SAKI
I am another one of those beautiful Southern Belles. I take just a few minutes to warm up to you but then I am all purrs and headbutts. I will arch my back and stretch as soon as you say my name and will just lean into your hand for those wonderful neck scratches. As the wonderful person who saved me from the streets will tell you I love to sleep snuggled up in your bed and I got along great with other cats. So I dont plan on waiting too long for that furever home so dont yall be waiting to long to ask about lilolme!

(I seemed to have lost my update, hope this is not a repeat)
Today Jan 16, 2014 is Saki's (VA3127) 10th "Gotcha" Anniversary. Saki is doing well except for her constant struggle with weight gain. Even though concentrated efforts have been used, she currently tips the scales at 20 lbs. She get along with her rescued meezer brothers (she recently lost her blind brother, Cola, to old age). She absolutely loves to get brushed and will come running (waddling) whenever she hears the sound of the brush moving. She loves to be on my lap and snuggle next to me at night. She still will not tolerate being picked up though; probably a result of her early feral upbringing. I have uploaded a current picture.

PEBBLES
BEAUTIFUL TORTI WITHOUT THE TORTITUDE!!!
Have other cats? A dog? Young people running amok? That's ok with me! The more, the merrier!
I have perfect litter habits. I scratch what I'm supposed to. I'm young! I'm playful! I lap sit! I like to sleep in bed with you! There is just one catch - I have some food intolerances and I can only eat canned grain free chicken and limited grain free dry. I did have other health scares, but we've got them under control. Foster momma can tell you all about them if you are interested. I am a sweet and loving cat, who deserves a home! I also make sure that plates are licked clean and NO canned food will ever, ever go to waste.

TOBY
Sometimes things just hapen - like my Mom lost her job and couldn't keep me any more. So I am at this new place but I am lucky because my Mom loved me so much that she sent all my toys and even my special litterbox. She kissed me goodbye and said that she would miss me terribly but she knew that I would find someone who would love me as much as she does. And I know that I will because I just love people and other kitties too. Ask about me - you wiill be happy that you did.

Notes from Home
It's hard to believe it's been a year since Toby's arrival. He continues to be a joy to have around and seems to be very content. He remains best friends with Aries and a good
big brother to Danica.
His beautiful face and blue, blue eyes still make me smile everyday! He still purrs like a motor boat so I guess he's happy as well. Sometimes I can hear him in another room purring away. We are working on a weight reduction diet, but it is a challenge! He is still rather rotund. He hasn't gained any weight but also hasn't lost much. He looks like a little Buddha when he sits :)). Just more to love I guess.
Headbutts and purrs from Toby
January 12, 2014
Wow! Has it really been three years? It seems like my Sweet Babu, Toby has been with me forever. He continues to do well, (with the exception of horrible teeth, :((( ), and is still my sweet, head butting, purring teddy bear.
He tolerated the move to Williamsburg, with weeks of remodeling and being shifted from room to room, along with his three feline sibs. They are now loving the larger space to run and play and chase each other. The "thundering paws from above" I consistently hear make me smile, as I know they are happy and enjoying our new home. Toby is my "Class A" window watcher and my new neighbors have all commented on the handsome flame kitty in the window observing them and the birds and squirrels.
Toby continues to be my sweet head butting, (actually pretty hard bonks! lol), purring teddy bear. He stills wraps himself around my head at night and purrs me to sleep. His sweet comical face and blue, blue eyes continue to amaze and thrill me.
Purrs, head bonks and thanks once again,
Toby and Nancy
01/12/15
Four years have flown by and Toby continues to be my sweet blue eyed loverboy.
Love my sweet Babu and the sweet lullabies he still purrs for me.

OLIVER
A CHANGE IN PLANS!
I am a Mama's boy at heart. Love my person and very friendly and connected, very involved and interactive. However I don't like change, and while on rare occasion I have been known to play with another cat, I get way overstimulated very easily. So here are my new parameters: A household where I'm the only one in a fur coat. However, laid back and sedate is not really what I'm looking for either, because I love to play, climb, and be in the middle of everything. Couple that with a dislike of change (I know, does it get any more challenging?) and you have my perfect household!

Oliver is a love bug! Within hours of exploring his new home he was giving plenty of nuzzles and cuddles! His time at the Center certainly prepared him well for transition into a safe and loving home where he is the only little boy in a cat suit. His litter box tendencies and eating habits are fantastic and as always, he is very forward and direct. Thank you to everyone involved in his rescue, Oliver is a very, very lucky little boy!

Notes from Home
6 months went fast. Marli is still skittish but she has come a long way. With just me she is outgoing. If I'm home and it's quiet she will jump in my lap and purr away. She wants so much to be with everyone but is still scared of the dogs (Everest cries bc he wants to see her). She will sneak out of the laundry room where her box, food and bed are, and the dogs don't know it. She has run of the house all day as the dogs are in the basement during the day. She's ok with the baby, who's now a year old and walking but my 3 yo startles her. He's fast and loud. Her and Mosi are best buds. I know it sounds sad, that she keeps herself in the laundry room when she really is a lap cat but she has come a long way in 6 months. The laundry is off the kitchen, a busy area and has a kitty door. Just this morning she was sitting in the kitchen when I took the dogs out. They looked at her and walked by, and she didn't run. That's huge. I make sure I carve out time just for her each day. Our only complaint is that she tracks litter 24 feet away from the box. It has a lid and flap. I even have a 3 foot "tunnel" that they have to walk thru to get in it but she still tracks it all over the laundry and kitchen. I'm thinking of trying a different litter, just not sure what.

