Notes from Home
Mei-Li is doing great, but still a little scared . 4-17-10

4-24-10 We renamed Gina to Mei-li which translates to "pretty girl". We thought it was a more appropriate name for a siamese, and she is such a pretty girl. We took her to our vet yesterday, and they agreed with her name description and declared her to be very healthy. Mei-li has lived here for two weeks now. Every day she is making strides, investigating every corner of her new home. She is becoming very affectionate, sits on our lap, and allows me to pick her up and cuddle now. I love being a meowmy again!

may 26-10
Mei-li, previously Gina ,is pretty much relaxed and has accepted us as her devoted meowmy and daddy. She no longer hides in the boxsprings as in her last picture. She is very playful, and also sweet and loving at times. We are a perfect match!

Nov. 12, 2010
Mei-li had her first birthday with us in Oct. and has been with us for 6 months. She is playful , mischievious, and our sweetheart. We now have kitten toys everywhere. She especially loves her cube and has one on each floor. She sometimes even naps in them. We thank everyone who helped bring her into our lives. Peg

April 12,2011
I have been here for one year now and I am not about to leave. I was having some trouble walking and jumping and meowmy and paw had a lot of trouble catching me to go see the vet. I had to spend the day there for x-rays and such. I slept thru most of it , but was very happy to be home. It seems I broke one of my legs doing some of my silly antics, but I am recovering nicely now and get waited on pretty much all the time. I kind of like this reccovering thing. Thanks to all my friends who helped to get me here. I am the adored princess! Mei-li
April 27, 2012
we celebrated my 2 year anniversary with a visit to my vet. she agrees with meowmy and paw that I am beautiful and purfect ! My fracture healed so well that I hardly remember having it. I run and jump and play just like before. I am a petite girl and weigh 7 and 1/2 lbs. I love sleeping in my 2 "millie beds" have one on each floor.I also enjoy watching the squirrels eat outside our window. life here is pretty nice with my adoring parents!
April 10,2013
I do not like going to my vet but do it yearly. my third year in my forever home has been a healthy one. I am the adored darling of meowmy and paw and they just love watching my silly antics. Petite and beautiful describes me. we are so grateful to all the wonderful people that brought us together and thank you every day Mei-li (Gina)

5/30/15
Mei-li [gina] is now 5 years in her furever home with us. We could not be happier. She is the most beautiful smartest kitty ever, and we are so grateful for all the wonderful people who brought us together.

FAITH
I was born outside with my two sisters and three brothers. Some nice people brought us inside and took care of us and called Siamese Rescue to help find us forever homes. I am just learning about people and toys and being inside.

My brother Jimmy and I just arrived here a couple days ago and I've already shown Foster Meowm that I'm the adventurous and outgoing one. If you're looking for a ready-made family, right now it appears that Jimmy and I are a good match plus he depends on me 'The Warrior Kitten Princess Shanti' to protect him from things that go bump in the night.

Faith is very curious and she has such pretty colors. She hates treats but is very affectionate. Faith is always talking and starts the minute I get up in the morning. She wants to make sure I don't forget to feed her the wet food in the morning. She has very good habits, but she is a little finicky when eating, and loves to be brushed. Thank you all for bringing this beautiful girl to my home.

KIKI
Hi there, I'm Kiki!

I arrived here on Friday, Oct. 5 and had a nice bath that made me feel so good. I just sat in the sink and let meowmy scrub all the dirt and shelter smells off me. That shows that I'm an easy going girl. I chirp and talk to meowmy, and love it when she pets me.

I have to stay isolated from the other cats until the last of my kitty cold is gone and I don't sneeze any more, so I can't tell you if I like them or not, yet.

Meowmy said she'll let you know more as I tell her my secrets.

Update 10/27/14- I love to play. I don't care for the girl cats here. I love to play. My kitty cold is all gone. I sometimes get too stimulated when playing and will take a swipe at meowmy. guess I do have some tortitude after all. Did I tell you I love to play?

Purrs,
KiKi

Kiki is adjusting nicely. She's taking a nap in my office while I'm working.

Just wanted to give you an update, Kiki has been with me for a week now and continues to adapt to her new home. She is extremely playful especially in the middle of the night waking me up as she goes pouncing around in the hallway outside my bedroom. She is still adjusting to my dog but is making progress. She explores the entire house an night while my dog is in bed with me. She has started jumping up into my lap while I sit at my computer working. Hopefully I can get some pictures of her soon if she cooperates and I'll post them.

