MAIA
I am a social little butterfly. I like to go from place to place on a run. I rub noses with foster mom and the resident cats if I get out of my iso room. More to come about me.
4/21/12 I sit in foster mom's lap and she rubs my back and I just love it. I am very affectionate and sweet. I love to play with all my toys and now that I am out of the house I love to run and play. Life is good here but I want to be in my forever home. Don't you want a sweet kitten like me?

Notes from Home
Since it's been 3 years that I've been with my staff, Ron & Elaine, I thought it would be a good time to update everybody. I'm maturing into a very talkative cat and my staff encourage me to talk all the time. I've also been allowing the staff to become more friendly by snuggling with them occasionally. I have to admit, my staff seem to understand my needs pretty well and they do their best to take care of my every desire. But Mondays around my world are kind of scary as there are 3 big green noisy trucks that stop out in front of my home and take stuff from big bins that the staff fill up and drag out for them. They make a lot of noise and I find it unnerving, so I stay in my safety zone, under the bed. And that silly, deep rumbling sound from the sky that happens just after the sky flashes bright lights is kind of scary too, but it doesn't happen on a regular schedule like the trucks.
The staff keeps me brushed, fed, they clean my bathroom and offer to hold me whenever I ask them. Ron even learned that I like him to get his hands wet and play with me so I can get my face washed. Now every time he does the dishes, I lay down behind his feet and he gets the idea that I want a 'wet hands' play time. It's almost as if I were a god the way they cater to my every desire. You wouldn't believe how many toys I have to play with, or how many places I have to take naps. But one of my favorite spots is on Elaine's pillow at night, right above her head. And Ron's knee seems to be a great place to start play time. He gets on the bed, turns on the TV and I go to his knee and we start the play time until I get bored and need a drink of water from my fountain beside the bed.
So I guess 3 years into this gig, I'm pretty content for a Siamese cat. The staff keeps telling me that very few cats in the entire world are loved any more than I am. Thanks for signing them up to be my staff.
Maia

IAN
WANTED: human soul mate
My owner went into a nursing home, and the family took me to the shelter because "they aren't cat people." I've been at the shelter for months because being in a cage made me sad and confused, so no one adopted me.
Within 2 hours of arriving in my foster home, I've proven to be a lap-sitting, head-butting, playful snuggler. I'm a big, lanky fellow looking for a warm lap and a human or family who wants an intense, furever relationship.
Might you bring me home for the holidays?
Purrs,
Ian

Notes from Home
We have settled into a routine. I re-named him Buster as this seemed to be a better fit for his personality. As I write this, Buster is hiding in the basement under a recliner as I have learned that he is afraid of thunderstorms! He loves to eat and can hear the food being dispensed from anywhere in the house and can even tell time. He knows that the feeder dispenses at 5:30am and around 5:20am he is sitting in front of the chiming wall clock waiting for it to chime 5:30am.

GABBY
I'm loving, sweet and purring but just a ONE pound baby. I am a gorgeous little lilac lynx pt....don't I have purrty eyes too? The shelter just in't the place for a baby. After I get well she is afraid I'd get sick again if I had to travel more than a day away from Gator country. She says I still need lots of fertilizer to grow but right now I like to pass the time in my snugglesack close to her chest.

Notes from Home
You know, it is only since I transported Hershey and started getting updates about him that I realized that this functionality exists! Five years ago, I brought home a little 2 pound kitty and promptly renamed her. From the first day she was out in the house, she took a shine to my other young kitty and they have been best buddies ever since then. Gabby's lilac points (especially those purple ears) are just remarkable.
Gabby is the first cat that I've owned that loved to get under the covers. You will rarely find Gabby curled up on the top of the bed. Generally, you'll find a lump and locate her under the covers. This, of course, makes getting pictures of her a bit difficult!
UPDATE: June 7, 2015
Sad news this morning. I had to have Gabby euthanized. She became very ill on Friday and my friend rushed her to my vet. She seemed to be in complete kidney failure. The vet began a treatment of IV fluids, antibiotics and pain medication. She showed some signs of improvement yesterday but this morning, the vet called me and said she had relapsed. We decided that there was no possibility of a recovery from this point. I spent 20 minutes with her this morning. She was happy to see me but had no energy to give me her customary head bump or to lick my nose. I knew it was her time. Finally, I picked her up and she she passed away in my arms. I can't believe I only got 9 years with this beautiful purple girl.

