UPDATE - 7/23/10 Pippin is: Cute, busy, CUTE, inquisitive, CUTE, active, CUTE, happy, CUTE, flame, CUTE, cross-eyed, CUTE, loving, CUTE and above all - you got it - TOO DARN CUTE FOR WORDS - better ask about him soon!!

Pippin here - foster mom says that I am cuter than any kitten has a right to be. She named me after Pippin, the youngest of the hobbits in the Lord of the Rings. (I think she's gone a bit overboard on all these literary foster names.) . I am one of the cutest little redheads that you've ever seen. When it comes to flames, they are usually easy going and laid back, but NOT ME. I am a "go getter" even though I am still a little small for my age. When I don't get my way - I'll tell you about it in NO uncertain terms. BUT, as you can see in my gallery pictures, I was such a good boy when Aunt Ellen was hold me and trimming my claws. I sat still and even kissed her after we were done. Oh, yes, my little face reminds everyone of an elf. And, yes, I have crossed eyes, but that doesn't stop me for a second. IF you'd like a very active and very cute and very sweet little kitten, be sure to ask about me. Here's to ya.......... Pippin,

Notes from Home
August 14, 2013
Getting less "tough skittish" and becoming somewhat of a cuddler. Still only wants his back petted and only when he wants it! Gets anxious most Monday mornings when I get out of the shower because he knows I'm leaving - sits on the toilet lid while I get ready and mews, jumps down, goes between my legs and repeats this process ad infinitum to remind me that I'd better come home. Still my guardboy and always within my sight range. His canned treat in the morning is a must! Plays well with Hattie and Bruce Wayne - but mostly keeps to himself and his jingle-y ball, as well as his racerball. Too busy making sure the world continues to spin on its access to do something as frivolous as chase either of Bruce Wayne or Hattie!

August 15, 2012
My Jolly-Man is still a bit aloof - but he is beginning to want to be touched! He is still my ever-present guardian - always near, always lurking, never more than arms-length from my side. He has been sleeping behind my knees and purring at my neck on my pillow on occasion. His favorite enthusiasm lately has been the glass shower door. I try to discourage this obsession - and most definitely the licking when there is hot water dripping on it - but he is fascinated......to the point of trying to get in while the water is running. I'm not sure if it's because he feels "cut off" from me even though he can see me through the door - or.....what? He LOVES his canned treat and he begs EVERY morning when we wake up - to the point of crying and kneading at my hip if I don't get out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off. Pavlov's dogs had nothing on this BIG FELLOW, and I do mean BIG. He is fine-boned-but sleek and large - very panther like - mostly white - with faint/pale traces of ginger. His eyes are not as crossed as they were as a kitten - but when he is tired, they drift off center more so than usual and he is truly cross-eyed to the fullest. Loves the tall cat tree and rules the roost from the uppermost carpeted bin - no one gets to this king of the hill!

July 13, 2011
My three musketeers are perfect ~ I thank the universe (and Siamese Rescue) every day for them. Jolly is my guard ~ not overly cuddly but always within arm's reach ~ follows me around, watches what is going on, nosing into everything, and making sure all is well. His job is to kill all insect intruders - especially any bugs that may get past the sliding glass doors. Hattie is my lovebug ~ cuddling and headbutting and dragging her pink "baby" toy around - up and down the stairs. The turboballracer is still her favorite. She sits in front of the sliding glass door screen on a chair (her throne) and dozes on and off watching the birds and chipmunks and thinking lovely thoughts. Bruce aka THE BRUISER is the one who keeps things interesting. Mischief usually starts and ends with him. His favorite spot is the kitchen window facing the backyard ~ he lays upside down with four paws in the air (looks dead some days) basking in the sun with a lazy eye blinking as birds flow by his head. Then he gets down and finds his brother and sister and disrupts their lives with a game of chase or ball or wrestling with a swift swat and run or a nip and roll ~ any way that he can to get things going!