OLLIE
I am beatiful, adoring, and sometimes overly confident in my self. I need lots of interaction, lots of play time, and a strong female to play with I think as I tend to be a bit on the pushy side :) Loving, but pushy!

Notes from Home
Hi Everyone and Happy New Year! Thank you to all who helped in my adoption of Ollie (formerly Ali Baba) and his new sister Deutzia! Ollie is a sensitive guy with a ton of energy. Athletic and smart - except for the chewing and eating of anything plastic especially if it crinkles! He recovered fine from his stomach troubles due to eating the sheet of plastic. He has also started growing back his infected and cleanly broken at the bottom back medial toe which he most probably caught on the door jamb as he raced down the halls back and forth at high speed making his low "siamese jazzed up growl" for effect. Pictures have been knocked off the walls, garbage cans have been emptied, curtain pulls mangled, oak leaves from the garage chewed up for the crunch sound, dinner rolls stolen to use as soccer balls, and every high place in the house has been thoroughly breached if possible and every night as I climb into bed there's a rowdy cat fight under the bed! Life is good! Really I laugh and smile all the time at the antics of Ollie. We are working on his nipping problem when his person stretches in bed, but for a smart guy he is pretty dense in that area. He is now going to get a hefty nose thump every time. It sound like I am complaining about Ollie Boy but he is a joy, He loves the laser toy fast fast fast, and popping out of his big rattly paper castle that I made for him when his sister or his people walk by! He waits on the dryer to greet me as I return home! My Ollie Boy is a keeper!

DEUTZIA
Don't worry, be happy! That is my motto. Every day is a brand new day, full of furry mice, fun things to play with, people and other cats to adore. I bring you presents each day - drop them at your feet. I bring my cat buddies presents, and drop them at their feet. I am all about giving and enjoying life, so if you need a pick me up, I promise nothing but to bring smiles to your face!

Notes from Home
Hi Everyone and Happy New Year! Thank you for all your help in my adoption of Deutzia and Ollie! It's hard to believe that Deutzia was caught in a DNR trap as a feral ktten. She is such a delight personable with people and cats and not too scared of the big black Lab that visits for holidays. I love having a cat that comes to greet me whenever I enter the house and who sits in the window watching for her people to return. She still carries her fleece bows in her mouth around the house and plays with them. In the morning she loves to go fetch her favorite bow first thing and then run down the hallway with it and back onto the bed for some play time and purr time at the end of the bed. She doesn't really snuggle but during that time she likes to be talked to and get some tummy scratches as she purrs. Ollie her brother is so jealous of her cuteness and hates this time of the morning. He frequently loses his cool and jumps on top of her to wrestle. She puts up with his bullying most of the time and lets him have it when she's had enough. Her favorite all time activity is bird watching in the sun porch or any of the other three windows when that's closed up. She is all focus and is smart enough to know that if she crouches down below the window and behind the pillar the birds aren't scared and she can watch them endlessly. She rolls her eyes when her brother has to join in because he sits right in the window and scares the birds away. Duh! After dark she plays with her ball track and watches TV! The only thing that is difficult about her is that she can't leave any food in the bowl so it will be hard to maintain her weight since Ollie would prefer to leave his food and nibble - so she eats his too!!!! He is kind of a brat so he kind of deserves that payback. I love love love my Deutzie Duetzie Doo!

SADIE
Hi, Sadie here. I have a big secret....I'm a kitten in disguise! That's right--I love to play with all sorts of toys, especially little furry mice. I love people and enjoy petting and being brushed. I'm gentle but need to run the show with other felines. So if you're not intimidated by a lady who knows what she wants and knows how to get it, then just ask about me! Purrs, Sadie and foster Melanie Congrats Federeick & Carolyn in MA!

Notes from Home
You would never believe Sadie was 15 she acts like a kitten. Chasing strings, stealing items from the dresser to become toys to be batted under the bed. She also like to play acroKitty and walk the top of the medal bed frame. She could beat any high wire walker. Sadie still love plastic bags and find ways to get at them even when carefully put away. I will see if I can get a recent picture to upload and show off her skills

Notes from Home
Hi Siamese Rescue! It has been a month, and I am so happy that you all helped me to find Fiona. She is such a great cat. She is sweet, playful and a lovely lap cat. She is doing great, and I think she is pretty darn happy. She has met a bunch of people in the past month, from kids to seniors and she is sweet and playful with all of them. She was a bit scared during her trip to the vet, which resulted in a small accident in her crate, and her first bath at my house. Our next travel trip worked better, with some feliway sprayed in her crate, and an absorbent potty pad- no accidents! She is eating Blue Freedom Chicken- grain free wet food and she eats like it is her job! She loves to play with the feather bouncer and drags that thing all over the place.I bought a furminator brush and it is great with her slightly longer coat. I'm attaching some pictures so you can see how she is doing.
