CYBELE
I must go home with my son, Sinbad. We've lived together all our lives and depend on each other. I wasn't the happiest traveler so I'd like to not have to travel too far for my forever home. My foster mom says my fur feels like chinchilla, so soft and sweet, just like my voice. Do you have room for two sweets in your life?

I can tell time and will let you know when it's meal time. I will tap your cheek when I want some more pets. I will lead you to the place where you can stay a while and love on me. I will always use my litterbox.

I am very, very cuddly when I want and just love to sit right next to you and get unlimited pets. Want to be purred to sleep at night? Ask about me and Sinbad.

Cybele just had her annual exam and bloodwork and is doing fabulous! Everything is right where it should be. She gently uses her paw to pat our face if we stop petting her. Always the nurturer, she remains friends with all the furry ones here.

I love my family, both humans, doggies, and kitties. Just had my annual checkup and came through with flying colors. Everything is purr-fect! Most days I spend my time sleeping on humans' bed in the sunshine. Ah, life is good.!

Cybele has celebrated another birthday with grace and sweetness. She loves to snuggle up with Sinbad and Rider in a cat-pile on our bed or a millie bed. She just had her annual exam and bloodwork and passed with flying colors.

Cybele is another year older, still very healthy and loving. She is usually sleeping in the midst of Sinbad and Rider, her two best buddies. She gently reminds us with a tap on our cheek that she wants attention if we "forget" to keep petting her.

TOSCA
I'm a petite sky Meezer type cat that loves to climb, play, inspect, supervise and be typical female Miss bossy pants. Great health and good habits round out my picture. I'm probably best as the only cat though I wouldn't rule out a playful male kitten who would let me be the Queen Bee!

Notes from Home
Tosca has been with us for 2 weeks and we are in LOVE and SO is she. She settled into her new home AMAZINGLY well and quickly. She is such an equal opportunity petting girl, as she will only let you do it for so long and then she is on to the next person. She is great with her litter box, her scratching pads, eating and drinking. We have had no problems with her. She loves to have her belly rubbed. After just 24 hours she was loving on us for petting. She likes to sit in our 2nd story window to watch the birds, squirrels and dogs. Oh goodness does she have a lot to say!!! Super chatting, for such a little girl.

We are so happy with the adoption process and with our new addition. Thank you very much to all the volunteers for all they do!!

1/23/2012 Its official!!! Tosca has been part of our family for 1 year now, well just shy of s year if you deduct the 4 1/2 days (12/31-1/4/2012) she decided to go outside :-(. Thankfully the smarty pants walked back into our house via the sliding glass door I left open for her (not to get out, but to come home). She knocked 10 years off my life. SCRC was super helpful and supportive during those awful days, again we Thank You!. Such an amazing organization! I have become very good pen pals with our interviewer Sandi, we love you Aunt Sandi. We (my husband Scott and I) could not be happier with Tosca. She is a super sweet, VERY vocal, always where you are, little girl. I remember Siri telling me that she would be more than enough cat for 2 people, oh and she was so right. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! to everyone involved in SCRC.

09/19/2013 I just love re-reading Siri's notes on Tosca. She was so spot on with Tosca's personality.
Tosca has such a sweet and laid back personality. She wants to be where ever you are and in the middle of it. One of her favorite places to sit is with my husband at the dinner table. She just wants to be at our level, as she has no interested in the food, now maybe the napkin (play), but not the food. We can't imagine our life without her. Thank you SCRC for all you do!!

1/22/14 Three years today we picked up our little munchkin from the center. She is great! We just love her. Thank you to everyone at SCRC for all their help. I emailed them a couple of times this year regarding issues/suggestions for Tosca, they were always great at getting back to me and their information was invaluable. THANK YOU! To many more years with our teeny, weeny spoiled cat Tosca.

