Quinn and Aurora lead the playful pack communicating with Quinn's famous cheerful guttural "roar". We kept the name Quinn, and his nick name is "Ocetayna" from the Song the Lion King- because we hold him up like they did baby Simba and sing the Lion King song and he looks at us like we are ridiculous. His gorgeous baby blues blinking up at us. His flame points have come in as he has matured, and he is gorgeous specimen. He has a beautiful coat and muscular stature. I'm uploading some of my favorite pictures so you can see him now and see his interactions with the other crazy cats. We are so happy Quinn is a part of our lives! Don't know what we ever did without him! Thanks to everyone at Siamese Rescue for helping us bring him into our world! Happy New Year! The Huber family.

LYRA
Just arrived. I'm a tiny girl with big ears and sweet, sweet, sweet! I've had my bath and am so happy to be inside where I'm safe and loved. I won't be able to go home till November, but ask about me now because foster meom says I won't be unclaimed for long! Because of my size, no long transports, please.

Purrs,

Notes from Home
Lyra came as such a frightened little kitten. She hid everywhere. It has been 9 years and she is still very much the frightened kitty - especially when the house is very noisy. But, she never misses a meal!!! No matter how noisy the house, she is right there at feeding time. She is definitely a man's cat and loves Bob. She is absolutely gorgeous and does let me pet her when she is on the bed.

She has also had some medical problems - crystals in her urine, allergies (the vet thinks) that mean special diet food. So far so good - the vomiting seems to have cleared up.

She gets in Bob's lap with all four feet but hasn't settled down yet. She has come a very long way from the scared kitten we adopted 9 years ago.

She is a sweetheart and just so beautiful.

FRODO (AKA KANGAROO JACK)
Okay, so my front paws don't work exactly right. And my brother has a twisted spine. Aunt Siri promises us that it's all about what's on the inside, and that the adopters of the Siamese Rescue kitties are one in a million. So what's on the inside? Two of the most loving, most affectionate, lap sitting, kissing and purring, snuggling and hugging kitties you ever want to meet. Took us about 48 hours and then we couldn't get enough - had to both climb into Aunt Siri's lap together - Bilbo took charge of washing her face and arms (they were very dirty) and hugging her around the neck, I took charge of making sure both her hands were constantly petting and rubbing me - every time she stopped I headbutted and nuzzled and snuggled my way into her palms. We are what Rescue is all about - for we are the type of cats who would have been at the end of a needle in the blink of an eye, if it weren't for rescue angels and special adopters like you. We love other cats, if they love us. And we love the people who see past our physical troubles and open their hearts - and we promise, we give you our solemn word, that you won't, for one itty bitty minute, regret that you ever shared your life with us.

Notes from Home
Well, Frodo has been with us for 9 years now. He has taken over the house along with his brother Bilbo and his sister Lyra and their step-sister Belle when Tim comes off the road. Frodo is still a little bit scary but no long hightails it to another room when strangers come in. He just hunkers down in the chair and waits to see what they will do. Petting is the best think possible. He does have a preference for me over Bob. He is very quiet until I come home and then he is very vocal about his day. When he wants attention - there is no putting him down! He may have little front feet but it seems that he has eight feet sometimes.

He has not been without some medical issues though - that we knew about when we adopted him. He has a heart murmur but not as bad as his brother's but he too has been cleared by the cardiac doctor for all medical treatments to be done by his regular vet. He still has the gorgeous crystal like blue eyes that succored Bob in at the center.

We are so glad that we adopted him and his brother and Lyra.

BILBO (AKA LIL BILL)
Loving? They don't get any more loving. Cute? Can't beat it. Purrsonality? They don't make them with more. Unfortunately, they did make me funny. My spine is twisted and my front feet curled up. But that doesn't stop me. My Mom told me true beauty comes from inside the heart, and mine is full to overflowing. It only takes one time to meet me, to have me lick your face and hop into your lap, to have me stare into your eyes with my big baby blues and you'll be a believer. Sure, I may have some damage - my spine is wrong, my heart murmurs away, but it murmurs with love and appreciation at being rescued. Come visit me and my brother at the Center, we won't disappoint you.

Well, Bilbo has been with us for 9 years now. He has taken over the house along with his brother Frodo and his sister Lyra and their step-sister Belle when Tim comes off the road. Bilbo is by far the friendliest of the bunch. Everyone who comes to visit comes just to pet him or feed him or provide a lap for his nap. What fun we have had with them.

He has not been without some medical issues though - that we knew about when we adopted him. He has had a couple of echo cardiograms and the cardiac specialist has totally released him for all future medical work by his regular vet.

We are so glad that we adopted him and his brother and Lyra.

MICKEY
I am much happier now that I can explore wherever I want in the house. The other cats here are treating me well, and one even lets me curl up nearby. I think she's cute, and hope she'll let me snuggle up soon! I also like to curl up and sleep with the people here.

If I hear strange noises I run and hide, but I'm going to be looking to see what I heard. Come see me, and I'll tell you all about it!

Notes from Home
12/29/14 It's been quite a month of adjustments. Willie continues to pretend to be the alpha cat and to dominate Chico, and Chico is adorable when he boxes Willie in the head: bop, bop! Sela continues to growl at both of the boys and hides most of the time on a dining room chair. Willie's favorite long nap time is in the evening when I'm watching TV. He lays on the couch, and for the last three nights, he ends up on his back with his paws in the air. So cute! How could such an angelic being be so rough on his brother? Answer: he's a cat! Willie's the only cat I've had that enjoys belly rubs.