Here is a short video of Kiki playing. I don't know how to get a video added so here is the youtube link to the video: http://youtu.be/aEgWNIZIE0Y

I don't think an earlier post made it but it's hard to believe a month has already gone by. Kiki has adjusted very well and has become a very active and playful member of the family. She and my dog (Brauni) are getting along. I did upload some pictures of her just before christmas. We hope everyone has a great New Year and find their forever homes.

It's been six months and Kiki has settled in just fine. She is a feisty three year old. She likes to come into my office when I'm there and lay down and nap while I'm there. She loves her new heated window shelf and condo. I've included a picture of her on her condo unit. She has been a great addition. My dog is still getting use to her when she wants to rub up against him. He doesn't know what to make of it but they get along great. Kiki likes to follow him around and take the occasional swipe at his backside for fun.

CAVVI
Foster Mom is letting me make my debut on the website so that folks can ask about me. I haven't been very cooperative though. I would rather be getting loving than posing for pictures.

Getting and giving love is pretty much what I'm all about. I want to be on your lap or held against your chest. I like to rub my face against yours which Foster Mom says involves a little sacrifice on your part as right now my whiskers are all broken off so they're scratchy and my breath is stinky. I'll be getting a dental before heading to my new forever home though so my breath will be sweeter and my whiskers will have time to grow out.

It's maple sugaring time here in Western MA and Foster Mom says I'm even sweeter than maple syrup and loving me is calorie free! I won't be able to sweeten your pancakes but I sure will sweeten up your life.

Dear All,
Cavvi has become a "Messer Mouser" She is amazing! We now are mouse free. The mice have gotten the message that Cavvi has arrived. What an extra plus.

Cavvi is sleeping in her basket by my computer as I write this to you. She loves to sleep on my lap every morning when I have my coffee and watch the morning news. It's such a lovely way to start my day

Cavvi is like the pesky younger sister (she's 8 and our male kitty is 5) to our male kitty. Cavvi is sure Snow's food is better than hers, Cavvi takes over Show's sleeping basket by our bed whenever he isn't in his basket - Snow just moves away - we have seen them both sleeping on our bed at times during the day- a good sign (:

We were concerned that two of Cavvi's teeth were inflamed. We took her to one of the Siamese Cat Rescue vets, Dr. Susan Horowitz to have her evaluated. Dr. Horowitz put her on an antibiotic which cleared up the infection. Cavvi will be going back to Dr. Horowitz in a month for a recheck and her 3 year rabies vaccination

I am the sweetest kitten you will ever find, I was confiscated from a 30 cat household so I get along with every one. While some of my brothers and sisters are still scared.... NOT ME. I love being held, petted, but I have not found my voice yet . Foster mom says she will update when I have been here longer as I just arrived. She also says she thinks that I shoudld go to a home with other cats since I seem to love them so much
UPDATE:
Koko will definitly need to go to a home with anohter cat as he is really bonded with cats,

Notes from Home
June 5, 2014 – You wouldn't believe the care and attention everyone has given me right from the start of my trip on Saturday. My foster mom was great (and for a long time) but it was nice to know that I would have a forever home. The transporters kept everything on time and were so great in seeing that I was fine, even though I didn't particularly like being in a carrier for 5 hours. Nobody at the rescue has forgotten about me, either, because there have been notes and calls---wow, they're all super! Now for what has happened since then.....

I arrived home on Saturday, but have been too busy exploring to make any entries. Imagine, me with my own blog! What fun. This is a really interesting place, especially when Mom’s students come for their clarinet lessons. They are all really friendly, so I get lots of attention and hang out on the rocking chair while they play so I don’t miss anything.

I like to keep everyone guessing so I didn’t utter a peep until Tuesday morning (a silent Siamese?), and then just a little one at breakfast to show that the service has really been excellent. The rescue people were terrific and sent a bag of my favorite dry food and Mom had already gotten some of my wet food, so no complaints there.

I follow Mom everywhere just in case she shows me something brand new. Lots of rooms, and I get to go anywhere I like, well almost. She doesn’t seem to want me downstairs in the rec room by myself, but that’s ok because there’s plenty to keep me busy everywhere else.