Canned treat is given once a day ~ early in the morning ~ one can in two bowls to split amongst them. They usually nibble on and off until noonish and once it's gone ~ they don't beg until the next morning. Jolly is my only beggar for people food ~ and even then it's mostly what I call "Court Taster" ~ he's not interested in eating it, he just wants to know what I have, smell it, nibble at it and leave the nasty stuff alone. Not even a bit of sliced turkey! He turned around and went back to his dry food!

Bruce has started to get a new nickname THE RUNNER ~ yes, he wants to be OUTSIDE! NOW! I MEAN NOW! I'LL GET OUT THERE! NOW! So we have to be very, very careful. He hears any door open, shut, slide, or otherwise squeak and he's there lying in wait for the best moment to DASH, RUN, MAKE A BREAK FOR IT. This has only started since summer, and I'm hoping that winter will once again deter this behavior and give us at least a bit of a break for 6-7 months ~ the vigilance and worry are constant. But he's worth it!

Hattie actually shrinks away from outside. She has no desire to be part of whatever is out there. She is still "petite" and thoughtful. Her biggest claim to fame is loving to use the "clean" litterbox. I clean all three litterboxes every morning while my tea boils and she is the first one to jump in as soon as they are clean ~ EVERY MORNING. She closes her eyes and I swear she is smiling while she does her business.

Bruce is still an "enthusiastic" litterbox user ~ even to the point of covering the others' business before they are done. Yes, poor Jolly, doing business and Bruce is behind him covering it. Heh!

Jolly, my creamsicle shadow, is BIG. He is getting bigger than Bruce and I can't believe it. He is muscular and very "tiger" like ~ his shoulders and hips are broad and he is strong. His arms "roll" when he walks and he swaggers a bit like any good soldier who is tasked with defending the homefront. People remark on his good looks and I still get the "Didja know that cat's eyes are crossed?" Hmmmmm, I think so.....................

Everyone's healthy and happy ~ including me! Once again, I thank you from the bottom of my cat lady heart!!

Hey folks ~ Pippin has been given his forever name ~ Jalalabad ~ "Jolly" ~ to those who love him best! All is going great ~ he is the chowhound though! Begging for people food ~ even if he sniffs it and decides that it isn't to his palate. Sleeping with me ~ but has already comandeered my furry purple afghan (aka Grover) and that is his nest at night. He touches noses to greet me in the morning and when I come home from work and purrs whenever I pick him up! Loves his toys and his sister, Hattie. Going to vet on Tuesday (31st). He is growing ~ getting to be a big boy but still just a crazy and wild kitten who races and chases all over the place! Love and peace to all who brought him into my life.......

PEACHES
Looking for a lap cat? Look no farther! I have lots of love to give. I really love people, but I also get along with other cats. I share my foster home with a very nice dog and three other cats. I'm not too cuddly with them, but I would be with you!

I have fastidious litter box habits, and am well mannered overall. I'm playful with people and with my toys.

I'm a little cross eyed and my tail is only 2/3 the normal length-almost a bobtail, but longer. I love to sit on lap and get attention, without being demanding. If you are sitting at your computer, I like to sit with you or rest my chin on your wrist bar or hands. I'm a dainty little 8 pound fluff ball who is looking for my forever home. I know that once you see me, you will never let go.

Someone is going to get a wonderful little girl!

Notes from Home
Peaches has seamlessly fit into our family. She is happy and plays with a ball, a catnip-scented carrot, and a catnip-scented mouse. She only eats dry Purina for Sensitive Stomachs (because our other cat has been eating this for five years). She has no interest in canned food or cat treats, both things liked by our other cat. The other cat, Alfonso, is slightly intimidated by Peaches and keeps his distance. She couldn't care less! Also, the dog still likes to follow Peaches around, but gets a friendly bop from her if the dog gets too close. She is a sometime lap cat with Sharon, but she likes to visit me briefly for "pets" when I am sitting on the couch. I hope to be taking some pictures soon and I will upload them at that time.