1/22/15 Four years, WOW. Tosca is doing great. She did have a few issues this year, that seem to be completely on the mend. :-) We are quite pleased. She still loves the banana Siri sent home with her, as her favorite toy, in addition to the 3 bananas we have since bought her. I tell people all the time, she is more dog than cat. She follows us everywhere, loves to cuddle, chatty, just an over all love bug. THANK YOU SCRC for all you do.

TESSA
I am a sweet loving lady looking for a new home after being separated from my family. I lived with another cat but was not her buddy and I seem to be more confident without other cats. I have lived with dogs in the past and will be fine if they don't bother me. I love to be petted and brushed and will ask for tummy rubs altho I am a little uncomfortable with being picked up and carried around. Moderately chatty.

Tessa immediately took to her new home as if she had lived here forever. She checked out her surroundings and then insisted we pet her. Snice she has came home she has met the dogs and even share the bed with them! She acts very funny and playful. Always demanding to be loved. She is really wonderful, I would say 1 in a million.

Notes from Home
Still cleaning up after the flood. I think Miko thinks I made good on my threat to "make a new cat with all the fur she leaves behind." She is very calm, but Rumi himself is very calm and curious. He found the old cat bed and was curled up in it when I woke up. He has also started return the mousies I throw. See, you can teach people new tricks!

10/31
Both kitties tired of waiting, Rumi escaped my bedroom and they ended up meeting in the living room. Rumi seems more aggressive, but only hissing and no swatting or growling. Miko backed off and needed cuddles. Later, put Rumi back in his room and he had cuddles, too.

11/3
Kitties have met. They are not best buds (but what do you expect after only a week?) We are able to keep the door to my (Rumi's) room open for most of the day and, occasionally, he will come out of it... usually when Miko is asleep in the front room. He has tried all the litter boxes, including the one in Miko's room.

They have had their first real confrontation today, when Miko chased Rumi back to his room, and he went under the bed. There was some hissing and growling (mostly on his part), She was fairly fluffed (he was not so much.) I separated them to give them a time out (though I probably shouldn't have.)

Rumi has a vet appointment scheduled for Friday. The vet said they had not got his paperwork, but I figure the office manager was probably just looking in the wrong place. Will bring the copies I was given just in case.

Rumi is still very cuddly with me, a little less so with Peggy. It's hard to believe he's only been here a week!

11/7
Rumi met the vet today (in addition to a very large Doberman who, thankfully did not want to do any investigation of that box across the room.) The vet's office had not gotten Rumi's vet history from SRC, but since I had a copy, I had them copy mine. He was a bit shivery (which the vet thought was from the cold, but I felt was nervousness.)

Rumi may have a slight arrhythmia in his heartbeat, but the vet said it was very faint and might not be there at all. He'll check again next year. He was much admired, and the vet does not consider him overweight at all. I think he may still slim down a bit when he's more comfortable in the rest of the apartment.

At the moment, we have kitty detente. Each pretends the other does not exist. Well, actually, Rumi pretends that Miko does not exist outside of "his room" and Miko wants to visit me and eat Rumi's food, but, hey, they are not fighting or even hissing much.

11/16
Rumi continues to become a little more outgoing which means he puts up with Miko's "invasion" of "his" room a bit less. He still lets her eat his food, but he watches her very, very closely all the time. He occasionally visits Peg's room, and the bathroom, and I've seen him halfway down the hall to the main room when we're all out here and I'm writing.

No fights, though still some hissing and he growls some when he feels she's gotten too close. This morning when I opened the door, he lay down on his side as if to say "bring her on."

12/17
All is quiet here and we have two cats who actually seem to like each other! Rum has come out of his shell and is really a sweet, funny cat. Miko likes him except when he's swatting her butt because she won't play with him.

He has not changed his mind about choosing me to be his human. He follows me around except when he's sleeping and has decided the best way to wake me up is to "aggressively snuggle." Who could resist him?

1/21
I guess they've passed the final test of compatibility.... they both slept on top of me for several hours last night. Rum is such a great cat, with a great sense of humor. He's still a bit shy of the wheelchair... "a chair... and it MOVES. Do the others do this? What kind of strange place is this that the chairs move? Does the sofa move as well?"