Wow, and sleeping spots---terrific. I have taken over two chairs, a couch, and what she calls “Tala’s basket” – must be where an earlier cat slept. I am so busy checking everything out that I haven’t even tested my beautiful new Millie bed yet, but it’s nice to know there will be new stuff for quite a while. I am still play-testing all my new toys and found a whole basket of toys that smell like other cats who used to live here, which I’ll examine eventually. Just wanted to let all my fans know that I am really happy in my new digs. Cassie, checking out for my morning nap.

May27, 2014 - Happy Birthday to me! My one year update. I am lolling in the chair in the computer room while my mom takes this dictation. Great year! My mom has the best bunch of clarinet students---they pay lots of attention to me and let me climb into their cases and their coats, hold me on their laps; and talk with me when I start a conversation.

Healthwise, we have had a few rough patches, all to do with my chronic problems, but between mom and the vet we have everything under control and things are good. Mom's bed is perfect for sleeping at night, and I have lots of choices for my daily catnaps. I know that I had a reputation for not being willing to take pills (gotta maintain my independence) but I have decided that it's easier to swallow them on the first attempt because she (Mom) can get really persistent. I have two pills a day which keep most of my health problems from recurring so it's just a small giving in on my part and I always get a treat after, so, whatever! I feel as though I have been here forever, and Mom keeps telling me that's how she feels about it too. Thanks for finding me such super digs. Life is good!

Love to all from Cassie. You were really great when I needed you, but this life is perfect.

ROKKI
OK what does a guy have to do to get noticed? Do I have to stand on my head? I haven't quite mastered it, almost but not quite.

Do I have to walk a tight rope? Well foster mom won't put one up for me.

Well I guess the only thing left to do is to tell you how friendly I can be, how I love people, and what a good companion I can be.

Yes it might take a few days for me to adjust, I might be a little bit afraid for a few days, once I know I am home and safe I will be a real lover and have fun with you. I will sit by you and watch TV. Give me a chance and I will make you happy you did. (Transport available to most of our coverage area, some restrictions apply)

Notes from Home
Rokki had his first Vet visit today. His new Vet is Dr. Allison Ladman at Wilmington Animal Hospital. She had read in his records that he can nip and scratch when stressed, and was a little apprehensive about taking him out of the carrier. When she opened the carrier he walked right out, gave her a head bump and laid down on the table as calm as could be! She gave him a complete exam...no problems...then let him walk around the room while she used her computer. He jumped up on the counter and rubbed on her arm as she worked. Dr. Ladman volunteers at DELAWARE HUMANE ASSOC., She had never heard of Siamese Rescue and was very interested in knowing about it because she was impressed with the thorough records she received, and the beautiful condition Rokki. Was in. She raved about how beautiful he was and the great coat he had.I gave her your business card that was in my folder to take to the Humane Assoc. In case they take in any Siamese. When she was finished, she said,"OK Rokki, you can get back in your carrier now." And believe it or not, he jumped down off the table and walked straight into his carrier and laid down! She said"I don't believe it! They must have taught him to speak English at Siamese Rescue.

Rokki is still doing great! As of today, 12/22/14. He owns the whole house now. He is happy to be out of his bedroom confinement.. He races from room to room to watch the squirrels out of the doors and windows. He has perfect manners with litter box. He jumps up on everything, but is very graceful and has never knocked anything down. The only things he scratches are his scratch posts. He likes to hide around corners and jump out and attack my leg as I pass by, but he is only playing and doesn't do any damage. Loves to play with his toys. He seems to be happy here, and we are happy to have him.
As of 2/10/15, Rokki is completely settled in. He sleeps on his back with his front paws sticking straight up in the air. I have never seen another cat do this! I'm attaching a photo to show Rokki in his favorite position for his evening nap....a soft fuzzy throw on the living room sofa.
As of 5/26/15, it has been 6 months since we adopted Rokki. He is more secure and confident now. He seems to know he is here to stay. He is not a cuddly cat, but he shows affection by rubbing on our legs, head butting and sometimes sitting on my lap. He loves attention and will jump up and lie on anything you are reading or working on to get it. He still has a tendency to scratch or nip if annoyed, but it happens less often than before. He is a great addition to our family and has brought much joy to our home.

KUROKO
I'm getting a lot more comfy here in foster care. I was scared at first but I'm showing Foster Mom what a cuddle-bug I am.

I'm feeling good, just got out of isolation, and will be seeing how I get along with the other critters here pretty soon.

