I AM SO THANKFUL - AND 'TIS THE SEASON FOR THAT. I love my new place. Just couple days ago, I was living outside with my other brothers, sisters and other friends and family. And then all of a sudden, I was in this trap and then to the vet and then to my new wonderful place where I have a warm place to sleep and food to eat. I am also thankful that my loving brother Frazier is with me - thank goodness for him. He is quite the handsome guy too. I love him and he loves me and together, you will receive all the love you could ever want. Just think - two wonderful kittens for the holidays - you are so lucky to have us - we will love you so much - if you think you can handle all this love - ASK ABOUT ME and then go ask about Frazier too please. Since it is New Year's Eve, I just wanted to express my happiness with the two new critters, Viola and Sebastian. Is it possible the person who fed and handled them in the feral colony has acess to these updates, because I am so grateful to her for the care she gave them, not to mention the second chance she gave them!! Lucky, lucky little cats! It hasn't even been a month since I brought them home and they are fully integrated into the now 4 cat household. They greet me at the door when I come home and sleep next to me at night. My other Siamese rescue likes to play with them, and Moxie, well Moxie just co-exists (at least she only hisses at Ernest) and stays out of the way. Viola loves to sit in my lap and I've even had the three of them in my lap (except Moxie). Sebastian likes to chirp as he cavorts around the house and put toys into the tub and play with them there. They are learning their names. Sebastian likes to be carried around the house on my shoulder--it makes him feel special:) Thank you Peggy and Gina for helping me find these great little guys! Happy New Year!!! Jan

SEBASTIAN
I am so thankful to be here - I used to live outside where it was cold and wet and now I am in this wonderful place w/ my loving sister - Lilith - I love her so much. Can you find love in your heart for both of us? You won't be sorry because even though we had a rough start in life, we still have so much love to give and we both enjoy receiving love too. So please ASK about Lilith and me - you will be so happy that you did - we will love you silly. And also - just an fyi - Lilith is also very beautiful. THANK YOU!!!!

I am very sad to say that Sebastion aka Frazier died very unexpectedly on Dec 16, 2013. I had a necropsy done by the University of Minnesota, and they could find no obvious cause. I was devastated.

WELLIE
Oh wow, am I happy to be out of the shelter and here with meowmy. She gave me lots of toys and a big "room" to play in and a nice soft bed, too. I let her know how happy I am each time she picks me up my purring and purring and purring.

If you'd like a purring boy, ask about me and maybe I can come live with you forever!

Purrs,

Wellie is doing really great! We did the transitioning last Thursday --putting Sox and Slippers in Wellie's room while he had run of the house. He loved being able to really run. After 2 hours I switched them back but left the door open. He was out right away! Slippers (4yr old female) hissed at him and growled the first few days, but I found it very interesting that she didn't run away from him. She was really intrigued. He knew not to press his luck with her too quickly and gave her a respectable amount of personal space! Sox (3 year old male) had already enjoyed playing pawsies with Wellie, so he was glad to finally see the whole thing! He was also fascinated by Wellie. It was so cute to see Wellie try to pounce on him and Sox run away -- he wouldn't run too far, just far enough, and then he'd come back to see what else Wellie was up to. On Saturday it was warm enough to open the door to the deck and the three cats sat side by side at the screen door watching the birds -- no growling or hissing. I was so surprised and thankful. They seem to all be doing well with one another. Wellie has continued to go back to my daughter Elizabeth's bed (his isolation room) each night and snuggle with her which has made us all happy -- especially Elizabeth! He's fallen asleep in all of our laps and then runs laps inside the house. He's such a blessing and such a happy cat. I'll upload some photos soon.

Wellie is still such a joy. He has the sweetest little meow for such a big cat. I've attached some recent photos showing all three of our kitties.

BIRK
I'm a handsome little lynx point guy with white feet. I had a really, really rough start in life, and someone caught me and brought me to the angels at the SPCA where they got me all healthy again. Adorable, sweet, goofy, playful... foster mom says I'm all these things. I love to play with my toys, and I'm a champ at eating and using the litterbox!
Notes from Home
Birk is doing well, and we love him dearly. You can see that he gets along with Wellie and Slippers also. He has the softest fur. He also has a short attention span which makes life with Birk fun!

