COCOA
HUBBA! HUBBA! WHAT A HUNK!!!!!

Gorgeous, sweet, gentle, patient doll boy!

I have settled in well at Foster Mom's. I much prefer my new digs with a view of the back garden and the birds and squirrels. I did meet the resident kitties and though I am a little uncertain I think all will be fine. They are friendly and are trying to make me feel welcome. Maybe I'll go out to play with them tomorrow.

Cocoa (Foster Mom says they should have named me Adonis!)

Cocoa is like the little engine that could. He's getting up the courage to come out to play and be part of the family. He is a timid type kittie and was picked on by some of the cats at his former home, but he is making big strides to becoming integrated with his new housemates. He really wants and deserves a home where he does not have to be isolated. He has lived with other cats, a cat friendly dog and a 10 year old boy.

WOW! What difference a few days make. I have become so comfortable in my foster home I am venturing downstairs and everywhere! I'm doing fine with my housemates and have stopped hissing at them. I figured out they are not going to pick on me. I even have started playing with some toys! I haven't started chasing and wrestling with them yet but I don't think it will be long. A kittie has to have some fun right? OH, I am also sleeping and snuggling with Foster Mom ALL night! That feels really good!

Cocoa AKA Adonis because I AM GORGEOUS!

05/28/2014 we have had koko for three years....a wonderful cat!!!!!! unfortunately, he has just been diagnosed with hepititus, which our vet said he had probably had for awhile but has just manifested.
right now he is on antibiotics, and pregnizone. we syringe feed and water. we can only hope for the best!! his brother that we adopted later we discovered has diabetes. he is currently on two insulin shots a day and seems to be doing very well. he is a sweetie also. we did lose skittles
... she was a rescue kitty and was quite a bit older then we were told. when she passed she was about 11 or 12 years old. she is greatly missed!!!

FRECKLES
This lady kept flashing this light in my face to try and get a good picture and I tried to sit still but I wanted her to pet me and I wanted to see that thing she was holding. The lady kept saying that I sure am good - beautiful and unusual looking, that I am not afraid, I love to have your attention, I will sit in your lap, and so far I like the other cats here although one just spits at me but I just ignore her. I think that we could get along fine - so ask about me???

freckles is now 6 years old. she is very much the princess of the house. she loves laying in front of the kitchen windows and watching whatever moves. she gets along very well with skittly-bo-bob, a tabby cat.they race around the house continuously. she also gets along well with tucker, our 7 year old irish setter, and loves hershey, our 3 year old lab/husky. tucker ignores the cats, and hershey loves them.
the kids are grown, and it's just the 2 of us with the wild animal family!

This cat is not suitable for children under the age of 5 (ie 5 and over is OK). This is typically a cat that is shy and a child might scare it, or one that has a potential to bite or play too hardNot with kids under 5
This cat is either scared or, or has had bad experiences with dogs. Not with Dogs
KINSEY
I had my vetting/spay and all went fine. I am a petite little girl and get along fine with other kitties. I am unsure of new things so need a quiet home with some love and encouragement. I purr and love my soft cushie bed. When foster mom holds me, I purr and knead and am a great lap kitty. Love to be petted and cuddled. I am still exploring my foster space and like the cat tree when the others are not hogging it.
Trixie
Notes from Home
Kinsey is adjusting great to her new home. She has claimed the big bed as her own and enjoys sleeping by our toes and attacking in the early hours to nibble on the little piggy's. She has noticed her tail and runs around the house trying to catch it. Loves to have her belly rubbed and back scratched and showing strong signs of being a Queen

MAZIE
Oh phooey! I blew it! I went home to a great place, and I even had a cat brother to play with. But it turns out I didn't really want a cat brother because all I did was chase him. So howsabout a home for me with no other cat siblings and I can just be my beautiful, snuggly, playful self? Ask about me fast because I can go home right away!

Notes from Home
Her new name is Mazie and she is doing quite well. It has taken a little time to get her totally acclimated to her new surroundings but she seems pretty darn adjusted now. :~) She has a love hate relationship with our youngest Golden Retriever, Finn. They play a good game of chase up and down the stairs ending with her trapped in a corner and his mouth wrapped around her neck. Now this may sound awful but the dog doesn't bite down and when he doesn't engage in Ms. Mazie's games she will attack him!! Many a night they lay and have a long staring contest. I doubt I need to tell you she is the champion! He concedes and goes to bed.
She has full run of the house. As she has become more comfortable she lets us pick her up and love on her pretty regularly. She's VERY vocal when it's time to eat. You will not forget her... NO WAY!
SHe has her own room and plenty of toys to play with.
We enjoy her very much and she is in Dog/Cat heaven!!! :)

E. A. POE
Do you like chocolate? If you do, you will love me.....
Notes from Home
*5/26/14*

Wow, six months has come and gone by so quickly! Both Lila and Poe are doing really well. You were right about taking them both, to help Poe with his fear. Lila has been great for him. They still have their bouts of the crazies when it gets dark at night, but both have settled in quite well to the family routine. When they start to run upstairs, they are louder than our girls have ever been. The "joy of life" thing is a wonderful thing to watch and brings us much enjoyment. Lila and Poe make a great pair.