I won't be your Siamese Ambassador but I'll be a sweet and beautiful companion. Just got a few new pictures loaded up.

Why don't you Ask About Me?

Love

Wonton

PS Let's get this name changed too - we can discuss it after we get to know each other.

Notes from Home
Hello Siamese Rescue!

Wonton has been with us for over a month now and my family and I have finally came up with a new name for him. His new name is Kuroko. Kuroko enjoys spending his time sitting on his blanket surrounded by his toys. Sometimes when he sees another cat outside wandering around the neighborhood, Kuroko sits on the window and stares at them. He randomly likes to play with his toys and when he does it's usually for a short period of time. He is very loving and begins to purr as soon as you start to pet him. He's also very quiet. When my family and I carry him, he likes to wrap his front legs around our neck or shoulders. It's almost like he is hugging us. We have finally introduced our dog, Oni, to Kuroko and they get along better then I thought they would. Oni likes to sniff Kuroko (a lot) and in reaction to this, he simply stares at Oni but if he does it for too long, he lets out a low hiss. I think with time they will become good friends. To conclude, Kuroko is the perfect cat for our family! I'm very grateful to Karen, Donna and to all the volunteers from the Meezer Express that helped bring Kuroko home. Thank you and my family and I wish everyone in the organization a happy new year!

Kuroko update #2
Wow! Has it already been six months? Well, Kuroko is a very unusual cat, which of course, I adore! For example, when I pick him up, he automatically wraps his little limbs around my neck, as though he is hugging me. Another unusual trait of his is that he is likes to repetitively lick my face as though he was a dog.

When Kuroko first arrived to his new home, he never meowed. But then, about three months ago, I remember walking up to my front door and hearing a cat meow. My neighbor’s cats always come into my yard so I didn’t think much of it, until I realized that meow belonged to Kuroko! I was so surprised and happy to hear him meow. I took this as a good sign that he is growing accustomed his new home.

I knew introducing Kuroko to my dog, Oni wouldn’t be the easiest thing to do, but it went better than I expected. Oni use to always bark at Kuroko and in response the cat would simply glare and hiss at my dog. But now that they’ve been sharing the space for a while, Kuroko and Oni now live together somewhat in harmony. Sometimes their noses touch, and it’s a very cute sight to see, but if Oni lingers too long, then Kuroko will swipe at him.

When Kuroko first arrived, he didn’t really enjoy playing with toys, but eventually he grew a liking to the little mouse toys that I give to him. He likes knocking them around.

There is just a little minor problem he started to develop about a month ago. A lot of the times, when he is on his green blanket and I go to pet him, he attempts to either bite or scratch me. Now when I say “bite” or “scratch,” it doesn’t hurt, but it’s not the most pleasant thing to experience. I’m assuming he is doing this due to him feeling possessive over the blanket? But then sometimes, if he’s not around his blanket and I am petting him, after a few seconds, he will roll over and will start nibbling on my hand, as well as wrap his claws around my hand as though it was a toy.

But aside from his nibbling and scratching, Kuroko is a very good boy who I love very much. I am so happy and grateful to Siamese Rescue for bringing Kuroko into my life! Thank you for checking in! : )

ELSA
Elsa is certainly the 'Lion Queen' of her domain. Challenged with 3 super playful little boy kittens, she is quickly showing them exactly who the boss is!

Notes from Home
May 2015
Elsa is the queen of the house. She's matured into a beautiful cat - and she knows it. She's not as vocally expressive as her brother, Louie, but she doesn't have to be. It's usually her who initiates play time with Louie and what she wants, she gets. She's an incredible jumper too! She loves to jump up and tap her favorite green yo-yo and with a reach of over 4 feet, she's got some powerful legs.

November 2014
Elsa's first month with us has been a whirl of change but she's a strong girl. After sadly losing her brother, Jasper, to FIP the first week home, she seemed a little lonely but we made up for it with lots of love and attention. Her favorite game is playing fetch like a dog! She'll actually return her catch and play until she's tuckered out, at which point, she's a total lap cat and as content as can be.

While we give her a lot of attention, we really wanted her to have another companion so the last week of her first month, we adopted Louie (formerly Rowdy), a 3-month old snowshoe. This video shows her on day two of their introduction and as you can see from her behavior and her cute mewing/chirping sounds, she's warming up to him quite well, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sC_BiPjVy8k .