HERA
Knock, knock.. Who's there?
Hera here and hopin for a forever home!
Is that YOU?!

Update: 6-17-13
Hera is a female flame point, which in itself is a bit unusual since most flame points are male. But other than being a girly-girly, she as all the wonderful flame qualities you could want, calm and loving, friendly and fearless, a lover of everyone and everything, easy to train and always has something to say!

Hera is fully integrated here with my cats and one large dog. She is unfazed by any of them so would likely do fine with another cat or a cat friendly dog. Hera's choice though, is her human, she loves to be with me, sleeping beside me or stretched out on the back of the couch (see pic). She is a bit of a talker but only when she has something important to say like "feed me". Hera is an absolute lover, loves to cuddle, loves to headbutt and purrs constantly. A true "people" cat, she always wants to be wherever her people are.

Come on, check out her pictures and video, you know you want to!

Notes from Home
It has been 6 months since Hera came home! Originally named after a Greek goddess, her name changed to something that describes her petite build---Sesame (like a dainty sesame seed!). We affectionately also call her Pitty since she pitter pats around the house.

Sesame is doing well. She got a little sister (a lynx point Meezer from a local rescue) and they play like crazy. Sesame loves her toys and laying in sunbeams that come in through the front storm door. She had a great first Christmas and was very good with the tree. She liked to hide under it and peek out through the branches. They got a cool cat condo from Sandy Claws and both like the "penthouse" part of it.

We are so happy that she came to live with us, she is just a joy, and a sweet kitty. Thanks to Siamese Cat Rescue for saving her and helping to bring her to us from Indiana to TN!

KEEGAN
Looking for sugar & spice & everything nice? Wow...that's what I'm looking for too! I am a handful according to my foster meowm...She says I have a lot of energy & am a take charge kinda guy...whatever...I say I just enjoy life!

I can't wait for you to click on that button & ask about me & my foster meowm will see if we are a match - she does say that I must have a playmate!!
Notes from Home
Just wanted to update everyone on Keegan's forever home status. I can officially say that he's the happiest little kitty in the world!! Keegan has adapted to his forever home better and faster than we expected. At the vet last Saturday, Dr. Straley said he was the healthiest (and most beautiful) little kitty he had seen in a while. He's gained a pound since coming home and he weighs in at 5.8 lbs. He and his new brother Scooby are as thick as thieves and get along so well. Thanks to everyone that helped bring Keegan to his forever home. We love him so much and he is so happy!! Thanks and enjoy a few pixs of the boys!!

Have to report to everyone that Keegan is doing great and he's the happiest big kitty in the world!! All grown up now as you can see but he's still a kitty at heart. Dr. Straley gave him and his sister Lennox both a clean bill of health last month. They get along fine and we are all happy, happy, happy in this forever home!!

Stop, look at me, I am growing up here!!! Do you want a sweet kitten that comes to you for affection and will sit on your lap and give you kisses? Well that is me. I think someone should ask about me and give me that forever home we are all seeking. Thank you, Alliss

Aleece is doing fine. She's been over the diarrhea problem for a couple of weeks now. She's settling into a regular routine but she is a VERY active kitty so we're working through that issue with extra toys and playtime. But she loves affection and close contact with us. We're very happy with her and just love her to pieces.

1/26/14
Aleece has settled in and has become a big part of our family. She is with us almost constantly throughout the day. She's still very active but we've learned how to channel her "enthusiasm". She's very affectionate and likes to cuddle and sleep on one of our laps. She's turned out to be a perfect match for us.