Cleo is doing very well. Full of life, adventure, and moxie. She is the least talkative of all my siamese however I think that is because she likes to sneak up on others. Her favorite toys seem to be the ones NOT intended for her easter eggs, legos, ice cubes, and the latest the kitchen sponge (love to carry it around the house and drop it on my face while I'm sleeping).

She has choosen to except Smokey as a friend however it was all on her terms. Such a diva! She is a champion bug hunter and we are thinking of signing her up for the agility sports activities in the next kitty olympics. Love our angel very much. She is both fun and a sweet heart. Her fever mask has begun to fade. And unfortunately she has taught our other cat to beg! We are still working on staying off the counters.

Anyways our girl is doing great.

PUTZI
My mommy died a couple years ago and my daddy is just too frail to take care of me. It isn't that I wasn't loved anymore. I come with lifelong vet history and tons of purrs and gratitude. While I have lived a quiet life, I have already proven I can step things up a bit, however, I am not ready for a hectic household. I could help you start the new year in a grand way.

Notes from Home
Putzi is a very good kitty and I'm very happy with her. She enjoys sleeping, particularly in the sun and also in the bed. I have made up the bed in the morning with her in it and she's still there when I get home from work. I have no behavioral problems with her. She does continue to be a bit aggressive with my resident cat but they'll work that out in time. When I'm not home, they take turns of having the run of the house

1 yer update: I couldn't ask for a better kitty than Putzi. She and the resident cat still don't like each other but they're co-existing somewhat peacefully. No changes from the prior update. She sees the vet on a regular basis and has no health issues.

1 1/2 year update: After a brief illness, Putzi was euthanized today. I had the weekend to tell her how wonderful she was, how much I enjoyed sharing her life, and how much I would miss her sleeping under the covers with me.

Notes from Home
We are so sorry to tell you that Astra, whom we renamed Torii, died last month of a saddle thrombosis. There was no indication from our vet that there was a cardiac problem, but we remember that Torii's sister (Celesta?) had a heart condition and could not be transported beyond a short radius. Torii, a tortie, was a loving and gregarious cat, chirping at us through the day. She was companionable and easy to train and got along well with our 11-year-old male ocicat. We are still shocked and saddened that she was taken from us so suddenly.

Hi there! I'm Amber. I've ben fighting a kitty cold but that doesen't stop me form jumping and playing. I love to play with my mousie toy, but love the soft bed the best. Be sure you're ready for a really active girl before committing on me because I love to run, jump and climb!

Notes from Home
8/11/2013 - We have been so busy enjoying Zella as a part of our family, we just haven't made the time to post until now. She has grown up into a beautiful Lynx girl who is playful, friendly and a snugglebun. She and our other cat get along beautifully and keep each other fit with hide and seek games. Zella also very much likes to fetch little white paper balls - she will run after them and bring them back to drop at our feet to throw again. She is cross eyed and a bit bow legged, which only add to her charm... and frequently get her out of trouble. We can't believe that almost 3 years have passed since she came to our home. We are grateful to Jeanne especially for fostering her in her early days and helping her to become the healthy and social cat that she is now.

PHOENIX
Just a good ol' boy, once I get used to the place I'm the most happy go lucky, easy going typical flame there is. New bumps in the night may send me scurrying for just a minute, but I know my name and come out quickly, ready for some love, some catnip, some pats on the cheek and some mild chirps. In beautiful condition and very well behaved, I'd love to find a home that needs a flame!

This cat will not tolerate being with a male cat. Usually this is a male cat.Not with Male Cats

Notes from Home
We are all enjoying Phoenix's companionship so much. He's an absolute treasure.

We started out by keeping him in his own room for two weeks. Even though he was a happy cat, I could see that he relaxed more and more each day. The next step was for him to be out during the day, and then to sleep in his room each night so that Madeline, our 6 year old tortoiseshell, could sleep and relax (and be in a good frame of mind for the next day). It was a tough adjustment for her. It seemed for a while that she would have been labelled "must be only cat". She worked very hard at being in charge, but Phoenix's laid back personality won her over. When she chased him, he simply turned it into a game. Right now they are napping "deeply" in the same room.