Poe, by my estimate, is almost a ten pounder but has become quite a big boy. Maybe a little overweight but structurally, is much bigger than Lila. He is a tall, full bodied boy and almost solid muscle. His coloring has changed significantly. He has become very dark, more seal point than chocolate although his legs and feet have remained lighter than the rest. What is left of his striping has become that of gorgeous swirls and flourishes on the back of his head and shoulders. He has a stunningly dark face with those beautiful blue eyes. Kathi knows that I am a seal lover at heart which makes him just perfect for me.

Poe has become quite a mommies boy. Most of the time he will come to me when he is called to get scratched and rubbed. He loves have the top of his head scratched. I can get him to the point where he will fall over and go limp but then he catches himself a tenses up a bit. We are a work in progress with him loosening up a little more every week. My barometer of his progress is his tail. He will come into the kitchen to see me with his tail straight up and when I speak to him, the tail goes straight up. When the house is quite, and Toby is not around, Poe will come to me for loving. This is especially true at night when he will get into the bed with me and lie down between the pillows. This is normally Winnie's place at night, but if it is vacant and there is no Toby, Poe will jump in.

True to Christine's description, Poe is a sweet hearted, gentle soul. He dearly loves all cats, inside and outside ones. He bumps Kissie and Winnie frequently but his true love is Lila. Those bumps and nips usually set off the Kentucky Derby of cats. It is funny to see Lila sleeping peacefully in Toby's doggie bed and Poe walking over and flopping on top of her. He usually spends some time washing her in a vice like grip, but then it is off to the races.

As far as habits are concerned, Poe likes to go up on the table or kitchen counters. Discipline is much milder with him because we don't want to scare him and he does get the message quickly. He does pick at the screen door but is not a climber. I am fairly certain the we will be adding another screen between the glass door and the frame for two reasons.... It will keep Lila from climbing the screen door itself but will also add some distance between them and the outside kitties. All the outside cats love to spend time with Poe. Feral Mini cat frequently brings her toy mousies and moles to the screen door for Poe, only they are not toys in a store bought sense.

Poe remains quite a chirper. He chirps at everyone even Toby. He only meows when he has something to say but that is not very often. He too loves to sit at the screen door and watch the buggies and birdies. Every morning I put seed into their outside entertainment center which gives Lila and Poe many hours of entertainment.

All in all, both Poe and Lila are very happy and content kitties. Food, shelter and all the love and attention that they could want. We are all blessed to give them the lives that they both deserve and they reward us in return in countless ways every day!

Christine, again you have our thanks for this wonderful boy! Poe and I share much joy together every day. He does my heart good and relieves my stress just by watching him bloom into the kitty he was born to be! We are thrilled that he is here and that you rescued him from a hard life no cat is meant to have. Kathi and Heida too, thanks for filling our hearts and home as well!

I am working on getting photos of both Lila and Poe together so you can see how they both have changed in these 6 months. When they arrived here, they were both about the same size and their bodies roughly the same color, points excepted. The differences in them now is incredible, so watch for updated pictures.

**************
Yesterday, November 30th, we opened the iso room door. Lila has been more than ready to explore the house for several days now. She really enjoyed zooming up and down the stairs getting a good leg stretch. Poe, more hesitant, explored some and well but played to a long time in the living room with his new yellow cat chaser. Pictures posted of Poe. Poe and Toby seem to have developed a more tolerant relationship. Lila and Toby are still working things out. Winnie and Kissy are more energized by our new family members but mostly sit back and watch/listen to the antics.

Overall, Lila have become very outgoing and aside from Toby, she is very confident in her place with us. We just lover her to pieces! She is a zany as a siamese comes!

Poe no longer hides under the bed when we enter the room but still puts his tail between his legs when picked up. Not sure if we should be holding him more so any advise would be appreciated. What is the best way to get him over this fear? He is great when unheld by us and will sit on the pillows for play and loving. He has a super loud motor!

They were out yesterday for a couple of hours. We let them out this morning and can hear kitten races upstairs. Tell me how two 4 pounds kittens can make so much noise when chasing each other! Like two buffalos running upstairs!