MILO
Wandering around outside, ever so hopeful someone would love me. Not able to eat as my canines were literally hanging on by a thread, I made my way down to 6 pounds. The good news? I'm making up for lost time and feeling SO much better now that my mouth has been fixed up! I'm all about love and food!

Notes from Home
Update 6/6/15 We couldn't ask for a better cat than Milo. He's totally adjusted and comfortable after six months of living with us. He's developing into a regular lap cap and seems to know the best times to hop up in a lap and get petted. Milo is sometimes referred to as ninja cat, he is the quietest guy we've ever seen and suddenly appears when least expected. He loves to explore the house, is more vocal than before with the cutest meow, and especially likes to sit in the window (even more so if it's open). His appetite is good and he gained back all the weight lost due to his dental issues. He's now a good sized kitty, and with a very gentle nature. We consider ourselves fortunate to have him with us. Two new pics posted.
Update 1/11/15. Milo is doing wonderful! He's entertaining, and it's hard to know exactly what he'll do for his next act. He's incredibly playful, energetic, and loves peacock feathers and his wand with a furry/leather tassel on the end. Integration with Sagwa went well and Milo is totally comfortable now. He has claimed a few areas as his...previously unclaimed by Sagwa, so open territory. Surprising to me is how his comfort level and activity continue to evolve even after being with us for almost two months.
Felix, now named Milo (as in the Adventures of Milo and Otis) is settling in nicely. He's loving, playful and is ready to escape from his safe room and explore the rest of the house. For now he's content doing the kitty backstroke after a feather toy (pic)

SOPHIE
Hi there! My name is Luxio - that's just short for Luxurious! Today I am REALLY luxuriating in my new warm room which even offers room service!! WET food on a china plate and all the kibbles and clean water I can drink. Someone even cleans up after I poop! I mean, really.... is this a dream?? They even gave me a real live squishy toy to cuddle up with. This is a far cry from scavenging on the side of the road in the cold and wet.
I think I can get used to the luxury life!

Foster Notes for Luxio [VA10447] |
A little shy to begin with, Luxio will warm up fairly quickly. She loves to be pet in her mille bed, and will play string toys very quickly, but if she's out in the open she can still be skittish. Time, love and patience will pay off with this sweet little girl who obviously likes other animals! |

Notes from Home
Her Siameseness, The Divine Miss Sophie has become a wonderful, curious, naughty, georgeous member of our household and we don't know what we did before she came to live with us! She had both my husband and myself wrapped around her little blue point paws within days of her arrival although her Tonkinese brother Yoda isn't always so sure.. It was a flawless transition for her to fit into our household. She is a petite little girl at 9 months old and still can't wear a "big girl" collar so she still has her kitten one with the pink flower..how embarassing!
I would and will adopt again from Siamese Rescue in a heartbeat. Thank you everyone who worked so hard to bring Sophie into our life and hearts. She is a joy.

ILLYRIA
I am feeling much better, but am still shy. I do like being brushed though, and I like watching the other cats play. I need a quiet home with a nice cat or two to be with, and a person with patience to take it slow with me.