And he's just as likely to disappear for the duration of any visit as he is to make an appearance. You can never tell who he will come out for.

Lucky he's a well-behaved kitty and not prone to repeated (or upping) Miko's naughtiness. In fact, I think she may have learn a few manners from him!

Emma is doing great! It only took her a few hours to come out and play with the kids and me upon arriving at her new home. She loves her new toys and family. She really is eating up the attention. My two teenage girls are just loving her up. She goes to the vet for her first check up on Friday. She has acclimated extremely well.

Today is the month anniversary of Emma coming home. Yesterday, I told my mom that I feel like a new mom not wanting to leave her baby to go to work. Emma is so darn cute. She loves her new toys and plays fetch. She did great at her vet appointment. She was very scared leaving the house. I am sure she thought she was going to a new place again. The vet just praised the Siamese Rescue on your thoroughness and great care of these kitties. Emma loves to look out the window so I made her a little window seat so she could look out. We are so happy to her in our lives. Thank you for rescuing her and giving us the chance to have her in our lives. Emma still sleeps in my room at night but has the run of the house during the day. Our two sugar gliders are up in the cage at night. We haven't fully acclimated her to them yet so best to have her in my room until she does get use to them. She does love to watch them, "Cat TV."

COCOA
I do like lap time with foster Pops, and I have remembered how to purr and chirp. Foster Pops bought me a fleece lined bed and it is perfect for kneading and purring, he tells me I'm special since I am a "Polydactyl cat ". I think he means that I have kitty thumbs on my front paws. I am still a little scared of the cats I see through the French doors of my foster room but foster pops ended my quarantine on December 12th when he has introduced me to his ambassador cat Tony. Tony is a stinky boy cat who eats my food and wanders all over my room but I am trying to be nice to him. I even let him get close enough to touch noses with me before I hiss at him. Oh well, time to go listen to more relaxing music since it's nearly bedtime.
I have met all of foster pops cats that's Tony, Shay, and Shadow (and they are all stinky boys). Foster pops says I can freely roam the house and he has left the doors open to the foster room so I can wander about, but I like the living room best. He tells me I will be ready to go home as soon as he finds someone who will love me more than he does.

ORSINO
How can no one have chosen me yet? I don't know why but I do know that I'm having a great time playing and hanging out here at my foster home with a dog and some other cats. I like to play with just about anything, and if you need some things investigated and examined and batted around, I'm your guy! I'm a beautiful lynx point boy with white feet. And my coat might end up being a little longer than the average meezer. They said my dad might have been the neighbor's ragdoll. One thing I do know is that I'm adorable!

Notes from Home
Orsino is such an incredible kitty! He became very closely bonded with my daughter-in-law's kitten, Aloysius. Orsino would cry for Aloysius when he left. (Moxy also fell in love with Aloysius.) We all agreed it wouldn't be right to separate them from each other. So, now Aloysius lives with Mama Moxy and Orsino. They are the best of friends.

Orsino is comfortable wearing a walking jacket and walking on a leash. He and Aloysius have their own car seats, but they love riding together in a stroller. Aloysius doesn't like car rides, but Orsino loves them. Orsino doesn't like being confined by a car seat unless I pet him for reassurance.

I would wishes is almost ready to be neutered. This scares me because Moxy almost bled out and died when she was spayed. Besides, how am I going to tell Orsino they can't play rough for a few days?

Orsino has been registered as my emotional support animal. He makes it so much easier for me to be around people because he calms me down. I cannot believe Orsino is real! I love that boy!!!

