Notes from Home
Jersey is settling in very nicely. He has already selected several "spots" for napping and enjoys gazing out the screen door for hours on end. My girls adore him and he is a big hit with their friends as well. After an afternoon playing with the kids, Jersey takes a long power nap in one of his spots. One of his favs right now is to sleep in one of the American Girl doll beds. It now has Jersey's blankets and pillow on it. The girls like to spoil him.

He sleeps with my husband and I at night, normally up beside me. The first night he was here, I woke up to him grooming my hair.

What can I say, we love him to pieces!

COCO - LOCO
Sweet lap kitty, that's me :) I'm an old fashioned apple head gal who is a gentle, easy going happy go lucky gal. I'm fine with the boys here, happy to have attention, but not demanding all the time. I'd be fine with kids and am just an easy going gal!

Notes from Home
We have dropped the "Loco" part of her name and call her CoCo only. She has settled in quite nicely and bonded with me. She eats very well and since I put her on a low calorie kibble, she has lost 1 pound. With more exercise, we are hoping she will lose a few more pounds. As you know CoCo is a terrible traveler. She had scraped the skin off her nose & bloodied her paws during the trip up to NJ. That seems to be healed up now.
We do have one problem.....CoCo seemed to be afraid to go down to the basement where the litter boxes are located and preferred to pee on the carpet in our office. To get her used to the box & the litter we use, I brought one of the boxes upstairs & set it up in the office for the past week. She has been very accepting of this arrangement....no further problem. However, we intend to put the box back in the basement today & plan to introduce her to the location again. (Her Profile indicated "sudden urination before she can get to the box" once a week for past month".) Fingers are crossed. Any suggestions?

COPPER
Copper is a very sweet 5 month old flame point. He was turned into the local shelter as a stray. He is extremely affectionate, loves to purr, crawls into my lap, sweet boy. He needs a playmate that isn't too old as he likes to play and wrestle too rough for the geezers meezers. He is currently getting over a kitty cold. Don't miss out on this very sweet boy :)

Maliboo is doing great. He's had no trouble finding the litter, eats very healthy portions, and is Mr. Mischief's new boy-toy. He's slyly trying to get close to Diva-Mia and she sometimes lets down her guard for him. I forgot how energetic kittens are. On a sad note, for the first time in 5 years I do not have Mischief dogging my heels constantly. I have to look for Maliboo to find Mischief! Thanks everyone for making this happen so quickly.

KAEKA
Lovely friendly gal looking for another home, I'm dog exposed, children experienced (older kids suggested) and adult certified (friendly, fun, lap sitting, loving!) Four paw declaw pretty rare in Rescue; I've maintained my composure, am outgoing, talkative and involved!

Kaeka (formerly Skye) settled in nicely at the Rice house, as you can see from the weekend photos. A sweet, loving girl sends headbutts to all volunteers!

SOLOMON
I was very happy in my home, and my mamma was very happy with me. So why am I here? The doctor mamma went to was not happy with me - and after a long time trying, mamma finally decided that the doctor was right so here I am. I have been well loved and well cared for - I've been in the family since kitten-hood. Right now I'm a bit scared with all the changes, and leaving my loving home, but I'll adjust. I lived with a little dog, and we played together. Not sure how I am going to feel about other cats, but we will start to find out soon. I would like a quieter, adults only home - kids scare me and make me hide. Being a very sensitive sort, I'm going to take some time to settle in but after I do I'm a marvelous cat! We will see how I do with other kitties - I have been sniffing them under the door, but that's it so far.

Whiskey (yes, he no longer goes by the name Solomon) is doing great! He loves it here in Arlington, VA and he feels right at home. He is very cuddly these days and always begging for attention when we get home from work. He loves to meow and curl up with us on the couch. He enjoys having his belly rubbed and he also loves to kneed our bellies! He is still shy when we have people over, but he jumps out to play with us as soon as they're gone. He is a silly boy and we love him so!

Notes from Home
Keeko has been home with us for two weeks and he is doing wonderfully. He is a cat with loads of energy and a huge personality to match. We have two other resident cats that he has recently met and all are doing well. Within the first minutes home he came out of his crate and rolled around on the floor wanting scratches and then quickly wanting to play. He got home at around 8PM and by 8:30 was chasing toys around with my 6 year old - Sam. We finally got Sam in bed at around 10PM (too excited about new kitty) and Keeko crawled up to the pillow and settled down. Sam was over the moon.

We were expecting a feisty kitty with character that can be easily overstimulated and that’s exactly the kitty that came home to us. We were prepared with toys of all kinds, especially long wand toys to keep distance from hands. Over the two weeks with the help of a very willing little boy, it is clear that if Keeko has enough play-time and exercise, he is also a very loving and affectionate kitty that sleeps on your bed and enjoys being held. When he starts any of his “mouthy” behavior, we have toys all over that we grab to encourage biting the toy instead. We have a lot of vertical space in our house, and Keeko LOVES to run up and down – up and down – either chasing after a toy, or more recently, chasing after Posy, our 4 year old kitty. After a few rounds it is unclear who is chasing who, but they generally end up lying down a few feet from each other when tired out. Keeko did try to chase our older tortie girl, and quickly figured out he didn’t want to do that again. He now gives her plenty of space! 