Notes from Home
Illyria (Lucy) is doing great! After spending a few days hiding under the bed, though eating well and using the litter box when the coast was clear, she suddenly decided to come out and play! Now she comes to me to be petted regularly and seems to love the attention. Tequiler has been keeping a close eye on her, usually from the doorway. Lucy has approached him a few times, only to be hissed at when she gets too close! He has shown no signs of aggression and Lucy has taken it completely in her stride, even walking right past him to explore the landing and bathroom, so I am sure it won't be long before the two begin to enjoy each other's company.
Saturday, April 19: Illyria (Lucy) is no longer shy - in fact she is becoming quite assertive! Last night she ran through the open bedroom door, explored the upstairs and then ventured downstairs to check out the rest of the house. It took a while to coax her back to her room for the night Unfortunately her sudden confidence has had a detrimental effect on Tequiler, who stopped eating and has vomited a couple of times. Lucy went to the vet today and received all kinds of attention and fuss - in fact her photo will be uploaded on Big Creek Veterinary Hospital's Facebook page as pet of the day! She is perfectly healthy and completely up-to-date (thanks to Siamese Rescue). The vet, who is very familiar with Tequiler, believes he is simply suffering from stress and suggested that I use the Feliway diffuser for him instead of for Lucy as originally intended. I will have to keep the cats separated for a while longer, at least until Tequiler gets back to his usual happy self. Of course he will go to the vet if he doesn't start eating again this weekend. The name "Lucy" seems to fit very well - she is beginning to remind me of Lucy in the Peanuts cartoon!
Monday, April 21
Sadly Tequiler is in hospital and Lucy seems to know that he is missing, so she is once again spending most of her time under the bed, though still eating well and coming out for her mealtime loving. Tequiler had not eaten for 3 days and is dehydrated. Blood tests and temperature were all normal, so the vet is hopeful he will recover quickly. There is no apparent reason for his condition - other than stress caused by the sudden upheaval in his life. I am devastated! The vet will keep him until he is properly hydrated and eating again.
Wednesday, April 23
Tequiler responded well to fluids and force-feeding and is now back home. There seems to be no explanation other than stress at having to share his home (more likely me!) with a stranger. He is quite perky today and starting to eat, though only a little so far.
Lucy is ecstatic that he is back! When I opened the door to her room she shot out like a rocket and flatly refused to go back. She has remained free ever since, though she does go back occasionally for naps, or to use her litter box. There is no hostility between the cats and they actually seem to be getting along fine. Lucy explored every corner of the house, found the drinking fountain, Tequiler's litter box and his food! Heida was right when she said Lucy is a cat's cat, rather than a human's cat. She doesn't come to me for cuddles any more - my role is merely to provide catering and house-keeping services - but runs straight to Tequiler and wants to hang out with him. Luckily she does provide him with space on a regular basis, which will help him recover from PTSD!!
I had been very careful to give Tequiler plenty of attention, so he shouldn't have been jealous, but maybe even a few minutes here and there attending to Lucy's needs and whims was too much. Hopefully the crisis has ended and all will go well from now on.
Wednesday, April 30: Lucy has settled in extremely well and is thriving! Tequiler too is recovering well from his recent setback. He is not yet willing to accept Lucy as his favorite companion, but is happy enough to share space and play with her. They both like to chase a laser light, so we play with that together once or twice a day. Lucy likes to watch the birds from a window perch. Sometimes she disappears for a couple of hours and it took me a while to figure out where she was hiding - she eventually emerged from the basement trailing cobwebs! Obviously she had been hiding in the utility room, probably behind the furnace. The only problem now is clipping her nails! She fights like a wildcat and it feels like trying to hold onto a greased piglet. No success so far, but will keep trying. She is very active and has gained a little weight. She is also becoming more affectionate with me, though she doesn't like being picked up, Am trying to get sone photos of her, but she doesn't keep still long enough.
Sunday, October 10, 2014
Illyria (Lucy) has settled in very well. She has become quite a "people cat", wanting lots of attention from me and sometimes annoying Tequiler by settling confidently on my lap. She doesn't like strangers and disappears whenever someone comes to the house She still looks at me defiantly and smacks my hand when she doesn't get what she wants - we're working on that! I found the best reaction on my part is to explain quite firmly (again) that there will be no scratching or biting in this house and then to simply walk away. I'm sure Tequiler wishes she understood the long-standing house rule that "boys go first." She insists on being fed first! There is a fair amount of jealousy between them, but they work it out, usually to Lucy's advantage. She still loves the window perches, the toys and chasing the laser light. She keeps a close eye on anything that is going on and is intensely curious. She really is irresistible!
Thursday, June 4. 2015
Lucy (Illyria) is doing extremely well. Her first year check-up confirmed that she is very healthy. I apologize for sending this update so late, but the past few months have been very difficult as I had a bad fall on the stairs towards the end of February and ended up in hospital three times and rehab for several weeks. My two daughters took good care of the cats and Lucy started demanding attention from everyone who came to the house. She no longer hides when strangers come in and is a continual source of amusement. She is very much a prima donna, strutting around like a spoiled movie star! I have been home now for about a month and she has started sleeping with me. Tequiler is worried that I might leave again and guards me whenever my daughters come over, but the whole experience has been very good for Lucy. She is full of confidence now.

I love to climb! I love to climb! Did I tell you I love to climb!! I love to run, I love to play, I love EVERYTHING!! I love dogs - I like to talk to the ones around here but gosh darn it they don't pet me!! I finally got one to give me kisses. So if you have dogs or if you have cats I would be fantastic with them. I just love EVERYTHING!!!

I can't believe it's only been 6 months since Yuengling(Ursa) arrived! I feel like Yuengline has been with us forever. She is so sweet and so loving. We could not have asked for a better kitten, I feel so lucky to have gotten her. She and her big brother Raspi get along quite well. His vet said he looks great and has a new lease on life!! He thinks so most of the time. We have no issues at all with her. She is truly a joy to have.
Thanks so much for helping to bring her to us
Kathy and Allan