TALLY
Friendly, outgoing, and loves company ! And opinionated and must be queen-dogs could be tolerated if well behaved, all other cats must accept my rule .
I am super curious, must be involved in everything, love to explore and find new things to entertain myself with .
The fridge has a lot of cool stuff !
I dont like to travel, so no long transports please !
Notes from Home
I renamed Talisa "Tally" and she is doing great! She's a little dynamo and she has been playing, playing, playing and climbing all over the house. She loves her Turbo Scratcher, and right now her favorite toy is a little orange catnip mouse that she carries around the house like her baby when she's not kicking the tar out of it. She likes to give me affectionate head butts that are more like full body side swipes, and she spends some time each day snuggled on my lap. It's wonderful having her here.

Notes from Home
13 July 2011:
Overall, things continue to go very well. We have successfully retrained Nena not to have her face in the middle of our dinner plates. She quickly learned that she will be rewarded, with appropriate treats and love, if she sits quietly and lets us eat. Yeah!!!!

Nena seems to be quite "at home" with us here. She is very social, eats well, has excellent litter box habits, and loves to play. We have recently discovered that she can no longer tolerate the Royal Canin wet food; if she eats it, she will throw up within an hour and then feel pretty lousy for a while.

We have also discovered that Nena LOVES to eat plastic shopping bags. It's madness! We cannot even bring in groceries and sit them on the counter for more than a minute without her chewing through the bag and eating a chunk of it. It scared us to death the first time we caught her eating the bag. Fortunately, she threw it all up within about thirty minutes. A little research on this, and we discovered that they use some type of gelatin in the manufacturing process - she must also like Jell-O, but we are not about to go there!

Skyy and Nena are regular play dates now. They chase each other about, toss toys at each other and also call out to each other in their special Siamese way every night. It is very cute to watch them. They still jockey for the alpha position - - Skyy challenges Nena, Nena backs down. Nena challenges Skyy, Skyy backs down. There have not been any major skirmishes, however. Nena is quite the Warrior Princess.

Similarly, Nena challenges Lili for position, winning every time. This has been challenging, as Lili does not fight back. Lili hisses and growls and then retreats, which seems to make Nena more aggressive with her. Since our last update, the conflicts between Nena and Lili have become fewer and less intense. We have had weeks where there is no conflict. :-) The times when there is conflict, it is usually because only one of us (not both of us) is at home for a few days. This creates tension as Nena feels territorial for more attention.

Additionally, Lili has been hanging out with the other two in the sunroom nearly every day for the last month or so. It is SO nice to have all three of them in the same room, peacefully. Lili is becoming more of herself, demanding attention and being more present with us. We continue to get to know Nena, and she is such a sweet and playful girl. Can't imagine not having here with the rest of the pride.

15 January 2012: Nena's annual visit to the vet went smashingly well. The poor doctor had to pick up Nena and run some water in order to get her to stop purring during the exam so that she could hear her heart and lungs. Nena is such a sweet girl! Her check up was great, and she seems to thus far have avoided the Siamese "bad teeth" gene. Her teeth are gorgeous! She continues to bond with the other two cats, and there hasn't been any hissing or spitting in months (between Nena and Lili). All three of them routinely curly up on the bed together.

Nena likes her tuna in the morning, followed by a little hard boiled egg yolk. We have discovered that wet food makes her throw up within about a half an hour of eating it, so no more for her. She is on an all natural diet (Orajen) and she is doing really well.

She prefers her hairball treats to Laxatone, and she loves, loves, loves the little fleece mice that were made by her foster Meowm. She carries one of them around in her mouth nearly all of the time - a gal needs to be ready to play at a moment's notice. ;-)

26 January 2014: What can we say about Nena? She is a doll. She follows us around the house like a purring shadow, and she loves to watch the birds out the windows. Every evening, she lays on our laps while we read or watch television. Sometimes, she even lets us know how impatient she is getting for us to sit down by standing next to us and "yelling" until we either pick her up or walk toward a couch or chair. She is an absolute trip!

She and Skyy are definitely the two love bugs in the house. Both of them want to be hugged and petted and play. Lili has her moments of being petted and playing, but she is definitely not one to want to be picked up or held. Although we do pick her up and hold her for a minute or two, just so she knows it is safe and nothing bad will happen to her.

