RUDY
I've had a couple of rough years.
First my own person went to Rainbow Bridge and then my next person left for there.
There were no close family members to take me in so then I lost my home and my feline family members that I used to snuggle with.
The shelter was a scary scary place for me....barking dogs, the smells, the noise...it was just too much so I started to shut down.
A nice lady at the shelter contacted Siamese Rescue so I'm back into a home being given time to readjust.
Foster Mary believes I probably didn't get much attention in the past couple of years so as a result I have grown very shy.
Patience is going to be key for me. If you are looking for an instant lap cat then I'm not your guy; but if you want to offer me love and have understanding on dealing with a shy kitty the gratification when I do finally decide to return to the land of the loved will be so heartwarming.

Notes from Home
Rudy is making slight progress which is great. He is slowly getting to know us and for now he likes lots of distance from us when he roams the house. However, in the evenings he allows me to cuddle him at eye level in his designated space. The big news is he has not mummified himself in blankets for quite some time. He is feeling comfortable is "showing" himself, but at a distance.

LEAH-DOROTHEA
Turned into a shelter with my two siblings, I am the sole survivor. I'm going to make it, I just know it, and I hope you're going to be the one to help me! Lots of cuddling, loving, snuggling, carrying around and adoring, that's what I need! And I could easily be a cat buddy if you have a cute geezer man who needs a friend?

Notes from Home
Leah is doing great and adapting well. She has a lovely personality and has lots to say. She is enjoying her space.

Do correct the spelling of her name to Leah-Dorothea. Thanks!

ZOEY
Ambrosia means Love requited. Will you return the love I give to you. I am a shy girl but oh so loving when I find out I can trust you. I am beautiful too.

6/29/10 I am like a gentle flower opening up for my personality to show. I am loving all the petting I get and the good food too. I have been waiting for someone to want me and I don't understand why no one asks about me. Can you tell me why?

Notes from Home
Oh, I can't believe it's been 4 years since I came to live with my new Meowm! I've had a lot of fun! But, just a couple of weeks ago I had an unpleasant medical adventure. Meowm noticed blood in my urine and took me to the Vet. (That's not fun either as I really don't cooperate when it comes to putting me in a carrier.) Anyway, turns out I had a bladder stone...a pretty big one...and I had to have surgery. That was NOT FUN, but I did enjoy the happy juice they gave me! I'm just fine now and I'm back to all my old kitten ways...I love to run and run and run around the house...and damn the consequences! And, I'm back to jumping up on my favorite window sill to see what's going on outside. What a life!

PHANTOM
Hi everyone - my name is Rogue. I was trapped and spayed, and they even cut off the tip of my beautiful ear! That's what they do to wild things, but the trappers saw that there was something gentle in my eyes... so here I am! I'm getting used to this new way of life, and FAST! In 16 days I've graduated from a cowering little ball of fur to a catnip crunching, purring, loving, happy ball of fur! I'm coming out of my private space and playing with my fostermate, Lucille. We groom each other, play, and lay in the sun together. If I move in with you, I hope you'll have a friendly kitty to keep me company. I might take a few steps backward at first, but great things are in store for our life together!
Notes from Home
Rogue (now Phantom) is settling in well. She still scared at times, especially when both Ian and I are around and standing over her, but her curiosity and desire for affection and play wins out more and more.

She seems to prefer dark, quiet places to sleep, so we don't see much of her during the day. In the late afternoon and evening, though, she starts to reappear. She does this thing where she arches her back way up in the air then tries to walk that way - this is her way of telling us she would like some attention. As soon as you pet her she starts purring and leaning into your hand and from there it's a short journey to her being sprawled out on the floor, getting pets and scritches while she kneads at the carpet or the air. Soon after she's likely to very gently grab your hand to start playing as well.

She loves to play. Catnip toys in particular, but she's also fond of hands and feet. I woke up one night last week with a cat clamped around my foot! She and Otis play some as well, and there has never been any growling or hissing on either of their parts.

I think she's going to continue to open up as she gets more comfortable and realizes the big scary people aren't dangerous. I'm not pressuring her to be out more than she is comfortable, but every day she is warming up more and more.

One year note -

What an eventful year for all of us! As many know, we lost Phantom for about six weeks back in April - she escaped out an open door (having never dashed for the door before) and it took us quite a while to figure out where exactly she was hiding and develop a plan to trap her. Alls well that ends well, though, as she suffered no ill effects from her little adventure. And we're certainly very careful when we open the door now! Sometimes she scratches at the door and looks piteous, but otherwise she seems perfectly content back inside.

Now that she's fully part of the family it's clear that she's a closet people cat. She certainly enjoys playing with Otis, but what she REALLY likes is rubbing up against her people for pets and tummy rubs. And if she doesn't get them, she'll start crying, even in the middle of the night. She arches her back and rubs and winds and purrs and rolls around on her back and very, very gently grabs our hands and bites us. Basically, we ended up with a SECOND very needy, affectionate little cat.

She's a real sweetheart and even though she's not a lap cat, she loves her people very much.

