Elvis is doing great. He enjoys playing with his feather and mice toys. He loves to eat which made it easier when we moved him to the cat station and he was fed with his food hoarder sister, Lucy. He made the transition to the new liter box location with out any issues. He is such a lovely cat and is now starting to come lay on our lap.

Notes from Home
We've affectionately nicknamed Bartholomew "Trouble". He is a very active, excited kitten who eats anything he finds on the floor, and loves to chew on everything else - including boxes, blankets, Matt's desk chair, and every wire he can find. He's particularly active at bedtime, vigilantly attacking toe-monsters. He's very affectionate (when you can get him to sit still) and incredibly vocal (Matt and I compare the sounds he makes to a bird - very twitter-y, and super-cute). He loves his sister more than anything, and follows her wherever she goes.

Hi there!
After almost 2 months here, I'm finally starting to get a little braver. Meowmy has had to elimate almost all on my list so far, because of my shyness. She said I need a very special adopter, one that isn't out of the transport area, doesn't have small kids to scare me, and one that would have lots of patience helping me come out of my shell even more.
If you think you're that person, ask about me and maybe I could come to you to live while you teach me more about bravery. Check out my video's and you'll see my progression so far.

5/11/12 Note from foster: Joshua is doing so well now, and playing just like a kitten should. He'll come out of his playpen when I open the door, though he does stay fairly close to it. He loves his little toy mice and will toss them and play with them for hours. He also looks for petting and when I take my hand away (while he's in his playpen) the grabs it for more. He's just so sweet and I'm so pleased with his continued progress. I think he's ready for his forever home now as long as the adopter will continue the work I've done with him and give him attention with a little space for him to progress more at his own pace. he definately has the chance of becoming a victim kitty, so no dominate playmates for him. His eating habits are good, and his litterbox habits are excellent. Just a perfect little doll baby!

Joshua has grown into quite the character. We call him Joshua Bean Handsome Pants. He is still scared of strangers but around people he knows -he has attitude and an affectionate nature.
It's now almost Joshua's reported birthday, Sept 15. Today I will upload a picture of him. He is thriving.

MACKINAW
Foster Mom says I'm the perfect kitten. I'm very active and do crazy kitten things, but I'm also very sweet. I'm handsome and have the softest, prettiest fur. I enjoy playing by myself and with the resident cats here. I follow Foster Mom around and enjoy sitting on her lap. I'm sitting next to her now, purring loudly. Soon I will try to help her type (she does not appreciate my help but I don't care). I am a good eater and have perfect litter box habits. I close my eyes when Foster Mom tries to take a picture of me, so she hasn't been able to post a lot of good pictures, and she's worried that you can't see how see how handsome I am. All my vet work has been done (I was a big hit at the vet's office), and I am ready to go to my forever home, so ask about me!

Well I ended up being a rather large Ragdoll, not really a meezer but my mom and dad love me anyhow! I lost my big brothers Adam and Bruno but for Valentine's Day (cough), mom and dad got me a sister who hisses and beats me, but I guess she's ok....

Bogart is a wonderful, sweet boy! We integrated him and our 17 year old female Tabby slowly, and she has totally accepted him as the new boy in the house! They both very happily snuggle with Meowmy when we are watching TV!
Bogart has met and charmed many of our friends, and has such a sweet face - he lets you know when he wants to eat (which if he had his way would be all the time LOL) and loves affection, belly rubs and scritches!
We are so happy he has joined our family!

I am watching the door. I can hear foster mom coming. She opens the door and gives me a hello and I am so happy to see her. I give her a big hello and my best purr music. Well yes, the food she brings is good, but I just love to get head kisses and pets and then I am ready to play with the green feather string thing. Oh I really like that and am quite good at catching it and pouncing on it. And that cat nip thingy is good too! Life is good, but then foster mom has to leave and close that door again. I am watching the door.
Will you be my family with no closed doors?