GRACE
There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no...... I keep trying to make that work, like Dorothy did in the Wizzard of Oz, but no matter how many times I say it I haven't gone home yet. Maybe I need a pair of magic slippers. Maybe, I just need to find the right someone to give me that wonderful place called home. Please tell me that's you? I am a talker, love to purr, cuddle, play, and just be a part of everything you're doing. I only took a few days to settle in, and now I go up to everyone, even people I don't know, and ask for a pet or a game with the wand toy. Foster Mom keeps telling me I'm an amazing girl, and someone just needs to see that. And I keep repeating, there's no place like home, in hopes that soon I will have a forever home of my very own. Please ask about me and consider giving me the home I so long to find.

1/18/15 Update on Grace. Grace has become closest to my daughter, age 11, and spends most nights on her bed. But if I am working at the computer, she has a most urgent need to be petted or must lay on my papers. She has become more of a lap cat, but always on her terms. She still loves her time out on the screened in porch and loves to watch squirrels and birds. She loves to lay on any strange paper or coat, claiming it for herself. In fact, if she's upset, she calms herself down by laying down on a piece of paper. Like most Siamese, she's very chatty and demanding when it's time to be fed. She had a clean bill of health from the vet recently. Grace is still our beautiful kitty.

6/3/12 Update on Grace, or Gracie as we call her. When Grace first came to us, she was comfortable in my son’s room only where we had a great cat condo for her, her box and bowl. From her condo, she can see out the window and she likes that. She seemed to expand her comfort zone each week – to the rest of the upstairs, to the downstairs (rare appearances), to being near us, to being on top of whatever I am working on. She loves to lay on strange textures – aluminum foil, crunchy bags. She loves to spend time on the screened porch watching the birds.
We have a dog and are host to another small dog for a few months. She has given both of the dogs a quick smack down with her claws letting them know when she is not in the mood to be bothered. But lately, they have greeted her with quick nose kisses.
Grace lets us know when she is hungry by leading us to her bowl. I feed her in the morning. She eats the same food she ate when she came to us. She also asks for treats which she LOVES. She gets treats once or twice a day. She tells us what she wants. She’s quite chatty.
We have no medical concerns with her. She does not like to be picked up. She does not like to be held. These were two things I asked for so I’m not sure what happened in transition or in translation. She sleeps on the kids’ beds, but she is usually near me during the day. She’s next to me on top my papers right now.

KHALEESI
I like to imagine that I'm a fierce jungle beast - a white tiger! But I'm really just a sweet little girl who was born outside with no real chance at a life until someone foster momma says is one of our 'adopters' saw me and said I was too cute to spend my life outside, jungle beast or not. And so she called Siamese Rescue, and I got to live inside where it was warm and I had lots of food and toys and soft places to sleep. Next, foster mom says I will get an 'adopter' of my very own. Might that be you? I love attention, I love to play, I love other kitties. I am sure I would love you. Do you want your very own white tiger? Then ask about me!

Purrl, now know as Khaleesi, is loving her new home! She loves it almost as much as we love her! She was just a tiny bit shy but she warms up more and more each day. She loves to sleep all day but once dinner time comes she loves to eat and then there is no stopping her from bouncing around and chasing her toys. She loves her little fake mouse and her wand toy we play with together. :-)

1/17/2015

Hello, Khalessi went for her wellness checkup at her new vet office yesterday. Khalessi was very well behaved for her new doctor! The vet gave her a dose of Frontline behind her ears just as a precautionary measure. The vet also noticed some irratation and redness around her gums so he wants us to just keep an eye on it for not and if anything gets worse he may want to do a test for Bartonella Cat Scratch Disease. However, other than that Khalessi is very healthy and very happy and playful! She is eating well and using her litterbox like a good girl.

I love windows and the bathroom sink. I understand most homes have these things so I guess living inside will be A-OK.

I am turning into a Velcro kitty. I love to lay with my head on "Ma's" leg. I will be very loyal.

Bailey continues to be loved! He is such an awesome cat - loves to cuddle, sleep by the fireside in his Millie bed, sit on the back porch and watch birds and is a Romeo to our girl cat. He always rubs my leg everytime we let him in from the screened porch - such a gentleman! We really love our Bailey!