When they start to run upstairs, they are louder than our girls have ever been. The "joy of life" thing is a wonderful thing to watch and brings us much enjoyment. Lila and Poe make a great pair.

Lila has grown to be a stunning, petite almost 8 pounder. She is incredibly loving and curious. We humans are not allowed to close any of the bathroom doors as she wants to come in and play in the sink, with the dripping water that we turn on for her. She loves everyone here and comes to all of us to rubs and scratchies. She is, however, devoted to Alexis. When the girls got home yesterday from a weekend away (soccer), Lila would not leave her side. You want to talk about a bonded pair, Alexis and Lila are it!

Lila is quite vocal, although not as much as many other meezers. She is everything a meezer lover could want. Curious, active, demanding, loving and loyal!!!!! She also loves bird watching and frequently gets so mesmerized in watching them that she will fall over when they zoom by the door.

She is a good girl, for the most part. No bad habits but we are still working on "off the table" and now, "don't climb the screen door". Lila is frequently seen hanging from the top of the screen door. Not quite sure if we need to buy a water gun, fill a can with coins, or get another screen to keep her away from the door itself. She wants out in the worst way to get the buggies and birdies. So we are being very careful! I just know that as some point she will figure out that she can pull the screen door to open, if it is left unlocked. Did I say that she is incredibly smart!

I am working on getting photos of both Lila and Poe together so you can see how they both have changed in this 6 months. When they arrived here, they were both about the same size and their bodies roughly the same color, points excepted. The differences in them now is incredible, so watch for updated pictures.

Heida, again you have our thanks for our beautiful girl! Kathi and Christine too for filling our hearts and home as well!

One month since our adoption of Milkshake and he has adjusted very well to his new home. He gets along great with Princess.
We love him more each day that goes by.

Well it's been six months already since Milkshake became part of our family.
Paula and I feel like he's been with us forever. He weighs in at ten pounds and is very fit and healthy. Eats very well and has no major issues. Milkshake is a very smart cat, always trying to figure out ways to amuse us. He loves attention and is a big talker. Here is a recent picture of him.

KEOKI
Are you lonely? Do you need a best friend?

I'm your boy!

Looking for an unattached human (no other cats, dogs might be okay). I think I like the ladies best.

I'll talk your head off, demand all your attention, and want to cuddle 24/7.

Am I friendly? How many cats do you know that will purr during their bath?

Wish I could get along with other kitties but I'm not doing too well with that so I need to be your one and only.

Love

Mouser

PS Please adopt me and change my name!

Update:

YAY!!!

May 29 2010
HI! I've been at my new home for 1 week now and things are great! I love my new parents! I was only shy the first day for about 30 minutes and decided they are good people, so I let them see the real me =) I tried to steal Mom's pizza the first day, but she wouldn't let me have it. It's ok because she feeds me good food anyway. I even slept with them the first night. I purr so loud.. Mom calls me Monkey and her little V8. I'm so happy now!

Purrrrrs,
Keoki

June 4 2010
Mom and Dad took me to the doctor lady yesterday and she's says I'm great! She also thought I was really handsome too =) I had a tiny bit of flea dirt on me so now I have to get the greasy stuff on my neck once a month.. but, if it'll get rid of the itchies, then I don't mind too much! Other than that I got an A on everything. I'm very healthy and happy, the doctor lady said.

July 9 2010
HI! I'm still doing great! Still won't let mommy and daddy give me a bath, but I think that they may be figuring out a way to do it... they're pretty smart like that... we'll see who wins =) My favorite thing to do is play fetch with my little mousie, although it may be time for a new one. I've kind of destroyed this one a little bit... but all in all I still love it here and I know mommy and daddy love me very much too.

January 2013
Just thought I would check in and let everyone know that I'm still great!! I've been with my mommy and daddy for almost 3 years now! Yay!! Hope everyone else is getting on with their new forever homes well. I also hope that many more meezers are finding their new forever homes too. Don't be sad, you'll get one too!! Purrrss, Keoki =)

May 22, 2014
RAWR!! I'm the king of my castle! mommy and daddy love me very much still, and all is very well. I already had my trip to the doctor man and he says I'm the most handsomest Munky on the planet. (I still don't like him very much though, he always sticks me with a pointy thing and calls it vackseen and rrraabees shoots or something.) My name has kind of morphed into Munky, but I still love it. I also get called bubba too, and I respond to that as well. Hope everyone is finding love and happiness and new forever homes!
Purrrrs, Keoki (Munky)

P.S. Today is my 4 year anniversary living in my furrever home! Mommy and daddy say I'm not going anywhere! Yay!!