All in all, Nena is delightful - and we love our brood. :-)

LILI
I'm a little bit shy, but I warm up quickly;
I really want to be your friend, but Im a little bit scared.
I like to have a safe place to retreat to when I'm unsure.
I'm learning to play, I like catnip and the laser wand.
I love to have my head and neck scratched, I'll head butt you in return.
I like other cats, but they have to be quiet and gentle and not chase me around.
I'm going to need a quiet home with someone who is patient and will let me come around in my own time and on my own terms.
If I sound like the kitty for you, please click on my "Ask about me" button and foster mom will get right back to you.

Notes from Home
A big "HELLO" out there to the Siamese Rescue Center; Lili here. I am so happy that my meow foster Mom gave me to Jodi and Eileen. They have a very cozy home with another furry fine fellow named Skyy; he has showed me the ropes and he loves to play with me and snuggle with me on the bed. I especially love to taunt him when we both watch the birds on the cat tree in the sun room. The silly boy falls asleep and I pop him in the head, and he doesn't know what hit him for a minute or two. I'm sneaky that way! ;-)

It has taken me a while to figure out that this is my home, and I am now feeling comfortable in my forever home. My care givers let me have personal space, and that has helped me feel comfortable... so comfortable that I am now demanding attention. In the mornings, for instance, I routinely stand on them in bed, and tell them in my own special way that I need some pets and love. Only a couple of months ago, I started to "talk" to them, and they got so excited to hear me that now I know exactly how to get their attention quickly. Skyy is not always so pleased that I can get attention as easily as he does! But, I am the Queen of the house.

My two meow-moms have been able to brush me and clip my nails on a regular basis, and I love licking the Laxatone off of their fingers in the morning. Sometimes I have to wait for them to catch up to my schedule for the Laxatone, so I sit patiently on the kitchen rug and wait for them.

I LOVE to look out the windows and watch the birds, squirrels and chipmunks - I get so excited that I often chirp and meow while I am watching them. I have a healthy appetite, but I am not a piggy like my brother, Skyy. It's important to maintain my girlish figure, and the vet says that I am in excellent health, even though I have wobbly knees, whatever that means. It didn't stop me from catching that pesky mouse that got into the house this past fall. My meow-Moms were so excited that I caught it - no big deal. It was fun.

At first, Skyy used to chase me around the house at night, trying to get me to play with him, and now, I often initiate the chase and he has to work to keep up with me. (I think this is a good thing, cause he's on a diet.) :-)

Guess that's all for now, 'cause it's a beautiful day and the birds are at the feeder. My meow-moms have uploaded some photos so you can see that I'm ready for my close-ups.

15 January 2012: Ms. Lili seems to have inherited the Siamese "bad teeth" gene, so she will likely need to have more oral surgery here in the next 2-3 months. About a year ago, we had her teeth cleaned, and in the process, we were notified that 5 of her teeth needed to come out. She felt much better afterward, but we hope she doesn't freak out when she doesn't have any of her canine incisors.

Lili will always be a very skittish girl, but she is so sweet. She loves to play, usually at night, and she has the softest meow and purr. We absolutely adore her.

January 26, 2014: My, my how time flies! Last year, Lili's "Siamese" teeth brought her new challenges. We had to remove all but one of her front canines as they were developing abscesses and were causing her not to eat. Since the surgery, Lili has been more present and playful with us.

Lili continues to be such a sweet girl, and she is more demanding of our attention (which is a welcomed change!). Over the last year, she has become more confident, and each night, she comes to see us in the living room. She jumps right up and lays down next to us, purring like a freight train. She LOVES to be scratched and petted, and she feels comfortable enough to stretch out and let us rub her belly (but only for a minute or two). She snuggles up next to Skyy, and occasionally Nena too.

We have discovered that she really likes the little miniature tennis balls. She bats them around the house, romping here and there, for 30-40 minutes at a time (usually at night). It makes us smile that she is finally coming into her own. It's hard to believe it has taken this long, but we absolutely adore her.