Notes from Home
Coco has the run of the house and greets me daily when I come home from work. You can never find her sleeping in the same spot. She is not afraid of the TV (loud) or the vacuum cleaner.
She loves all of her toys and scratching post and the cozy and blanket.

She is still shy, not a cuddler yet! But I'm trying.

Thanks to all

THAI
Just arrived, had a bath and nail trim and now meowmy says I need to just sleep, eat, play and grow big enough to go to my forever home. I should be finished with all my vetting by July 18 so that's aproximately when I'll be ready to go home.
My personality is starting to reveal itself and though I like to be petted, I am very shy and meowmy has to "dig" me out from under the Millie bed so she can pet me. I think I'd be happiest in a home that is quiet with just another nice cat or kitten for company.

Meowmy said she'd try to find me that kind of forever home.
Purrs,
Tup Tup

Thai is doing great. He is enjoying the California lifestyle. He and Fiji saw the Pacific Ocean for the first time Christmas 2012 in Santa Barbara. I like to take them places in their pet stroller or for walks in our neighborhood. Everyone who sees Thai, falls in love with him. Not only is he a stunning seal point, but he is so sweet, friendly, and affectionate. Even "dog people" can't help but love him. He really is the best cat. I am so grateful to Siamese Rescue for doing what they do and letting me adopt such a wonderful Siamese.

GOMEZ
Please - I don't want to be a page one Meezer! I come with an adoption scholarship. If you can offer a fur-ever home for a true young-at-heart gentleman Meezer, with a continuous purring motor who loves to snuggle with my purr-son(s), I'm your boy. Sometimes I like to sleep with you. I do like helping in the kitchen - see my photos of helping with baking Christmas cookies.

A few years ago my ear itched so much that I needed surgery to fix the boo-boo from my scratching. So now I have a cute crinkle ear that gives me a jaunty look - that's why foster Meown Trish calls me 'Dapper Dan". I'm a pretty healthy geezer meezer. I do take a tiny blue pill everyday (Meown sneaks it into my breakfast) to help me with my allergy so that I don't itch. I use my box faithfully. Please ask Meown Trish to tell you more about me.

Purrs, Gomez

Notes from Home
Gomez settled in wonderfully here in Maine. He was clearly a piece that had always been missing here, and hopefully we were the piece that had been missing for him. Such a good helper, always enjoying sampling whatever was cooking in the kitchen (even if he wasn't supposed to!). He especially enjoyed sitting next to his mom and dad on the couch and really liked being able to finally sleep the bed at night time. And what a smart boy! We would talk to him and he would talk right back. The days at work were easier to get through knowing he was going to be waiting for us at the door.
Our time with Gomez was short but we wouldn't change a moment of it, he brought so much joy to us. So thank you to Siamese Rescue for bringing together a family that was always meant to be. Gomez will always be our little snowshoe boy. We miss him very much.

Notes from Home
Mushmellon, now Sky, is a wonderful addition to our family. What a sweet boy! He's also definitely mischievous, diving head first into the garbage, chasing feet under the covers, making toys out of everything in sight - he keeps us laughing (and cleaning up!) . He and our other Siamese rescue, Annie, are good friends and often dash through the house chasing one another. Sometimes he's a bit much for her since she's a much older girl, but she lets him know and all is well. Sky is also a very affectionate boy - he loves to cuddle and curl up on our laps. His headbutts can wake us up on occasion, but what a nice thing to wake up to!

We're so happy that he's part of our family. Our daughter loves him and can play with him for long periods of time. She calls him "Mushy" and we still occasionally call him "Mushmellon" , but we decided on Sky because of his cloud like fur and pale blue eyes. He's a stunner.

We all love him and think that he feels the same!

MERLIN
You humans are all SO weird. Here I am, absolutely purrfect. I love laps. I love playing. I'm well behaved. I'm well mannered. And I'm just one heck of a doll baby cat, and I'm still here! What's with that anyway? Do you even realize what you're missing?????? (now are you going to get over here and pet me, or what?)
Notes from Home
Merlin is doing great. It's been 3 years now and he has gone from a 7 lb creamy white and seal point boy into a big brown bear of about 13 lbs. He's only got a litlle while left on his maine. He is such a fun and hilarious cat! Very curious and smart too. When he first cam to live with me he was diagnosed with feline asthma which I've been treating with inhalers ever since. He's so good that he waits for and sometimes whines if I'm late for his puff. I recently took him to the vet and it seems that he may have outgrown his asthma now! I am thrilled. We are trying him on only one puff a day and so far so good - no coughing or symptoms. Over all he's doing fabulous and is very loved and cherished!

4 year update: Merlin has outgrown his asthma! He recently had a repeat chest xray and his films look much better. He is no longer on his inhaler and he doesn't have any symptoms. I am thrilled. He's a very funny and quirky cat. He knows how to get what he wants. I recently gave him a lion cut (did it myself) it took an hour but he didn't mind. He went from being dark brown to tan. It was unbelievable. I can really see his points again. (trying to upload picture) He loves his new cut and has been extra rambunctious since! He's such a cool cat...he keeps me laughing and entertained...so glad we found each other.