With all of his energy we have decided to take some hints from Jackson Galaxy and have ordered the Catification book so that we can build some more vertical space for the kitties. It looks like a lot of fun for everyone!

Keeko is definitely a handful and we love every bit of him!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We just celebrated Keeko's one month anniversary. He is settling in and doing great. He found his favorite chair in the house and claimed it for himself...he also matches the chair. :)

Keeko likes to be where the action is....during the daytime when the kids are at school it is quiet here. He is always with me, following from floor to floor. The funny part is, now the other two cats also follow so I usually have two to three cats around my feet. When the kids come home, they disperse. Keeko has strongly bonded with Sam. Sam comes home from school around 3:30 and they do laps around the living room and kitchen. After school, Keeko goes where Sam goes. He still gets overstimulated and goes into attack mode, but he can be quickly redirected. We all like a little mischief in our cats and appreciate his energy...he has added a lot to our household.

One month in and he is just one of the family now. He has a few spats here and there with his feline companions, but nothing much. Our older tortie often thinks Keeko needs a bath, and when Keeko doesn't comply, she will swat him into order. Eventually she gets the job done.

He also has a very soft and sweet side. I can pick him up and he just goes limp....so snuggly, purring, and tolerating being held longer and longer. :)

Wow - we cannot believe it has been six months since Keeko came to be with us. He is an amazing part of our family and we are so grateful to everyone for making this happen. He LOVES to wear his harness and leash and walk around the backyard and go moth hunting. The neighbors all love him and kids always ask when Keeko will be going for his walk that day so they can come out and give him a smooch on the head. He is a very active and inquisitive kitty, he gets along famously with his sister Posy, and we are just in love him him! :)

Charlie can be Mezzer express on March 1,2014. He was then named Grahm, however he needed a "C"name. With the help of my entire family ( we are all long time Siamese loversll). His highness ...Sir Charles of Love..Charlie,.came into our lives and owned our heart! He is beautiful, loving, and talks to tell you so. He was the third fur baby, and so I was worried how everyone would fit . Thank goodness for my volunteer Joann ( now... Refered to as Godmother,) we had someone to email and talk to right at the tip of a fingers. I do believe that Siamese Cat rescue has a whole bunch of earth angels looking over us.
My major worry was I had two Maltese dogs which are also very important. The Mommy dog, Barbie was my Mom's and she became mine after my Mom passed 2009. I have Barbie's baby Annie.
My Mom had Cats so was not worried if they would like Charlie, but pRaye he would like him. By adopting him luckily he was dog tested!
So the fun begins. Charlie is and the dogs play sleep and eat together! Charlie be lives that they. Wag
There tail just for his entertainment! He will talk to them should they want to lay in the sun. ...in his spot or chair.
To make a long story short I am so grateful for all the love. And help we have received from Siamese Cat rescue! Thank you! :) ♡ EnJOY! Sincerely, Joy

ODIE
Love is all I need! I just love to love you! I want to sit in your lap and let you admire my soft silky coat and get lots of pets. I don't even mind if you have other cats. I will be ready to go home Labor Day weekend. Won't you make me your labor of love?

Notes from Home
Odie is just a ham. He loves to snuggle and doesn't resist dislodging a book or a magazine to get at my lap. What a cutie!!

2 yr Anniversary update - Odie just keeps getting bigger! We bought a "doggie couch" for the cats and as you can see by the latest pics he takes up the whole thing! What a sweetie though!

3 Yr Anniversary update - Odie has now topped out at 17 pounds! He "fills" a bin we were packing some summer things away in! New pics attached.

Update 4/3/15 - Odie is doing great! He's a very healthy 18 pounds now, definitely my BIG sweet boy! New pic of him with his bright blue eyes for this year. He's definitely become the most beautiful!

Update: 5 Year anniversary! I can't believe it's been 5 years! The boys just recently had their first dental which was not so fun. Odie had a broken tooth so it had to be extracted, he's also developed feline acne. I had NO IDEA there was even such a thing. He's on the mend from both and is now a VERY BIG BOY at 18 pounds! Bo has stayed at 14 and he's in terrific health, no issues with his teeth. New pics uploaded for both beautiful boys!

BO
Hard day at work? Come and tell Ronaldo all about it. I am a lady's man and I love to love you baby. I want to sit in your lap and have even been known to give hugs on occasion. Pet my nice, soft silky fur and feel your days cares and worries melt away. I am in home therapy for stress. So if you are tired of living alone, than ask about me.

They are doing so great! Bo's eye cleared up and we are giving the lysine as part of their regular "treat". He has also developed a lion's mane that is very becoming! They are VERY spoiled. While Bo is clearly the alpha, he allows Odie to steal his toys constantly.

2 Yr Anniversary update: The boys and Pippin are still doing wonderfully! Some new pics are attached.

3 Yr Anniversary update: The boys are full GROWN now with Odie topping 17 pounds!! Bo is a more reasonable 13 pounds. Pippin has come out of her shell and at all of 9 pounds has come into her own and does not mind putting either brother in his place if it warrants it. :)

Update 4/3/15 - both boys are doing wonderfully. Bo is now 14 pounds and just as precocious as ever! He's definitely the alpha but his sister still can sometimes put him in his place. He definitely loves his cat tree! New pic attached!

Update: 5 Year anniversary! I can't believe it's been 5 years! The boys just recently had their first dental which was not so fun.