Notes from Home
We welcomed Jewel to our family eight years ago. She has been a perfect fit for our family. Jewel is a wonderful, loving cat. She was a bit hesitant when she first came home but quickly settled into her castle. She asks for only food, love, and attention. While she has never been one to wander off outside, she does enjoy the fresh air through open windows in good weather. During winter she cannot be budged from her favorite chair by the fire. While not a lap cat, Jewel loves to have company by her side and cuddles up at the foot of the bed at night. Often her chatter is the first thing heard in the morning as she lets us know it’s time to get going in the morning and she has never been shy of voicing her opinion.
Over the past three years, our Jewel has been slowing down and showing her age. The vet says her cardiomyopathy has gotten worse and we notice she no longer has the energy she once had. She has no indication to play with her feather toy anymore, but prefers to spend her time peacefully dozing. About three years ago, she was diagnosed with tummy problem and has to take daily medicine to keep her bowel movements regular. This past year, she was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and must receive a daily fluid infusion. We almost lost her twice this past fall due to kidney failure. However, our Jewel is a fighter and she has pulled through. The fight has taken its toll on her and we fear our Jewel may not have much time left. We keep her comfortable in her bed and feed her smaller, more frequent meals so she always has fresh food.
Our girl is a stubborn fighter and so long as she keeps fighting, we are going to fight for her as well.

It is with heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of Jewel. She passed away yesterday in the evening. She was a perfect cat for our family in so many ways and we will miss her tremendously!
As we mentioned in our previous update, Jewel was struggling with multiple health ailments recently, but she was a gallant fighter to the very end.
She was not a lap cat but had her favorite sleeping spots throughout the house. Her favorite spot was the recliner in the finished basement family room, warming herself on many cold winter nights by the wood stove. There she would sleep until morning and then meander upstairs to a warm sunny spot on the bedroom floor.
She was one of a kind and we will be forever grateful for the time we were allowed to share with her.

Lucy is the lady of the house... she may be petite, but she has a BIG personality!!! She is as loving and affectionate as she is smart, and a total mama's girl. She still LOVES her baby brother Edmund (who is bigger than she is now!) and takes care of him! She loves to give hugs around the neck, and has the HUGEST purr!!! She and my boyfriend, Andrew, are best friends-- when he comes to visit from Maryland, he calls Lucy & me "his girls" and always gives her a HUGE hug, right away. Lucy is as playful as ever-- never a dull moment with these 2!!!
In terms of "news..." I am now *almost* through my PhD program in Pittsburgh, and so thankful these 2 have been by my side every step of the way! It could have been a lonely time away from home, but instead the "three of us" have been a great little family! We're getting ready to move from my little Pittsburgh studio, back home to Maryland in the Spring. The kitties love their new, bigger house, with 2 stairways to play on!!! They do GREAT with my boyfriend's yellow lab, Eazy! They team up on him a bit, but he doesn't mind his pesky 'little siblings.' Edmund & Lucy are also both VERY patient and sweet with children-- my friend's toddler loves them so much, she laughs out loud whenever she sees them!
So thankful to Siamese Cat Rescue, Heida & Kathy, & the Meezer Express for bringing these sweet best friends into my life.

EDMUND
Hi, I'm Riley.
I'm a handsome, spunky little blue point boy. I have lots of energy & am very curious. I also like to purr loudly. I'm here with my brother Casey.
My foster mom let me outside of my room today. I can't wait to do it again.
She also tried to get some good pictures, but she's going need to a much faster camera than what she has to get a great picture of me.

Notes from Home
Sweet Edmund (formerly known as RIley) has grown into a very tall & VERY handsome young man! His petite "big sister" Lucy (formerly known as Lila) still thinks he's her kitten, though! My boyfriend Andrew calls Edmund the "Liquid Cat" because he's so snuggly. This year, Edmund has taken to sleeping under my arm like a teddy bear at night. (Lucy sleeps on the pillow next to my head). These two are still best friends, and continue to be the most playful, friendly, loving companions to each other and to me! Edmund is on his 4th "Kitty Cube" now--- his favorite toy since Kitten-hood!!! When he is in his 'cube,' he is invincible!