There were a couple of challenges: Phoenix is a grazer and Madeline will gobble up anything left around, so his food has to be picked up. But he's okay with that. If we're in the kitchen, he lets me know he wants his food down and has a quick nibble. Also, it took a few days to figure out the right litter box arrangement that we are both happy with: 2 large bins in the basement and 1 covered box on the 2nd floor. It felt like a big deal in the beginning, but there's a nice rhythm to everything now.

The vet and the staff loved meeting him, and they enjoyed the detailed notes in his file.
Thank you to everyone! It's a joy to have him in our lives.

BAILEY
Greeting from Hotel del Shue - nope I'm not a snowshoe, but I'm a VERY fine Meezer - a handsome seal point boy who just arrived here with my brother, Bentley. We are a bonded pair and truly need each other, so we'll have to go home together. Our previous owners had us both since we were kittens, but they were no longer able to take care of us. They left us at the shelter with a wonderful note asking them to help find us a way to get into a new loving home. And, the shelter staff did a great job of getting us into rescue. Now, we are all settled in and safe. It didn't take us long at all to adjust to a new setting. I am the bigger of the two and am a little darker than my brother. We are both front declawed, very sweet, loving and just marvelous Meezers. So, if you'd like two marvelous meezers, remember Bailey and Bentley. Purrs and headbutts.

Notes from Home
Bailey is our baby - this cat loves his food and loves his naps. He has darkened up considerably since adoptioin to the point that he looks more of a chocolate than a seal point.. Fur is so soft and that is always the topic at the vets, they just can't get over how soft he is. We had a rough spell last christmas (2011) almost lost him - but he had a clean bill of health a week later and has been healthy ever since. He loves to cuddle up on the couch during a movie and at night he isn't afraid to crawl under the covers and sleep right nextyou all night long. we are happy to have adopted both him and his brother bentley to their furrever home!

BENTLEY
Hellow there - it's the "other" marvelous Meezer - Bentley. Yes, Bailey and I are brothers from the same litter. We grew up together and have always lived together and been indoor cats. We lived a good life until our family could no longer care for us. They really didin't want to give us up, butg found that they had to. They very much wanteed us to find a happy new Meezer loving home, so the shelter director got us into rescue. She was very nice to us and helped us out until Siamese Rescue had a spot for us. We are laid back, easy going boys who settled right into our new room. I am the smaller, lighter and most loving of the two of us. I'll do flips and roll head over heals to get some loving from you. I LOVE my lovings and don't want to stop. Yes, Bailey and I are lover boys and really need to go home together. We wahs each other and are always together. SO, if you'd like double seal Meezer love, just ask about us. Love, headbutts and big purrs, Bentley

Bently has taken on the role of king in our house, he is always right in the middle of all the action, loves sitting your lap and loves his lovings still to this day, nothing has changed in that department. He has gotten a little lighter in color and a little slimmer in body but the vet always gives him a clean bill of health though he hates having his teeth cleaned - go figure. We are so happy to have adopted him and our 1 year old son absolutely loves him!

BELL
Diva in training.. full of sass and spunk...
Notes from Home
Idalia (Bell) has gotten home. Morgan did a meet and greet. No hissing from either cat, Bell wants to explore already, Morgan want to play. I think they will do fine together.

7/7/13 Bell is settling in quite well. She is eating, using her box, and putting Captain Morgan in his place. She will be a Diva that will be able to stand up for herself, against her brother. Tonight she was eating canned cat food out of Morgan's bowl, and Morgan was trying to give her a bath, she was growling at him. I thought it was the other way around. Earlier Morgan used her cat box, that I had set up in the crate in Abbey's room. I still isolate Bell when no one is home, until I am sure that Morgan and her are getting along.

So far they are doing great. Bell teases Morgan, and Morgan chases Bell. Comics to no end.

8/5 Captain Morgan has become the good big brother. Bell has become the typical little sister, never leaving him alone and never very far away. They are getting along superb.
